Chapter 68: No Stone, No Problem, Still Hopeful
BACK AT THE UNKNOWN WORLD*
"I see that Thanos has claimed the orange stone. Ok, we're making "some" progress. Hopefully, Infinite has given me good results." Razer said as she was scrolling through her screen.
"Lady Razer." A voice called out to her.
"Enter." Razer said.
The doors opened and Infinite, Cackletta and Fawful were inside the laboratory coming off a tough defeat against Kaze, Princess Peach and the others.
"You're back, Infinite. And… you must be Cackletta and Fawful."
"Wait. You know us? Who even are you?" Cackletta asked.
"I'm known as Razer Yamasaki. Razer, for short. I assume you told them who I was, right?" Razer asked Infinite.
"Not entirely." Infinite said. "We were so busy dealing with a bunch of scumbags in the Mushroom Kingdom that I didn't make time to introduce them to you."
"Did you receive the stone?" Razer asked.
"We almost did, but your counterpart bested us for it. I almost had the upper hand, but they were too much for the three of us."
"How disappointing, Infinite. Even with all that effort and support, you still couldn't finish the job. I should expect something from you, yet no good results."
"It is disappointing, but I do wish for revenge. I don't want to do all of this for nothing." Infinite said.
"I need you to hold off on that. You may have disappointed me, but the next stone is about to arrive in a few days. Ganondorf will have this one covered."
"So this work was all for nothing?! Absurd! I'll find a way to destroy these worlds myself!" Cackletta said.
"No!" Razer said as she stopped Cackletta at that moment. "You shall not interfere with my plans. You'll get what you want, but my backup plan is in the works."
"But we are not doing your bidding for nothing. If anything, we should just retrieve those stones by ourselves." Infinite said.
"Let them have it. You should at least trust in what I'm doing. If you get a stone, great. If not, then it'll be time for my backup plan."
"Is this backup plan like creating an apocalypse?" Fawful asked.
"Probably so. But worry not. Other stones are waiting to be picked up and Ganondorf may be my counterpart's toughest entity."
"So you wish to rely on him to avenge our loss?" Infinite asked.
"He's working for me and so are you guys. All of you agreed to work alongside me to end everything, so of course I'm relying on him."
"So what does that mean for us?" Cackletta asked.
"You're dismissed until further notice." Razer said.
"U-Until further notice?!" Cackletta shouted in shock.
"There's no point in taking revenge in the Mushroom Kingdom since this was your only opportunity to retrieve the stone and you cost it. Therefore, you should sit this one out until I either get all of the stones or plan something big."
"Very well then." Infinite said. "We still need to give your counterpart a piece of our mind, but since your strategy is to be determined, we'll stand down."
"If it means leaving it to the hands of other minions in this universe, then I suppose a little relaxation shouldn't be as bad as vegetables sitting on the table for a whole month." Fawful said.
"Do I really need to relax?" Cackletta asked in disbelief.
"There's no other choice. We blew our opportunity. And that was my strategy that failed so I shamed myself. We'll need to stand down for this one." Infinite asked.

…
"V-Very well then." Cackletta said after a moment of silence. "I hate having to wait around to plot my revenge, but I planned stuff like that in the past, so it won't hurt to rely on others to collect the other stones. But I hope we don't do all of this for nothing. Because I will just eliminate these worlds myself if things go bad."
"We will get this done. And I'm sure of it. We just need to be patient a while longer." Razer said.
"What's the status of the others?" Infinite asked.
"Satan and Ecolo aren't doing too hot. Apparently, they didn't accomplish their goal. Ganondorf is standing by for the next stone. Kurome and Arfoire are preparing. And the opposites from Takaoka are preparing. Fortunately, it should be an easy task for them. Thanos is protecting the orange stone so we should be fine for now."
"Interesting. We may have failed our mission, but we'll be sure to sit this one out. Contact us when you have something new for us."
"I'll be sure to do that. You're dismissed."
As soon as Razer said that, Infinite, Cackletta and Fawful left the laboratory, leaving Razer all by herself once again.
"So the other "me" strikes again. Nothing's going to last forever, especially her country. Hopefully Ganondorf will be the answer. He is a much bigger threat to her." She said.
After that, she left the laboratory to head straight to her room, hopeful that Ganondorf will do a much better job of completing his assignment than Satan, Ecolo and Infinite's job.
A little while ago, Infinite, Cackletta and Fawful were heading back to their posts, dismayed at the result that they wanted.
"This is despicable that I agreed to do this. I know our efforts will be all for nothing. We were on the verge of victory and we put all of it to waste!" Cackletta shouted with frustration.
"I know, but it's still early." Infinite said. "Our lady's revenge plot will come to fruition soon. As much as I hate it, it's the only way we will eliminate all of our tacky worlds. Even Princess Peach will be eliminated as well.
"That's right! I wouldn't want to erase the Princess by physicality anyway. Because then it would mean nothing." Fawful said.
"You're siding with that lifeless-looking being, Fawful?" Cackletta asked.
"I've experienced doing crimes by myself. I haven't told you about the time where I wasn't solely trying to destroy Peach and/or Bowser because I wanted to, didn't I?"
"W-What did you do?" Cackletta asked.
"I wanted to conquer both the Mushroom Kingdom, and Bowser's castle. But I've failed my ultimate goal because of not only Bowser getting in my way all the time, but because of the red and green hatted fink-rats. And I was this close to completing my goals."
"Hmph. Well… it is better than just killing them all if you do just that." Cackletta said.
"Have I told you about the time where I nearly killed my enemies by using the sun?" Infinite asked.
"The… sun?" Cackletta and Fawful asked.
"The whole sun that is supposed to wipe out the entire world I had in the past. That experiment failed unexpectedly because of some unknown buffoon that used up the phantom ruby to completely erase it. And we failed to destroy them all in one fell swoop. So you are not alone in your failed crime goals."
"So you created a whole sun to ultimately wipe out the entire world by yourself?! That is truly evil now that I think about it!" Fawful shouted in shock.
"Yes, tell me about it. Not that I would think someone has the ability to create something like that." Cackletta said.
"Yes. So it's not all too bad to wait out the plan to eliminate all worlds. Our lady's got it under control. If she knows what she's doing." Infinite asked.
"Oh, Infinite. You worry wayyyyyyyyy too much."
This was Ecolo's voice as he casually summoned right before the trio.
"You must be Ecolo. Why do you think that?" Infinite asked him.
"Lady Razer is literally doin' her job, isn't she? The reason why I say such a thing is because I'm excited to see all worlds go into ruin too. I don't mind waitin' around for a while."
"That's easy for you to say, considering how poorly you did at doing your job at this Primp Town place. Wouldn't you say you would be furious?"
"Now why would I be furious? I mean, to be honest, losin' to Kaze did drive me nuts… to a degree, but she's still in a pickle. There are other stones waiting to be picked up, and our teammates will get the job done. Especially that Thanos guy. I heard that he acquired a stone."
"He has. And this requires Kaze to do more searching." Infinite said.
"Did we ask Lady Razer about this Thanos guy's location?" Fawful asked.
"I didn't. But this will have to wait for now. By the way, if you don't know who this is, this is Ecolo, our interdimensional co-worker. He's one of us, so don't get it twisted."
"Yes, Yes. Don't be shy." Ecolo said. "The name's Ecolo. I also heard that you are working for Lady Razer, so you aren't a threat in my eyes."
"I'm the great Cackletta. It's a pleasure to be doing business with you, Ecolo." Cackletta introduced herself.
"And the name's Fawful. Hopefully we can get along perfectly. And destroy all worlds together." Fawful said.
"Likewise! Man, you two got some good tastes!" Ecolo said.
"Anyway, what can I do for you, Ecolo?" Infinite asked.
"Oh, nothing. I was getting bored. Especially after trying to patrol this cool place. So I came to check to see how you guys are doing."
"We are fine. We are returning to our posts. We failed to secure the yellow stone so we have to wait for the others to collect the other stones." Infinite said.
"Doesn't that sound boring to you guys?"
"It's our job, Ecolo. We're doing this to end everything. Once we end everything, then we can celebrate triumphantly. Your world will be no more. Then we can create a new world. All of us."
"Yeah, that sure is motivational. I should be on my way then. Even though I hate every bit of it."
Ecolo then disappeared and returned to his post, leaving Infinite and the others all alone again.
"He does appear to be energetic." Fawful said.
"More like… annoyance. Let's go. We should regroup and figure out our next move." Infinite said.
As soon as he said that, Infinite, Cackletta, and Fawful were heading straight to their posts as they looked to stand down and regroup on how they can do better at stopping Kaze once and for all.
Author's Note: Razer has now been notified by Infinite that he has failed to capture the Stone of Healing in the Mushroom Kingdom. However, Razer's still hopeful that she will still eliminate all worlds once and for all with any plan possible. It may be disappointing for Cackletta, but it's still early. Anything could happen.
