"Whoa, this place is amazing." Jesse said as Flash came to a stop inside his base and Jesse looked around in awe.
"Jesse Wells, welcome to Mount Flash. My team's base of operations and I guess you could also consider it the Central City base of the Justice League." Flash said.
"This place is incredible." Jesse said.
"I'll give you a tour after we check in on Eddie." Flash said, since while he was willing to reveal his identity to Eddie, since he was a friend, Jesse was a different story. Even though she was now a speedster.
"Great." Jesse said, since right now, seeing Eddie alive was more important to her than anything else.
"Follow me. But be careful, you could wind up running into a wall at Mach 3 with how raw your speed is and you can't control it yet." Flash warned.
"Noted." Jesse said as Flash led her to the medical bay, where Eddie was being treated by Caitlin.
"Wait, Caitlin, is that you?" Jesse asked in shock at seeing the head of the biotech division of Argo Enterprises.
"Yep. Good to see you out of your lab boss. Though let's face it, Cisco and I have been running more of the company than you have lately." Caitlin said as she continued to treat Eddie.
"Wait, that suit, you're Ice Maiden?" Jesse asked.
"Yeah, long story, don't ask. But I'm pretty sure I'm not the one you were brought here to see." Caitlin said, referring to her patient.
"Eddie, what happened to you? What are you wearing?" Jesse asked her boyfriend as she moved to his side.
"The containment is the only thing keeping Eddie alive right now. His body is made of pure energy that's held together by his now activated metagene. The suit is the only thing that can contain it to both keep him alive and keep his energy from turning this mountain and potentially the entire city into a nuclear crater." Caitlin said.
"So, you'll look like that forever?" Jesse asked, since while she wasn't the superficial type, she couldn't deny that Eddie looking like that would make dating kind of challenging.
"No. Once Eddie learns to control his abilities, I think he should be able to manipulate his form to look like his old self." Caitlin said.
"But in the meantime, this should help." Flash said as he presented a device that had recently been delivered via Zeta tube from National City.
"What is that?" Eddie asked.
"That's an image inducer. One of Argo Enterprises's many products for aliens trying to blend in on Earth. Where did you get that?" Jesse asked.
"Let's just say that the League has a very high contact inside Argo Enterprises that does favors for us with the blessing of the CEO." Flash said with a grin.
"When are you going to take your mask off around Jesse? I mean Eddie knows who you are." Caitlin asked.
"I know Eddie, Jesse's still a stranger. Though that's going to change since she's now a speedster." Barry said.
"Wait, what?" Caitlin asked.
"Yeah, it was the weirdest thing. When Flash came to my lab to pick me up, he grabbed my arm, I felt a jolt from him and suddenly I can run almost as fast as him." Jesse said.
"That's another reason I brought her here. I want to run tests to see if we can figure out how she got powers and teach her to control them. Especially since I'm already training Kid Flash, so I can take on another speedster sidekick too." Flash said.
"You did not just call me a sidekick." Jesse said.
"Yep. Until you strike out on your own, you're either a partner or a sidekick and until you've learned all I can teach you, you're a sidekick." Flash said and Ice Maiden chuckled.
"Thankfully I was able to debut shortly enough after you did to be considered your partner and not your sidekick. Especially since I'm also on the Justice League." Caitlin said.
"True. But where's everyone else?" Flash asked, since the mountain was surprisingly empty.
"Kid Flash is out of town for personal reasons and Celestial, Cyclone and Vibe are training in the rec room downstairs." Caitlin said, referring to all of them by their codenames.
"Good, they can all use practice." Flash said.
"Anyways, what's this device?" Eddie asked, referring to the image inducer.
"Right, sorry. It's an image inducer, a device created by Argo Enterprises that allows aliens who don't naturally look human or don't have shapeshifting powers, to look human to protect themselves from prejudice. I thought that until you learn to control your powers enough to be able to shift your form back to normal, this could help you out. I've already programmed it with your old appearance." Barry said.
"Here, I'll show you how to use it." Jesse said, her mind already trying to figure out both who the Flash was and who their connection inside her company was.
"Thanks." Eddie said, right as Flash and Ice Maiden's comms beeped as they picked up chat from the training room with Vibe complaining about how both Celestial and Cyclone could fly while he couldn't.
"You want to handle it or should I?" Flash asked Caitlin.
"Allow me. After all, we both know that somehow I'm this group's den mother, which means that it's my job to go yell at the kids. Especially since I've finished running my tests on Eddie and you're better prepared to run tests on Jesse." Caitlin said and Flash nodded as Caitlin walked away.
