The sun hung low over the Temple of the Cross, casting warm, golden hues over its intricate stone carvings. The Lonnit Entertainment crew had arrived with just enough time to capture the fading light—a perfect backdrop for their next shoot. Spirits were cautiously optimistic, with only a vague sense of dread lingering from their earlier encounters with chaotic tourists and reality TV stars.

Kate Wilder stood poised at the base of the Temple of the Cross, her clipboard in hand, ready to deliver another flawless segment. Mark Nestor framed her in the shot, while Jamie Tiergan adjusted the boom mic. Erin Keenan stood nearby, scrolling through her notes, and Charles Lonnit leaned casually against a nearby column, already thinking of ways to embellish the scene in post-production.

Mark signaled, "Rolling in three, two, one…"

Kate smiled into the camera, her voice steady and professional. "The Temple of the Cross, part of the Cross Group, is one of Palenque's most fascinating complexes. Built during the reign of K'inich Kan B'alam II, this temple is named for the symbolic cross depicted in its carvings—a representation of the world tree, central to Maya cosmology."

She gestured toward the towering structure behind her. "The Cross Group includes three temples: the Temple of the Cross, the Temple of the Foliated Cross, and the Temple of the Sun. Together, they reflect the Maya's deep spiritual connection to the heavens, the earth, and the underworld."

Erin's hand shot up like a student in a classroom. "Uh, Kate?"

Kate, startled mid-sentence, turned to Erin. "What?"

"You forgot to mention the Foliated Cross and the Sun temples earlier," Erin said, her tone teasing but pointed. "You know, the ones we already visited?"

Kate froze, blinking at her, before putting her hands on her hips. "Erin, I didn't forget. I'm summarizing. There's a difference."

Jamie smirked, leaning on her mic stand. "Sure, Kate. 'Summarizing.' That's a fancy word for 'oops.'"

Kate sighed, glancing at Mark. "Cut."

Mark, barely suppressing a grin, stopped recording. "Don't worry, Kate. We'll fix it in post."

"Assuming Charles doesn't insist on turning this into a blooper reel," Jamie added.

Charles feigned innocence. "Me? Never."

After a quick reset, Kate managed to deliver her lines without interruption. With her segment wrapped, the team moved to capture some B-roll of the temple and the surrounding Cross Group. Mark, his camera trained on the sweeping view, slowly panned across the lush jungle and ancient stone structures.

"This is amazing," Mark murmured. "The light, the angle—this shot is perfect."

But perfection never lasted long for the Lonnit crew.

Out of nowhere, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt appeared, strutting into the shot as if they owned the place. Heidi, dressed in an outfit entirely unsuited for the jungle, pointed dramatically at the temple, while Spencer adjusted his sunglasses and loudly complained about the humidity.

"Why is it so sticky here?" Spencer asked, oblivious to Mark's camera. "It's like the air hates me."

Heidi sighed, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. "This place is sooo overrated. Where's the red carpet? Do they even have VIP tours?"

Mark groaned under his breath, adjusting his camera. "Of course, it's them again."

Spencer finally noticed the lens trained in his direction. "Hey, uh, why are you filming us? Is this TMZ or something?"

Mark's patience snapped. "No, it's not TMZ. We're shooting a documentary, and you're walking into the frame."

Heidi gasped, clutching her chest as if personally attacked. "A documentary? Why didn't you say so? You should've told us! People love us on camera."

Mark raised an eyebrow. "Do they? Or are you just assuming?"

Jamie, unable to resist, leaned in. "Oh, I think they're assuming."

Spencer puffed up, pointing at the camera. "Look, man, if you're filming us, you better be paying us. Our appearances aren't free."

Mark rolled his eyes. "I'm filming the temple. You just happen to be in the way."

Heidi pouted. "Well, why don't you ask us to move nicely? We're people too, you know."

Jamie snorted. "Are you? I thought you were just walking memes."

Kate, stepping in before things escalated further, addressed Heidi and Spencer directly. "Look, we're here to work. If you could just move out of the frame, we'd really appreciate it."

Heidi flipped her hair dramatically. "But why? We're the stars of this scene now. Right, Spence?"

"Totally," Spencer agreed. "This footage could go viral."

Mark muttered, "Yeah, as a cautionary tale."

Charles, who had been suspiciously quiet, suddenly stepped forward, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Mark, keep rolling."

Mark blinked. "You want me to keep filming this?"

Charles grinned. "Absolutely. It's good for ratings."

Heidi narrowed her eyes at Mark. "Wait. Are you filming me right now?"

Mark didn't miss a beat. "Yep. You know why? Because it's great for ratings, Reality TV Karens."

Spencer's jaw dropped. "Excuse me? Did you just call us Karens?"

Jamie burst out laughing, leaning against Erin for support. "Oh, Mark, you legend."

Heidi gasped, scandalized. "You can't just insult us like that! We're public figures!"

Kate pinched the bridge of her nose, muttering, "This cannot be happening."

Heidi's tone turned icy. "We're suing. You can't use our image without permission. Right, Spence?"

"Damn right," Spencer said. "We'll take this all the way to court."

Charles, however, wasn't fazed. He crossed his arms and stepped between the crew and the feuding couple. "You want to sue me? Good luck with that. I own Lonnit Entertainment, and I can assure you, your antics are already public domain."

Heidi looked flustered. "But—"

Charles cut her off, his tone suddenly sharp. "Out. Now. Before I have security escort you off the site."

Spencer sputtered. "You can't kick us out. We're influencers!"

Charles smirked. "Influence your way out of my shot."

With no other option, Heidi and Spencer stormed off, loudly vowing to "expose the truth" about Lonnit Entertainment. As soon as they were out of earshot, the crew erupted into laughter.

Jamie wiped tears from her eyes. "Mark, I could kiss you for that 'Reality TV Karens' line."

Mark chuckled. "Glad you liked it. I've been saving that one."

Kate shook her head, her smile grudging. "I can't believe this is our life."

Charles clapped his hands, his good mood restored. "Alright, everyone. Back to work. The Temple of the Cross isn't going to film itself."

As the team regrouped and refocused, the Cross Group stood silent and timeless around them, bearing witness to yet another chapter in the Lonnit crew's chaotic adventure.
