A/N:- I own nothing
Tatsuya knew the mechanism of Tuman Bomba—a Strategic Class destructive spell used by Igor Andreevich Bezobrazov. He knew how the spell worked and what it was capable of. Tatsuya knew that the New Soviet Union and the USNA were targeting him after the revelation of his secret identity.
However, under his calculation, he could have saved himself and his sister even if Igor decided to attack him in his sleep. Although it was no better to say that Igor attacked when he was nearly asleep, Tatsuya was well prepared to counter it.
However, something along the spell and its counter went haywire. The spell was destructive, Tatsuya admits, but not enough to break the very fiber of reality and tear the laws of physics.
Magic can alter the law of this world but as everyone knows, this world knows to heal itself after the effect of the magic is exhausted. However, with Tuman Bomba, something went wrong. The Spell Dismantle of Tatsuya along with Minami's barrier did nothing to counter the destruction that befell the mansion where the three resided.
And in a full sweep, the existence of the three young magicians perished from the face of the Earth.
--
"Ah!" Tatsuya's eyes parted widely as sweat bathed his back and drenched his forehead. He was panting like he had just finished a sprint. His complexion was paler than his natural shade as he stared at his own hands.
It took him a minute to control his emotions and not let his magic influence his surroundings—in fear of waking up his parents.
'Another dream...or more like a memory...' Tatsuya had already realized every single detail of his past life which he spent as a tool of a renowned clan, which exists in this timeline as well.
Tatsuya doesn't remember when this started but he has gone through all these memories one after another.
Initially, he was terrified. Then horror turned into understanding and finally, he settled with those 'dreams' as a part of his memories from his past life. There was no reason to deny those memories. He has lived and died as the guardian and older brother of the most beautiful girl to ever exist.
Miyuki.
No surname or description was required to define her. She was just...perfect. The being who gave his life meaning and the only person who didn't like Tatsuya for his powers. The only girl who adored him as a brother and loved him as a man as well.
Without realizing a faint smile adorned his lips as Tatsuya decided to leave his bed.
It was only five on the clock. Since he was in the phase of treading from middle school to high school, he has a lot of leisure time. Tatsuya was born talented—both in magic and academics. He was physically too well to the point that he defeated his father in arm wrestling at the age of twelve. His precious instructors in martial arts and sports did their best to take Tatsuya under their wing and have him win many tournaments. However, nothing could go against Tatsuya's wish—what his father told those teachers.
Tatsuya was taught martial arts for his self-defense since he was the son of a famous researcher and an ex-actress. His father has brains and his mother has beauty. Apart from their rare common interests, what they mutually shared was the astronomical amount of love they carried for Tatsuya.
In the initial stages of assimilating his memories and adjusting to his dual identity as Tatsuya from both timelines, he found his parents' affection to be somewhat overwhelming. Yet, as time passed, he came to understand the unfairness of distancing himself from them merely because his previous self had not experienced such parental love. While Tatsuya embraced his past-life self, he remained steadfast in retaining his original identity, refusing to let go of who he truly was.
A perfect blend of a tool of mass destruction and a perfectly normal human being.
'It scares me sometimes...' Regaining his emotions in this life was somehow disadvantageous as well—given he still possesses the two monstrous abilities from his past life: Regrowth and Decomposition.
Tatsuya had always been a diligent and composed child, but he harbored a deep-seated fear that if anything were to happen to his parents or 'her,' he might be driven to dismantle the very fabric of existence itself, such was the depth of his concern.
And yes, in this world as well, she—Yotsuba Miyuki—exists.
"As diligent as ever son? Why don't you take it easy on your day off?" His father—Shiba Tatsurou greeted his son while stifling a yawn as he walked into the garden where Tatsuya was stretching after running around a bit.
The Shiba Tatsurou from his last life and this one was far apart in personality and talent in magic. Surely, both of them loved magic engineering but this version was someone Tatsuya preferred more.
"I just can't force myself to sleep after five," Tatsuya replied shortly after.
"Force, eh? I wonder how your girlfriend will tolerate you." Tatsurou chuckled as he said that.
This is something new—Tatsuya inwardly muttered.
This was the first time for his father to joke about matters relating to romance and all. Although Tatsuya turned fifteen this year, it was still a little weird.
"Dad...why do I sense something deeper in the comment you made."
Tatsurou, who was reading the newspaper on his terminal, felt a sweat trickling down his head but he didn't turn to look at his son and replied nonchalantly,
"Whatever you say...not like I will suddenly force you to get engaged."
Tatsuya sighed. His father, despite being such a big name in the world of magic and a very smart man when he wears his lab coat, was still very simple to decipher.
Tatsuya took the liberty to sit across from his father and rest his elbows on the table. Staring at his father wordlessly, Tatsuya waited.
"Guh, fine! Since you have turned fifteen and will be joining First High soon, numerous proposals are flying to my office daily. They want to fetch you when there is time."
"Time?"
"Yeah, time. Everyone thinks that a young talented and handsome man like my Tatsuya would get himself a girlfriend as soon as he enters the school. That's why they are trying to seal the deal before enrollment?"
Tatsuya asked again, without missing a beat, "And you didn't accept any of them, right?"
"No, of course not! Although those proposals were from fairly rich and influential families, some even from the TMC, I still didn't reply to any of them."
Tatsuya narrowed his eyes, "Didn't reply to any of them...means you haven't rejected those proposals as well, right?"
This time, two beads of sweat trickled down his head as Tatsurou was directed with such dangerous looks from his son, early in the morning.
"Don't trouble him so much, Tatsuya..." Suddenly, a very melodious yet slightly groggy voice interrupted this man-to-man talk between the son and the father as a woman walked into the garden.
She exuded beauty akin to a fresh blossom in early spring, her brown curls cascading gracefully to her shoulders framing a charming visage. Despite being in her late thirties, she possessed an ageless allure, often mistaken as Tatsuya's elder sister when they ventured out together—a misconception exacerbated by Tatsuya's mature appearance beyond his years.
She is Tatsuya's mother—Shiba Shiori, formerly known as Fujimoto Shiori.
The woman didn't halt until she reached her son before she sat on the same chair as him.
Tatsuya, aware of his mother's early morning tendency, vacated some seat beside him before he felt her head dropping on his shoulder.
She hugged his arm and snuggled like a koala.
"Why did you bring out this topic so early in the morning? Didn't we...*yawn* decide to talk about this after the ceremony?"
The Celebration ceremony was the event that was about to happen tomorrow. All the important figures of Japan were invited to this event which was hosted by the Kudou family—to celebrate the new step the eldest son of the Kudou Patriarch has made in the field of magical science.
Tatsuya had vague information that it was related to the alteration of human genetics and helping them achieve a perfect body. This experiment could only be done on a magician and help them create a perfect vessel that could not hinder the type of magic they possess. Although the project was still in its initial phase, the hope of DNA alteration brought forth this opportunity of celebration.
Naturally, his father—a renowned researcher and developer—was also invited to that ceremony. But until now, Tatsuya didn't know he was also going there.
"But it would have been too troublesome to answer his queries about why we are taking him there." Hearing Tatsurou's reasoning, Shiori sighed
"Anata, you make Tatsuya look scary for no reason. My son won't question us even once if we just tell him not to."
Tatsuya didn't say anything about that, but he would do just as his mother said. He was, although cautious, still an obedient child on most days. He questions his parents' decision when he can see definite flaws, but other than that, he generally does whatever they tell him.
As such his father seemed to be exaggerating a little.
Shiori ignored her husband and turned to look at her son before she asked, "We will never force you to get engaged to anyone...but for us, can you accompany us to that ceremony?"
Tatsuya discerned what he might have to face in that event. However, he didn't think twice before assenting,
"As you wish, Mother."
"Activate Section A—third row. Keep the speed at maximum. Engage the protective barrier."
[Command accepted.]
As soon as those words echoed in the indoor training room, a red light illuminated the place before a barrier surrounded the lane where the young lady stood near the front.
In front of her eyes, fifteen round targets appeared at varying spots and positions. They weren't lined up nor had any pattern in which they moved. Yet, in her eyes, everything was as simple as spotting a dark patch on a pure white sheet.
With her CAD firmly pressed against her palm, she deftly inputted the sequences, commanding the intricate dance of magic. In response, three ice spikes materialized simultaneously, spinning with tremendous velocity under her control.
A moment they appeared and the next moment a massive explosion erupted within the target area and every moving target was enveloped in destruction that the ice spikes caused. Functioning as airborne mines upon contact, the spikes adhered to their targets, each column housing five adversaries. With precision and calculated intent, the girl targeted a single foe in each column before triggering the devastating eruption of the spikes.
Simple and efficient.
BUZZ*
A buzz rang before the girl looked at the terminal situated beside her.
'2.1 seconds...' For a magician of her age, this score was something they could have celebrated for. However, the girl didn't look satisfied with the result. She was still a point two seconds later than what she originally aimed for.
Regardless, there was no point in mulling over it as she walked out of the training platform and stepped down the stairs.
"Good work, my lady." An older woman with short violet hair stood there as she greeted the girl with a bow.
"Thank you for waiting for me, Honami-san." The beautiful smile of the girl made the lady dazed but she composed herself soon and helped her mistress to wear the coat.
The wind was still pretty harsh even though spring was around the corner.
The girl, accompanied by the lady whom she called, Honami, walked out of the training area.
The young girl walked elegantly toward the entrance of the hall as she heard Honami saying, "Miyuki-sama, you have an appointment with Maya-sama. Should we head home from here or would you like to have tea first?"
Hearing Honami's query, the girl—Yotsuba Miyuki didn't think twice before responding,
"We should head back home. "
In the realm of elegance and grace, Shiba Miyuki stands tall, her cascading locks framing captivating sapphire eyes that hint at depths unknown. Her slender figure embodies a quiet strength, her posture exuding poise and confidence. With every step, she commands attention, her regal presence leaving an indelible mark on those around her.
Miyuki's beauty defied classification as common or rare; she was simply unique and incomparable. It was as though every inch of her had been meticulously crafted by the hands of a divine artisan.
Without another word, Honami heeded her mistress' words and escorted her to the car.
The drive from the training facility to the mansion where Miyuki resides was only a ten-minute ride. Around nine in the morning, Miyuki was seated on the couch of the living room and faced the screen.
Not a minute past nine, she received a call from the head house and without a second thought, Miyuki picked the call.
"Miyuki-san~How have you been?" As Miyuki stood with her arms crossed in front of her, the screen flickered to life, revealing the bewitching face of the clan head, Yotsuba Maya.
"I am doing well, Oba-sama." There was a trace of a smile in her voice but both of them knew, what feelings Miyuki contained for Maya.
Regardless, Maya didn't bother asking about Miyuki's fake temperament and said, "I heard your magical assessment for First High went well. Congratulations."
"Thank you," Miyuki replied, shortly.
Any other party might have felt uncomfortable and awkward by Miyuki's formal way of talking but for Maya, it simply didn't matter.
Without beating around, she said, "Tomorrow, I want you to attend a ceremony in my stead. Nothing special, just a celebration ceremony hosted by the Kudou clan."
Miyuki was surprised; not because the Kudou family was throwing a party but because she was told to attend it.
Maya has been very cautious these days, about where Miyuki appears after she turned fifteen—given the possible proposals the girl might receive. That's why this sudden order made her speechless for a moment.
Maya was a patient woman on usual occasions. She didn't interrupt Miyuki's mulling before the girl finally uttered,
"...as you wish, Oba-sama. I will go there with Honami-san."
Maya smiled at that, "Very well then. "
Miyuki bowed; seemingly prepared to see the screen blacking out. However, suddenly Maya said,
"Ah, and...if you find someone that catches your interest, make sure to notify me~"
Miyuki already could answer her Aunt that no one would interest her in this or any other ceremony or event. She just... couldn't bring herself to like someone romantically for some reason.
However, what Miyuki never anticipated was the fact, that tomorrow, she would finally meet her soulmate.
A/N:- And that's it!
I hope you all liked the chapter
I have changed a few things... Well, a lot of things. Originally, Tatsuya lived far away from the place where he canonically lived with Miyuki until everything got messed up. That's why he hasn't met Kokonoe Yakumo until now. And also, Tatsuya's mother is an OC, so no point searching it on the internet XD.
Mostly every character and their storyline would be the same, however, expect some exceptions. I will pair up some of the characters whom I deem worthy to be paired up. This won't be a harem yet some characters are bound to be attracted towards Miyuki and her beloved. Well, that doesn't matter since their involvement wouldn't affect the two leads' relationship.
Miyuki's attitude may be a little different because #$#$@ so yeah, give her some time.
Then...until next time~
