3. A Juicy Negotiation.
From the Tardis kitchen, where she arrives, Chloe uses her new toy viewer to observe the Console room. She sees the Judoon point to the floor where dust from the floor reconstitutes into the unknown woman she'd seen earlier! A yellow mist leaves the Judoon to alight on the reconstituted body, and the Judoon collapses.
"Dispose the Judoon," the callous command is given by the unknown woman.
The Tardis zizzes and the Judoon disappears!
Now Chloe can see the woman at the Console. After the callous command, she desperately hopes she won't visit the kitchen! .
Some letters fade in on her viewer screen as a label. A message from her Tardis, "Tecteun!"
Chloe's stomach tightens as she realises - the unknown woman is Tecteun, the Doctor's nightmare stepmother! . Such a powerful foul presence; and in her Tardis!
She feels guilty for rescuing her, but then someone else would have done so if she hadn't! . And at least now she can keep an eye on what she does. . But she knows she will have to be extremely careful! .
The woman again pilots the Tardis and a different planet appears on the Console screen.
The name briefly appears, "Juicy".
It appears that this planet has a developed spaceport. The Tardis tucks itself away, appearing merely as a door in a wall, looking like other doors nearby - its usual presentation when permitted.
Tecteun has some business here and immediately steps to the door and goes out.
Chloe rushes to the Console room and closes the Tardis door.
At the Console she says, "Tardis, please show me where she goes." She knows she simply must discover this much.
A meeting room appears on the monitor screen. Tecteun enters followed by a man in a suit and they sit down at a table.
"I wasn't able to complete negotiations with the Daleks, but I will. I had my Tardis automatically pick me up after a skirmish."
So that's what she thinks happened!
Or maybe she's just saving face! .
She appears not to know about Chloe, anyway. .
"I'll go and get your power crystal now, but I'll want your help against Gallifrey..." Tecteun says.
She appears to be colluding against Gallifrey. Chloe suddenly feels very angry with Tecteun! .
"I'll want the gold you promised me!" the man says.
So, that's what the gold was for?
When was it loaded? That might have already been in the Tardis behind Chloe's ... which might have been the same Tardis just earlier in its timeline! .
Chloe's seen quite enough. She's disgusted.
"Tardis, can you revoke entry to Tecteun, and can you move and cloak yourself so she can't find you? I'd like to keep an eye on what she does and where she goes!"
A brief zizz tells her that her Tardis has moved.
Both Tecteun and the suited man leave the meeting room, and Tecteun makes her way to where the Tardis had been parked.
A frustrated shriek confirms that Tecteun can't find the Tardis. .
She retraces her steps, and the Console screen shows her again in the meeting room with the suited man.
"Can I use one of your hyperspace spacecars?" Tecteun asks urgently, building up to a frustrated crescendo as she finishes this request. "I won't be long. I'll return to this time once I've returned to Gallifrey for another Tardis! One that doesn't disappear!" .
"Where are you going?" the smart man asks. Like anyone hiring out a car, he wants to know it will be treated well. .
Tecteun taps her nose. She's not going to tell him where she gets his valued power crystals! He would simply go there himself - if he could find it! .
She expectantly holds out her hand to receive an access pass permitting her to board and pilot such a spacecar.
He sighs. "Very well!" He knows he won't get anywhere by denying her this, though he knows there are risks to him of not getting one of his many spacecars back. But he can see that Tecteun has outlined a viable plan to return it.
Tecteun never returns there - she gets caught up in a much more interesting plan for her own advancement - discovering and acquiring regeneration!
Chloe feels she must track Tecteun to see where she goes. She messages her clone, Chloe One (ref. 69).
I need help tracking Tecteun in a hyperspace spacecar!
Her clone appears beside her moments later.
"A hyperspace spacecar?" Chloe One says. "Piece of cake. They leave trails - space pollution! Your Tardis can follow it easily." .
Chloe's amazed. "How? How do you do it?"
"I simply ask your Tardis, and it will just do it! Just watch!"
She turns to the Console. "Tardis, could you track Tecteun, then follow her spacecar please."
Tracking Tecteun! Risky! Where will she go and what will she do?
