Shido stood in the grooms dressing room fixing his bow tie. He smiled knowing today would be the happiest day of his life. He had changed to future, saved the world, and was about to meet Kurumi at the alter. He looked in the dressing mirror and took a breath. "Alright. Today is the day my future begins." Shido said to himself in the mirror. Suddenly he heard a familiar laughter echo in the room. "It dosent begin today Mr. Itsuka. Today is the day your future ends." Said the smug and evil voice. "You're dead Westcott. I told you you can't hurt me anymore." Shido said frowning.
"I told you Mr. Itsuka that as long as the spirits exist, I'll always be in your head." The voice said again. Shido looked into the mirror again to see Isaac Westcott standing behind him. Shido spun around in fear however Westcott wasn't there. 'Damn it. Am I going crazy?' Shido thought to himself. Suddenly the door opened slightly after a small knock. "Hey bro? You have to be at the alter in five minutes. You don't wanna be late on today of all days!" Kotori said smiling. She noticed Shido was sweating and breathing shakily. "You're not getting cold feet are you?" Kotori asked her brother very concerned.
"I'm fine, Kotori. I'm ready for this and I'm not afraid." Shido said faking a smile. He walked by Kotori and down the hall of the church wing. "Hey Mi- I mean, Reine, What are Shido's emotional level readings right now" Kotori said into her ear piece. "His fear levels are at eighty percent maximum." Reine said back over the com. "Over a wedding?" Kotori asked surprised. "Fear this high isn't usually over wedding days. I suspect he's afraid of someone or something." Reine answered. "I dont understand... Who could scare my brother that badly?"
Ten Minutes later
Shido stood at the alter of the church waiting for Kurumi to walk down the aisle. Hiroto Tonomichi stood by Shido smiling as his best man. "I have to admit buddy, getting to marry Kurumi Tokisaki? You're one lucky guy!" He said patting Shido on the back. "Yeah. I know. If you knew what I had to go through just to get to this day." Shido said emotionlessly. Tonomichi smiled unaware of Shido's past struggles. Suddenly the church organ began to play and Kurumi walked down the aisle slowly and gently smiling. After she reached the alter, Kanazuki opened a Bible and began to read. Shido's vision began to blur slightly but he kept a grip.
"Now repeat after me: I Shido Itskua, take Kurumi Tokisaki..." Kanazuki said smiling. "I Shido Itskua take..." Shido began to say. However he looked over Kurumi's shoulder to see Isaac Westcott standing behind her, still with the holds Shido had blown through his head with Zaphkiel when he went Inverse. "Isaac Westcott!!!" Shido shouted in fear. The whole crowd gasped, even Oragami did. Kurumi looked at Shido with concern in her eyes. "Shido-san? Are you alright?" She said feeling afraid for her moments ago to be husband.
"I can't... breathe..." Shido said shakily breathing before collapsing. "SHIDO!" All of the spirits cried out. "Kanazuki get a medic!" Kotori ordered. "What's happening to him, Reine?!" Kotori said over her com. "He's going into cardiac arrest and his brain signals are erratic. He needs medical attention now, commander." Reine said firmly. "Shido! Shido! Please say something!" Kotori begged. Shido's eyes went a different color for several moments and he looked at all the ten spirits. He only said one word. "Inversion..."
-The Fraxinuxs Medical Bay-
Shido lay on a medical bed gritting his teeth. He fought against the restraints as if he were a rabid animal. He kept saying the same word over and over. "Inversion." Kotori and the other spirits all watched the monitor as Shido continued to struggle. "What the hell is happening to him? He's acting like he's gone insane." Oragami asked. "His emotional readings are unable to be read. They're too erratic. One however is very high and very clear to us." Reine said while looking at her computer monitor. "What is he feeling, Reine?" Kotori asked. "Guilt." Reine said emotionlessly. "Those eyes. They were Westcott's. I'd know them anywhere. I know the eyes of my Shido-San and they weren't his." Kurumi said feeling pain in her chest.
"Reine, is he dangerous?" Kotori asked. "He's restrained and his powers are suppressed by the containment room." Reine replied. "I'm going in there. I'm talking to him. Whoever may be I control of Shido..."
