Chapter Summary: CatCo is hosting a party, while an auction is happening somewhere else, Krull shows up and Supergirl wins, while at the auction a fight between the Hood and Lawton happens after Lawton shoots at Walter. The next day Kara is introduced to Lucy Lane.
Chapter Nineteen: Parties & Auctions
Kara walked in the Catacombs party, she wore a green dress and her hair was put into a bun. She exhaled as she continued to walk in looking around.
Her eyes landed on a CatCo poster that had Supergirl, this awkward look came to her face as she looked fixing her glasses, an awkward smile came to her face as she passed a guy, then a girl.
Cat noticed her assistant and began walking towards her, Kara saw her boss walking towards and the awkward look dropped from her face.
"Oh, uhm..." Kara started as Cat placed her hands on her hips.
"You don't fool me," Cat said. "You're late, I noticed because there was no one mumbling and shuffling three paces behind me."
"I'm sorry," Kara said softly.
"Where are the magazines?" Cat asked and Kara began to stammer. "The paper ones? The ones that can be framed?"
"Right," Kara said her eyes slightly wide. "The magazine."
"Uh," Winn came up to them. "The truth is, Kara is probably just a little foggy because she was up all night autographing the magazines with the author's names," he said looking at Kara with a subtle nod. "I mean plus there's also the fact that she has two twins who need her."
"Ah, it's as if I thought of it myself, Kerah," Cat said approval in her voice before walking away.
"Oh my God, Winn, you just saved my life," she smiled at her friend. "I owe you big time."
"Well you could, um, repay your debt right now," Winn scratched the back of his head. "I need my high school dancing buddy."
"Sure," Kara had a smile on her face taking his hand. "And where's Cisco?" She laughed as he lead her to the dance floor.
"My husband is working late with Caitlin and other people at STAR Labs," Winn answered.
Across town was the auction was happening. Walter and Moira stood talking with some people, the conversation ended as the two walked away.
"Well, it's quite a turn out, huh?" Moira said.
"Well it's quite an opportunity, actually," Walter said. "But regardless of the outcome of the auction I'm already winner because I have the two most beautiful women at my side tonight."
"Two?"
"Hm," Walter nodded he looked up seeing Thea walk up to them in a blue dress, Moira turned her to face her daughter. "Thanks for coming, Thea," he smiled at his stepdaughter. "It means a lot to your mother. And me."
Thea smile hugging Moira. "Mr. Steele," a lady walked up to them. "The auction will be opening, in five minutes," she informed him as Moria and Thea pulled out the hug. "Please make sure your bid is ready."
"Thank you, Gina," Walter nodded.
"Mm-hm."
"Shall we?"
A guy on the stairs pressed his coms, "I got him," he said walking down the stairs.
Oliver stood above on the balcony watching as the security walked up the Warren Patal.
"Warren Patal," he reached out grabbing the mans arm. "I need you to come with me, sir."
Oliver watched as the security guard took Warren away.
"Unit one, all clear," Quentin said into the radio on three opposite side. "Unit one, you copy?"
"We have Patel in custody," a man replied. "Still no sign of Lawton."
"Unit three?"
"I'm at the northwest perimeter," a lady responded. "All clear."
He check in with unit four and it was clear as well. "Unit five what's your status?"

"This is unit five," Lawton said into the radio. "All clear."
He said the radio down then grabbed his gun, the policeman on the floor knocked out.
At Kara's apartment, Laurel was watching the twins for her while she was at the CatCo party.
Robbie sat on the couch eating ice cream watching a hero movie. While Laurel painted Astras nails.
There was knock on the door, Laurel sat the polish bottle and got up walking over to the door and opened it.
Tommy stood on the other side of the door holding chocolates and flowers.
"Laurel?"
"Tommy?"
"What are you doing here?" Tommy asked sliding least Laurel.
"Kara asked me to babysit while she goes to a gala for work," Laurel answered.
"Oh so you do things outside of work?" Tommy teased.
Laurel glared at the man. "What are you doing here?"
"Well I brought chocolates for my two favorite kids," he said 'chocolates' loudly making Robbie and Astra turn their heads at them.
"Uncle Tommy!" Robbie jumped off the couch running over to Tommy, Astra doing the same but being careful not to mess up her nails.
Both kids hugged Tommy big smiles on their faces, "Here you go," Tommy gave them their own personal boxes of their favorite kinds of chocolates.
"What do you say?" Laurel looked down at them.
"Thank you!" The twins beamed before taking their chocolates back to their spots.
"You're welcome," Tommy chuckled.
"And who were the flowers for?" Laurel folded her arms.
"Kara," Tommy replied setting the flowers on the counter.
Laurel opened her mother to say something but Robbie cut her off. "Uncle Tommy come watch this movie with me!" He called.
"I'm coming little man!" Tommy smiled taking off his coat and shoes making his way over to the couch.
Kara was dancing with James, he had apologized for calling Clark now they were just talking when glass shattered and Reactron came through the ceiling.
He looked around. "Where is Supergirl?" Reactron asked.
He held up his fist and his blast went past Kara and at the poster of Supergirl on it.
Everyone was running and hiding, Reactron saw Maxwell and started walking over to him.
"I'm gonna slip into something more durable," Kara whispered to James. "Do not do anything stupid."
"No promises," James said as Kara took her glasses off and took her hair out of the bun, running past him and Winn.
Maxwell got up from behind the table seeing Reactron move towards him, he held his hands up. "Don't suppose my fixing g your bike suit ears me a hall pass?"
Reactron's suit started powering up when a blur came and knocked him out the way.
"Twice in two days," Maxwell smiled at Supergirl. "I should put you on the payroll as bodyguard."
"Get somewhere safe," Supergirl told him.
"Good idea," he snapped his fingers before running off.
"I am sorry for what happened to you," Supergirl told Reactron. "But you are going to jail."
"I'm sure one day I will," Reactron got off the ground breathing heavily. "But you won't live to see it." He shot blast at Supergirl.
James stood watching as Supergirl used her cape shielding the blast, one hit the concrete, he looked up seeing one of the concrete walls was about to land on Winn.
Supergirl quick caught it.
"Hey, Krull!" James voice caller out. "Krull!" He called again catching Supergirl and Reactrons attention. "You know who I am? Jimmy Olsen," he told the man, "I'm the closet thing Superman has to a best friend, you wanna see him hurt? Killing me would do that."
"Dig," Oliver walked over to Diggle. "You got your eyes open?"
"That's what I'm here for, sir" Diggle responded. "That and answering patronizing questions."
Oliver sighed frustrated looking around. "This guy's out of time, if he's gonna do something it's gonna happen before the auction."
"Sir?" Diggle looked at Oliver.
Oliver turned his head he opened his mouth then closed it realizing what he had said. "I heard the story on the radio," he came up with an excuse.
"Oliver," came Walter's voice. Oliver didn't say anything else he just walked off towards the man. "So pleased you were able to attend."

Lawton was in the building across from where the Auction was happing, his gun set up, listening to the conversation.
"Walter, the police said that some of the Unidac bidders were murdered," Oliver said from inside the building, Lawton's point target landing on him. "I just think that we should be a little more careful."

"My mother's already lost a husband."
"Well," Walter started grabbing his drink off the table, "If Moira shared your concern she wouldn't have come, and she definitely wouldn't have brought your sister."
Oliver turned his head and saw Thea and Moira talking, he walked over to them while Walter smiled.

Lawton kept his pointed at Oliver while he walked through the crowd, his point moved towards Walter as Oliver moved out of view.
Lawton squinted his eyes while his finger was on the trigger.

Quentin looked around the place, scanning the area. Oliver reached his mother and sister.
"Oliver," Moira smiled at her son. "What a wonderful surprise."
Oliver's lips tightened, he held his hand up calling Diggle over. "I need you to get them out of here right now," Oliver told Diggle.
Thea looked at Oliver, her burrows furrowing in confusion.
Quentin noticed a red beam landing on Walter, his eyes widening.
Just as Lawton pulled the trigger, Quentin ran towards Walter and knocked him to the floor, the bullet that had just been shot landed in the back of a waiter.
People started screaming, Diggle covered Moira and Thea as both ducked. "Get out!" A man shouted, as another bullet was shot hitting another man in the back.
Oliver grabbed Thea by the arm his other her on her face. "Are you okay?" He asked Thea who replied with a 'yeah' "Are you hurt?" He asked Moira.
"No, I'm fine!" Moria told him. "Where's Walter?"
They all looked around, Oliver spotted Quentin holding Walter down as they stayed low moving through the chaos.. "Go, go, go, go!" Quentin said into the Radio.
"Walter's fine," Oliver told them.
"Kara, we may have way for you to stop Krull," Alex said.
"Krull's chest unit is powered by a Demon Core," J'onn said pacing.

"A subcritical mass of plutonium."
Supergirl listened to both as they explained. "If you can removed it from his suit," Alex's voice came into her hears next. "It should shut down his weaponry."

"But the core will melt down the very moment it's freed from its containment matrix," J'onn said.

"There has to be some way to stop him without nuking the city," Supergirl said, Winn standing up behind her.
"You need to encase the core in lead before you rip it free," Alex answered.
"Lead," Supergirl muttered.
She squinted her eyes using her x-ray vision looking around for anything with lead in it.
Her eyes landed on a sculptor, she walked closer using her laser beams on the sculpture, melting the center of it.
Supergirl stuck her hand in the lava, she stuck her whole hand stopping midway at her arm before she pulled it out groaning.

Everyone ran out the building, James going the opposite way as others as Krull hovered in the sky blasting James.
He was grabbed by Supergirl, but he ended up grabbing her and crash landing them in a empty space.
Krull lifted his hand to punch her but Supergirl beat him to it, she groaned trying to get up. Krull got off the ground before her and kicked her, she hit the side of a concrete the landing on the ground with groan.
Krull with his mask off, stood for a second before he started walking over to her.
Supergirl stood off the ground, just was Krull blasted her, she held her hand up blocking the blast, both groaning as the force of the blast started pushing Supergirl back while Krull got closer.
Supergirl balled her fist allowing Krull to get closer before using her hand covered in lead and yanked out the core.
Krull stopped and started gasping as he dropped to the ground.
A metal arrow landed in the and the Hood kicked through the window glass shattering.
Lawton turned his head and started shooting. The Hood hid behind a wall then shot an arrow, bullets and arrows going back and forth.
Lawton stepped out, his wrist aimed in the air as she slowly moved around checking for the Hood, he was kicked from behind.
The Hood between a metal stand kicking Lawton again, be quickly recovered then started shooting again Hood was climbing on top of the metal stand.
Lawton looked up as Hood flipped him over on the ground, both men letting out grunts.
Lawton tried to fight but Hood was using his fit and bow blocking the hits, using his bow, Hood hit Lawton in three places.
He then grabbed Lawton by the throat pinning him again the metal stand.
Lawton tried moving Hood's hand but nothing so Lawton punching him in the shoulder then kicked him in the knee, Hood let out a groan allowing Lawton to grab his bow and throw it.
Hood grabbed Lawton by the back and threw him before going after his bow.
Lawton got up ready to shoot seeing that the Hood was gone.
"Drop your guns," Hood said his hiding behind a wall.
"I admire your work," Lawton told him. "Guess you won't be extending me a professional courtesy."
"We're not in the same line of work, your profession is murder."
"You've taken lives."
Hood's fist clenched around his bow. "For the good of others," he said. "You're out for yourself."
Lawton scoffs lowing his wrist, quickly lifted it back up and started firing again, Hood grabbed an arrow from his sash and shot it.
The firing stopped and the sound of Lawton's body dropping could be heard.
The Hood stepped out from behind the wall, he walked closer to Lawton's body seeing the arrow he shot had landed in his eye.
A groan coming from behind made the Hood tense turning around, he was ready to shoot another arrow if needed but stopped seeing Diggle.
He jogged over to the injured man. Hood lifted Diggle up putting his arm over his shoulder.
Diggle looked at the man in the hood in confusing.
Oliver hanged in the net while Yao Fei watching him, Oliver opened his eyes jumping slightly.
"Fool," Yao Fei said in a foreign language. "It's too dangerous for a man to be here alone."
He walked away from the net and cut the rope that was connected to the net and Oliver dropped with a groan of pain.
"They'll kill you," Yao Fei told him before walking off.
Oliver coughed tangled in the net, his head snapped up at the sound of branched being cracked.
He quickly got untangled from the next and ran away just was men in all black with guns arrived to the scene.
Oliver brought Diggle down to the basement, he cleared everyone off of a metal table putting Diggle on it.
He opened the wooden box and grabbed a stash of herbs out of it. Oliver started mixing the herbs with some water.
He then took it over to Diggle and let him drink it. The man coughed as he laid back on the table.

Diggle woke up sweating, he slowly sat up his eyesight blurry seeing movement, it only took a few seconds before his eyesight became clearer and he saw Oliver in the suit of the Hood.
Oliver stood there. "Hey."
The next day: CatCo Worldwide Media
Kara rushed to James' office, "Hey James," she walked in. "Do you have a minute? I just wanted to ask..." she stopped seeing the back of a brunette. "I'm sorry," the woman turned around. "I didn't know you weren't..."
"Kara, this is Lucy Lane."
"Hey it's nice to meet you, Kara," Lucy smiled moving towards Kara.
"Lucy Lane? Right...Lois has told me some things about you," Kara fixed her glasses, smiling brightly. "Nice to meet you."
"All good things I hope,"
Lucy smiled.
"Of course," Kara nodded.

Kara sat at her desk writing something down when her laptop beeped.
Clark: Hi.
Kara: Hi. Thanks for saving my life.
Clark: I talked to Jimmy. Won't happen again :-)
Kara stared at her screen another message popped up only this time it wasn't from Clark.
Oliver: Heard what happened last night. You ok?
It took Kara a moment before she responded.
Kara: Yeah, Supergirl saved the day...we might.
Oliver: I bet she did ;)
Kara couldn't help but smile at the screen, she knew she could trust Oliver with her secret but she also knew that she would eventually have to tell everyone else who knew that Oliver also knew.
Kara: Heard what happened at auction was everyone ok there?
Oliver: Safe and sound thanks to the police.
Kara: :)
A/N: okay here it is an update! Starting a different method where it'll be chapters just for one episode for a few chapters and to make it easier so I won't be having to switch between shows.
I will also like to kindly ask some people to stop asking when updates are gonna be out, I'm aware they come slow but a lot is going on in life, I'm grateful you all enjoy this book and my other books I'm also thankful for the votes and comments but I would like the 'when will you update again' to stop please.
