Adventures of David and Catherine
Chapter 3
September David turns 5.
Preschool Silverwood Elementary school.
Tests out of preschool to enter Kindergarten with Catherine due to studying with her over the summer.
The two of them were good study mates. They were so happy that they got to be in the same class together. One day Catherine was asked by the teacher to do some clean up of the toys before she could join David for lunch break. "See you in a bit David" says Catherine.
"See yah" as they gave each other a hug. David's mom, Joyce, had packed cheese sandwiches, carrot sticks and apple juice boxes for him. He looked around the cafeteria and couldn't find anywhere for him and Catherine to have lunch. He thought what a great day we can sit here in the corner outside. He started to eat the cheese sandwich when a heavyset kid with a crew cut came up to David. Much older, possibly a 1st grader. Catherine saw the whole thing from nearby.
"Hey Kid, do you like your cheese sandwich?"
David looks up "Yes." he replies
"Well, have more sandwich." The heavyset boy responds then pours a bucket of sand on David's head.
Catherine runs up to the scene. Horrified, she screams, "Hey that's not nice! The boy smirks in laughter. Then she ran and grabbed a yard duty aid, and the teacher immediately grabs the boy.
Catherine approaches David horrified of what happened and hugs him. "Thanks Catherine!", David says, sheepishly.
"No problem." Catherine says as she winks.
Tell him he's fired, he says Catherine then laughs
They then hug and Catherine cleans the sand off him.
The next day David was asked to do something for the teacher and Catherine was this time looking for a place to eat with David. Then the heavy-set boy comes up to Catherine.
"Well, well, well, isn't it the foolish tattletale," the heavy-set boy says to Catherine with a smirk on his face.
Catherine's face then turns from cheerful to angry and scared. She says, "Thought the teacher got you and you were fired by David?"
The heavy-set boy says, "Fired? I don't think so."
He grabs her wrist. David comes to the rescue. David pours sand onto his head and says, "How do you like that?"
He cries and runs away.
David turns to Catherine and asks, "Are you okay?"
Catherine stops crying and says, "Yes. I am better now. You are my hero."
David and Catherine hug.
