On the day of Skye's birthday party, she slept in only being woken up being licked by her dog. Skye chuckled and opened her eyes.
"Good morning, Harley," Skye said petting him.
Harley barked in excitement jumped off the bed, and went to the door of her bedroom.
"Okay, I'm getting up," she said before she climbed out of bed throwing on her housecoat, leaving the bedroom, and taking her dog outside to do his business.
Afterwards, they both went back inside. Skye filled up Harley's food and water bowls before washing her hands and joining everyone else who was sitting down for a quick breakfast. When she was done Skye put her dishes in the dishwasher before going back to her room and starting to get dressed for the day. Harley followed behind, jumped onto her bed, and watched her get dressed.
She was wearing a new two-piece dark purple dress. The skirt hit her at her knees and the top was sleeveless and slightly cropped. Her parents had yet to see it as she had bought it when she had been shopping with her friends. She put her hair up into a French braid and applied some makeup before putting on a pair of flats and went out to the living room where Morgan was spinning in her new dress.
"Well that's a very nice dress," Skye said to Morgan with a smile.
Bucky looked at Skye and tilted his head, "that's the new dress you bought?"
"Yes," Skye said slowly. He was the one she was more worried about his reaction. He was the one who seemed to care a little more about what she wore. Which honestly surprised Skye.
"You look beautiful," Bucky said with a smile.
"Thanks, Papa," Skye said smiling and releasing her breath. Soon everyone started to head down to the event space.
Skye went in and it had been decorated in her favorite colors. She smiled and took a good look around her attention only grabbed by a set of arms wrapping around her from behind.
Skye smiled and turned in the arms to face Tucker. "Hi."
"Hi," he said kissing her deeply.
Skye returned the kiss.
When they broke from the kiss and embrace Tucker took her hand and spun her, "more and more beautiful every day."
Skye blushed a little as she spun around. "Tucker," she almost whined.
"Yes?" He asked with a smile.
"You flirt entirely too much," Skye said.
"It's flirting to tell you that you are beautiful?" Tucker asked
"The way you say it," Skye said
Tucker pulled her in close and spoke softly. "Or is it that you just doubt how beautiful you are?"
Skye took a breath
"Skye. You are beautiful. Inside and out," Tucker said.
"You have seen my insides?" She asked with a smirk.
"Trying to change the subject by cracking a joke isn't going to work on me. I know you too well," Tucker said.
Skye sighed
"We don't have to talk about this right now. It's a party. But you are beautiful and you won't ever convince me otherwise," Tucker said.
"Thank you," Skye said.
Slowly everyone else showed up and Skye greeted everyone and couldn't help but notice her gift table getting filled with gifts. But she ignored it for the time being and just talked with everyone and had a good time.
She went over to Carol when she saw her, "hi," she said with a smile.
"Hello, happy birthday," Carol said with a smile.
"Thank you, how are you feeling?" Skye asked.
"Thankfully starting to feel a little better," Carol said.
"Good," Skye said.
"You are having a good time?" Carol asked.
"I am," Skye said. "Everyone I care about in one room."
"They are all here for you. Because they care about you too," Carol said.
"I know and am glad," Skye said with a smile.
They kept talking for a little before Steve went over and put his hands on Skye's shoulders. "Sorry to interrupt," Steve said.
Skye and Carol looked up at him.
"Ready to open gifts?" Steve asked Skye.
"Yes," Skye said before she walked over to a throne-like chair and sat down. She crossed her legs.
Skye looked out at her guests gathering around to watch her open her gifts.
Skye started to open her gifts. She was as always getting spoiled.
As the gifts were coming to an end. Steve pulled over the large box he had put the guitar case in.
Skye tilted her head. "That is awfully big."
"Just open it," Steve said with a smile. "It's from both Papa and me."
Skye smiled, opened the box, and lifted out the guitar case. "You didn't," she said looking out at Tucker who had a smirk on his face.
"Open the case, Skye," Steve said.
Skye opened it and her eyes filled with tears. "Daddy, this is. . ."
"What you wanted right?" Steve asked with a smile
"Yeah. But Daddy, it's so. . . " she started.
"You deserve it," Steve said.
"Thank you," she said putting the case down and getting up and hugging him.
Steve hugged her tight. "I'm proud of you Skye."
When the hug was broken she found Bucky and hugged him too. "Thank you so much."
"You are very welcome," Bucky said hugging her.
Skye went and sat back down, picked up the guitar, and gently ran her fingers over the signature.
It was only a few minutes later when Happy Birthday was sung and the cheesecake was brought out.
"Make a wish and blow out the candles," Pepper said.
"I don't even know what to wish for. I have everything I could ever need. Right here in this room," Skye said with a smile.
"Then be a little selfish and wish for something materialistic," Bucky said.
Skye smiled made a wish and blew out the candles. The cake was taken away and cut up. Skye went over to Tucker. "I should smack you for telling him."
Tucker smiled, "Hey. You made it so I couldn't buy it for you. Someone had to."
"Not at that price they didn't," Skye said.
"Skye, you deserve it," Tucker said.
Steve went over to the two of them and handed them both a piece of the cake.
"Thanks," Tucker said.
"Thank you," Skye said.
"Oh. And I am very happy to hear that you two were respectful in the music shop," Steve said.
"Oh?" Skye asked.
"Apparently a lot of people your age have not been," Steve said.
"I don't understand that," Tucker said shaking his head.
"Neither do I," Skye said.
"Well the owner made a point of telling me how respectful you two had been," Steve said. "For her to go out of her way to tell me that tells me that you two behaved exactly as expected."
"Of course Dad," Skye said.
"Proud of both of you," Steve said before he went off.
Tucker smiled and Skye looked at him. "Been a while since an adult has said that to you, huh?"
"Yeah," Tucker said.
Skye kissed his cheek. "Well, you deserve the praise. And not just because you were a decent person in the music shop."
Tucker smiled, "thank you."
They both ate their cake About an hour later everyone started to head out saying bye to everyone as they left.
Soon it was just Tucker and Skye left in the party room.
Tucker was sitting in the throne chair and Skye was sitting in his lap.
Skye kissed him, Tucker kissed her back and the two started to make out. They were making out for a few minutes before a throat was cleared.
Skye looked up and saw someone she didn't recognize
"Can I help you?" Skye asked.
"Clean up crew," the man said
"Oh," Skye said getting off Tucker's lap. She grabbed the guitar case, the rest of her gifts had already been taken upstairs, and the two went upstairs.
"Clean up crew is supposed to be in the room?" Skye asked Tony.
"Yes," Tony said. "Sorry. I didn't realize you two were still down there."
"That's okay," Skye said. "Just wanted to make sure he was who he said he was."
"Yes, he is. But thank you for verifying," Tony said.
Skye smiled and nodded and she and Tucker went to her room. She put her guitar case up against a wall. "I will be hanging that up later."
"You're not going to play it?" he asked with a smirk
"Ha. No. That is a piece of art at this point. I do want to learn guitar but won't be on that guitar," Skye said.
Tucker chuckled and sat on her bed. Skye went and joined him and cuddled as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"Now where were we?" Skye said.
Tucker chuckled and the two picked up their kissing again. Skye moved so she was straddling him and they continued to kiss. They were kissing for a few minutes when there was a knock on her bedroom door.
She sighed a little "Who is it?" she asked.
"Morgan. I was told to come and get you both, come to the dining room," Morgan said.
"Okay, we will be right out," Skye said before looking at Tucker.
"When we are ready for sex it won't be here," she said.
Tucker chuckled and patted her leg gently.
Skye got off him and got up fixing her dress before going out to the dining room with Tucker.
"What's up?" Skye asked seeing, Lila, Loki, Renée, Cooper, and Morgan sitting around the table.
"A bunch of us are playing Monopoly you two want to play?" Loki asked.
Skye looked at Tucker.
"Sure," Tucker said. "Have you ever played Monopoly with Skye?" he asked with a smirk.
"I was ten!" Skye said
"What happened?" Lila asked with a smirk.
"I didn't know how to lose okay? But I was ten," Skye said.
"She hit the board so hard I don't think they ever found all the pieces," Tucker said with a smirk.
Skye punched Tucker in the arm. Tucker cringed.
Lila chuckled.
"I'm not ten and I would not do that," Morgan said.
"Good," Skye said. "It was the wrong thing to do."
"Come on and join us," Cooper said chuckling.
Skye and Tucker sat at the table and the game started.
Halfway through the game, Renée noticed Tucker looking at her with some concern.
"What?" Renée asked.
Skye looked at Renée. "What?"
"Tucker has been almost staring at me," Renée said.
Skye looked at Tucker.
"You have a bruise on your face?" Tucker asked.
Skye and Cooper looked at Renée.
"Is it a bruise that formed from the thing?" Skye asked.
"No, got hit by a ball in Central Park," Renée said.
"You didn't tell me that," Cooper said.
"It's not a big deal. It wasn't intentional," Renée said.
"When was this?" Cooper asked.
"A few days ago," Renée said.
"How did I not see it?" Cooper asked
"It's covered with makeup," Renée said.
"Yeah, today. But have we not video-chatted since then?" Cooper asked.
"I have been covering it every day. Not wanting to have to explain to people," Renée said.
"You haven't intentionally been hiding it from me?" Cooper asked.
"No, now can we just play?" Renée asked smiling at Cooper.
"Okay," Cooper said.
They finished the game and everyone went their separate ways.
Tucker took Skye into her room and closed the door, "do you know what really happened to Renée?"
"I don't. If it's not from the situation I told you about. No. I don't believe the story she told but I can't force her to talk about it," Skye said.
"Okay," Tucker said.
"If anyone can get it out of her it's Cooper," Skye said.
Tucker chuckled. "likely."
Skye smiled, took his hand, and led him out to the living room. She sat down and put on a movie. Tucker sat next to her and within a few minutes, a bunch of people had joined them to watch.
