Season 1, Episode 1: New Game

2nd of February/Age: 749

North City

"Tia, do you mind going to the store really quick?" A familiar voice asked from downstairs of a small two-story house while a young girl was laying down on her bed while playing a handheld game device before seeing a familiar amber colored videogame screen appear before her eyes.

[Quest Alert!

Name: Grocery Shopping

Your father has asked you to go to the nearby corner store and pick up some groceries.

Objective: Go to the store and receive the groceries.

Optional Objective: Receive the shopping list and cash.

Rewards: Increased Reputation with your mother and father, 100 XP.

Failure: Getting grounded for a week and scolded by your parents. 20 XP!

Do you accept this quest? Y/N?]

Tia couldn't help but let out a sigh as she hit the yes button and accepted the quest.

"Sure." Tia said loudly before she got up from her bed and shut her game off before making a quick trip to the bathroom to pee before washing her hands and looking herself over in the mirror.

Dark skin with black hair done in a simple ponytail behind her head that stopped just below her chin, green eyes with average height and weight for her age but what caught her eye was the amber colored letters floating above her head.

Tia Munkin, Level: 2

The Player

For a week straight, Tia has been seeing videogame like screens during simple tasks like schoolwork or chores where she developed seemingly mundane skills to the point that she somehow managed to reach level ten with her 'Dishwashing' skill which irked her because of how lame it was but also because the powers seemed real since her ability to clean dishes had in fact gotten faster and better.

She got tiny bits of experience points from doing literally anything such as studying or said chores that developed into skills.

"I must be going nuts." Tia said to herself before she walked out of the bathroom dressed in a simple pink hoodie with blue jeans and sneakers on her feet as she headed downstairs and saw her mother Ria in the kitchen while her father Ben was sitting in the living room watching tv.

Tia inherited a mix of her parents looks. Her hair and dark skin from her father while she got her mothers eyes and facial features instead of her fair skin and blonde hair.

"What am I getting from the store?" Tia asked bluntly before Ben raised his hand and showed the shopping list and the Zeni waiting for her.

"Everything is on the list sweetie and remember to buy the store brands." Ria said with a smile at her daughter who quickly placed the list and Zeni in her pocket.

"No, problem." Tia said before she left the house and proceeded towards the grocery store.

The quest itself was easy and after about twenty minutes, Tia had already returned home with the food items before giving her father his change while he proceeded to ruffle her hair, much to her annoyance while he simply chuckled. It was when, Tia entered her room that she saw that she had completed her quest.

[Quest Complete!

Name: Grocery Shopping

Rewards: Increased Reputation with your mother and father, 100 XP.]

Tia dismissed the screen before laying back down on her bed while waiting for dinner while wondering just what exactly is happening with her and this bizarre 'superpower' she somehow managed to attain.

"Okay, let's see what is going on with me." Tia said to herself while standing outside her home or more specifically in her backyard while her mother was still sleeping, and her father was at work.

Tia stood in simple shorts and a T-shirt before taking a deep breath and experimentally asked herself or her powers to show her something that only exists in a videogame.

"Do I have a Status Screen?"

"That…Wasn't something I thought would work." Tia said with a dumbfounded expression on her face before she experimentally raised her hand and touched the title she had equipped and saw a more detailed description.

"Damn. That's a lot of information to deal with all at one time." Tia said with a mild headache while also taking in all the information she had been reading and for all intents and purposes, it truly did seem like her life had transformed into a literal RPG.

She played so many videogames that Kami above transformed her life into a videogame. It was almost funny if it wasn't so annoying.

"So, what am I supposed to do with all this information? Why do I even have this power in the first place? Did, Kami seriously turn my life into an RPG because of how much I play them? I just like videogames, damn it." Tia said with a huff before a familiar ding sounded off in her ear and she saw something she truly wished that she didn't see.

[Main Story Quest Alert!

Objective: Discover why you have been given the power of the Game.

Rewards: Deferred until later.

As a 'Main Story' quest. This quest has been automatically accepted.]

"What do you mean a 'Main Story Quest'? Life isn't like some videogame where there is a whole plot line or anything…Right?" Tia asked as she quickly ran out of anger and steam near the end of her statement before seeing the screen vanish while she simply took in the gravity of what she had just been shown.

The universe itself could possibly be destroyed if she didn't learn why she had been given this power and by who. Tia felt close to a panic attack before one of her two perks kicked into effect.

[Players Mind] has been activated!

The anxiety and stress suddenly became muted, and Tia found herself in a calm state which allowed her to carefully think about what her possible next steps should be in figuring out how to possible finish a quest that would likely take years to complete.

"Okay, if I am to believe all of this is legit, then the first thing I have to do is try and raise my stats and maybe develop some skills. I should also take up some kind of sport or something to help speed up my physical stat growth." Tia said while planning out what she could possibly do.

Her knowledge of videogames sadly seemed to be her best bet in mastering this strange ability and stopping the universe itself from being destroyed.

"Wait. What about the fighters from the world martial arts tournaments?" Tia asked herself while recalling seeing a few old fights on the internet about tournament competitors and how the comment sections were always full of people arguing about the legitimacy of the fighters and if everything they saw was real or simply special effects. "That's it. I can start by asking my parents to enroll me in martial arts."

[Due to your logical line of thought, you have gained 1 INT point.]

Tia could feel the tick mark on her forehead while reading the screen that practically called her stupid before she raised a hand and hit the x button to dismiss the message.

"Before I look into martial arts I should try exercising first." Tia said to herself before going back into her home and entering the garage where her father had some light exercise equipment that he never used.

Tia simply grabbed some light dumbbells to start working out before pausing after hearing a snapping sound behind her. Much to her embarrassment, she turned around and saw her mother in her pajama clothes with a camera in hand as she snapped a picture of her daughter who picked up the ten pound weights.

"Mom!" Tia practically screamed in embarrassment while her mother chuckled.

"Don't be embarrassed sweetie. It's good that you're starting to exercise instead of staying cooped up in your room all day while playing computer games." Ria said while Tia could feel her face burning with embarrassment and knew her face was as bright red as a tomato. "Don't bother lifting anything more then ten pounds and weight until your father gets home before doing anything else young lady. If you're going to exercise, you're going to do it safely. Understood?"

"Yes mom." Tia said in a hushed voice before her mother left and gave Tia some privacy to lift the dumbbells for a bit until her arms got tired…She didn't want to tell her mother or father that she could only lift them about fifteen times, but it did give her a point in strength.

She listened to her mother however and instead of exercising more in the garage, she tried doing some sit-ups and squats in the house before becoming fully exhausted.

Tia honestly had no idea about what she was doing and instead mimicked some of the exercises she hated doing in gym class at school, but luckily it seemed to do the trick and push her body a bit before she simply sat down on the couch sweaty and out of breath.

"Perhaps we should have started your new health kick a bit earlier." Ria said with a light chuckle while giving her daughter a cup of water while Tia again felt embarrassed by how tired she had become from the most basic and light workouts.

Pros exercise for hours at a time, and yet she couldn't last more than ten minutes.

Tia couldn't stop however and realized just how much of a long training/grinding session she was in for.
