23. Author's Apology (3122017)

Hello dear readers,

This is NineInchNailed, after last update in 2011. Now, 6 years later on March 12th 2017, I am now continuing with this long forgotten story for Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds and hoping to force it until the very end.

I don't have many exciting updates or explanations since I've last checked in. I had entered a writer's block those years back and had a hard time getting the story finished. And then, just as it's happened to many of us, life had also happened. I had started some intense working hours and had no time for writing. And then, as a year like that had passed, I had begun moving away from this story and decided that perhaps it was better left unfinished.

I would forget this story and move on with my life. But every now and then, a lovely reviewer would let me know they still wanted to see the story to end and I took it to heart. I would spend an occasional hour or so, on a random occasion, revisiting the story and putting some notes and thoughts on paper. It didn't quite seem to go much of anywhere and I kept forgetting where these characters were and how to connect to them.

I would say the thing that's finally got me to finish the chapter that has been nearly 6 years in progress, was time, a new recent job with better hours, and maybe a 'writer's illness' of sorts. I feel like I won't be able to truly move on to any new creative writing until I finish this one. It's all sitting in my head, pieces of the puzzles, festering and waiting, and I must get it out on paper and here. And so, it has been reborn.

Please accept my deepest apologies, any readers who had written to me over the years and to whom I've never responded. I have certainly been very ashamed in many ways and didn't know what to say to all of you. I couldn't say when and how I could continue, when I didn't know if I could or wanted to. It seemed simpler to say nothing and that is wrong. Please forgive me and I hope that all of you, who have ever randomly stumbled upon this crazy story, are doing well and flourishing in your lives.
