The Mayhem Critic
Aloha, my fellow readers. It is I, the great James Stryker and I am here to bring you another hilarious chapter of The Mayhem Critic. Video Game Month continues as Sean takes a look at another animated Mortal Kombat feature that was released back in 2021. And that movie is Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, a movie so hyped by fans that when they watched it, it got mixed reviews. Is this movie worth watching or does it suck hard like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Well, let's tune in and find out as Sean reviews the newest Mortal Kombat animated feature. Enjoy.
P.S.: I do not own anything involved in this story. All rights belong to their respective sources. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is owned by Warner Bros. Animation.
Video Game Month Part IV: Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms
(We cut to a cutaway gag in which Sean is playing Sam Register, the president of Warner Bros. Animation, while Brian plays the movie's writer Jeremy Adams. The whole scene is taking place in 2021)
Sean: (as Sam Register) Alright, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. I tell ya, this movie is a big hit with the fans and everybody loved it. And with the new Mortal Kombat movie out now and it's also a big hit with the fans on HBO Max, I guess it's time that we come up with a sequel. So, Mr. Adams, do you have any ideas that you would like to share with me?
Brian: (as Jeremy Adams) Yes, I have one. How about we inspire this one after the plot of Mortal Kombat II?
Sean: With Shao Kahn holding the next Mortal Kombat Tournament in Outworld?
Brian: Yeah.
Sean: Okay, sounds good. Also, throw in some aspects of Mortal Kombat 3 in the mix with the invasion of Outworld.
Brian: Alright, cool.
Sean: Now, for the characters. Any new characters that you want to add in the movie?
Brian: Yep. How about the most hated character in Mortal Kombat?
Sean: D'Vorah. The bug chick that killed off Baraka, Mileena and Scorpion?
Brian: Yes. And we have her fight Johnny Cage in the tournament and she beats him by kicking him in the nuts?
Sean: I like that. That'll be comedic gold right there. Anybody else?
Brian: Yes. We'll add Kintaro, Li Mei, Cyrax, Sektor, Jade and Smoke and also Shinnok. And let's add Sub-Zero in the mix as well.
Sean: Bi-Han? I thought he was dead.
Brian: No, his younger brother Kuai Liang.
Sean: Alright.
Brian: Now, let's add Stryker and Kung Lao in the mix. Better yet, let Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn kill them in the tournament.
Sean: Yeah, who cares about those two. They're gonna die in the tournament. So, do we have ourselves a sequel that the fans will love?
Brian: Yes, we do. The fans will totally love it.
Sean: Perfect! We'll start working on it while I take a look at the Injustice script. Finally, we're gonna make a movie out of this one.
(The cutaway gag ends as we cut to the Video Game Month intro a la parody of The Completionist intro)
After the intro ends, we open with our fellow residential critic Sean J. Archer, a.k.a. the Mayhem Critic, sitting in his living room as he prepares to start his signature introduction.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Sean the Mayhem Critic, the critic that rips movies a new one and welcome back to Video Game Month" Sean said before talking about today's topic. "Remember last year when I reviewed Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge for Animation March Madness?"
(Footage from Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge is shown)
Sean: (Narrating) Yeah, it gave us some bloody kombat goodness with some great animation, good characters, great fight scenes and a well-written story. This was one of the best animated adaptations of Mortal Kombat ever.
"So when we found out that there was going to be a sequel to Mortal Kombat Legends, we were hyped as hell, we've pissed our pants in excitement because this was going to be the best Mortal Kombat movie ever and after the movie was released straight-to-video and we watched it, we had to question this… what the hell did we just watch?" Sean asked.
(The title screen for Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is shown followed by clips from the movie)
Sean: (Narrating) Released straight-to-video on August 31st 2021, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms is the sequel to the highly acclaimed Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge. This is a movie that got MK fans mixed reactions from the movie. When the trailer was released on July 1st, the fans were super hyped when they saw the trailer. But when it was released straight to DVD on August 31st, the fans were very, very mixed. Don't believe me, then take a look at some of the reviews from fans.
(A clip from unCAGEDgamez's review of the movie is shown)
Cage: I still liked it, don't get it twisted.
(A clip from History Behind The Warrior's review is shown)
History Behind The Warrior: Why is this plot so bloated… why is so much happening…
(A clip from Beyond The Trailer's review is shown)
Grace Randolph: I must say, the Mortal Kombat animated universe is developing quite nicely.
(A clip from TrueUnderDawg's review is shown)
TrueUnderDawg: I'm not somebody coming from a place of hate at all. In fact, as a person, I go out of my way to almost never use that word it's a very strong word but… I think I did hate this movie.
(A clip from J_ROCK_DA_HOUSE's review is shown)
J_ROCK_DA_HOUSE: I don't care. I don't care. That's literally it? Kill yourself. Fuck you. Fuck you.
"Okay, that last guy was a goddamn hypocrite and he needs to shut the fuck up because he hasn't seen a good movie if it bit him on the ass." Sean said.
(Clips from the movie are shown some more)
Sean: (Narrating) Some claimed that the movie was good but with some flaws, while others claimed that it's a total mess like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. And you're all probably wondering what do I think about the movie. Well, we got a lot of film to cover, so let's not waste any time.
"Prepare to get your soul sucked, this is Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms." Sean said.
(The movie opens with the WB Animation logo and Scorpion popping out from behind as he starts showing off some of his combat moves)
Sean: (Narrating) The movie opens with the WB Animation logo and Scorpion just being a showoff until…
(The WB shield opens up, revealing Ultra Instinct Shaggy as he grabs Scorpion by his throat)
Shaggy (Voiced by Matthew Lillard): Like, get over here, man!
(Shaggy pulls Scorpion in and looks at the viewer while Scooby-Doo appears from behind him. Then a bright, flashing light appears before the WB shield closes)
"Okay, that became the most popular thing to come out from this movie. Ed Boon listened to the fans. Hey, if Shaggy isn't going to be in the game, then you'll definitely see him in the movie. Hell, I would love to see Ultra Instinct Shaggy in Mortal Kombat 11. Matter of fact, they need to add him in the game like right now." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) The movie begins on a dark and stormy night as we see a couple protecting their infant son from pursuing Tarkatan and the father prepares to defend his family from these bloodthirsty warriors.
(The father pulls out a knife from out of his suit jacket as the Tarkatan warriors arrive)
"Really, dude. You pull out a knife and these Tarkatans have blades that retract from their arms. You think that little rinky dink knife will protect you?" Sean asked.
(The Tarkatans surround the father)
Sean: (V/O as Father) Don't make me use this knife on you.
Mother (Voiced by Emily O'Brien): No. No!
(The Tarkatans kill the father as they tear him apart while his wife watches and screams in horror. We get a shot of his decapitated head falling to the ground)
(A clip from Seinfeld is shown)
Jerry Seinfeld: Poor bastard.
Mother: (Screams) No! Stay away!
Sean: (Narrating) The Tarkatans mortally wound the mother as they're getting ready to eat the baby, Raiden once again voiced by Dave B. Mitchell, shows up in the nick of time to save the baby from becoming a meal. Yeah, great timing as usual.
(A clip from Mortal Kombat 11 is shown)
Raiden (Voiced by Richard Epcar): Have I arrived too late?
Johnny Cage (Voiced by Andrew Bowen): You're back in the nick of time.
(Raiden fires a lightning bolt at a Tarkatan and kills it before killing another one with another lightning bolt. Raiden teleports to the escaping Tarkatan and takes the baby away from it. He grabs the Tarkatan warrior by it's head and electrocutes him, causing it's eyes to come out from it's sockets and it's whole body explodes, which makes a whipping sound for some odd reason)
"Uh, what was up with that whip sound effect?" Sean asked.
(The whipping sound effect is heard right when Raiden kills the Tarkatan)
"They made it act like Indiana Jones killed the Tarkatan with his whip. Come on, I shouldn't hear a whipping sound right when someone's whole body explodes. I should be hearing a squishing sound." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) We see that the little baby is none other than Liu Kang and right after his mother kicks the bucket after saying her last words before Raiden the baby snatcher leaves. We then cut to present day, as we see that there's an all-out invasion when Shao Kahn sends his forces to attack Earthrealm. We then see that Kung Lao, voiced by Matthew Yang King, joins the battle.
Kung Lao (Voiced by Matthew Yang King): The front gate!
(Kung Lao grabs a grappling hook and slides down to the ground to join the monks in battle)
Monks: Hai!
Kung Lao: They will not take this temple. As long as we stand, it stands.
Monks: Hai!
Kung Lao: As long as we stand, it stands.
"I'm only going to repeat myself this one time. As long as we stand, it stands." Sean said, imitating Kung Lao.
Sean: (Narrating) A giant Outworld demon breaks through the front gate while Shao Kahn's forces storm the academy. Kung Lao goes toe to toe with the giant demon and…
(Kung Lao jumps up in the air and gets ready to kill the giant demon with his Razor-Rimmed Hat. The demon stops Kung Lao and grabs him before slamming him down on the ground)
"Oh, yeah. I forgot. Kung Lao is the Sean Bean of Mortal Kombat. Just once, I would like to see a Mortal Kombat movie where Kung Lao doesn't go down like a little bitch." Sean said.
(A chopper kills the monster, saving Kung Lao's life)
"Or he lives. He was lucky that time. Hell, perhaps this is a moment his luck ran out." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) We see our favorite riot police officer Kurtis Stryker, voiced by Matthew Mercer, joining in the battle along with Jax, voiced by Ike Amadi, who is now new metal arms and the two of them start shooting up demons and Tarkatans.
Kung Lao: You're late.
Jax (Voiced by Ike Amadi): I picked up a straggler. Stryker, Kung Lao. Kung Lao, Stryker.
Stryker (Voiced by Matthew Mercer): Did that thing have wings? Did I shoot something with wings? What the hell is going on?
"When Jax said that I was going to do some police brutality on some criminals, he didn't mention criminals that can fly or with blades coming out of their arms." Sean said, imitating Stryker.
Sean: (Narrating) Anyway, one of the soldiers working for Shao Kahn reports back to Kitana, voiced by Grey Griffin, about their progress on storming the temple gates, but things aren't too hot for them. So, she orders Reiko voiced by Robin Atkin Downes, and Kintaro also voiced by Dave B. Mitchell, to move into position at the temple, along with Jade voiced by Emily O'Brien and Baraka… wait, what?
(Pauses on the image of Baraka standing next to Jade)
Sean: (Narrating) What the hell? Didn't Johnny Cage kill him in the last movie?
(Cut back to Baraka's death scene in Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge)
Johnny Cage (Voiced by Joel McHale): Eat me, buttercup.
(Johnny leaps from off of the edge and flips off Baraka with double middle fingers. Baraka ends up getting killed by fallen debris from the fortress)
"Okay, so you mean to tell me that Baraka survived from having debris falling on top of him while a fortress goes down? Who does he think he is a Looney Tunes character or a character from Dragon Ball Z?" Sean asked.
Sean: (Narrating) But then Johnny Cage, voiced by Joel McHale, interrupts their little plan. And I just love that they had his design based on his Mortal Kombat X standard costume.
Kitana (Voiced by Grey Griffin): What do you want?
Johnny Cage: I've come to negotiate a surrender.
(Kintaro laughs sarcastically)
Kintaro (Also voiced by Dave B. Mitchell): The tiny humans wish to surrender? Tell him "no," so that we may crush them!
Kitana: What are your terms?
Johnny Cage: See? A lady with smarts. No wonder you're in charge. Plus, that leotard suits you. A little airy for my tastes, but…
Kitana: Nevermind. Kill him!
"Damn, Kitana's sick of his shit already. All he did was say that you look smoking hot in that outfit. And right now, I'm having some really naughty thoughts about you." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Johnny tries to negotiate with Kitana for her troops to surrender, but she has a conterproposal, which is to kneel and pledge allegiance to Shao Kahn.
Johnny Cage: Pledge allegiance? Lady, I don't pledge allegiance to anything except the red, white and blue.
"America… FUCK YEAH!" Sean exclaimed.
(The Tarkatan troops surround Johnny and get ready to kill him)
Johnny Cage: Let's do this! (Dramatically while getting into a combat stance) Wah… Yah! Bruce Lee!
(A Tarkatan soldier's head suddenly explodes, killing him)
Johnny Cage: Ooh. Yeah. I forgot. I brought my girlfriend, and… (sighs) whoa, let me tell you, she is pretty good with a rifle. So? You guys gonna surrender, or what?
(Kitana throws her bladed fans at Johnny as he quickly dodges them)
Sean: (Narrating) We see that Sonya Blade, voiced by Jennifer Carpenter, takes a shot at the Tarkatan troops by going full-on Sniper Elite on their asses. Then, Baraka has a little rematch with Johnny and Jade wants a piece of Johnny until Sonya whacks her in the face with the butt of her rifle and we get the good 'ol X-Ray image of her skull getting cracked.
Sonya Blade (Voiced by Jennifer Carpenter): (Helps Johnny up) I'm not your girlfriend.
Johnny Cage: Well, not yet.
Sonya Blade: Ugh.
"Don't worry, Sonya. You know you want Johnny. Besides, you two need to create Cassie Cage." Sean said.
Kitana: The two of you can't hope to defeat Shao Kahn's army.
Johnny Cage: Two? Who said anything about two? Did you say two?
Sonya Blade: Nope.
Johnny Cage: Well, I didn't say two. If it was just two of us, well, I mean, that would be stupid. Crazy even!
"What? Only two against a thousand. Come on, that's crazy. If it was four against a thousand… then you clowns won't stand a chance." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Liu Kang voiced by Jordan Rodrigues, and Raiden join the battle and we get a pretty awesome fight scene. That is until the cheapest son of a bitch arrives as well. Enter Shao Kahn…
(A clip from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is shown)
Admiral James T. Kirk (Played by William Shatner): KHAAAAAAAAAAN!
Sean: (Narrating) Goddamn joke. As I was saying, enter Shao Kahn, the emperor of Outworld and he's voiced by Fred Tatasciore, as him and Raiden do some talking.
Raiden (Voiced by Dave B. Mitchell): Shao Kahn.
Shao Kahn (Voiced by Fred Tatasciore): Lord Raiden.
(Liu Kang jumps in and punches Shao Kahn. He tries to kick him, but Shao Kahn blocks his kick, then grabs him by his leg and swings him to a tree)
Shao Kahn: Impudent.
"Really, Liu Kang? You just had to jump in like an idiot. Stay out of this and let the grown folks talk." Sean said.
Raiden: Stand back, Liu Kang.
Liu Kang (Voiced by Jordan Rodrigues): I have this, Lord Raiden.
Raiden: Stand back!
Shao Kahn: Wise to listen to your Master. Besides, I didn't come to fight.
Johnny Cage: Of course. No. You didn't come to fight. I mean, these soldiers are probably some sort of flash mob. What are they going to sing? "Thriller?" That would be great.
Raiden: Johnny Cage!
"Oh, man. I can imagine Shao Kahn's soldiers singing "Thriller". Then, they'll start dancing and after the song ends, they'll kill you and Shao Kahn will start laughing." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Anyway, Shao Kahn offers to end the bloodshed permanently and he wants him and Raiden to go to the Elder Gods and petition them for another tournament. A final tournament, which Raiden accepts while everyone objects to this.
Sonya Blade: You can't be serious. We're holding them off on various fronts. We can win this!
Raiden: And then?
(Sonya stays silent)
Raiden: We may win for a time. But Outworld is a place of vast resources. He will return to his throne, rebuild his army and attack again. Why place the responsibility of survival on your children's children when we can do something about it now?
"Uh, so you could save it for Mortal Kombat Legends: The Wrath of Shao Kahn." Sean said. "Come on, Raiden. What were you thinking?! THIS IS A STUPID IDEA!"
Sean: (Narrating) Look, I feel that it would be smarter to train for another year. Hell, how about look for some more fighters to join you to save Earthrealm. There are tons of other fighters. Where's Kenshi, my Native American brother Nightwolf, Kabal, Fujin, Kai, Rain? Hell, throw in Jason Voorhees, Freddy Kruger, RoboCop, Terminator and Rambo in the mix. But nooooooooooo! Raiden feels that if he doesn't accept now, then Shao Kahn won't give them another chance and he'll just murder them all.
"You do realize that you just signed their death warrants, didn't you?" Sean asked.
(A clip from Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone is shown)
Hermoine Granger (Played by Emma Watson): What an idiot.
Sean: (Narrating) Anyway, Raiden accepts Shao Kahn's offer and the two of them head down to see the Elder Gods for their little arrangement. Meanwhile, we see Hanzo Hasashi taking his son Satoshi back to the Shirai Ryu village and things are pretty nice. But it turns out to be a nightmare as we see Scorpion, voiced by Patrick Seitz, back in the Netherrealm and we see another villain in the movie, the fallen Elder God Shinnok, voiced by Robin Atkin Downes as well.
Scorpion (Voiced by Patrick Seitz): The island… Quan Chi.
Shinnok (Also voiced by Robin Atkin Downes): He was a fine servant. You have a lot to live up to. Netherrealm has claim to your soul. And your soul… it has something I need. It was with you when you perished on the island. (Reveals the key) That type of magic… is not so easily destroyed. The key and your soul are intertwined. You and the key are one.
"So, in other words…" Sean said.
(A clip from Ghostbusters is shown)
Louis Tully (Played by Rick Moranis): (As Vinz Clortho) I am the Keymaster.
"All you have to do is to find the Gatekeeper and you two can start boinking each other." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) So yeah, Shinnok gives us a very confusing explanation to "the key" and he wants Scorpion to head down to Earthrealm to the Temple of Elements and open the gates to bring him what's inside.
"Hold on one second. I just have one question to ask: why are you here? How did you get out? I thought that you were imprisoned by Raiden. Okay, maybe you weren't imprisoned. Maybe you were taking a nice vacation in Hawaii. Or you were imprisoned in the key and when Scorpion fused with the key, it released you or some shit. But back in Scorpion's Revenge, the key was supposed to unlock Shinnok from imprisonment." Sean said.
(A another clip from Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge is shown)
Quan Chi (Voiced by Darin De Paul): My master Shinnok was unjustly imprisoned, this is the key to his release.
"But in this one, the key is used to unlock the gates of the Temple of Elements. I think Quan Chi and Raiden were lied to. Or writer Jeremy Adams is pulling stuff out from out of his ass." Sean said.
Scorpion: Or?
Shinnok: Or I will flay you alive until you perish, and then bring you back to do it again. You cannot escape me.
Sean: (V/O as Scorpion) Well, now that I think about it, it's a pretty brutal and painful death for me, so I would have to say, NO!
(Scorpion cuts off two demons heads off with his swords and jumps through the portal)
Sean: (V/O as Scorpion) Suck it, Chinook!
Sean: (Also V/O as Shinnok) It's Shinnok, you undead asshole!
Sean: (Narrating) We cut to the Lin Kuei Temple as we see Kuai Liang a.k.a. Sub-Zero, voiced by Bayardo De Murguia, and Smoke also voiced by Matthew Mercer, have a sparring match and I have to say that this is a pretty awesome fight.
Smoke (Also voiced by Matthew Mercer) You've gotten better.
(Kuai Liang touches the side of his face and sees that he's bleeding)
Kuai Liang (Voiced by Bayardo De Murguia): Not good enough.
Smoke: You're too hard on yourself, Kuai Liang. You are a great fighter. Good enough… for this.
(Smoke hands Kuai-Liang the mask)
Smoke: With Outworld attacking Earthrealm, and Cyrax and Sektor still missing, it is time for you to take your brother's place. The mantle of Sub-Zero is yours.
Kuai Liang: No. Not yet.
"Yeah, don't give him the mask. He wants to stay unmasked like on Mortal Kombat 3." Sean said as a picture of unmasked Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat 3 is shown.
Sean: (Narrating) They are taken to see the Grandmaster, voiced by Paul Nakauchi, who gives them their new mission. Their mission, is to hunt down Scorpion. And after hearing Scorpion's name, Kuai Liang has a thirst for revenge to go after his brother's killer.
Kuai Liang: I will find him, Grandmaster. I will find him and kill him for my clan… for my brother.
Lin Kuei Grandmaster (Voiced by Paul Nakauchi): No. He's to be taken alive.
Kuai Liang: Alive? He killed Bi-Han!
Lin Kuei Grandmaster: Know your place, Kuai Liang! This Scorpion… is said to be the deadliest warrior the evil Shirai Ryu has ever produced.
"He is also known as "The Bad Boy of the Shirai Ryu". The most deadly son of a bitch ever." Sean said, imitating the Lin Kuei Grandmaster.
Sean: (Narrating) The Grandmaster proposes to Kuai Liang and Smoke in order for them to go after Scorpion, they would have to be faster and better than ever. Oh, and he tells them that the Lin Kuei have been experimenting with something new for quite some time, when he reveals Cyrax and Sektor, who are now in their cybernetic biomodifications and Kuai Liang and Smoke are horrified to see them like this.
Smoke: Cyrax? Sektor? What have you done?
Lin Kuei Grandmaster: What we must. The mortal body is fragile, weak. So, we enhanced them. Technology and skill combined to make the perfect warrior.
Kuai Liang: The perfect monsters!
Lin Kuei Grandmaster: They're the future, Kuai Liang. And the future is now. So, who's first?
"You know, they better do something different with this. Yeah, do something different like on Mortal Kombat 9. Instead of Smoke being part of the cyber initiative, have Sub-Zero part of the cyber initiative while Sub-Zero stays human. That would be awesome! A Mortal Kombat movie where we see Cyber Sub-Zero. I would be down for that." Sean said.
(We see Smoke getting captured by Sektor and Cyrax, with Smoke undergoing neural cybernetic biomodifications)
"Or they turn Smoke into a cyborg. And Kuai Liang escapes. Damn it." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Meanwhile, Raiden and Shao Kahn meet with the Elder Gods to petition for the final tournament, in which they agree. But then Raiden makes one more request to the Elder Gods.
Raiden: I wish to enter the tournament on behalf of Earthrealm.
Shao Kahn: Impossible. It is called "Mortal Kombat." Or have you forgotten. You are a god and…
Raiden: I do not have to be.
Elder God #3: You are willing to sacrifice your godhood?
(Raiden nods his head)
"Oh, my God. I just realized something. They're pulling a Mortal Kombat: Annihilation on us." Sean said.
(Footage from Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is shown)
Sean: (Narrating) Remember in the film that Raiden sacrifices his godhood to join his friends in battle? And in this one, he sacrifices his godhood so he can fight in the tournament. In which he does. God, I hope he doesn't sport the Billy Idol look.
Shao Kahn: (After Raiden becomes a mortal) You are a fool, Lord Raiden. No… just Raiden now, isn't it? You are a fool, Raiden. Before this is over, you will beg for your godhood back.
"Yeah, we'll see about that Mr. Skullhead. I bet ya Raiden will whoop your ass in the tournament and he'll be the one that's gonna be talking shit to ya." Sean said before he starts whispering. "No, he will not. He's gonna suck… badly."
Sean: (Narrating) Raiden returns to Earthrealm to Liu Kang and the others that the Elder Gods agreed to the final tournament and they must journey to Outworld and defeat Shao Kahn's mightiest fighters and save Earthrealm. Oh, and also that he will be fighting alongside them because he sacrificed his godhood.
Liu Kang: But without your godhood…
Raiden: I am still a warrior, Liu Kang. Where do you think the Wu Shi learned their techniques?
Liu Kang: Lord Raiden, I am more than capable…
Raiden: Indeed you are. I am… how do the Americans say… "hedging my bets."
"No, no, no. Raiden, indeed you are… how us Americans would say to you… "you're fucked." Trust me." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) So our heroes step into the portal to Outworld and… (Sees Scorpion popping out from out of the corner and laughs) oh, Jesus. Movie, you literally made Scorpion into a Looney Tunes character. You had him hiding in the corner and then popping out like Bugs Bunny.
Scorpion: (His voice replaced by Bugs Bunny's voice) Ain't I a stinker?
Raiden: You have escaped Netherrealm once again.
Scorpion: It was surprisingly easy.
Raiden: I am sure Shinnok would like it to appear so. Why are you here?
"Because the screenwriter demanded that I should be in the movie." Sean said, imitating Scorpion.
Sean: (Narrating) No, actually he tells Raiden about the key and that Shinnok says it's magic has intertwined with his soul and that he is the only one who can open the door to the last Kamidogu, which is the remnants of the One Being.
Raiden: After the Elder Gods rebelled, they split him, and hid the pieces throughout the realms.
Scorpion: And if Shinnok gets them all?
Raiden: The One Being will reappear and begin to unravel the realms until nothing is left.
Scorpion: Why would Shinnok want to destroy everything?
Raiden: Revenge. Insanity. He is called the "mad" god for a reason.
"You'll see how mad he is on Mortal Kombat X. Trust me, I know." Sean said, imitating Raiden.
Sean: (Narrating) Raiden tells Scorpion to run for his life and hide since and to pick a side since this is what his wife and child would've wanted. Anyway, so our heroes travel to Outworld and they arrive at Shao Khan's Fortress and they're greeted by Shang Tsung, voiced by Artt Butler, and he takes them to see Shao Kahn….
(A clip from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is shown)
Admiral James T. Kirk: KHAAAAAAAAAAN!
"Enough!" Sean shouted.
Shao Kahn: Greetings, warriors of Earthrealm. Welcome to Outworld. Over the next two days, we shall determine who will be worthy enough to be called the champion of Mortal Kombat. As such, the rules state that none shall be harmed outside of the tournament itself. You may roam freely within the fortress, but not beyond.
"I do not want anyone to go into my private quarters. That is where I have my "me" time." Sean said, imitating Shao Kahn.
Sean: (Narrating) And now, the fun begins as the tournament starts as we see that the first fight is Johnny Cage against the most-hated Mortal Kombat character D'Vorah, voiced by Debra Wilson.
Johnny Cage: (Preps himself with a little hopping dance) Okay! You know New York. Unique New York. You know you need unique New York. She makes a proper cup of coffee in a copper coffee pot. She makes a proper cup of coffee in a copper coffee pot. I slit a sheet a sheet I slit and upon the slitted sheet I sit.
(Sonya looks on at shock while Jax and Stryker start laughing)
"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked? What the hell am I doing? I've paid good money to see a fight. Now, fight!" Sean exclaimed.
(D'Vorah charges at Johnny while Johnny gets ready to kick D'Vorah. She dodges the kick and Johnny tries to kick her again until D'vorah punches him square in the groin and Johnny screams in pain)
"Ooh, right in the…" Sean said, wincing a bit.
Johnny Cage: That… was… my move. (Gasping) I can't breathe.
Sonya Blade: Don't be such a baby. It's just a kick in the nuts.
Johnny Cage: Easy for you to say. You… don't… have nuts.
"Yeah, it's bad enough that bug bitch over here just erased Cassie Cage's existence." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) So yeah, Johnny fights D'vorah and she beats him. Now, here's what I'm gonna talk about. You remember how exciting the fight scenes were in the last movie, right? In this one, they're not all that exciting. I mean, you get to see them fight for like ten seconds and it goes by quick. You have Liu Kang beating Jade with an uppercut, Stryker beating Baraka by smashing his face on the ground and breaking his teeth, Sonya defeating Li Mei by breaking her neck. As for Jax…
(Kintaro grabs Jax by his metal arms)
Kintaro: Let's see if these metal arms rip as easily as flesh.
Jax: Yeah, you do that.
(Kintaro tries to rip off Jax's arms, but instead Jax hurls him down on the ground and gets ready to rip off Kintaro's arms)
Jax: Hurts, doesn't it?
(We get an X-ray shot of Kintaro's arms ripping out from their sockets as Kintaro screams in pain right when Jax rips off his arms)
"Getting payback for what happened to his arms. Yeah, I know that Goro is dead but Jax is gonna rip off somebody's arms and it's gotta be the Tiger Shokan." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Back in Earthrealm, we see that Scorpion is on the run as Sektor and Cyrax, a.k.a. Ketchup and Mustard, pursue him at a warehouse and they are proving to be too much for Scorpion when they attack him. That is until Kuai Liang, who's now wearing the Sub-Zero mask, freezes Cyrax and Sektor and goes to deal with Scorpion.
Sub-Zero: You shall pay for my brother's death.
(Sub-Zero charges at Scorpion and fights him. The two of them continue to fight until Smoke, who's now in his cyber form, grabs them by their throats before throwing them)
"Oh, shit! It's Triborg in action." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Smoke defeats Sub-Zero and Scorpion gets captured after getting his spine broken by Smoke. Okay, this is the best fight scene ever in this movie. It shows how deadly the Lin Kuei's cyber initiative are. Hell, it made the case that the Grandmaster made the right decision. Plus, it was a free-for-all between Scorpion, Triborg and Sub-Zero.
(A clip from Michael Rosen's Hot Food poem is shown)
Michael Rosen: (Clicks tongue) Nice.
Sean: (Narrating) Back in Outworld, we get another solid fight scene where we see Raiden fighting Reiko and it showcases just how fragile Raiden is without his powers when he easily defeats Reiko. We cut back to Earthrealm, where Scorpion, Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke arrive at the Temple of Elements as Sektor uses his flamethrower to burn the vines off of the door.
"Jeez, luckily he didn't start a fire with that thing like Sonic the Hedgehog 3." Sean said.
Smoke: Place your hand on the door.
Scorpion: You don't know what you're doing. You open this door, you've doomed us all.
(A clip from Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams is shown)
Mr. President (Played by Christopher McDonald): We're doomed.
Smoke: Place your hand on the door.
(Cyrax and Sektor grab Scorpion and places his hand on the door, which opens it)
Mr. President: WE'RE DOOMED!
Sean: (Narrating) But before they could eliminate Scorpion after getting the door opened, Sub-Zero arrives to stop them from killing Scorpion because that's his kill.
(Scorpion and Sub-Zero start fighting for a bit until Scorpion kicks Sub-Zero. He runs inside the temple with Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke chasing after him, but they are stopped by Sub-Zero when he freezes them before he runs inside to go after Scorpion)
Sean: (V/O as Smoke) Aw, that was cold as ice.
Brian: (V/O as Sektor) Oh, shut up, Smoke.
Adam: (V/O as Cyrax) Hey, it was your idea to run after Scorpion, Sektor.
Brian: (V/O as Sektor) Oh, blow me!
Adam: (V/O as Cyrax) I don't have a dick! I'm a robot, remember?!
Sean: (V/O as Smoke) Alright, shut up the both of you!
Sean: (Narrating) Back in Outworld, we see that our heroes are busy chilling in the fortress. And we got to get the Sonya Blade/Johnny Cage romance out of the way because come on, we all know that these two are gonna end up together.
(Johnny places his hand on top of Sonya's hand)
Johnny Cage: Wait.
(Johnny and Sonya look at each other for a bit before Johnny steps back)
Johnny Cage: Right. Right. Right… not without permission. So… maybe we could uh…
Sonya Blade: Could what?
Johnny Cage: I don't know. Hang out. Talk.
"And maybe we could do more than talk. We could just fu…" Sean said.
Sonya Blade: I'm going to bed.
(Johnny tries to get a kiss goodnight, but Sonya shuts the door in his face)
"Damn it." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Then, Johnny tries to get some advice from Jax on how to win Sonya's heart.
Johnny Cage: Could you put in a good word for me?
Jax: You want a chance with a lady like that, it'll take more than some expensive veneers and perfect hair.
Johnny Cage: (Scoffs) It's never failed me before.
Jax: Yeah… you look like a collection of great life choices. Women need to be wooed, Johnny. Pursued. Not Coerced.
Johnny Cage: Isn't that the same thing?
Jax: (Sighing) Good night, Romeo.
Sean: (V/O as Jax) Last time I'm giving out relationship advice. Who does he think I am, Jax Briggs the Love Doctor?
Sean: (Narrating) We then get a really good scene in the movie where Liu Kang talks to Raiden about his fight from earlier and that he's worried about him because of his current state. Raiden then assures Liu that he's fine.
Raiden: I appreciate your concern, young one. I am merely getting used to life as a…
Liu Kang: Mortal.
Raiden: I will be fine. I promise. Now… off to sleep. Something I do not think I have done in… well… ever. It should be quite the experience.
"I am going to have some sweet dreams about having a threesome with Anna Claire Clouds and Coco Lovelock. It's gonna be one hell of an epic threesome." Sean said, imitating Raiden.
Sean: (Narrating) We then cut back to Scorpion as Sub-Zero confronts him about his brother. He tries to apologize to him but sorry doesn't cut it and he tries to tell him the truth.
Scorpion: Your clan, they killed my people… my son, my wife… the man that led that raid used magic to appear as your brother.
Sub-Zero: Lies!
"Come on, dude. At least listen to what he has to say before you start fighting him." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Sub-Zero and Scorpion continue to fight each other and the movie goes all MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero on our asses as they reference the game by utilizing the elements from the game like wind. Just make sure you time the jumps just right. One bad jump, then you're screwed. But then Triborg arrives to interrupt their fight and Scorpion saves Sub-Zero and proposes a truce.
Scorpion: They will destroy us both if we don't work together. Help me… or we die.
(Sub-Zero freezes the support beams on the bridge and Scorpion uses his spear to break the beams, causing it to fall on Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke)
Sean: (Narrating) So Scorpion and Sub-Zero head into the final chamber where they find the artifact and Sub-Zero tries to backstab Scorpion because he still has a taste for blood, then Scorpion gives him a speech so epic, that it deserves an Oscar nomination.
Scorpion: That's what makes you different. That's what makes you better. I know the desire for revenge. It's a sickness that eats at your soul. Until you become a monster of regret and pain. I deserve to die. And it would be fitting if you did it. So kill me, if you must. But promise me you'll take that Kamidogu and keep it from those monstrosities. Do it.
(Sub-Zero yells and charges at Scorpion and gets ready to stab him with the ice dagger, but misses him)
Sub-Zero: (Panting) I will never forgive you.
"And there you go. You got yourself an Oscar-winning movie for Best Actor, Best Picture, Best Animated Feature, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, Best Costume Design and Best Film Editing." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) But before they could grab the Kamidogu, the cyborg Lin Kuei trio shows up to stop them and after they've been lied to, they found out that their real objective is to grab the Kamidogu and they escape. We then cut back to Outworld as we see Sonya fighting D'Vorah and she defeats the bug lady.
"You know somewhere there are thousands of D'Vorah haters cheering from this day forward." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) We then see Jax facing off against Shao Kahn…
(A clip from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is shown)
Admiral James T. Kirk: KHAAAAAAAAAAN!
"Shut up!" Sean yelled out.
Sean: (Narrating) Anyway, he faces off with the evil emperor but gets his ass handed to him by a squeeze and a punch. Then, we cut to Stryker fighting Shang Tsung and he gets beaten up by him.
(Stryker gets beaten up by Shang Tsung, who's masquerading as Stryker)
"Oh, come on, Stryker! Don't get your ass kicked by that guy! Where's your gun? Your baton? Your flashlight? Your taser? Where are they and why aren't you using them?!" Sean asked. "I think that they took away his dignity. Hell, no wonder that he sucks ass in this movie."
Sean: (Narrating) Then, Shang Tsung does his fatality… and no, he's not about to get his soul sucked.
(Shang Tsung teleports himself into Stryker's body and possesses him as he backs into a spike, impaling himself)
Raiden: No. Stop!
Jax: Stryker!
Shao Kahn: Finish him!
(Stryker rips his own head off and blood sprays out as Shang Tsung exits from his body. We then hear a sound of laughter in the background)
"Oooooh, nasty." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Fun fact: that laugh that you hear when Stryker dies.
(The laugh is heard once more)
Sean: (Narrating) Yeah, that's laugh was coming from Matthew Mercer himself. When he was recording Stryker's death, it was also his first time seeing the fatality and his reaction to it all happened in real time and he started laughing. And they recorded on that first pass and that's in the film.
"Hell, as much as I love Stryker and they made him go out like a bitch in this one, I did laugh after hearing Matthew Mercer laughing, which makes his death scene so hilarious that I can't watch this scene the same way again without laughing my ass off." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) We then cut back to Scorpion and Sub-Zero as the temple is about to collapse and the two of them meet their fate. Uh, yeah. Isn't there a tournament going on right about now? (Cut to Kung Lao getting ready to fight Shao Kahn) Ah, there we go. Looks like Shao Kahn has a new challenger and it happens to be Kung Lao. Go ahead, dude. Say the line.
"Come on. We all know that you're gonna say the line. We're just waiting for you to say it. Go on, say it." Sean said.
Shao Kahn: Are you ready to die, young one?
Kung Lao: I'm Kung Lao, descendant of the Great Kung Lao.
(A clip from the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot is shown)
Kung Lao (Played by Max Huang): The name is Kung Lao, descendant of the great Kung Lao.
Kung Lao: It is you, who should be ready to die, Shao Kahn.
(A clip from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is shown)
Admiral James T. Kirk: KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!
"KNOCK IT OFF!" Sean yelled out.
Sean: (Narrating) So yeah, Kung Lao fights Shao Kahn and immediately he's not living up to the name of Kung Lao. Well, we can all hope that he doesn't die in this one…
(Shao Kahn throws Kung Lao's Razor-Rimmed Hat at him, which flies right into his chest as Liu Kang gasps in horror)
"I spoke too soon." Sean said.
(Shao Kahn rips the hat out from out of Kung Lao and finishes him off by ripping him apart in a very graphic manner)
Liu Kang: No!
(We see half of his body fall to the ground and his eye twitching and the sound of him whimpering. Shao Kahn then licks his blood from off of his hand)
Shao Kahn: Fatality.
"You know, when I say that you're the Sean Bean of Mortal Kombat, you're literally the Sean Bean of Mortal Kombat! Just once, I would like to see Kung Lao not dying." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Look, just because a character is important or loved by fans means they can't dies. Well, we're talking about the Mortal Kombat franchise, and violence and gore is the main selling point. My issue however is that Kung Lao is extremely poorly written. He has less than six lines of dialogue in this movie and the movie wants us to act like we should feel emotional about this death.
Raiden: (To Liu Kang) I know he was like a brother to you. But he died as he lived.
"Are you serious? The two of them don't share a single line of dialogue in this movie. If I want to feel emotional about a character, I would rather feel emotional for Art Lean in the 1995 film and he's not even from the games!" Sean yelled out. "But you wanna know something, I would feel emotional for Kung Lao from the 2021 movie, even though his death in the movie was stupid, at least his death had an impact to the story and the characters around him. His death in this movie, wasn't sad or emotional. No, it was just to piss off the Kung Lao fans. Well, you did a good job, movie."
Sean: (Narrating) So yeah, screw Kung Lao. As we see Raiden fighting Kitana next and we've seen that she's gotten a bit stronger since the fight with Liu Kang in the last film. Anyway, she beats Raiden and prepares to execute him.
Shao Kahn: Finish him.
(Kitana looks at Raiden and gets ready to execute him. Instead, she throws her fan blade at Shao Kahn, killing him)
Shang Tsung: Traitor!
Kitana: No. Queen of Outworld. As rightful heir, I hereby surrender to Earthrealm, so they may unmerge Edenia and the other realms from the grasp of tyranny!
"Well, looks like this movie's over. Earthrealm is saved and Shao Kahn is dead. Now, all they have to deal with is Shinnok in the third movie…" Sean said.
(Shao Kahn starts laughing as he gets up)
"You son of a bitch." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Kitana starts fighting Shao Kahn and he starts beating the crap out of her and lets her live. Then, Sonya fights him but ends up getting whooped by him. So much for Earthrealm's fighters. And Kitana should've went for the head. Anyway, it's time for Liu Kang and Shang Tsung to duke it out with each other.
Shang Tsung: I've been waiting a long time for this, boy.
Liu Kang: So have I.
Shao Kahn: Fight.
(The Mortal Kombat theme plays as Liu Kang and Shang Tsung start fighting. We then see Shang Tsung infect Liu Kang's arm with a curse. Liu Kang yells)
Raiden: Liu Kang.
"Uh, what the hell kind of ability is that?" Sean asked.
Sean: (Narrating) What? Can he infect people basically? Is this a move that I've seen before in the Mortal Kombat games? Maybe it's his X-Ray move. But then, Liu Kang starts beating Shang Tsung with one arm and breaks his limbs but he let's him live instead of killing him We cut back to the Netherrealm where we Shinnok with five of the Infinity Stones, I mean, the Kamidogu and the Lin Kuei arrive to hand him the final Kamidogu.
Shinnok: At last. The final piece of the Kamidogu.
Lin Kuei Grandmaster: Kamidogu?
Shinnok: What? You thought I had you chasing some bauble?
Lin Kuei Grandmaster: But… if it is put together…
Shinnok: The One Being will come back and destroy all of existence?
Lin Kuei Grandmaster: Yes! It is said the mad god Shinnok has searched…
"Dude, this is the mad god Shinnok that you're talking to and he has all of the Kamidogu. You idiots do realize what you've done, right?" Sean asked.
Sean: (Narrating) After learning that Shinnok screwed them, he has his demons attack the Lin Kuei and kills the Grandmaster by ripping out his spine. We then go back to Outworld as we come to the main event, which is Raiden versus Shao Kahn. Raiden gets a few good hits in, but Shao Kahn beats him up. Oh, yeah. There is this matter of Raiden as a mortal.
(Shao Kahn throws a spear at Raiden, followed by a second and third spear and a fourth spear, mortally wounding him. Raiden collapses to the ground as Shao Kahn steps on his head)
Shao Kahn: Any last words?
"How about your foot is crushing my skull?" Sean asked.
Raiden: Your parents loved you, Liu Kang. And…
(Shao Kahn kills Raiden by breaking his neck with his foot)
Liu Kang: (Runs out) NOOOOOOOOO!
(A clip from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is shown)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Played by Ewan McGregor): NOOOOOOOO!
(A clip from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings is shown)
Frodo Baggins (Played by Elijah Wood): NOOOOOOOO!
(A clip from The Abyss is shown)
Virgil "Bud" Brigman (Played by Ed Harris): NOOOOO!
(A clip from Spider-Man 2 is shown)
Spider-Man (Played by Tobey Maguire): NOOOOOOO!
(A clip from The Godfather Part III is shown where we see Michael Corleone crying in agony)
"Boy, this is so sad. It's as if another character's death wasn't impactful enough." Sean said.
(Kung Lao's death scene is shown once more)
Sean: (Narrating) Liu morns the death of his master and then we get a flashback scene from the first film where Raiden tells him that his destiny was never to defeat Goro, it was to defeat Shao Kahn. So, he knows what he has to do when he challenges him to Mortal Kombat.
Shao Kahn: Yes, come to me. Come to die!
(Liu Kang and Shao Kahn fight while the Mortal Kombat theme plays in the background)
Johnny Cage: Yeah! Kick his ass!
(The fight between Liu Kang and Shao Kahn continues)
"That's right, Liu Kang! Kick that cheap bastard's ass!" Sean exclaimed while he continues to watch the fight.
(Shao Kahn hits Liu Kang with his hammer, then grabs him by his head. He then throws him and steps on his hand)
Shao Kahn: That's nothing compared to what I'm about to do.
(Liu Kang shoots a fireball at Shao Kahn)
Sean: (Narrating) Liu Kang starts to believe and heals his cursed arm for some odd reason. Maybe with magical fire and he delivers the smackdown on Shao Kahn and defeats him)
Johnny Cage: He did it. HE FUCKIN' DID IT!
(The audience watch in silence and cheer for Liu Kang)
Sean: (Narrating) Therefore, happy ending! Shao Kahn is defeated, Liu Kang frees Kitana and the Elder Gods congratulate him for winning the final Mortal Kombat and he is awarded great power. But wait, that's not the end because there's this issue with the One Being. And speaking of the One Being, Shinnok gets ready to resurrect the One Being while Sektor and Cyrax are getting killed by demons.
"Now, here's my problem with this movie, it's the climax." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) They could've just ended it right there after the Elder Gods mention the One Being. I feel that they rushed the climax to make it into one big climax. They could've just saved it for a third movie.
"Hell, if I was the filmmaker of this movie, here's how I would end the movie." Sean said.
Elder God #1: You have won the final Mortal Kombat.
Elder God #2: For that, you are awarded great power.
Elder God #3: But we fear, it may not be enough.
Liu Kang: Enough? For what?
Elder God #1: The One Being.
(Fade to black, then the credits are shown)
"Yeah, that's how I would've ended the movie. But no, they just have to finish up that one subplot." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Anyway, Scorpion and Sub-Zero show up to stop Shinnok's evil plan and they both take on the demons. But they are too late to stop them when Shinnok succeeds in resurrecting the One Being.
Shinnok: The end… begins!
(Shinnok absorbs the One Being's power, causing the merging of the realms)
(A clip from Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams is shown)
Mr. President: WE'RE DOOMED!
Elder God #3: The realms are merging. Hurry.
Sean: (Narrating) Anyway, the realms are fucked because of Shinnok. So, the Elder Gods mention to Liu Kang that hey, you're the Chosen One and this is your final battle. Before he saves the world, Kitana kisses him and the Elder Gods grant him great power to become the ultimate warrior, well, Fire God Liu Kang. Anyway, we got this climax to finish. So, our heroes run into Scorpion and Sub-Zero as the realms start to merge.
"Son of a bitch! This is Mortal Kombat: Annihilation!" Sean exclaimed.
Sean: (Narrating) They then see the Shinnok, who has absorbed the One Being and turned into Corrupted Shinnok.
Corrupted Shinnok: Let the unmaking… begin!
(Corrupted Shinnok starts to absorb the realms)
Fire God Liu Kang: Find cover. This is my fight now.
Sean: (Narrating) After a little flashback from Liu Kang, he turns into a fucking dragon and it turns into a scene from Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Meanwhile, the rest take on the Tarkatans and Netherrealm demons while saving everyone. We also see Johnny Cage and Sonya fighting off some Tarkatans, which leads to Sonya getting stabbed by one and they have their little moment together.
Johnny Cage: I'm sorry for being an idiot. You deserve so much more. This fight, all the death… it was worth it, to meet you.
(The Tarkatan warrior snarls as it gets up to kill Johnny and Sonya)
Sonya Blade: You really mean it, don't you?
(Johnny nods his head)
Sonya Blade: Then… I guess we should get out of here, and… talk.
(Sonya moves Johnny's hand down to her grenades)
Johnny Cage: I love you.
Sonya Blade: No shit.
(The Tarkatan lunges at Sonya and Johnny as they move out of the way. Sonya punches the Tarkatan in the face and Johnny shoves a grenade in it's mouth, breaking it's teeth in the process. Johnny shadow kicks the Tarkatan to a far distance as it tries to get the grenade from out of it's mouth. Sonya holds the pin in her hand and blows the Tarkatan a kiss as the grenade explodes, killing it)
"Well, so much for ripping off Return of the Jedi there." Sean said.
Sean: (Narrating) Liu Kang and Corrupted Shinnok continue their and when things aren't looking too good for Dragon Boy, Sub-Zero and Scorpion help out Liu Kang, with Scorpion braking the One Being's gem, but Corrupted Shinnok is still alive, but Liu Kang gets a few good hits in and destroys Shinnok and manages to absorb the One Being's power. Therefore, happy ending! The realms stopped merging and the world is back to normal and all is peaceful in the world. Sonya and Johnny get together and start creating Cassie Cage, Liu Kang hooks up with Kitana. Oh, yeah. Raiden is revived and he has his godhood back and he watches over them. The end.
"And that was Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms and even though this movie has it's fair share of problems, it's still good." Sean said.
(Clips from the movie are shown once more)
Sean: (Narrating) It has it's ups and downs and I can see why some of the fans didn't like that movie because of the pacing and that it's a cluttered mess. The plot was all over the place. You have the final Mortal Kombat tournament plot and you also have the Kamidogu plot, which I feel it should be saved for the third movie. Some of the fight scenes in the tournament are rushed and you have some of your favorite characters getting killed off. Aside from the negatives, here are my positives about the movie: the gore is still excellent, the first few minutes of the movie was decent. I love the Cyber Lin Kuei fight. Shao Kahn is a pretty good villain and they made him an unstoppable boss and they made him a cheap bastard like in the games and it shows that he's too powerful for our heroes. Also, the animation looks great as always, despite some crappy animation mistakes. They really went all out here and they really wanted to end this with a bang. Should I recommend this movie? Yes. And a lot of you are gonna say don't recommend this movie. Hell, this movie is Citizen fucking Kane to Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. If you like this movie, then go watch it. I recommend it despite some of it's flaws. Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms comes in at 3 Cyber Lin Kuei warriors out of 5.
"Well, that's all for today's review. I'm Sean the Mayhem Critic and I have one more movie left to review for Video Game Month. One more movie! I have sat through every bad video game movie that I had to review. But you know what, maybe it'll be a good one. Maybe Video Game Month will end on a good note with this movie." Sean said.
(We cut to black as we hear the victory jingle from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 in the background)
Sean: HALLELUJAH!
Mayhem Critic Tagline- I am… how do the Americans say… "hedging my bets."
And that is all for my review of Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms. This movie has it's ups and downs, but you know what, I like it because it's Mortal Kombat, come on! So what do you think about this movie and my review on the movie? I hope that you enjoyed it. If you could do something to improve this movie, what would you do? Next time on The Mayhem Critic, Sean finishes up Video Game Month with what would be the best video game movie adaptation ever and that movie is the 2020 film Sonic the Hedgehog and he's not doing this review alone. He's teaming up with his good buddy Lucas to see how well this film holds up. After that review, I will be reviewing one of Ivan Reitman's movies next, either the 1986 romantic-comedy Legal Eagles starring Robert Redford, Debra Winger and Daryl Hannah or the 1990 action-comedy Kindergarten Cop starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. And after one of those Ivan Reitman movies that I will be reviewing as a tribute to him, better pray for me because I will be reviewing Tommy Wiseau's The Room. Feel free to leave a review, add it to your favorites and follow it for future updates. If you want to co-review a movie or a TV show with me, feel free to PM me if you're interested. I'll see you guys next time. Till next time, my fellow readers.
