Celestial Spirit King:
Loki finishes telling his story about how he killed Karen and the reason he's lived with that guilt since then. "Now you know my reason, the only way I can atone now is if I die too." Loki says, he then collapses to the ground. "Oh no, Loki!" Lucy cries out, she runs over and kneels down next to him. Loki's body begins to fade in and out of existence becoming transparent. "I guess this is it. This is my time." Loki says, "Whaddya mean your time?" Lucy questions. "For me to disappear, forever." Loki states.
"You can't just give up!" Lucy cries out. "Ever since that day I've been banned from the celestial world." Loki says, looking at his left hand as it vanishes. "No, your hand." Lucy says sadly. "When I killed Karen, I broke a fundamental celestial law. now I have to pay the price. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and what I did. I tried to stay distracted, so it won't constantly be on my mind. But it's like she's haunting me. I've been waiting for this, for my magic energy to finally run out. And now it's about to happen right in front of Karen's grave, then I'll be free. free from the guilt that burdened me. Before I go, I want to thank you. You've restored my faith in celestial wizards." Loki says weakly.
"Wait. I can save you. You can't give up yet!" Lucy shouts, "Alec, please tell everyone in Fairy Tail I said goodbye." Loki asks, Alec nods in response. "It's not fair!" Lucy shouts, slamming her fist to the ground. "Lucy…" Alec mutters.
"I won't let you die!" She declares, "All you have to do is go back to the celestial world, and your life force will be restored, right? There's gotta be a way to send you back!" she continues. "Lucy don't do it." Alec warns. "Shut up Alec, I don't see you doing anything to save your friend, but I am!" Lucy says with anger.
"Lucy it's impossible. I broke the law and I'm being punished." Loki states, "Even so, this isn't right. you didn't kill Karen. It was just an accident! It wasn't your fault!" Lucy puts her arms around Loki. "Lucy I…" Loki gets cut off when Lucy shouts, "Open gate of the lion! Take Leo back to the celestial world! Please! Open!"
"Calm down. It won't work. It's okay." Loki tries to reassure. "It's not okay! I can't just sit here while my friend disappears right before my eyes!" Lucy states, a gold pillar of light engulfs the two and electricity dances around it. "OPEN! GATE OF THE LION!" Lucy shouts. "Stop it Lucy! You're gonna use up all your magic energy like this! It's bad enough Leo is going to disappear, how would the rest of the guild feel if you died too!" Alec shouts. "I don't care, they do whatever it takes to save Loki too! So I'm going to do the same! I promise you, Loki I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get you to the celestial world! Open Gate of the Lion! Open!" Lucy declares.
"Stop it, it's not gonna open for you! As far as their concerned I'm responsible for Karen's death! They're not gonna let me go back!" Loki states, Lucy screams as she puts more magic power into trying to open his gate. Lucy's body begins to fade just like Loki's body.
"Cut it out Lucy, you're starting to assimilate with me! If you don't stop this, you're gonna disappear too!" Loki shouts. "I won't stop till the gates open! I won't let you die! what's the point of having magic power if you can't use it to save the people you care about?" Lucy shouts back.
"Don't do this! Alec, please stop her!" Loki shouts, Alec looks away letting whatever happens happen. "Please don't make me live with the guilt of killing her too!" Loki begs.
"You didn't kill her, whoever decided you were responsible, needs to know that they were WRONG!" Lucy shouts. The last word echoes for what seems like eternity until finally the pillar disappears and the two are somehow pushed away from each other for a second before Loki sees what's going on in the sky. The sky begins to shift and the water begins to flow upwards. "Now you've done it kid." Alec says. Both his and Loki's expressions worried.
"Whoa what's going on here?" Lucy questions in shock. "Impossible. It's him. The celestial spirit king! What the heck is he doin' here?" Loki questions. "He's the king? like the ruler of the spirit world?" Lucy questions. "Yeah and you better behave kid." Alec says kneeling beside the two bowing his head.
"Hello my old friend. As you well know, both wizards and spirits must obey celestial law. and taking the life of a keyholder is forbidden under any circumstance." The king states, Lucy gets to her feet. "Although not by your hand, you are still responsible for your keyholder's death, Leo the lion. Therefore, you have been banished from the celestial world for eternity." The king adds.
"Hold on! That doesn't seem fair at all!" Lucy shouts in anger, "Lucy stop!" Loki cries out, "Let her go Leo, she's come this far. Might as well let her make it to her funeral." Alec whispers. "Alec, this isn't the time for jokes." Loki mutters.
"Old friend, human girl, I have made my judgment and it stands. Leo has broken celestial law." The king states. "No way, did he show up just because Lucy blurted out something about him being wrong? That's crazy. Why would he care what she thinks?" Loki thought to himself.
"Loki's been suffering in the human world for three long years. He didn't kill Karen, but he did stand up to her! Because somebody had to protect Aries!" Lucy states. "I must say, I find it heartbreaking to see my old friend in such a fragile condition." The king says sympathetically. "What is wrong with you, an old friend is still a friend right? Well, there's one in front of you right now asking for a second chance! So open your eyes, Stache Face!" Lucy shouts.
"Stache Face?" The king questions, Alec chuckles. "Stache Face, good one…" Stunned by this Loki reaches out to stop her but stops when Lucy continues. " Karen died because she took on a job she couldn't handle! He had nothing to do with it! You have to change your verdict because he's innocent! Please, sir!" Loki grits his teeth, " just drop it already. It doesn't matter if the verdict is changed I'm not looking for forgiveness. I wanna disappear and finally be free from this guilt!" Loki says.
Lucy begins to shine as she shouts, "I won't let you! You disappearing isn't gonna bring Karen back to life! All it's gonna do is create more sadness! You did nothing wrong because it can't be a crime to protect the people you care about!" All of Lucy's celestial spirits appear beside her.
"Holy shit, I've never seen someone summon so many spirits before." Alec says, looking at all the spirits around. "What about all of your friends you're just gonna leave them? If you were to die, you'd leave me an Aries and everyone else here behind! Think about us and how Miserable, we would be without you!" Lucy says looking at Loki. Loki takes a look at all his brethren, who have come to his defense with Lucy and is struck with another sense of guilt.
Lucy collapses as her spirits disappear Alec quickly grabs her before she hits the ground. "Lucy!" Loki shouts in concern. "She's okay." Alec responds, placing Lucy on her knees, "All of my friends who came forward just now, They feel the same way I do."
"Your friends?" Loki questions. Lucy looks to the spirit king, "If you're a celestial spirit too, you can sympathize with what Loki and Aries went through!"
"Just stop it Lucy, you're gonna end up like Karen if you keep this up! Don't risk your life to save mine!" Loki states. "Hmm, hearing you speak so highly of my old friend has led me to think maybe it is not his actions but the law itself that should be in question. Leo was forced to commit his crime to protect Aries, his brethren. And the human girl is willing to risk her life to save Leo. I am so moved by your bond of loyalty. I shall make an exception in this case Leo, the lion, you are here by granted return passage to the celestial Spirit world." The king says.
"You're awesome. Thanks, Stache Face!" Lucy says with a thumbs up. The king turns to Alec, "As for you young dragon…" Alec begins to sweat. "Yes, sir what is it that I can help you with?" He asks.
"It's been a long time since I've spoken to one of your kind." Alec bites his lip and blood trickles down the corner of his mouth. "Yeah..." he responds. "State your name dragon, I have something you might like to know." The king says, Alec opens his mouth and hesitates at first but then speaks, "My name is Amek, last Watcher and Creation dragon alive. What is your message you'd like to bestow onto me?" Alec says, Lucy stunned finding out that Alec's name isn't his real name and is about to say something but the spirit king begins to speak, "When you meet six humans, you'll find yourself facing a challenge that will have you questioning everything you've once known." Alec just looks at the king in confusion. "Why are you always so cryptic when you ever talk to my kind?" Alec questions, the king smiles and looks at Loki. "You are exonerated be grateful to the guidance of the stars."
"I have to make it up to her, please sir!" Loki begs. "Very well then, if you insist on atoning for your actions in the past, then I hear by order you to live your life in the service of your friend, the human girl. You are lucky to have found such a loyal friend. I suggest you protect her with your life just as she fought to save yours!" The king states as he disappears into the sky.
The water begins fall down from the sky and the sun begins to shine over the horizon. "You heard him." Lucy says with a smile. The two get to their feet Loki takes Lucy's hand. "Hey Lucy, I just wanted to say thank you." Loki then vanishes in a white light, Lucy looks in her hand to see the golden Lion key shining against the sunlight. "I too want to say thank you for saving Leo. It appears you have a good reputation in the celestial world, therefore once again I thank you." Alec says.
"No problem, he's my friend and so are you. I know you're supposed to remain neutral so I'm sorry I snapped at you back there." Lucy apologized. "There's no point in that, it's just one of the down sides of being me. Also don't you dare tell anyone what you heard." Alec states, Lucy nods. "Anyway we should probably get back, everyone is probably looking for us as well at this point." Lucy states, Alec sighs, "Yeah, you're right. Let's go home."
I'm going to take a break from this story for a bit then return due to writer's block. In the meantime I'll post chapters on my other series.
