Episode XXXIII (33): Trouble in Toontown Part 2

Jessica took the unconscious boy, she bound his wrists and ankles with some white fabric and placed him in the backseat of her car.

Zander asked, "Natius! What happened?"

The phone was silent.

He hurried to find Natius, hoping he wasn't too late.

Zander saw Jessica Rabbit closing the car door and standing as though she was blocking something

He asked, "Did you see a young boy with black hair?"

"Why, no, I haven't." Jessica lied.

Zander stated, "If you see him, please notify me."

Jessica replied, "I will see what I can do."

Zander found a black touch phone, but before he would examine it, the young man suddenly heard gunshots inside the studio!

He hurried to see what the commotion was about. He also hoped Natius wasn't in the middle of something.

Zander got inside the building to find RK Maroon shot dead.

Grant was telling the heroes about what happened to Natius as he saw the whole thing play out.

Zander looked out the window to see a car driving away and he saw an unconscious boy in the backseat!

"If that's Natius, that woman's going to pay for tricking me." Zander growled.

Zander examined the touch phone and realized it was Natius' as evident from an image of the Flame Swordsman as a lock screen.

He had to find a way to catch up with the car. Well, after all the times he watched the film, he was certain he had an idea on where they were taking Natius.

Zander grabbed a nearby bike, and he began speeding up to the car and when he reached the window, he saw Natius unconscious in the backseat!

For a split second, Zander lost control of the bike, but he quickly pressed down on the brakes located on the handlebars, stopping the bike before it would become a crash as it made a screeching sound.

He snapped, "That deceptive lady is going to be answering questions from me!"

Zander spotted Valiant and the other heroes stopping right behind him and the teens got out of the car.

Mahad asked noticing that Natius was not with him, "Where's Natius?"

"Jessica Rabbit has kidnapped him!" he shouted.

Bianca asked, "What?! Where did she take him to?"

"I have an idea on where she's taking him. Come on!" Zander cried, leading the way.

The heroes journeyed through the tunnel, and they stumbled across Toontown!

It wasn't called Toontown for nothing. There were so many cartoons going about with their usual routines. Even the buildings, the trees, and the sky were animated.

Bianca asked, "How are we going to find him now? I just hope that this doesn't become a carbon copy of that damned action movie with Qui-Gon Jinn going after traffickers."

Danyal stated, "That movie doesn't exist yet. Though it has made a good parody on a certain animated sitcom."

Zander had his doubts. "The toons may be being persecuted, but I doubt any toon would want to have anything to with criminal activity of this level."

Mahad laughed, "Especially if there are certain characters that are annoying as hell!"

"Let's hurry and find Natius," said Mahad.

They began to look around and Zander noticed the tracks from Jessica's car, and he looked at the dark alley and he cried, "Hurry!"

The heroes were just about to leave for the alley, Valiant walked into a hotel convinced that Natius was being held there!

Meanwhile in a dark alley, Natius awoke to find himself in the backseat of a car and he struggled to move forward, and he got to the window of the car, and he saw Officer Goofy talking to Jessica.

Natius yelled unaware that the windows were closed, "Help! Help me!"

Goofy asked, "What was that?"

"Nothing." Jessica lied.

Goofy decided to take her word for truth and walked away.

The heroes made their way to the alley as Goofy left the alley. Looking closely, Zander saw Natius in the car. "Hey!" Zander shouted to Jessica.

Jessica Rabbit asked, "What is it this time?"

Zander approached her. "You lied to me!"

"What are you talking about?" Jessica asked.

"I asked you if you saw a boy with dark hair and you lied to me," Zander said again. "That's my friend in your car."

Zander ripped the backseat door open to find a dazed and panicked Natius!

Zander turned back to Jessica, and he asked, "What the hell did you do to him?"

"I haven't done anything," Jessica lied. "He's been like that since he's been in the car."

Zander noticed that Natius was still under the effects of the toon chloroform as evident from his dull eyes.

Zander pulled him out of the car to find and he took his friend's dagger and cut the bonds on his wrists and ankles!

Zander held him to keep him from falling. "Easy there, buddy. I got you."

"Zander?" He asked, sounding groggy.

Natius asked hoping the toon chloroform was out of his system, "Hey, so where am I?"

Zander answered, "You're with your friends now."

Natius felt as if his mind was still swimming in darkness, struggling to reach the surface. He could still taste a bit of the chloroform in his mouth and his head was hurting. "My head is killing me," he groaned. "I feel sick."

Zander kept the boy in balance.

Bianca asked, "What did you do?"

"I was forced to breathe in toon chloroform," said Natius. "And it's exactly like that stuff used in TV and movies. God, that cliché has been done to death no matter what form of entertainment you use."

Valiant stated, "You chickened out on us."

Bianca snarled at Jessica and Zander held Bianca's wrist just as she was about to slap the toon woman in the face, "What did you do to him you crazy bitch?!"

Jeanette cried as she tried to hold her back with Mahad's help, "Calm down Bianca! I know how you feel, but I bet she was trying to protect him."

Jessica finally decided to confess. "It's true. I wanted to take the boy someplace safe."

"So, you resorted to kidnapping?" Bianca asked angrily.

Natius said to her, "Not only that, but she also forced me to breathe in toon chloroform and when I woke up, I found myself in that car. By the way, when I tried to get Goofy's attention, but Goofy didn't even notice!"

Jessica confessed, "I closed the windows to ensure that you would not draw attention to anyone."

Valiant stated to Natius, "I thought you chickened out on us back in the studio."

Natius asked as he tried to keep himself calm after going through an experience that would haunt him for years to come, "Why would you jump to a false conclusion like that?"

"He probably didn't see what happened." Mahad was saying, "I doubted you ran away like a coward."

Natius stated bluntly to Valiant, "When the toon chloroform seeped into my senses, I felt very lightheaded and blacked out. Afterwards, I was placed in the backseat, my wrists and ankles were bound by some white cloth fabric. I even tried to scream for help, but I didn't run off like a coward. I stood my ground and asked her why she wanted to do this."

Bianca stated to Jessica, "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't cut you to ribbons with my spinning wheel shurikens."

"I didn't mean any harm." Jessica was saying.

Bianca stated, "You still resorted to the crime of kidnapping."

"Besides, too much of that stuff could have killed me." Natius added.

Jessica stated, "I did this, so you wouldn't get hurt or killed. I'm also sure that someone told you that toon chloroform is not as lethal as the chloroform you humans use."

Natius asked, "You never answered my question: Why would you do that in the first place?!"

Jessica got close enough to whisper to Natius, "I've heard rumors that someone is after you. When I saw you, I knew I had to do something to keep you safe."

Natius didn't believe her. "Safe from who?"

Jessica replied, "Doom. I tried to stop him from killing RK Maroon, but I was too late."

Natius cried, "What about Mr. Virgil? Is there a way to save him?"

"Unfortunately, I don't know," she said honesty. "But I can't let you go looking for him. If Doom sees you, he'll likely try to kill you."

Natius replied, "I can't leave Mr. Virgil to be stranded in the world of Disney as a man enslaved by a hypocritical demon! I hate the thought of him taking his own life."

"Where's Doom now?" Zander demanded. "Where's he keeping Mr. Virgil?"

Judge Doom yelled, "You brats will never stop me! Meet me at Toontown's Tome Treasury!"

Natius growled and asked, "Is that a threat?"

"Whether or not it is," Bianca was saying, "I say we go there and try to reach out to the soul of Mr. Virgil "

Mahad snarled at Judge Doom, "Give us back our history teacher! What did he ever do to deserve to be your vessel?!"

Judge Doom answered, "That day Mr. Virgil lost his patience with Brandon Kyle; it gave me the perfect opportunity. That very same boy who gave you Ignatius, that rattlesnake back in 2010. When you lost your maternal grandmother."

"If you want to know, you will come to the library as I have ordered." Judge Doom said and disappeared into the shadows.

The heroes journeyed to find the library guarded by the weasels.

Natius asked if Jessica had some toon chloroform, but Jessica told him that the glass breaking will get Judge Doom's attention.

Bianca had an idea, and she asked Jessica if she has a rag to so she would dampen the rag with a small amount of the toon chloroform.

Jessica took out a handkerchief and used a small splash and she asked Bianca to give her only five shurikens with the sleeping spell.

Bianca stated, "I hope you know what you are doing."

Jessica began to coat the edges on each sleeping shuriken with toon chloroform and she gave Bianca the shurikens back and Bianca threw one shuriken towards Greasy. This caused the weasel to collapse and suddenly, he began to fall into a deeper sleep.

Bianca began to throw one shuriken after another and the weasels one by one collapsed out cold.

"Wow, look at this place," Mahad said in awe.

Bianca armed herself with her shurikens. "We're here, so where is the creep?"

Judge Doom was walking down the stairs and he stated, "You came."

Natius asked, "What is your plan?"

He sneered and said, "It involves your teacher Mr. Virgil."

Judge Doom, stated, "I plan on keeping his body as my vessel to ensure that Toontown feels my wrath!"

Natius was filled with a deep and terrible rage. "I'm not going to let you do that!" He snarled, charging towards the judge.

Judge Doom snapped, "I have been waiting since 1947 for a human vessel, and I intend to keep it!"

Natius tried striking the judge with his dagger, hoping to merely injure the man but the judge kept dodging the strikes!

"Come now, is that the best you can do?" Judge Doom asked.

Natius turned to his friends. "Get behind Mr. Virgil while I keep him busy!"

Natius that Mr. Virgil's eyes changed into his natural brown ones as he tried to fight back against the possession.

Mr. Virgil cried, "Hand over that dagger!"

Natius asked, "What?!"

The dark-haired man tried to reach out for the dagger, but Natius was keeping the dagger away from the man as he asked, "What are you doing?!"

Mr. Virgil gave him a look of sadness. "I'm sorry. I wish there was another way."

Natius had a feeling he knew what his teacher was thinking. "No! Don't do this!"

Bianca asked, "What does he mean by that?"

Danyal commented with sadness in her tone as she felt tears welding in her eyes, "Mr. Virgil is going to use the dagger on himself."

Natius tried forcing the dagger away from his teacher's grip. "No," he protested. "I won't let you!"

Mr. Virgil replied, "I'm sorry, but it's better than being enslaved by a hypocritical demon."

Natius cried as fear for his teacher was coursing through his body, "No! There has to be another way to save you!"

"I wish there was." Mr. Virgil said with remorse in his tone.

Natius wouldn't give up. "We can find one! Please, just hang on!"

Bianca asked, "Should we restrain Mr. Virgil?"

"Yes, but hurry!" Natius pleaded.

Mr. Virgil wasn't going to wait for them to have the opportunity to restrain him. Once again, he tried taking the dagger.

Natius tried to keep the dagger away from the man!

Zander and Mahad grabbed their teacher by his arms, hoping to restrain him, but Mr. Virgil kept trying to force them off.

Bianca held the man's wrists behind his back, and she asked, "What is wrong with you?"

"Don't you understand?" Mr. Virgil asked. "If this madman possesses me any longer, he'll kill you children. I can't let him do that."

Mr. Virgil fought off the grips and he grabbed the dagger, and he cried holding the dagger towards his own heart, "Judge Doom, you shall die tonight!"

"Mr. Virgil, no!" Natius screamed.

But he was too late. Mr. Virgil drove the dagger into his heart and felt a painful burn coursing through his body.

He heard Judge Doom's voice whispering, "How secular of you to take your own life. But in vain. These children will always have enemies, some more powerful than me."

Mr. Virgil stopped gasping and fell into a lifeless heap. All of the heroes continued to watch in horror at what had just transpired.

"No," Natius choked. He raises his voice and screams, "NOOOO!"

Danyal stared at Mr. Virgil's dead body in shock.

As both souls emerged from the recently deceased man, Simeon's soul landed on the right side while his captor was on the left. Unfortunately, things began to take a turn for the worst for the wicked judge, Judge Doom felt a burning sensation on his feet and was shocked to see that his boots were changing into a pair of glowing red-hot iron shoes.

Judge Doom's soul was about to rise into Heaven, when suddenly powerful burning chains began to emerge from the ground and pinned the cruel judge on the floor of the library. He looked up to see Saint Michael the Archangel who looked at him with anger as he descended to the floor.

Judge Doom cried, "I didn't die!"

Michael stated, "Unfortunately, I have to place both yours and that man's soul on trial."

Mr. Virgil looked at the Archangel nervously knowing that he took his own life to protect his students from a murderous man. Yet he knew he had to face the consequences of committing a tragic sin. He began to remember a saint whose patronage would be for penitent and prodigal souls, Saint Dismas. He began to send a brief prayer to Saint Dismas hoping the saint would vouch for him.

A brief second later, a man with black hair and brown eyes dressed in light black robes that would befit a saint with a troubled past and he had powerful wings. His name was Dismas. He was the patron saint of prodigal and penitent souls.

Michael asked, "Why are you here?"

Dismas answered, "I have come here in defense of this man's soul."

Judge Doom asked outraged, "What?! He needs to suffer!"

Dismas retorted, "Be silent. All that you say will be turned against you if do not keep that forked tongue behind those crooked teeth."

Judge Doom glared at his former host as if telling him in his thoughts, "You'll be joining me in punishment, Simeon sooner than you think."

Michael stated to Judge Doom, "You, Judge Doom are on trial for all the terrible transgressions you have committed in life. That includes three counts of murder, abuse of power, falsifying information, and taking over a human man against his will. You even mentally abused him."

Michael took out the Scale of Judgement and Judge Doom knew what it meant.

Judge Doom begged, "Please, have mercy. I was trying to make this world perfect without those pathetic drawings interfering. Plus, I needed the second chance for a better world with no toons. Send my host to Hell for taking his own life."

The two angels looked at Simeon Virgil. While it was true that he took his own life, they knew it was not an act of cowardice. It was to protect his students.

Dismas argued to Judge Doom, "I have just witnessed the entire battle thanks to Saint Peter and his death was neither out of cowardice nor self-pity. In the circumstances of this case, it was sacrificial. Greater love has no one than this: To lay down one's life for one's friends."

Michael plucked a feather from Dismas's wing, but it didn't faze Dismas as the saint was hoping to spare Simeon Virgil's soul from eternal punishment.

The feather was placed on one end of the scale and Simeon asked in concern for his own soul, "Wasn't that method used by the ancient Egyptians?"

Michael answered, "That's correct. If the heart is lighter than or in balance with the feather, the soul would either get a reincarnation or entry to Heaven in our case. It ultimately depends on the cultural and religious beliefs of the individual. However, if the heart is heavier than the feather. The soul is condemned to see the Judge of the Damned, King Minos."

Simeon Virgil was praying for his own soul in hopes that his soul wouldn't be condemned forever.

To Simeon's surprise, Judge Doom had his heart removed first, but it was in the form of a black toon heart, and it was placed on the other end of the scale. Simeon was not surprised that Judge Doom was a toon all along, as he felt his ideals were delusional and pathetic. He noticed the heart becoming heavier than the feather.

Ted Valiant began smirk at this as he said, "Bet you regret possessing him now."

Judge Doom tried to once again pin the blame on Mr. Virgil by begging, "He needs to be punished for committing-"

"You have said this once already, and once is enough," said Dismas.

Michael noticed the heart of Judge Doom heavy as a stone.

Simeon Virgil smirked at his captor, "Your luck's run out."

Dismas stated to Judge Doom, "Your sins have weighed down your soul, Doom. It's time that you answer for all the transgressions that you have committed. Among them is treachery."

Judge Doom asked outraged, "What? I didn't commit any treachery!"

"Tell that to the Devil," Mr. Virgil muttered. "He'll throw you into a frozen lake."

Michael cleared his throat. "You're not off the hook either, Simeon Virgil. Your trial begins now, and Judge Doom shall be our witness before he is to be condemned." And the angel held up the scale. On one end was the feather and on the other end was the man's heart.

For a few moments, the balances of the scale shifted because it was counting Simeon's sins as well as his efforts to make things right and correct his mistakes. Simeon was a good man, but that didn't mean he had never sinned in his life.

When it stopped, the angels saw that the end holding the feather was the end that was leaning down. "It has been decided. Simeon Virgil, you have been judged a good man."

Judge Doom was outraged. "There must be some mistake!"

"Our Lord does not make mistakes," Michael reprimanded. He turned his attention back to Mr. Virgil. "You've made many mistakes in your life, Simeon, but you've often repented and sought help in setting things right."

Mr. Virgil looked down. "I'm humbled, Saint Michael, but do I truly deserve mercy for what I've done?"

Michael nodded. "I understand why you would feel scared and beg for mercy, yet at the same time, feel that you deserve punishment for what you brought on yourself. In the beginning, you lost control of your anger towards a student and that led you to be possessed. But by laying down your life for your other students, you helped bring a wicked soul to justice."

Dismas nodded in agreement. "You may have caused your own suffering in the beginning, but in the end, you did what was right."

Mr. Virgil knew the angels were right. "I did this to myself. I caused my own demise. As such, I bear full responsibility."

"And that is why you chose your fate," said Dismas. "By laying down your life, not only were you able to atone for losing your way, but you also protected your students by helping to stop Judge Doom no matter what."

Judge Doom felt the ground shaking and a crevice of fire began to surround him, and he noticed to his horror, a large imposing stone door manifesting before the soul of the wicked judge. It had an imposing inscription that said, "Abandon all hope ye who enter here."

The wicked judge screamed in terror, as a Demon Tide began to erupt from the door and the tide Judge Doom yelled, "Damn you Simeon Renato Virgil!"

Mr. Virgil commented smirking as he noticed more demonic hands violently grabbing the wicked judge dragging Doom into Hell, struggling to pull him off the floor, "Be thankful that you're not facing the Penance Stare of the Ghost Rider. Now you can relive all the misery and pain you've inflicted on not only me, but also my students and all those who suffered under your presence. Hope you regret possessing me."

Judge Doom was pulled off the floor of the library and slammed into the darkness of the stone door. Judge Doom frantically struggled to free himself to no avail as he watched helplessly as the stone door began to seal, with him inside of the door.

Judge Doom shouted as desperately to push the stone back, "No!"

Demon hands continued pulling him deeper into their realm.

Judge Doom awoke from the intense heat, and he began to look around and he looked behind to see a pair of toon demons, one was a chubby, yellow-eyed purple demon named Pain and accompanying him was a small thinner demon with yellow eyes named Panic.

An imposing demon that resembled a cross between a dragon and a lion began to read out the warrant as Pain and Panic turned Judge Doom's face forcing the wicked man to look at a furious King Minos who was standing in front of his throne with his chain and wheel ready to send the Judge to his eternal punishment, "Judge Doom or Baron von Rotten. You have been judged by Christ and the Lord Himself, and I have brought you to the court of King Minos as our next sinner and offender to be judged. He will determine the circle your soul will be damned for eternity. Do you have any final words?"

Judge Doom cried protesting in hopes to get his terrible prayer answered, "Punish Simeon Renato Virgil! He has been mingling with insane drawings! Take those damned shoes off me!"

Hades began to laugh as he pointed out, "Those shoes are what would have happened to Snow White's stepmom if she attended the wedding. Now you get to feel a searing pain and a piercing coldness as you jump into Cocytus, the only difference is that there's no escape routes or exits."

Judge Doom argued outraged, "Those toons have tarnished the world, not me!"

Hades complimented, "What's next haunting algebra books or history textbooks? You should have possessed a politician, but you had to choose a man with the patience of a saint. That's classic but forcing the man to end himself has left a terrible taste even down here."

Judge Doom noticed an imposingly large ancient, spiked wheel with 9 spikes protruding from the outside. Each one correlating with the 9 circles.

He asked nervously, "What's that thing?"

Minos laughed, "My Wheel of Judgement. This will send you to your designated circle."

Judge Doom began to struggle against his restraints, but he suddenly felt searing pain on his feet it was as if Grimhilde was telling him from the 8th circle of this abysmal place that his luck had run out and resistance was pointless.

Judge Doom suddenly felt the sentient chains wrapping around him nine times and felt as though he was reeled in like a fish, and suddenly a wave of piercing cold pain beginning to overpower him as the ninth spike began to brutally impale him and he was rocketed into Cocytus, his voice was silenced by the coldness of the ninth circle as he plummeted into an icy atmosphere and landed six feet under the water.

Judge Doom now more defiant than ever before tried to swim to the surface, but unfortunately for him the hole in the ice was sealed and the wicked judge's hand was pressed against the ice and his body solidified with the ice, forever imprisoned in the lake.

The soul of Mr. Virgil tried talking to his students, but they were too distraught about his death.

Natius felt tears forming in his eyes. "Why?" he sobbed.

Bianca asked, "How could this happen?"

Natius got down and pounded his fists against the ground. "I wanted to rescue him, not lose him!"

Suddenly a familiar face appeared, none other than Master Yen Sid.

Natius asked, "Can you resurrect Mr. Virgil?"

Master Yen Sid answered, "I cannot bring the dead back to life. However, I can allow the soul of Mr. Virgil to be reincarnated as a toon anthropomorphic weasel to redeem him. This form Simeon Virgil will allow you to redeem your soul for Heaven. As for your physical body, it will be buried as you have committed an act to protect your students that cost you your life."

The soul of Simeon Virgil was reincarnated in the form of a toon anthropomorphic weasel with dark brown fur dressed in clothing suitable for a detective.

The weasel opened his eyes and flexed his fingers. Although he was happy to be alive, he was saddened by the concept of having to leave his old life and old identity behind. Other than that, he had to remember that this new life was temporary, as Master Yen Sid established.

Bianca asked Master Yen Sid, "How are we to return home? I don't know if any of us are capable of taking the body of Mr. Virgil to any funeral home."

"The body will have to be returned to his residence before arrangements can be made," Master Yen Sid instructed. "It's important that his family knows of his death. As for you, you can now return home, the border between this world and yours will open again and you'll be able to pass through."

"They'll want answers," said Mahad. "What should we tell them?"

Natius answered, "I don't think that they'll believe what Judge Doom had done to us. What should we tell them Master Yen Sid?"

"Tell them the truth," the sorcerer said. "He was trying to save your lives from a madman who tried to kill you."

Bianca stated, "Thank you Master Yen Sid."

Jeanette felt uncomfortable about carrying a lifeless body even though it was clean.

Mahad saw this and said, "It's all right, Jeanette."

Danyal stated, "I say we should get to that border to see if it's open again."

Jessica Rabbit offered to escort the heroes so they wouldn't have to be burdened by carrying Mr. Virgil's body. "I think we have enough room in the car for all of you."

Natius smiled, "We're going home at last! Whoo!"

So, all of the heroes entered the car. As promised, Jessica brought them to the border that connected their worlds.

Bianca looked around to see a black van driven by Omar with the four others who accompanied the heroes.

Nausicaä looked at the border with confusion and she asked, "This will lead us back to the real world?"

"It will," Jessica promised. "Personally, I've seen many toons come and go between worlds crossing this border."

ianca cried, "What are we waiting around for? Let's go!"

Carefully, the heroes pulled Mr. Virgil's body out of the car and carried it across the border. When they did, at last, the heroes were back in their world.

Natius opened his eyes to see a funeral home that was not far from where he was standing.

He thought about carrying Mr. Virgil's body but thought twice and became worried that the people there would think they were responsible for the death of the man and start questioning them.

Bianca asked, "What should we do about the body? I don't want to be accused of causing his death."

Mahad got an idea. "One of us can go inside and explain what happened and the rest of us can wait here."

Mahad stated, "I will go there to see if there is anyone in charge of the funeral home. Wish me luck."

Mahad stepped inside and saw a man at the front desk. "Excuse me."

The man looked at him. "Yes, how can I help you?"

Mahad explained, "We need your help with arranging a funeral service for Mr. Simeon Virgil, he died sacrificing himself to save me and my friends from a madman."

The clerk was in shock. "Oh, my goodness," he gasped. "Are you and your friends all right?"

"Yes, we are," Mahad answered.

Before arrangements could be made for a funeral, the clerk needed a few additional pieces of information such as the time and cause of the death and the location of the deceased's body.

Mahad answered, "He died on December 8, 2012, at midnight when the madman stabbed him in the heart. He was killed in a library."

Mahad stated, "I sent one of my friends to notify the family."

Bianca ran into the Virgil Residence and when she knocked the door, a man who had dark hair and disciplined blue eyes wearing scrubs suitable for a hypnotherapist. His name was Icarus Virgil, and he asked, "Can I help you with something?"

Bianca had tears streaming down her face and she stated, "Mr. Simeon Virgil has died. He sacrificed himself to protect his students from a madman who would have done a lot worse than that brutal stabbing in the heart."

"What?" Icarus didn't want to believe it.

"It's the truth," said Bianca.

Icarus asked, "How did this happen?"

"My friends and I were attacked at a library and your dad took a stab in the heart trying to protect us from the madman."

"Hold on, is my father's killer still out there?" Icarus asked. "What does he look like? I'll submit a report to the police and have them find him."

Bianca answered, "The madman was arrested, and he's been imprisoned for the murder of your father."

Icarus was pleased to hear that. "Where's my father's body now?"

"My friends and I have been able to secure the body, and we want to help with arranging a funeral so you and your folks can bury him."

Icarus asked, "You and your friends are not hurt, are they?"

Bianca dried her eyes. "Physically, we're not hurt, but emotionally, we are. We just lost a good and caring teacher, and you lost a loving father."

Icarus stated, " Thank you for your honesty. "

"I can also take you and your family to the funeral home," she offered.

"That's all right," Icarus replied. "You can just give us the address and we'll stop there and take care of things."

Bianca gave him the address to the funeral home.

Icarus thanked her and dismissed her. Right now, this was a lot for him to take in and he needed some time to handle the situation. Bianca understood and rejoined her friends.

Natius asked, "How did it go?"

"He didn't take it too well," she answered. "One of Mr. Virgil's sons."

Natius wasn't surprised. No one takes death very well.

"But he wasn't overdramatic about it," continued Bianca. "He wanted revenge, but I told him his father's killer was brought to justice already and preparations will be made for a funeral. And when I told him his father was trying to protect us from a madman, he didn't accuse us. He asked about our safety. He's just as emotionally distressed about it as we are."

Natius asked, "What about the school the students are going to be really upset about it."

Mahad stated, "I hope Father Hugo knows how to do memorial services."

Natius replied, "He has done funerary services in the past since 1983. So, I think this would be no different from the many he had done."

Another thought crossed Mahad's mind. "The staff will need to arrange for a substitute teacher before they can find someone to take Mr. Virgil's position."

Bianca asked, "How are we to inform the staff about this?"

"I don't know," he told her. "They don't always listen to us because they don't think most of us are trustworthy."

Bianca stated, "You have a valid point there."

"We have to try," said Natius. "They need to know the truth."

Natius noticed that a science teacher who was a slender woman by the name of Susan Marion she had chestnut brown hair and disciplined green eyes. She was wearing a flannel shirt from 1994 and black jeans with walking boots. She worked in the same school as Simeon Virgil, but Natius had to try to tell someone who would know Mr. Virgil.

He yelled, "Excuse me, ma'am. I have some bad news to inform you, Mr. Virgil has died. He sacrificed himself to protect his students from a madman who was threatening me and my friends with a knife."

Susan Marion asked, "What? Are you and any others, okay?"

"Yes, we are," he answered. "We're just still devastated about his death."

Susan Marion replied, "I will inform the staff about this tragedy. I hope that the man responsible for this fiasco rots in jail and faces the consequences of taking the life of a man who served his country."

"You don't have to worry about that, Ma'am. He's already been brought to justice," Natius told her.

Ms. Marion replied, "Thank you for your honesty. I have to go now."

It didn't take long for Mr. Virgil's death to reach everyone in town who knew him, but it would take several days before a funeral could finally take place.

Author's Notes: Looks like the heroes have finally made it home, but unfortunately it came with a price. There is however a poll in regard to what happened to the Toon Patrol on my profile.
