I'm going to need to re-arrange my room for my bookshelves. Manga can take up a lot of space.
Chapter 6 – The Princess, The Elf, The Demon and The Wanderer Part 6
"Fergus…" whispered Koga. As he removed his hand away from the now passing soldier. Bean looked at Koga as he stood up towering over Bean and the rest of the citizens. Bean looked at Koga with a worried expression on her face. "Fergus? Who's Fergus?" She asked as she reached out to him. But Koga turned around and hurried off. "Koga?!" Bean called out to him. Koga would walk past Freya. Freya noticed the certain expression on his face and she tried to ask him what was wrong but he didn't say as he continued walking to Barbara's inn. Freya looked forward at the crowd of people that was gathered around in a circle. Freya moves past a couple of people and she gasped. "ERIC!" she kneels and places her ear against his chest. There was no sound of a heartbeat. Freya took a closer look at the body. Eric had what looked like bite marks around his neck and body. The color of the bite marks was dark purple. Freya pulled down the man's shirt to reveal a large hole with dark purple ooze leaking from it. Freya clenched her teeth and punches the ground. She gets up and turns to everyone fury in her eyes "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?" She bellowed. Her emotions riding high.
"H-He came out of the forest on a horse all cut up!" said Elfo backing away and hiding behind beans legs.
"He was saying something about someone named Fergus in the forest!" said Bean, backing away a bit at Freya's rage as well.
Freya's eyes widened "Fergus?" Then she began to remember. "Oh-Oh no! Oh no! Where's Koga?!"
"He went back to the inn," Bean said to her.
Freya clenched her fist and turned back to Eric's cold lifeless body. Her eyes squinting down at him in sorrow. One of the men that were in the crowd stepped forward and placed her hand on Freya's shoulder "Freya, we'll take care of the body and inform the headquarters, you can go after Koga. You know how he is," he whispered to her.
Freya looked as though she was on the verge of tears but she held them back and nods. "Right," she said pulling herself together. She turned around and rushed past everyone to the inn. Bean, Elfo, and Luci followed along.
"Wait, Freya!" Bean called out to her. "Who was that guy?"
"That was Eric," Freya said as he wipes some tears from her eyes as they were about to fall. "He was one of the men that trained me growing up and was one of Fergus's soldiers that were on a search and rescue mission. Fergus was also the man that found Koga years ago…Fergus was like a father to Koga…"
"Oh man…" whispered Bean
"I know what he's going to do! Koga is hot-headed he'll-KOGA!" Freya suddenly whaled. Koga was already on his horse and snaps the reigns and the horse takes off riding past the four of them. "KOGA YE DOATY FOOL! YE JUST CAN'T GO BY YOURSELF! KOOGAA!"
Koga road passed the group of people that had gathered up Eric's body and rode into the forest.
Freya let out multiple curse words in a second as she hurried to the stables and hops onto a horse. Bean rushed over to her "Wait let us come we can help!"
Freya stared down at them for a moment. "Are ye sure? I don't want you holding us back!"
"Koga saved us multiple times when we met him! I want to pay him back!" said Bean determinedly
Freya let out a quick sigh and nods "Ok! Grab a horse!" She yelled. "Here, take my extra sword!" She tossed it to bean and she catches it.
"Bean are you sure about this?!" said Elfo as he and Luci followed her to the horse. "Who knows what they could be running into out there in that forest!"
"Look Koga's saved our butts twice! As strong as he is I'm sure even he has his limits!" said Bean as she hops onto the horse. "And how am I not going to help!"
"That's the spirit Beanie!" said Freya as her horse trots along the path.
"Freya!" said The man as he came back, "I told the defense force about what happened! They're picking a team to accompany you!"
"Well tell them to hurry up! Come on Bean!" said Freya as she snaps the reins and the horse takes off. Bean snaps the reins and with Bean and Luci on the horse, the three of them ride off into the forest following Freya.

The sounds of nature filled Beans, Elfo, and Luci's ears as they closely followed Freya through the forest. The sounds of nature buzzing about filled their ears. Bean's eyes wandered everywhere searching for any signs of Koga. It didn't help he wore all green. As she did this she could hear the songs of Freya cursing in front. She was calling Koga any type of curse word and insult she could think of. Hell, there were some words that Bean thinks she just invented in 3 seconds.
"She really scares me…" said Elfo quietly.
"Not surprising…" said Luci, blow a puff of smoke out of his cigarette
"She's just worried about him is all…" Bean whispered.
"You sure? I think I heard her say something about shoving a sword in an area where the sun doesn't shine," Elfo replied
"Well, sometimes females have their ways of showing how much they care. Whether it's physical violence or verbal insults," said Bean matter of factly.
"So female default emotions?" Luci raised a brow.
"I'm going to act like I didn't hear that," Bean said
"Well, you just did."
"AHHHHH!" Elfo screamed so loud his voice echoed through the forest. He was fumbling around and patting himself around his body.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Freya asked turning around.
"Elfo what is it?" Bean said turning around to face him.
"A spider was on me! A big one!" Elfo said breathlessly "I thought I was going to have a heart attack!"
"Oh Elfo…" said Bean sighing in relief. "It's nothing, Freya! Elfo just had a spider on him!"
"Tell the Elf to grow a pair!" Freya spat
"Freya said to a grow a-"
"I heard what the she-devil said," Elfo said, cutting off Bean with a bitter tone.
"You know Spiders are a common torture method used in hell," Luci whispered in Elfo's ear. "The really big and hairy ones!"
"Shut uuuuup!" Elfo whined.
Bean rolled her eyes at the two bickering but as her eyes were placed above they widened a bit. There was a large spider with an unusual color pattern. It was a mixture of black and purple. But…the head…the head looked so strange. "Hey, Freya…how often have you come out here?" She asked curiously as she kept her eyes around the trees.
"I use to come out here all the time when I was little. Taking out wandering trolls with my bow," said Freya.
"What's usually…" But Bean stopped mid-sentence when she saw a large spider-web that had birds caught in its webbing. "Out here…"
Freya was in the same boat as Bean. She began to take notice of the sudden spider-webs that were around the trees. "Well…" Freya continued to answer Beans question "Deer…bears…the usual nature..." She said softly. The horses began to let out whining noises and flaring their nostrils. The deeper they rode into the forest…the more webbing was appearing. It covered whole trees from head to toe. Large spider-webs showed to have squirrels and other sorts of animals in them. But…what shook the group more was the finding of a large bear tied up in thick spider-webbing.
"Um…guys…t-t-that's a bear…" Elfo stuttered as he points at it.
"Wow…that must be one big ass spider…" said Luci impressed.
"Freya…" said Bean in a terrified tone.
"Yeah…" Freya said looking away from the bear. "We need to find them…and get the hell out of here."
"You don't need to tell me twice…" said Bean turning away from the bear and they continued along. The deeper they went the more they saw more and more webbed-up objects. Elfo gasped as they trotted past one that was dangling a few inches from the ground. Elfo saw what looked like it a hand sticking out of the webbing. Everything was quiet. The only song that was made was the sound of the horse's hooves stepping on webbing or crumbled-up leaves.
"Man…how far does this go?"
"Hey guys," said Luci. "Don't you think it's weird?"
"What's weird?" Bean asked confused
"We've been going through this web-infested forest…and we've only seen one or two Spiders?"
Bean began to think. Luci was right. Usually, the spiders would hang around the many webs that they create but so far…not a single spider was spotted. Bean and Freya's horses began whining louder and they stopped. "What's gotten into you girls?!" Freya asked frustratingly. The horses began to kick around as they almost knocking Freya off. Beans horse was doing the same except that they were knocked off. Bean lets out a loud "WHOA!" as she along Elfo and Luci fell to the ground and the horse runs off behind them. Freya was eventually knocked off too and her horse runs off following after the other. "GODDAMN IT!" She shouted.
"Well looks like we're walking back," said Luci.
In the distance where the horses made a loud screeching sound followed by a snap. Bean, Elfo, and Luci backed up close to Freya as she drew her sword. After what happened to the horses, everything went quiet. Then, in the wilderness around them came skittering sounds. It seemed to be many legs moving the distance. The four of them were constantly looking around them and above. The sounds seemed to be coming from everywhere.
"This is bad! This is REALLY bad!" said Bean as she constantly placed her eyes around every spot these sounds were coming from.
"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" Elfo said over and over as he stayed close to Bean.
Luci didn't seem to be all that bothered as he took another puff of his cigarette. "I wonder how big these bad boys and girls are."
Then. It stopped. It was quiet. The only sound that could be made was the fearful breathing of both Bean and Elfo. Freya couldn't help but shake a bit in fear as well. She was sweating beads but she stayed on alert. Elfo's ears flickered as he heard a sound above them. He looks up. His eyes widened and he slumps. "G-G-Guys…" It sounded as though every breath in his lungs was sucked out of him. Everyone looked up. Appearing from behind the trees were spiders the size of wagons. Their legs had small spikes sticking out from their legs along with their bushy scratchy hair, and some of their eyes were glowing bright white. These large spiders were followed by smaller but just as big spiders that crawled out from the webbings in the trees. Bean moved her eyes from above and looked around her. Giant Spiders were coming out from the woods. These particular Spiders…had the heads of humans. Multiple eyes were covered around their human head as Spiderfangs were sticking out of their mouths.
The group was surrounded.
"B-Bean…Freya…what do we do? What do we do?" Elfo's voice was shaky and full of fear as he held up his puny knife.
"I…I don't know…Freya?" Bean asked. Her tone was just as shaky as Elfo's.
"J-Just let me…just me think…" Freya whispered back. Of course, she had no idea what they were going to do. She was just as scared.
"Oh my…another one?" said a soft, feminine voice that seemed to come from nowhere.
Everyone looked around to see where it was coming from. "Oh, and we have an elf, a demon, and some redheaded girl who wears the same clothing as my husband. How cute…"
Repelling down from above. Was a spider, larger than the ones they had just saw. Once she was on the ground the group was shocked to see a women's human upper body was coming out of the front of the large spider body. Its skin was pale white with grey smudges around the stomach going up to her chest, and arms. On her face were eight eyes, and her hair was pitch black.
"Mmm…" said Esmee. She placed all eight of her black eyes on Elfo. "That Elf is so cute. May I have him?"
Elfo's ears dropped along with the knife in his hand. Bean had a sudden rush of courage erupted in her and she stood in front of Elfo. "LIKE HELL YOU'LL TAKE ELFO YOU EIGHT LEGGED FREAK!" she screamed.
The Spiders all around her began to hiss violently. Esmee just giggled "Settle down my babies settle down." She said softly. The hissing soon stopped "Being protective I see. I understand. But since I'm in a good mood I'll let it slide."
"WHERE'S FERGUS AND KOGA YE DOATY FREAK OF NATURE!" Freya roared at Esmee.
Esmee stared down at Freya "Koga?" She placed her long pale fingers around her chin and began to think. "I know Fergus, my husband. But as of Koga, I'm drawing a blank." She then gasped "OH! Do you mean that long-haired handsome man that rode in here? Oh yes, I've taken care of him already. He'll be a nice meal for my babies." Esmee giggled.
"LIAR!" Bean yelled, "AS IF KOGA WOULD LOSE TO YOU!"
"Whatever you say little girl," said Esmee with a giggle.
"ANSWER THE QUESTION!" Freya screamed, "WHAT DID YE DO WITH FERGUS?"
"Oh fine then. If you want to see him so badly. Boys please go get your father!" Esmee ordered her spiders.
A few spiders climbed up in the trees above. Then, they repelled down a body wrapped in webbing. The body hung next to Esmee as she wraps her pale arm around Fergus's body. Fergus had grey hair with slight patches of white on the sides of his head and his beard was fully grey. He was currently dazed as he let out a couple of groans.
"FERGUS!" Freya called out to him.
Fergus would open his eyes and look forward. The first person he laid his eyes on was Freya. "Freya?" he whispered "Freya...ugh…" He closed his eye and he slumps his head.
"Aww…you're still tired, my sweet husband. You have to regain your strength soon dear…you and I have a lot of work to do…" She whispered seductively in his ear as Fergus was repelled back up.
"NO!" Freya cried.
"Satisfied?" Esmee looked down at Freya.
"GIVE HIM BACK!" Freya whaled as she charged forward at Esmee with her sword clenched tightly in her hand.
"WAIT FREYA!" Bean called out to her.
Esmee spits out a while substance that turned into webbing that hits Freya and knocks her to the ground entangling her. Esmee let out a high-pitched laugh as she watched Freya struggle to break free and a few of her spider children circle her.
The spiders that had surrounded Bean, Luci, and Elfo began to close in.
Koga was probably dead, and backup hadn't arrived yet.
The spiders began to close in with no hope in sight.
