Celebrating A Life of A Werefox

"Hello sir, may I help you?" said a cashier, as she spotted a male human, wearing sunglasses, his brown hair reached his lower back standing in front of the counter.

"I'm here to pick up a custom order, that I placed a couple of weeks ago."

The cashier pulled up her computer files, "Boris, is it?"

He nodded his head.

"Its in the backroom, I'll be right back."

It took a few minutes for the cashier came back, holding a item wrapped in dark purple wrapping paper.

"Here you go sir, was there anything else I can do for you?"

"No thanks, it will be all."

"Thank you sir, come again." said the cashier, as Boris walked away, exiting the building.

Okay, I got Phoenix's gift, I got one more errand to do, before I make my way to the building, where Phoenix first took me to, that's outside the limits of this city. I'm glad she's working today at her recently open glass shop, or the surprise would've been ruined. Boris thought to himself, as he walked to a nearby bakery.

Boris entered the store, looking all around him, taking in all of the different variteries of pastries meeting his gaze. Now, what would Phoenix like to have on her special day? Boris thought to himself again.

Thinking that none of them would do, until he reached a glass case revealing cakes in different sizes and shapes and cupcakes, he soon came across one that caught his eye, decorated on a circular cake's white frosting surface was a black background featuring two werefoxes, one standing on two legs, while the other was standing on all four of its legs, in a stained glass window.

I think I found what I was looking for.

He gently picked the cake up, taking it to the counter.

"Hello sir, what can I do for you today?" said another female cashier greeted him.

"I would like to buy this cake."

"Excellent choice sir, whoever you're buy this cake, will really like it."

I hope she does.

"How much is it?"

The female cashier total the cost to be twenty five dollars. He paid for the cake, thanking the cashier, leaving the bakery and making his way to the outskrits of town.

I think this is the building that Phoenix took me to, when we saw the city lights together. Boris thought to himself as he made it to his destination. He climbed the steps of the fire escape until he came to a stop on top of the roof. Trying to find a hiding spot to place the cake and present.

Once he found one to his liking, he summoned his Weasels from the diamond shaped patches of skin on his palms.

Can you two guard the cake and present, while I go fetch Phoenix. He asked his pets through their telepathic link.

You can trust us master. One of his Weasels answered back.

Good. I'll be back as soon as possible.

Before Boris was about to reach the fire escape, he heard the other Weasel called back to him.

Master.

Hmm? What is it boy?

Are you sure, Phoenix will like the surprise?

I'm sure, she will. Boris reassured his pet, as he left the building.

Boris managed to make it back to the warehouse, awaiting for the werefox's arrival.

"Hey Phoenix, how was work?" He greeted her, as she entered the doorway.

"It went well, people are really liking my glass sculptures."

"Do you care to follow me?"

Phoenix gave him a puzzled look. "What for? Can it wait, I just came in?"

"Afraid not, it would only take a couple of minutes."

Before either of them could leave the warehouse. He asked her for another favor. "I need you to close your eyes."

"...Okay." She did as she was told.

They nnanaged to make their way out of the warehouse and heading to the building.

"Boris, can you tell me, where we're going." she asked him, as he hold her hand, the entire way there.

"Sorry Phoenix, it will spoil things."

I wonder what he got on his mind. She thought to herself.

She suddenly felt him stop moving and felt her hand placed on something. He did the same with his hand, going in front of her, proceeding to climb the fire escape. As soon as they made it to the roof. He told her to open her eyes.

You two ready? He asked his Weasels.

We're ready, Master. They responded back to him.

Phoenix heard something crawling, until it stop.

Phoenix opened her eyes, she was now familiar with her surroundings. Borish said in a calm voice. "Surprise, Phoenix." The SPINY crabs screechly echoing their master's words.

Phoenix hugged her mate, nuzzling into him. "Thank you Boris,"

"You're very welcome, Phoenix."

"How long have you been planning this?" She asked him letting him go.

"Not long.I'm sort of an romantic like that."

Mmhmm, sure you are. She didn't said it out loud, not wanting to insult him.

Can you two get the cake?

Both of his Weasels crawled over to the cake's hiding spot, their legs scratching against the concrete. Heading back to them. carrying a box on top of their backs.

When Phoenix got a good look at the stained glass werefox cake, a smile painted her features. "Thanks, you guys, it's lovely."

"It probably taste as good as it looks." Boris picked the box the cake was in, off his pets back, after sitting on the concrete, placing it down with him, opening it, beckoning her to set down with him.

"Um, Phoenix. Do you have you're scimitar?"

"Yes, why?"

"Would you like to have the honor to cut it."

Phoenix rummaged through her pocket, digging her wood carving tool, letting it slide through the cake like butter. Placing the first piece in a glass bowl, she had gotten from her glass shop, handing it to Boris, she prepare two plates for the Weasel with a piece of cake for both of them and finally dishing out a piece a cake for herself.

After eating about half of the cake, all four of them realized that there was still of it left, Boris closed the lid of the box, deciding to save what's left of it for tomorrow. Can one of you grab Phoeni's present?

I'll go get it. One of the Weasels that had volunteer.

Thank you, boy.

The Weasel scurried back to the hiding spot. carrying the present on it's back, heading back to them ever so slowly, trying his best not to drop it.

"I hope you like it." said Boris, picking up the wrapped object from his Weasel's back, handing it over to her.

Phoenix tore open the wrapping paper, wondering what it could be. once she removed the last of the paper, it revealed a snow globe, inside it held her werefox form, one of them being on two legs, while the other was on all four of her paws.

"Thank you Boris, for such an amazing gift."

"No Phoenix, I should be thanking you for being a part of our life."
