Chapter One: First Day of College
I watched as students walked into the room.
Godolkin University is the only university for Supes in the United States. So, any eighteen-year-old with powers and a dream for stardom would apply.
Not everyone made it.
Truly about one fourth that applied were accepted.
Even afterwards acceptance rates were still harsh. Most students applied to Godolkin University to earn a degree in Crimefighting and earn a city contract. Then they would go on to receive offers for advertisements, get sport drinks named after them, and star in movies.
In a university for over four hundred Freshman Intro to Crimefighting only accepted twenty students every year.
The others would have to find other majors in the Crimson Countess School for Preforming arts.
I still could not believe this is where I ended up.
(Flashback Begins)
(The Void)
"What is going on?" I wondered as I found myself standing on a platform.
Looking to the sky I found no sun nor moon, no stars nor clouds.
Just a vast white expanse. There was nothing for miles.
"Hello little one." A voice said from nowhere.
"Who said that? I said as I tried to turn around.
"I did." The voice said and a man appeared before him.
The man had tan skin, green eyes, and blonde air that parted in two bangs from the front of his head.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Neither my name nor my titles will mean much to you yet so how about you call me V." V offered.
"Where are we?" I asked.
"We are between where you came from and where you are going." V said.
"Could you be vaguer?" I complained. "That explains nothing."
"As far as you should be concerned right now you were going to land in a world that I have an interest in." V said.
"You created this world?" I asked. "Are you a god?"
"You could say that. Many consider me one." V responded. "I was watching over the people of that world when I learned about your arrival."
"Who told you about me?" I asked.
"That is not important." V said as he raised his hand. "Not like this."
An orb of purple light appeared.
"What is that?" I asked.
"A gift." V said "This orb will change your body. It will give you the abilities of a video game character."
"Thanks, but why would I want that?" I asked.
"The world you are going to is a dangerous one. A world of superpowers." V said before snapping his middle finger in his free hand.
An image appeared of a man with dark hair and wearing a medical coat injecting a young man.
"The scientist is Fredreck Vought. A German scientist that fled to America during World War II. The man being injected is Benjamin Carson. He is known by the world as Soldier Boy." V said. "The first in a long line of corporate superhumans."
I noticed that he did not say hero.
"How bad is it?" I asked.
"Come and see for yourself." V said.
Before my eyes a palace appeared before us.
There are three towers decorated in red and gold. One main tower and two others connected by passageways.
I followed after V.
As I walked up to the palace a woman with pink hair in a maid outfit appeared.
"Master." The maid said as she bowed.
"Hello Virgo." V said as he walked past. "Can you call Ezra and have her prepare a meal for my guest and I while I take him to the viewing room."
"Yes master." Virgo said.
I saw her walk off with a pep in her step.
As I walked, I saw countless flags depicting a green dragon.
"Why not just show me an image like you did earlier?" I asked.
"I want you to form your own opinion. I do not intend to force this gift." V said taking a left. "This way."
I followed and took another right afterwards.
Looking across the floor I saw a glass door leading to a giant pool. Inside that pool I could see a blue haired woman floating.
"I would be careful. Aquarius can be rater angry when someone interrupts her soaking." V warned.
I shook my head and continued.
After walking past a few more rooms, I found myself staring at a television room.
"You can watch this world's future. Place your hand on the orb and think of Earth's future." V said. "It should take you about an hour."
I took a seat in the leather chair. I placed my hand on the orb.
I would soon wish I hadn't.

I clenched my fist as he looked at the screen.
This world was in for very dark times. Concentration camps, villains that murdered with impunity, airborne virus that risks genocides.
"The master has summoned you for lunch." a voice said behind me.
I looked to him and had to blink.
The butler had the face of a goat.
"You would be?" I asked after regaining my focus.
"I am, the head butler, Capricorn." Capricorn said. "Come this way."

I glared at V as they sat at the table.
"How do you feel now?" V asked takin a bite of a biscuit.
"This is ridiculous." I said thinking about my future now with an understanding of the world I was heading to.
"Now you see why I want to give you the gift." V said with a smile. "With my gift you would be able to prevent that dark future."
"You want me to stop Homelander and Vought?" I asked excitedly.
"No." V said as he shook his head. "Well, you can if you want. If you are creative with my gift, you could take over the world."
"What do you want?" I asked.
"I want you to teach the supes of that world." V said. "I want to see if they can become better than what Vought would make of them."
"Why?" I asked tilting my head in confusion. "I am not a teacher."
"What you do have is the experience. On one side you have the memories of a hero with a year of stopping crimes and busting ghosts. You also have the memories of a man with over a decade of supervillainy." V said.
"True." I admitted. "Why are you going so far?"
"As you may suspect this world is an experiment. A variable among many I am studying. In some versions I have inserted people to become heroes to see if they can inspire. In other versions I have people to become villains to rise to supremacy." V said. "Now in this version I want to send you to become a teacher to see if these heroes can improve beyond their petty actions into something with foundation."
"That is insane." I said.
"You were sent here by beings that wanted to be entertained." V said. "Is that any different? The real question is do you want to land in that world without the power to defend yourself?"
I barely needed to think about it.
"Give me the gift." I said with a sigh.
"Great." V said with a smile. "After we finish eating, we will perform the ceremony in the archery field."
"I have a question." I said. "How far back are you sending me?"
The answer would be a variable that could change my plans.
"Two Thousand and Nineteen. Before the summer semester of Godolkin University starts." V said.
That was concerning. It only gave me a few years to prepare and apparently a lot of it would be spent teaching.
"Why so late? If I arrived earlier, maybe a decade or so I could inspire more people." I asked.
V just gave him a look.
"If you arrived earlier with my gift, you would deal with Homelander long before he became a problem. You would also handle Butcher before The Boys was started." V said "I do not want that. I want this to be a challenge. Remember I could move it a year later. You do not appear until After Homelander murders Stillwell. After the plane has crashed."
"I will take Twenty-Nineteen." I said glaring at the man in front of me.

"Why are we doing this here?" I asked.
Looking ahead I could see a centaur shooting arrows at a target board.
"I did not want to burn my dining room." V said.
"What?" I asked.
I watched as V began to transform. His body turned green and started growing. His eyes turned red, and he became more reptilian. Three short prongs grew out his head on both sides.
The flags started to make sense.
"What?" I asked.
"Here is word of advice while you are there. Step back and you will age. Hesitate and you could die." V said before he released a roar of flame.
I fought the urge to run as I stood in the multicolored flames.
"You have it." V said as he pulled back his fire. "Now say status."
"Status." I said staring the dragon-man in his red eyes.
A purple screen appeared.

I saw a rather blank screen.

I moved to type.
"Wait." V said. "Before you do that, I think you should change your name."
"Why?" I asked.
"You are not the original Danny Fenton. You are not even the original clone. You are a new person and so you need a new name." V said. "Choose.".
'What do I want to be called?' I wondered.
"Adam. Adam Masterson." I said as I typed.
"Adam. "V said. "A good name to go with your new body."
"New body?" I asked turning around to see V.

"A new name should go with a new body." V said with a smirk. "Now open your inventory."
I gestured to the R button on the screen and scrolled right.
The screen turned to the skills tab.
I currently had no skills.
Repeating the action after seeing the skills tab led him to the spells tab then the dungeon tab before he finally reached Items.
Thirty free boxes well twenty-eight not counting the two boxes currently filled.
"There are two items." I said.
"Take the first one." V said
"It says Talisman box." I read. "What are they?"
"Pull it out." V said.
I pulled the box out and placed it on the ground.
"Open it." V said.
I opened the box and found twelve stones with pictures of animals.
A ping went off in his head and I noticed a screen pop up in front of me.
"These stones are the twelve talismans. Each has a different power. They can be used in combination. Figuring it out is up to you." V said.
"Where am I going to practice?" I asked.
"Use the dungeon tab. Scenarios that you can play trough over and over. Some for training, some for practice, and some to destroy monsters for prizes and items." V said.
"Alright." I said as he closed the box and placed it back in his inventory.
I could feel himself start to fade away.
"By the way I have already prepared a suitable backstory for you." V said.
"What is it?" I asked.
V did not answer.
"Farewell Adam Masterson." V said turning back to human form and cheerily waving him on. "Good luck."

I found myself in Manhattan.
I walked around for a while until I saw my new body through the reflection of a store window.
Then I just sat on a bench and glared at the sky for an hour.
The reason being I had seen that not only was I a few decades older than before if you put Vlad and me side by side we would look like brothers.
I guessed this was to make myself look more appropriate for a teacher.
I decided to use the time to practice the powers the talismans gave.
Rooster gives the user the ability to levitate both the holder and others. It increases intelligence and that increases MP.
Ox gives the user increased strength which a constant boost of plus twenty to STR and DEF.
Snake gives the user invisibility.
Rabbit gives the user super speed. It increases AGI.
Sheep gives the user the ability to astral project.
Dragon gives the user the ability to conjure and manipulate flames.
Using it had given me a fire manipulation skill.
Rat gives the user the ability to animate inanimate objects.
Using it had given me a puppet manipulation skill.
Horse gives the user Healing and Regeneration.
Holding it also gives a boost of times five to HP.
Monkey gives the user the ability to turn themselves and anything else into an animal and back.
Using it had given me a transformation skill.
Dog gives the user the ability of rejuvenation.
Holding it also gives a boost of times five to HP.
Pig gives the user heat vision.
Tiger gives the user spiritual balance.
It kept all the powers from overwhelming me.
I walked from the laptop and table to the stage in front of the whiteboard.
"Welcome first years to Introduction to Crimefighting." I said looking at the class hoping my suit made me look cool. "I am Professor Masterson. I know your names, but I believe that you should introduce yourselves to your classmates. Afterwards we will discuss what it means to be a hero."
