I had written this story once Long Ago and decided to Rewrite it. Story is based off the Episode SB-129. I felt that had a lot of potential. Like, how were the Animatronics Made? Why did Patrick's animatronic have two heads? What could have happened during the time Squidward Remained frozen?

For 2000 years, wouldnt they have found Squidward? Wouldnt Spongebob need to get into the freezer to get more patties?

What if the story behind the androids was a lot darker than it appeared?

Well, this story covers that.

Hours had passed while Spongebob and Patrick both searched for Squidward, who had somehow locked himself in the deep freezer of the Krusty Krab. Hours turned into the next day when the Krusty Krab opened on Monday morning.

Spongebob had found him first, all attempts of force had been used to pry the freezer door open, and all attempts had failed. By then, it had been more than a few days, and by then Squidward would have been dead.

A small and depressing funeral was held for the octopus that was still stuck in the freezer. It surprised Spongebob how many people actually showed for the funeral, not even his own mother showed up.

"It's gonna be ok, Spongy." Sandy assured as she rubbed her friends back as he sobbed against her shoulder. "It's not fair, why couldn't it have been me instead? I should have been there for him, Sandy. I should have noticed it sooner!" Spongebob choked on his tears.

"There was nothin y'all coulda done, y'all did everything ya could have done fer em." Sandy began to pet the top of his head. Spongebob shook his head, sniffling, "Obviously, it wasn't enough. What if he suffered, I can't.. Of course he suffered, he must have been calling for help for hours, how did I not hear it?" Spongebob asked.

Sandy sighed as she continued to rub his back before she looked up at the freezer to see Squidwards smiling face, "He didn't suffer, see he was smiling until his last moments." Sandy pointed.

Spongebob looked up at his frozen friend, sniffling before shaking his head, "I don't know. It doesn't seem right, he was fine the last time I saw him." Spongebob said before they turned to Mr. Krabs who was taking money from some photographers in exchange for photos of Squidward.

"I can see that some of us haven't changed." Spongebob said as he dried his tears, "Oh please, you know how much Squidward wanted to be on the cover of a magazine." Mr. Krabs defended with a nervous chuckle.

"Krabby Patties, Buy two, get one 15 percent off! Squidwart discount!" Mr. Krabs announced.

Two Years Later

Two years came and went in a blur, and life seemed to carry on like normal, work resumed as if there wasn't a frozen body in the freezer, which Mr. Krabs used as a gimmick to make more money.

It pained Spongebob to come into work each morning and see his friend stuck in the same place, what could he do? Except watch.

Today was a new day, a special day, and one of the greatest elections in all of Bikini Bottom. A battle between two very tough candidates fighting for the majors position.

"Can ya believe it, Spongebob?" Sandy asked as she held onto her friend as they stood in the town hall, waiting to listen to the candidates speeches.

"This is tha election of the century, who are y'all voting for?" Sandy asked, while Spongebob just shrugged. "I don't know yet, I haven't decided." Spongebob answered.

"Well, I hope y'all figure it out soon, we need all tha votes we can get." Sandy said.

"I just wish Squidward were here, He'd know who was best to vote for." Spongebob said as his mood damped, seeing this, Sandy rolled her eyes. How many times was he gonna talk about Squidward? A guy who couldn't care less about Spongebob, but Spongebob didn't see it that way.

"I Bet he would love it, but he's in a better place." Sandy said as she reached for his hand, Spongebob smiled at her gently, "Do you really think so?" he asked.

Sandy began to nod her head, "I know so, now come on before the line gets too long." Sandy said as she pulled him with her.

"Ladies and Gentlefish! On behalf of today's election, we welcome you! This might just be the biggest election of our lifetime! With an election as fierce as this one!" Perch Perkins announced to the crowd of fish.

"It is down to two of the ocean's greatest candidates, on one side, we have a Kevin M Fisher!" Perch points towards a chubby blue fish who has aged, and would clearly have many years of experience.

"On the other hand, we have a fresh new face from, Muinnellim Travel seas, hmm, never heard of it, but it appears that our guest was the co-founder and president, and only at the age of, wow 25! Silva Jubileens!" Perch Perkins welcomed the next female candidate who was of medium height, Brown hair, tan skinned and the most beautiful blue eyes, her light blue eyes scanned the crowd before locking eyes with our familiar sponge friend.

A smile crossed her red lipstick covered lips before she looked away from him. While Sandy sat back, watching as her best friend shared a brief staring match with the lady, "Did you see that? She looked at me!" Spongebob tugged on Sandy's sleeve.

Sandy rolled her eyes, annoyed, "Yeah I saw." she said, "How professional for a potential political leader to openly flirt with the crowd to gain votes." Sandy crossed her arms, seemingly kind of jealous that the sponge liked the attention the candidate gave him.

"She wasn't flirting, Sandy. Our eyes only locked for a few seconds." Spongebob defended, "yeah whatever." Sandy turned away from him slightly.

"Hey, are you upset, Sandy?" Spongebob asked as he peered around her shoulder to look at her, but she just sighed and shook her head, "No, I just gotta headache." She answered before they looked forward as the candidates began to speak.

Kevin M fisher started off strong, "Greetings my lovely friends, and loved ones! Vote for me, with my help we can clean up the oceans, and create better laws! As well as start a program for those in need!" Kevin raised his arm, and he continued to talk for another ten minutes before Silva Jubileens came to the podium.

"Hello, sweet people of Bikini Bottom! Wow, I dunno what to say, Kevin here said a lot of good things, a lot of things that could benefit this city, but is he willing to keep his word once he is in office?" Silva asked the crowd who had begun to murmur amongst each other.

"Look, I know I may be young, but I have more experience than y'all might think, and unlike Mr. Fisher here, I plan to keep my promises. First by saying, we will open a new food bank, and underground shelters, with as many catastrophes this town has suffered, it makes since that we build to prepare ourselves." she started off, which earned cheers from the crowd.

Silva began to pace the stage, "Laws will be tightened, and funding will go to the police force to improve our law enforcement, crimes will not go unsolved or unpunished!"

"Jobs will be created, so that not a single person is without a job if desired." she said before she looked to the only sponge in the crowd, her soft blue eyes finding his once again, "Vote for me, and you can have your friends back, with the technology I can provide, we can bring anyone back from the clutches of death, whether they are sick or simply frozen in a block of ice, I want to help." she said before she smiled at him.

"All you have to do is vote for me." she said, her sweet voice filling his head as Spongebob stared down at the ballot.

"I don't trust that woman." Sandy said as they walked away from the crowd, "The other guy is where it's at, just think of the guppies he'd be providing education for." Sandy pointed out while Spongebob was in deep thought.

"Spongebob! Did ya hear what I said?" she asked him, Spongebob shook his head clear, "I'm gonna vote for her." Spongebob said without explanation.

"What?!" Sandy asked, Spongebob looked at Sandy with a look in his eye, there was no talking him out of it, it was his choice after all.

"Is it because of Squidward?" Sandy asked him, becoming annoyed, she was tired of Squidward always having something to do with him and his decisions.

"If she says she can bring him back-" "She's lying, there's no way that anyone could bring him back, spongy" Sandy reached for his hand, while he looked at her hand and couldn't help but to blush.

"It's worth a shot, right?" he asked her looking into her eyes, Sandy sighed and smiled softly, "Do what ya gotta do, i still don't trust er." Sandy shrugged, "Vote fer who you want." she said before they stepped into two different booths.

As Spongebob emerged from the booth and he went to look for Sandy when he stumbled into the candidate, Silva herself. Silva was a lot prettier up close, she looked at his face and blushed before she brushed her curly brown hair out of her face.

"Silva Jubileens, you're Spongebob Squarepants, right?" she asked as she reached to shake his hand. Spongebob blushed as he looked up at the lady, "Yes, you know my name?" Spongebob asked as he let go of her hand.

Silva shrugged, "I make it a habit to know all the citizens of the city I want to run, and also, I'm a big fan." she admitted, "I've heard all about how you saved the city a couple times, as well as your food, which is, Amazing by the way, a man that cooks as good as he looks." she said as she touched the side of his face.

"Uh, thanks?" Spongebob said as he looked at her hand before he looked up at her, "I hope I got your vote, if not, it's okay and I understand, it's just really nice to meet you." she said.

"Oh, I voted for you, no questions! Is it true, you can bring back anyone?" Spongebob asked, and Silva nodded her head, "Of course, is there someone you have in mind?" she asked him.

"My friend, Squidward. He's frozen in my place of work, attempts have been made, but we haven't been able to get him out." Spongebob explained.

"Well, tell ya what, I'll give you my card." she said before she wrote something down on the back of her business card, "This is my personal cell, if I win the election, You'll be the first, and top priority." she said as she handed it to him.

"Ok, Spongebob! Let's get, WHAT in Tarnation!" Sandy shouted as she approached the two, seeing the two exchange information, and the way the woman had her hand on him.

Silva looked towards Sandy, her face began to blush, "Hello, it's nice to meet you, you must be his Girlfriend!" Silva greeted Sandy before Sandy pulled Spongebob towards her.

"That's right, and I don't appreciate y'all putting yer hands on mah sponge." Sandy spat, Spongebob gasped at hearing what Sandy had said, 'Her sponge?', "Sandy?" he began to ask.

"Well, you are one lucky lady, he's really handsome and sweet." Silva winked at them both, causing both of them to blush, "yes he is, and what would someone like y'all want to talk with him about? I'm sure whatever ya gotta say, ya can say in front of me." Sandy spat.

Silva laughed, "She's a keeper." she looked to the sponge who looked towards his squirrel friend, "She sure is." Spongebob smiled as he looked back at Silva.

"Alright, if ya can excuse us, We gotta bus ta catch, and don't got time ta stand around." she said as she dragged her friend behind her and out of the election building.

"Your sponge, huh?" Spongebob grinned as they boarded a bus, teasing his friend, "I didn't know we were dating, you could have at least asked me out on a date, ya know." Spongebob laughed before Sandy hit him on the head before they took their seats.

"I don't trust that woman, Spongebob. She's bad news." Sandy said before shaking her head, "Y'all need ta stay away from her." Sandy instructed, "why, she seems nice to me." Spongebob said.

"Of course she seemed nice to y'all, I mean with the way she had her hands on ya, you wouldn't have noticed." Sandy crossed her arms, Spongebob grinned at his friend, "Were you jealous, honey?" Spongebob asked before he laughed when Sandy gave him a death glare.

Spongebob put his hands up in surrender, "Sorry." he apologized before he reached to touch his head, he sighed as he thought about it, "You know, um I wouldn't mind the label." Spongebob admitted before he looked up at Sandy before looking away for a brief second as she looked at him in a questioning manner.

"What I mean is, I'd say yes, if you asked or wanted to um.." Spongebob sighed, shaking his head, "Don't worry about it, sorry I-" Spongebob stopped talking as he looked at Sandy who was blushing.

"Would you want to go on a date, Sandy?" Spongebob asked, blushing. Sandy began to smile, taking his hand, "Do ya mean it?" Sandy asked, and Spongebob smiled, becoming more confident.

"Every bit, Sandy." Spongebob squeezed her hand, and she sniffled, bringing her hand inside her helmet to wipe a tear from her eye. She'd never thought she'd ever hear him ask, "I'd love to, Spongy." Sandy said softly.

"So. Does this mean we're Actually.. Boyfriend and.. Girlfriend?" Spongebob asked with a little shyness, it felt so weird saying those words, but exciting at the same time.

"Huh?" Spongebob leaned back against the seat as Sandy approached him, her cold glass helmet pressed against the side of his face as she kissed him behind the glass, while he couldn't feel her lips at the moment, he still found it romantic and it caused his heart to flutter twice as much.

"I guess that means yes." Spongebob chuckled.

A Few Days Later

News spread through Bikini Bottom as the new Mayor was elected, it was a hard and tough fight for both candidates, at first it looked like Mr. Fisher had it in the bag until some disturbing information was leaked.

"Wow I can't believe that I almost voted for him." fish would talk amongst each other, "Who leaves their wife of twenty years for a woman who was barely out of diapers?"

"I heard his wife had cancer too, I'm glad I voted for Ms. Jubileens, she may be young, but maybe a young face is what this place needs." another fish said as they turned towards the stage as the new mayor walked on stage.

"Wow! I can't believe this is really happening! Thank you all for voting for me, as I mentioned in the last press, I still intend to keep my promises, as well as to honor some of the great points that Mr. Fisher mentioned before." Silva spoke to the crowd before she found the familiar sponge standing off to the side with his friends.

"I want to thank each and everyone of you, for this wouldn't be possible without you. Wish I could stay and speak a little more, but as the new mayor there's just so much work that needs to be done, thank you Bikini Bottomites!" Silva raised her arm in the air to say farewell.

As Silva walked down the stairs to leave she walked up to Spongebob who had been standing off to the side, "Thanks for your vote, Mr. Squarepants, as promised I will help you, come by my office so we can discuss some things." she said as she reached to shake his hand.

Two Days Later.

Sandy's treedome.

It had been a few days since Spongebob had talked to Silva about Squidward. Silva had convinced him that she could revive him and that he would be good as new, all the sponge had to do was go to meet her.

"Are y'all really gonna go to this place?" Sandy asked as she looked at the address the mayor had given Spongebob as Spongebob sat on her bench sipping on a glass of fresh tea.

"I have to, it's the only way we can get Squidward back. It seems too good to be true, but she said it's possible. They shut the Krusty Krab down for the weekend to try and get him out, after two years, Sandy." Spongebob smiled up at his girlfriend.

Sandy sighed as she sat next to him, "I still don't trust her, Spongebob." Sandy said, shaking her head, there was something in the pit of her stomach telling her to run but she couldn't.

"You don't trust anyone. It'll be ok Sandy, she's a really nice lady." Spongebob tried to reassure, but Sandy wasn't buying it. She shook her head, "I know there's no way I can get ya ta stay. I don't want y'all ta go, but I know that I need ta let you do what you need to do." Sandy sighed as she looked at him, she was worried for many reasons.

"What kinda place don't let ya bring friends, or.. Partners?" Sandy began to question before Spongebob took her hand, "I wish you could come with me too, but, this is something I have to do myself, I will be right back I promise, nothing bad is going to happen to me." Spongebob assured.

"Can you stay, please?" Sandy asked again as she grabbed his other hand, pleading with him. Spongebob awed as he looked down at their hands before looking up at Sandy before he took back one of his hands and reached to pull his helmet off for a moment.

Spongebob pulled her in for a kiss, pressing his hand against her cheek as he kissed her slowly and with passion. Sandy moaned as she pulled him closer as he sucked on her bottom lip before he let go and licked her lips.

Sandy chirped as Spongebob slid his tongue into her mouth to play with hers, he moaned as he sucked on her tongue before he pulled back and placed his helmet back on so that he could finally breathe.

Sandy sat back in shock, the way he had kissed her, when did he learn to do that?

"I have to do this, Sandy. I will be back, I promise and.. When I return, I'll take you on that date we mentioned." Spongebob smiled as he kissed her hand through the glass of his helmet.

Sandy sighed, watching as he stood up, "Ok, just be careful?" Sandy asked, "I will, I love you Sandy." Spongebob said before he left.

Today was the day, they were finally going to get Squidward back! After so long, it had been too long since they had both talked.

Of course the sponge would talk to him whenever he could, and would hope that Squidward could hear.

"So this is the place, huh?" SpongeBob asked as he stood in front of a tall dark warehouse building.

Nervousness filled the young sponge as he began to think of what he was about to see. What if they couldn't unfreeze him? Or what if they did but it was too late?

What if he was just walking in there to find a corpse? It wasn't something that the sponge wanted to think about, but if it was just a thawed out octopus, then they could have an actual funeral, one that Squidward actually deserved.

"Quit stalling, Squarepants. The sooner you get Squidward, the sooner you can outta this place, just in time to take Sandy out on that date." Spongebob pumped himself up, thinking about his wonderful girlfriend, whom he loved dearly.

With that in mind Spongebob marched through the doors, determined to see his best friend who he hadn't heard a word from in almost three years!
