"So…where are we going?" Midoriya asked his girlfriend with a curious look on his face.
"You'll see." Tokage shot back with a wink and a smile. "Just relax, freckles. I promise that you're gonna have a good time today!"
"Alright…." The boy simply nodded before relaxing in his seat. There wasn't really all that much that Midoriya could do right now anyway. Right now, his best bet was to simply go with the flow and let his girlfriend work her magic. Whatever that was supposed to mean….
After that brief exchange, Tokage took a moment to lean against the door and gaze out the window to watch over the passing city. All while watching the sun slowly dip behind the Musutafu skyline. Although the evening air had a slight coolness to it, the girl's thoughts were anything but cold at the moment. Quite the opposite, actually. Even now, Tokage's heart was racing a mile a minute. And the sense of anticipation had finally settled into her bones as the day she had planned for over a week had finally arrived.
After all, today was the day when Setsuna Tokage was finally going to get exactly what she had been waiting for all this time.
Or at least, she hoped it was….
'Oh god, what if he says "no"...?' The thought suddenly wandered into the 'lizard tail splitter' user's mind as her gaze shifted to a nearby plane that was flying over the city. 'What if he says that he's not ready yet?'
Although Tokage was pretty confident that her plan was going to work, there was still a slight chance that all the effort she went through to make today happen would end up being a waste. After all, she was pretty much banking on the hunch that her boyfriend actually wanted to take their relationship to the next level. A hunch that might end up being wrong.
The girl then shook her head in an attempt to get rid of those thoughts. No, this plan of hers was going to work. Her and Midoriya were going to have a perfect date night that was going to end with Tokage finally getting what she wanted. The night was going to go exactly how she planned it. Any other possibilities were simply irrelevant.
Tokage's fingers then began trembling against the armrest of the car as she thought about the night ahead.
The girl wasn't exactly nervous, at least, not in the way that one might expect. It was more like she was currently experiencing a sense of thrill that she wasn't quite familiar with. The kind of thrill that came from knowing she had orchestrated something meaningful. Coupled with a sense of anticipation that came from days of secret planning and scheming finally coming to fruition.
In the grand scheme of things, it was a pretty simple date if you really thought about it. One that was meant to create some fun memories, build a stronger bond, and, most importantly, set the stage for the big question that Tokage was going to be asking Midoriya later on.
Tokage knew exactly how she was going to have to play this. And she was more than ready to do what was necessary in order to achieve her goal. The girl knew that she was going to have to ease her boyfriend into the idea before actually making her move. This is why she had meticulously planned every detail of date the way that she did, to ensure that the two would have fun, relax, and enjoy each other's company before she blindsided the 'telekinesis' user with the big question.
First on the docket for tonight was an escape room. A playful activity that would get them both laughing and thinking together. The plan was for the room's puzzles to challenge the young couple, and perhaps more importantly, allow them to work together as a team. She was hoping that it would help Midoriya relax, allow him to let out a more playful side of him, and start to open up in ways he hadn't before.
Fortunately for Tokage, there was an escape room not too far away from the school that was run by one of Kayama's former sidekicks. One of the infamous "Midnight Boys" who ended up becoming a pretty successful businessman after he retired from heroics due to the "R-rated" heroine becoming a full-time teacher. Thanks to him, she was able to get a significant discount on one of the rooms. Something her wallet greatly appreciated.
Afterward, Tokage had booked a short stay at a local day spa owned by one of Kayama's hero contacts. It was the perfect spot to unwind in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Thankfully, the private hot spring bath that Tokage had managed to arrange would give the two of them the chance to connect more intimately, without any unnecessary distractions.
And then, at the end of the evening when Midoriya was all nice and loosened up, Tokage would ask him. The question she had been keeping to herself for far too long. That's assuming she still had the wherewithal by that time to actually ask instead of just jumping on the boy the moment the opportunity arose.
'Man…I hope everything goes alright.' Tokage thought with a subdued sigh as she continued to nervously tap on the armrest of the car. She was only going to have one shot a this, and she wanted to make it count. 'Well…there's no turning back now.'
-(o)-
Twenty minutes later, the young couple stepped out of the car and made their way toward the first stop of the night.
"We're doing an escape room?" Midoriya asked while looking at Tokage. His face was a mixture of both confusion and genuine excitement.
"Excited?" Tokage asked, a playful smile tugging at her lips as she nudged him lightly with her shoulder.
Midoriya shrugged, his gaze flicking nervously toward the door the closer they got to the entrance. "I've never done one of these before. What if we can't figure out the puzzles?"
Tokage giggled after seeing the boy's trepidation. She almost forgot how cute he was when he acted all nervous like this. "We'll be fine. I've done a few of these before with my family. I'm pretty sure the two of us will be able to handle it without breaking a sweat."
The young couple then walked inside the small but intriguing building, where the air was thick with the scent of mystery and adventure. Upon entering, a cheerful-looking man who appeared to be in his mid-twenties with short, mint-green hair greeted them. The man quickly introduced himself as Shogo, the owner of the establishment. It was easy for Tokage to recognize the man since she had seen his face in photos before. Although his current style was way different from when he was still a sidekick.
"It's nice to finally meet you, Tsunemori-san!" Tokage greeted the man with a friendly bow.
The man's eyes twinkled as he shook Tokage's hand. "Please, Shogo's fine. I've heard a lot about you from Nemuri-san. I'm so glad you decided to drop by!" The man then glanced at Midoriya, giving him a welcoming nod. "And you must be the handsome boyfriend! I hope you're ready to solve some puzzles today!"
Before they knew it, Midoriya and Tokage were already in the middle of their game.
Just like they had done many times before during class, the two greenettes worked together to solve puzzles, find clues hidden in plain sight, and even managed to laugh whenever they got stuck on a particularly tricky riddle. Funnily enough, Midoriya was surprisingly good at this sort of thing. It took a while for Tokage to realize it, but the 'telekinesis' user was the one who ended up getting the answers to most of the challenges they came across.
As soon as the two got into the rhythm of working together, Tokage could see his focus shift as Midoriya locked onto every little detail that came up. He wasn't just thinking about the puzzles; he was genuinely enjoying the challenge. Tokage could see the way his eyes lit up when they found a key or solved a particularly tricky riddle, and it made her heart swell with affection. She definitely enjoyed seeing this more intense side of him. It was a rare treat.
As the clock ticked down, the two hero students made their final push out of the escape room. For a brief moment, Tokage's pulse quickened, not from the pressure of the game, but from the anticipation of what would come next. She could tell that Midoriya was enjoying the experience, and her hope for a successful night grew stronger with each passing second.
Just before the giant timer on the wall hit zero, the door to the escape room swung open. They had successfully completed the challenge with seconds to spare.
"That was incredible!" Midoriya exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement. "I didn't think we'd make it, but we did!"
Tokage gave the boy a confident grin. "I told you we could do it!" She nudged his shoulder playfully. "You were way better at those puzzles than I expected though."
"Well, you were great too." Midoriya shot back with a shy smile, scratching the back of his head. "I'm glad you suggested this."
"Maybe we can come back sometime." The girl suggested, her heart racing with the thought of what would come next. "This was way more fun than I thought it would be."
"Yeah, definitely." Midoriya agreed, his eyes bright with enthusiasm.
Without any reason to delay, the young couple exited the escape room and made their way back to the car. Next up was the day spa. And Tokage was really starting to feel the pressure build up the closer they got to their destination.
-(o)-
Once the young couple arrived at the spa, Tokage could tell that Midoriya was much more relaxed now compared to when the date first started. The tension that had been on his shoulders when they first left the school had disappeared and was replaced by the soft, calm energy that the spa atmosphere naturally encouraged. Naturally, the young couple wasted no time slipping into a pair of plush, silk robes and settled down for a light, healthy dinner.
'Gotta make sure we have enough energy for later.' The girl thought to herself as she popped a piece of freshly made sushi into her mouth.
While the two enjoyed their meal, they were delighted by the faint, soothing music that played softly in the background. Along with the scent of lavender and eucalyptus that filled the air around them. It felt like the two of them had stepped into an entirely different world, one that allowed Tokage to briefly forget the outside pressures and simply enjoy the moment with her boyfriend.
Not too long after they finished their food, Midoriya and Tokage were escorted to the private hot spring bath. A special luxury the girl managed to arrange in advance thanks to the owner of the spa being one of Kayama's street contacts from before she became a teacher.
"Man, that feels nice…" Midoriya said with a smile as slowly dropped his body into the hot spring.
"No kidding." Tokage replied with a smile of her own.
The warm, mineral-rich water soon enveloped them as they both completely submerged their bodies, and Tokage instantly felt her muscles begin to relax. The girl made sure to enjoy the quiet intimacy of the moment. Especially since Midoriya was right beside her, his presence comforting as they enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the hot spring.
As the steam rose around them, Tokage soon found herself growing bolder with each passing minute. She had spent so long thinking about this, planning it all down to the smallest detail. She wanted Midoriya to know how deeply she cared for him, and how she was ready to take their relationship to the next level. And now was the perfect time for her the young woman to make her move.
The quiet, private space of the spa was perfect for the occasion, and as two sets of green eyes met across the steaming water, Tokage felt a rush of warmth take over her body. Without so much as a thought, she moved toward Midoriya. Their faces now only inches apart as they peered into each other's eyes.
Midoriya's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't pull away. Tokage took that as a sign that he was ready for more, and she pressed her lips gently to his, testing the waters.
At first, the kiss was soft, tentative—but as their lips met a second time, the intensity deepened. Tokage could feel his heart racing against hers, and her own pulse quickened in response. In no time, the kiss became more passionate, more desperate, as though they were both trying to convey everything they felt for each other in that one moment.
Suddenly, the two broke apart. And Tokage couldn't help but smile at the boy as she tried finally to work up the nerve to pop the question.
"Izuku…" The girl said softly as she traced a finger on his chest, her voice barely above a whisper. "Don't you think it's time we finally took this relationship to the next level? Like seriously…at this point we've done everything except go all the way. And to be honest, I don't think I can hold out any longer."
Midoriya's gaze was intense as the meaning of his girlfriend's words quickly dawned on him. His eyes were full of both desire and something deeper.
"Yeah, I t-think so…." The boy replied, his voice hoarse with nervousness. "Only i-if you want to, though…."
Despite the lump that suddenly developed in her throat, Tokage felt her confidence begin to surge. That was exactly what she wanted to hear.
"Honestly…" Midoriya then said, his face now as red as a freshly picked strawberry. "I've been thinking about this too. I wasn't sure how to bring it up without coming off as weird... but, I've wanted to do it for a while now."
'Oh thank God!'
Tokage felt a wave of relief wash over her, followed by an overwhelming sense of joy. At least now she had confirmation that her boyfriend really did want her in that way. And that she wasn't the only one who wanted to push things further.
"Well then, freckles…why don't we move this party back to the room? We still have it reserved for another couple of hours and I'd hate for all this effort I went through to go to waste." The girl then whispered with a radiant smile on her face.
With that, Midoriya and Tokage exited the hot spring and quickly went back to their room, where the next step awaited them. The moment had come, and Tokage knew that this was the right time for both of them. She felt a boldness that had been bubbling inside her, and she smiled mischievously as she reached for him, guiding him toward the futon that lay in the center of the room.
Needless to say, the young couple spent the next couple of hours getting to know each other on a much deeper level than they previously thought possible. Thankfully, Tokage had the foresight to stash some condoms in her purse before leaving the school.
"Hmm…." Kayama said in between bites of her meal.
"Something wrong?" Urie asked the woman while taking a sip from his wine glass.
"No…" The woman shook her head. "It just feels like…something really important just happened. But I can't tell what that something might be."
"Weird." The blue-haired man shrugged before going back to eating his food. "You think it might have something to do with the school? Aren't you the one in charge of watching over the first-year dorms this weekend?"
The weird feeling seemed to linger for a few seconds before the 'somnambulist' quirk user decided to shrug it off. "Oh well, it's probably not important anyway. And if it is, I'll figure it out whenever I get back."
And just like that, the two of them continued with their dinner as if everything was normal. Kayama still had some time before she had to be back at U.A., and the woman was determined to enjoy the rest of their evening before having to spend the rest of her weekend babysitting the future heroes of Japan.
"What the hell?" Hisashi Midoriya looked up from his desk after feeling a slight chill.
"Something wrong, sweetie?" Angelica, the man's girlfriend, asked him after walking out of the kitchen with a fresh tray of tacos in hand. She was a beautiful woman in her early fifties with long, red hair and golden eyes that practically glowed in the dark.
"No…" The man replied with a skeptical look on his face. "I just had this weird feeling…like something really important just happened. But I don't know what…."
"Weird." The woman shrugged before sitting down on the sofa and turning on the television.
Hisashi decided to simply shrug off whatever this feeling was. If something important did happen he was sure he was going to find out about it eventually. So for now, the man was fine with just forgetting this ever happened. That being said, something told him that he should probably give his son a call sometime soon. It's been a while since they talked.
"Hmm…I wonder how Izuku's doing?" Hisashi then said absentmindedly after closing the window on his computer and getting up from his desk.
"Oh yeah, that reminds me!" The woman then said with an excited look on her face. "When am I going to get to meet that son of yours? Didn't you say that you were planning on asking him to come spend his summer break over here this year?"
"I still have to talk to my ex-wife about it. I was going to bring it up when I flew back to Japan after that whole kidnapping incident, but it just didn't feel like a good time back then to ask her about it."
"Good point." The woman frowned while folding her arms across her chest. "To be honest, I'm really looking forward to meeting him. I saw some of the footage of him and that other Esper hero a while back and I was thoroughly impressed. The kid's got more talent than some of the sidekicks I manage. Hell, I'm kind of tempted to offer him a spot at our agency whenever I finally see him."
Hisashi couldn't help but laugh after hearing that. "I didn't know that Director Danvers was open to recruiting foreign high schoolers who're barely old enough to drive."
Angelica chuckled in return. "Didn't you hear on the news? The Avenger Agency just recruited a young speedster hero named Silverwind who's fresh out of high school. And I'm pretty sure the boss wouldn't mind adding another up-and-coming young hero to the roster."
"Don't worry." Hisashi said as he took his spot on the sofa next to the woman. "You'll have your chance to give him your sales pitch soon. Besides, I'm sure that Izuku would love to know that the retired hero, Firestar, is interested in recruiting him. Fair warning though, I'm pretty sure that Blizzard already has him locked in for the foreseeable future."
After another quick laugh, the couple shared a quick kiss before sitting back and enjoying the rest of their date night.
[Later That Night]
As Tokage and Midoriya returned to the 1-B dorm later that evening, the both of them seemed to glow as they entered the building. There was a visible change in the air around them—a warmth that the both of them seemed to radiate with each step. And the way that they were walking together, side by side with fingers intertwined, seemed a bit out of character for the both of them. Not only that, but the soft smiles on their faces and the quiet joy in their eyes were enough to tell anyone who saw them that something special must've happened between class 1-B's resident couple.
Their classmates, some of whom were hanging out in the common area, couldn't help but glance at the couple as they passed by. Some raised their eyebrows in surprise at the change in their demeanor while taking note of the different energy in the air. And the more perceptive students like Komori and Monoma could see that there was something different about the young couple, even if no one could pinpoint what that something was. But neither Midoriya nor Tokage cared. They were in their own little world right now, their bond stronger than anything else around them.
"What's up with those two?" Kamakiri asked the group with a confused look on his face.
"Beats me." Monoma said with a nonchalant shrug. "But honestly, do we really want to know what would have those two acting all giddy after barely making it back before curfew?"
"...good point…."
"Mhmmm." Kodai nodded before the students went back to what they were doing before the two walked into the building.
Back with the young couple, Tokage gave Midoriya's hand a reassuring squeeze before they stepped inside the boy's bedroom. The room felt quieter than usual, and the soft glow of the lamps created a rather peaceful ambiance. Everything about this moment felt intimate, personal—like a private space where nothing could interrupt them.
"So…" Midoriya began, glancing over at her with a shy but content expression. "What now?"
Tokage smiled as she sat down on the boy's bed with a soft sigh of relief. She was thoroughly enjoying seeing this suddenly bashful side of him. It was cute, especially when you consider what the two of them had just finished doing barely half an hour ago.
"Now? Now, we just... enjoy this moment." She patted the spot beside her, motioning for him to join her. When Midoriya sat down beside her, Tokage leaned her head gently on his shoulder, closing her eyes for a brief moment.
"I'm really glad you agreed to go out with me tonight." The girl whispered, her voice warm but with a hint of vulnerability that only he could hear.
Midoriya's eyes softened as he looked down at her. "I'm glad too. Today was... amazing." He reached over and gently tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, his fingers brushing against her skin in a tender, almost reverent touch. "I had a lot of fun."
Tokage then turned her head to meet his gaze, and for a moment, everything else in the world faded away. There was no need for words—everything they had shared throughout the day, every moment they had spent together, was perfectly clear between them. The weight of what had happened earlier, the way their relationship had deepened, hung in the air, and it was undeniable. It was a silent understanding that neither of them needed to verbalize.
Midoriya shifted slightly, looking at her with a mixture of excitement and newfound determination.
"So… did you have anything else planned for the rest of the night?" The boy asked, his voice low but full of promise.
"No, not really." Tokage replied, even though she definitely had one thing in mind that the two could do until it was time to go to bed. The girl proceeded to wiggle her eyebrows in a suggestive manner in her boyfriend's direction. "But…if there's something that you had in mind, I'm in quite a good a mood at the moment, so I might not say no…. But, fair warning, I'm still a bit sore from earlier so you're definitely going to have to do most of the work this time."
After a quick laugh, the two of them sat there for a while, wrapped in the quiet comfort of each other's presence. Outside the window, the last hints of the setting sun slowly faded into the twilight sky, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. But for them, it didn't matter at the moment. They were just glad to be in each other's presence.
-(o)-
As Tokage leaned back against her pillows, a soft, contented feeling radiated throughout her body. At the moment, the girl found herself quietly reflecting on the day's events, thinking about all that had led her to this point. The day had unfolded just as she'd hoped, and in some ways, even surpassed her expectations.
The two greenettes had finally achieved a major milestone in their relationship. It felt like a shift had occurred. And as she watched Izuku sleeping beside her, his gentle smile hinting at his inner peace, Tokage knew he felt it too. This wasn't just another day, it marked the beginning of a new stage of their relationship.
'Man…when did I get so sappy?' The girl thought to herself with a silent chuckle. 'If this is what good sex does to you then I can see why people go crazy all the time.'
With Midoriya lying next to her, his arm resting across her waist, Tokage closed her eyes and savored the comforting warmth of her boyfriend's body. The steady rhythm of his breath calmed her, offering a sense of reassurance that surrounded her like a protective embrace.
With him beside her, Tokage allowed herself to fully unwind, eventually drifting off to sleep, knowing that Midoriya was there by her side.
A/N: Okay…so…I originally planned on getting this chapter out last month. However, I ended up getting writer's block and writing my own original story ( a short story trilogy really), and that took away all of my attention. So, I apologize for not getting this out to you guys sooner.
1. Did I really wait all the way until Chapter 69 for Midoriya and Tokage to finally do the deed? Yes, yes I did. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. Yes, I am immature. Deal with it.
2. I know that some of you might be disappointed that I didn't actually write out the big scene. But to be honest, I am absolute garbage at writing "lemons" and I would rather not subject you guys to my horrible attempt at trying to write one. Plus, it's just really not my style.
3. There was a pretty big hint about something that will happen to Midoriya during the time skip in this chapter. But you guys will just have to wait and see what I have planned. I will admit that it's a last-minute addition, but it's something that I really want to do. And it will tie into the whole Derelicta plot later on.
4. Speaking of the time skip, I really want to move on to that part of the story. However, we still have a few things that need to be closed out in this part of the story before moving on. Right now, I'm torn between two normal-sized chapters to close out the current time period, or having one super-long chapter and then doing the time skip. Let me know what you guys want to see and I'll make a decision before I start writing the next chapter (whenever the hell that might be).
Like always, thank you for reading this dumpster fire of a story, and feel free to give me your feedback. I hope that you all have a wonderful day!
