Dumbledore's Army
The next day Nico woke up being shaken up by Jason
"Come on Nico! We're all waiting for you so we can get breakfast!"
"You guys go without me. I'll come in a couple minutes." Nico mumbled pulling the covers over his head. When Jason left he reluctantly got up and went to change. As soon as he left their room he saw that Will was waiting for him outside. Nico blushed and felt skeletal butterflies rush through him.
"I thought I told you guys to go without me."
"I thought I'd wait." Will said standing up to go get breakfast. "But I am starving!"
As soon as they walked into the Great hall and sat down, Nico was greeted by two tall red headed twins.
"Is it true you scared Malfoy?" One of them asked. "Most people are scared of Malfoy. They think his father will do something to them if they stand up to him."
"People are scared of him?" Will asked. "Nico did one spell and he ran away."
The twins started to laugh. "Of course he did. Also I don't think we have introduced ourselves properly. I'm Fred, that's George. Ron's brothers."
"Nice to meet you." WIll say smiling.
"Nico help me." Percy groaned. "Annabeth is begging me to read Hogwarts a History. Somehow she finished it in a night!"
"Percy you should." Annabeth told him. "Then you wouldn't get lost so much!"
"With my dyslexia, I couldn't get through the first page! Speaking of which, how did you finish it?"
"I learned this spell that allows you to change the language. I converted it to Ancient Greek and then read it!"
"Cool trick but still you won't get that book near me!"
"Don't worry Annabeth, it's no use. I've tried to get Harry and Ron to read it for 4 YEARS and they still won't touch it." Hermione said.
"We don't need to Hermione, we have you!'' Ron smirked. Hermione rolled her eyes at that. "See what I mean?"
Nico took a slice of toast, he didn't feel like eating much unlike Percy who was drowning pancakes in syrup.
He finished eating as a ghost came up to him. "Hello there. Nice one scaring Malfoy. The Bloody Baron was SO embarrassed. No one can defeat my king!"
"Don't call me that here!" Nico whispered so only the ghost could hear him. "Here it's just Nico."
"Alright my lor–never mind, Harry! How good to see you! By the way, will you come to my deathday party next month?"
"Umm, thanks for the offer but I think I would like to stay for the feast this year."
"Oh alright, then." He sighed. "Goodbye!" And with that he glided away.
As Nico was finishing up, They two people bickering loudly outside the Great Hall. The demigods plus Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a couple other wizards went to see what was happening. They walked up to see Professor McGonagall and Umbridge arguing with each other.
"Dolores, you need to teach the school curriculum to the school, not just your ways!" McGonagall exclaimed.
"How dare you! To question my ways is to question the Ministry itself! And therefore Cornelius too!"
"They continued bickering until Umbrdige stepped forward and said, "I think Hogwarts is in need of serious help. I think Cornelius would like to hear of this immediately." And with that she stomped away.
Nico and the rest of the demigods didn't know what that meant so they shrugged and went to class. All he knew was that Umbridge would probably get more power in the school and no one wanted that.
Potions was first. One of Nico's least favorite classes. Probably everyone except the Slytherins. All Nico could do was watch as Snape bullied kids and favor the Slytherins. Snape especially hated Harry and this boy named Neville Longbottom. But here and there he would get agitated by the demigods and take away points for some reason just because their potions exploded.
"Mr. Jackson, why is your potion blue when it should be purple?" Snape snarled. Percy being the idiot he was, responded with, "Blue looks better." That got him to lose many points causing the Gryffindors to groan. Anynabeth and Hermione's on the other hand, looked perfect. Snape noticed that and removed points for being "tryhards" which agitated Nico because they did nothing wrong. Annabeth did not like this insult and had to be held back by Hermione so she wouldn't yell at him.
Charms was next. Nico didn't hate this class that much but he was so bad at it. All the demigods were except for Hazel and Annabeth. The only spell Percy could do perfectly was the one that shot water out of his wand. Nico and Will on the other hand couldn't cast a spell without the wand doing something of its own.
Next class. Care of Magical Creatures. All eight of them enjoyed this class. Hagrid was a nice teacher and the thestrals fascinated him. Malfoy and his goons were the only thing that Nico hated. Today they were feeding the thestrals. The people that couldn't see them had no idea where to place the food. For some reason, thestrals liked Nico. They were the first too. Most animals could feel his aura of death and just ran away
Finally they had the day to themselves after just making it out of Umbridge's class and made their way to the common room to finish the pile of homework they'd been assigned.
"How are we supposed to finish this in a week?" Percy complained. "Two entire essays. Two!"
"I'm gonna get so many points taken off for not spelling the words correctly." Annabeth groaned. All the demigods agree with her as they too had dyslexia and would probably fail. They did a couple of assignments and decided to call it a day and went to bed.
Over the next week Umbridge had been nominated as the High Inquisitor at Hogwarts whatever that meant but now she was putting up new rules and everyone hated her.
"This is bullshit!" Hermione exclaimed after classes in the common room that day. "We're not learning anything and now she's taken control over the school. We have to do something!"
"What are you gonna do Hermione?" Leo asked. "It's not like we can just hire a new teacher or something."
Hermione's face lit up. "That's a great idea! But who would be the teacher? It could be a student. It could be–"
"Harry could do it." Ron interrupted. "I mean, Hermione, you've seen him. He fought You Know Who like every year!"
"That's a brilliant idea Ron!" Hermione exclaimed. "Finally something useful has come out of your mouth."
"Hey!" Ron complained.
"Wait, why me?" Harry said. "Everyone thinks I'm a freak and I'm not even that good at magic."
"You're the best here, Harry," Hermione said. "Also you have real experience."
"Alright, fine".
"Great, I'll tell everyone to meet up somewhere in Hogsmeade tomorrow and we can see who else wants to learn." Hermione said as she stood up.
"Hold up," Percy started, "where are we going to have these lessons?"
"Good point, We'll decide that there." Hermione finished as she stood up and left.
"Great, now I'm a teacher." Harry muttered as he got up to call it a day."
"G'night" Percy said as they all left to get some sleep before tomorrow.
