Knox: Oh boy! This is going to be awesome!

King: It should be rather fun.

Knox: Now, let's do this! You all ready?! I am!

King: A note for the viewers, if you never watched this series and get inspired to check it out, just know it was made in 1994 and it looks and sounds like it. Just know that going in. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

As everyone was getting back into the swing of things, the screen began the next viewing.

The screen opened to a view of Remnant from space.

This got Ruby to gasp at how pretty the planet was from so far away.

After a moment, a streak flew across the vastness of open space and toward the planet. Soon, more streaks joined it as they fell through the atmosphere and lit up the sky.

As they continued their descent, Ironwood had to pause. "Hold on, why aren't they getting smaller?"

Ruby turned to the general, confused, "What do you mean?"

Before the general could answer, Gira beat him to it. "Atmospheric reentry. The concept is notorious for high temperatures from acceleration and air resistance. The process can melt stone, even steel, without issue. Meteors that hit the ground are extremely hot and often very small for this reason."

Ironwood turned toward the man, impressed, "You're quite knowledgeable about the subject."

"Just what I've read."

The camera moved toward one of the items to show a massive shell of some form surrounded by a cone of heat as the sky burned around it. The camera then hung in place as the shell flew passed and toward the ground. The geography placed it's landing site in Vacuo. As the camera transitioned closer to the ground, it tracked the shell before it slammed into the desert sands. The impact sent sand into the air and around the pod, surrounding it completely. The heat melted and fused the sand together into something akin to a dense glass that hid away what was inside.

Yang groaned a bit, "That can't be good."

Knox was starry eyed and geeking out like a kid.

Blake glanced toward this scene and nodded, "Definitely can't be…"

The scene changed again, camera hanging on the sky as the sun rose over the desert. The camera returned to the ground as a small party surrounded the structure. One man, the leader, ran a gloved hand across the surface. "Sealed shut."

A man walked up next to him, dressed in the grab of a nomadic tribe passing through the area. "What is it Sergeant?"

Sergeant Blau growled as his hand clenched against the glass. "This… is a problem. It's the signal of the 13th Gundam Fight Tournament."

This got Yang's attention, but also her concern. "How is a tournament bad?"

Pyrrha had a similar thought process, unable to think of a real answer. "I suppose we're about to find out."

The nomad looked between the man and the glass, confused, "The what?"

Blau sighed, "Sometimes I forget how disconnected you nomads are. Do you remember the mass exodus 60 years ago?"

"How could I forget? The planet was deemed a failure and people fled to space on large colonies. It's hard not to know that."

Gira's breath hitched in his throat for a moment. Did he really say that? Then… is this a future world? Or perhaps…

Kali saw this look cross her husband's face and couldn't help but chuckle.

Blau nodded, "Well, they've remained at peace for the better part of those sixty years. Any idea how they managed that?"

"I… can't imagine how. War seemed unavoidable until then."

Blau's hand balled into a fist as he struck the glass. "Simple. Every four years, they hold a tournament. Every nation sends a representative, and the winning nation gets to rule all of space until the next tournament."

"That actually doesn't sound too bad." Sun grinned. "I mean, no war and you just have a tournament every few years? Why not go with that?"

Neptune tapped his chair in thought as he considered the facts so far, "I can imagine it has something to do with that pod then."

Blau let out an angry breath and lowered his hand, turning back to his officers, "Keep an eye out for anyone out of place. Inform the population to take shelter as soon as possible. We've got a Gundam Fight on our hands."

"YES SIR!" The officers saluted before running off into town.

Blau grit his teeth. "Damn colony stiffs… Using the planet like their personal playground without any regard for the people on the surface…"

Sienna snapped her fingers and pointed to the screen, "That explains it."

Neptune crossed his arm in thought, still not satisfied they had everything.

The camera moved into the city nearby. People were scrambling around to avoid the incoming Gundam Fight. It was too dangerous to remain in the city, so they needed to either gain distance, or use the bunker systems. Even then, distance was the preferable option.

Weiss tapped her heel against the ground, growing more anxious, "What kind of tournament is this?"

As people ran, the camera found a man who walked the other way. Where many were fleeing, he strided down the street as though nothing was happening. His blonde hair was messy and accented by a bright red headband with long strands formed from the remaining fabric at the knot. His body was hidden underneath a long red cape.

Ruby was beaming seeing this. "Yes! More capes!"

As he walked, he found himself being stared at. This wasn't that odd. He stuck out like a sore thumb. As Jaune walked through the streets, he knew people were getting nervous; making connections. It was only a matter of time before they figured out who he was and why he was here. He had to move fast. He ducked inside a small bar and made his way to the counter.

The bartender noticed him enter, and found himself conveniently near a phone. One short call later and he returned to the bar. "How can I help you?"

Nora groaned, "That's bad."

Ren nodded, "Very likely."

Jaune rummaged through his coat pocket and took out a torn photo turning it toward the man. "You ever seen her around here?"

The man took the torn photo and the camera moved around to join him. The photo was clearly of Cinder Fall, though much of the context was lost by being torn.

Cinder raised an eyebrow. Why would he be after me, then? Perhaps he's out for revenge for killing one of his little friends.

The bartender shook his head. "Never seen her before."

Jaune took the picture back and placed it back in his shirt pocket. "Guess it can never be simple."

"So… was that it or did you want a drink?"

Jaune sat down tapping the counter, "Might as well. Give whoever you called time to arrive."

The bartender hitched in shock. How did he…? He stumbled back before bolting out, expecting retribution for what he'd done.

Jaune raised an eyebrow. He sighed and stood again, turning away from the counter, "Terrible service." He started to make for the door.

Yang was grinning from ear to ear, "Oh, I really like this version."

As he approached the door, the camera moved through to reveal a series of thugs with guns. One of them swung a hand to the door, "Light 'em up boys!" The gang then proceeded to turn the front wall into a bullet ridden hole. Smoke obscured the scene as the front of the bar collapsed from now lacking structure.

Oscar groaned, "Let me guess… no aura?"

King nodded.

Ruby, in turn, had a similar look now. "That's not good…"

As the gunfire stopped and the smoke began to clear, a figure stood at the center of the destroyed wall. Jaune looked down toward the gang, just brushing off his shoulder.

Yang was having a field day. "Awesome~"

Jaune turned to the leader, or who he could tell was one. "Hey! I've got a question for you."

The leader raised a gun and tried to shoot Jaune.

Jaune's hand was instantly up, catching the bullet between his index and middle fingers.

The leader was in shock for a moment, fear overtaking him. "Fire! Kill him!" The gang began to unload again.

Jaune's hands were a blur, appearing for only a moment before disappearing again. As the firing began to slow, Jaune's hands finally reappeared normally, both hands filled with the hail of bullets meant for his death.

Everyone was silent. First off, there was no aura which meant no semblances. The man before then was just a normal human man. Yet he could not only move fast enough, but with enough precision to catch bullets! Non-Semblance enhanced humans should not be able to do that.

The gang was in true shock not. It was impossible to rationalize what they'd seen. One of them fell back, shaking, "W-w-what the hell is this guy?"

Jaune tossed the bullets away and held his hand in front of him with its back toward the viewers. A red crest seemed to burn onto the back of his hand, a heart with a crown and crossed swords at the lower center. [XIII] was printed at the base for good measure.

Nora gasped and bounced in her chair, excited, "What is that?! That looks so cool!"

Jaune's hand tightened into a fist, the crest glowing brighter as if responding to his spirit. The scene turned dark, the crest being the only thing they could see. It flew along the screen and each moment of impact illuminated the strike against the gang members. Each moment hung on the frame. A punch to the jaw to one. An elbow into another's gut. Another was kicked square in the jaw. One after another until a painting of pain formed across the canvas with a strike against each of the members. Then, everything faded back to normal with Jaune standing behind the gang. After a second, each of the members collapsed.

Yang pumped her fist into the air, "That was awesome!"

Ren nodded, "It was 'shot' fairly beautifully as well."

As Jaune turned to leave, he found a police line at the end of the road. Sergeant Blau slow-clapped for the man before him. "That was pretty impressive. Talent like that is hard to come by down here on the surface. So, if I had to guess, you're a Gundam Fighter. Am I right?"

Nora growled, "Seriously, though, what the heck is a Gundam?!"

Pyrrha's only answer was, "Maybe it's the name of the tournament."

"Then what's with the thing from space?" Sun wasn't sure what to think of that, and this wasn't making it better. "Not to mention that everyone is running away from it."

Jaune glared toward the man. "I'm not exactly hiding that fact. Are you another Fighter, then?"

Blau snarled like he'd been insulted to his face, "Hell no. People down here have nothing to do with your damned competition."

Jaune turned his body to face the man directly. "Then, officer, maybe you can point me in the direction of someone. Whatever your answer, I'll be out of your hair soon enough."

"Like I'll accept that." Blau pointed toward Jaune, "Listen up! You're under arrest for disturbing the peace and vicious assault!"

Nora went off hearing that, "How can you possibly arrest him for defending himself?!"

A hand fell onto Blau's shoulder as someone walked past him. "Come on, Sergeant, there's no need for that." The figure was shorter, with dark skin and mint green hair. Her attire consisted of a short top, tan capri pants, and boots. She looked toward Jaune with a smirk, the camera revealing her as Emerald Sustrai.

Emerald blinked in surprise. She wasn't sure what her counterpart was up to.

Blau took a step back in shock at her sudden appearance. "What the… when did you…?!"

Emerald passed through the line and smirked toward Jaune, "Tell me, what's your name?"

Jaune's cape swung up in the breeze, "It's customary to give your own name before asking someone else's."

Emerald chuckled and moved her weight to the side, "True. Name's Emerald Sustrai. I'm the Gundam Fighter for Vacuo."

"I'm Jaune Arc. Gundam Fighter for Arcadia."

"That right? Then how about you and I have a Gundam Fight?"

"Oh hell no!" Blau moved forward in a fit of anger, "You Gundam Fighters destroy everything in your wake! I'll have none of your fights here! Do you hear me?!"

"Calm down, Sergeant." Emerald interrupted his anger. "Of course we're not fighting in the city. We'll take this onto the sands. No one get in the way or get hurt."

Sun tapped his heel on the ground, "Okay, so Gundam Fighters have a blast radius. But how? I mean, he was crazy fast if that was anything to go off, but it seems pretty controlled."

Neptune thought back over all the information: the danger, the tournament, the colonies in space, the drop pod… Wait a second.

Jaune grinned for the first time on screen. "That sounds fine with me. Better than fighting here."

Emerald let out a single chuckle and started to make her way toward the desert.

"Hold on. First, I need to know something." As Emerald stopped, Jaune took the photo out from his pocket and showed it to Emerald. "Do you recognize this woman?"

"Aw. So that person you're looking for wasn't me?" Emerald laughed silently. "Sorry. Never seen her."

Pyrrha and Velvet seethed for a moment. The flirting on screen was evident to them, even if it wasn't for anyone else. It passed soon after, however, due to the nature of the theater.

Wind picked up and transitioned the scene to the desert. Emerald stood opposite Jaune as the sand stretched on to the horizon. Emerald grinned toward her opponent. "So, you ready to fight?"

Jaune cracked his neck and slammed his fist into his other hand. "Ready when you are. Gundam Fight!" Jaune swung his hand into the air, snapping his finger.

"Standby!" Emerald jumped as the sand swarmed around behind her.

The camera flew across the sands to the glass dome. A piece started to crack off. Then another. And another. Until it all burst away to reveal the pod as it opened. Inside was a large mecha resembling a man in armor. The design was primarily white, red, blue, and yellow. The design could easily be considered iconic in its own right, despite being the first the viewers have seen it. Accenting and painting made the form resemble a decorated knight. Its eyes began to glow before jets at its back boosted the mech forward and toward the battlefield.

Meanwhile, behind Emerald, another mech rose up from the desert. Its colors were primarily emerald green on its armor, sand colored tan 'skin', and small accents of red. Its eyes lit up a bright red as it activated and sand flew away from its body.

Everyone was awestruck at what they were seeing. The last reality showed mechs four times the size they'd seen, but it was as bulky as it was massive. Needing multiple legs to hold itself up. However, here was a mech that looked more humanoid than any other mechanized force they'd ever seen.

Gira, a long time lover of all things science fiction, was enjoying this far more than he expected.

Jaune leapt up toward the mech and made his way inside. The camera moved inside as an apparatus began to lower. A white latex-like material began to wrap around Jaune's body, twisting and tightening around him to hug the body. Items resembling electrical conduits were stuck to his shoulders and choice points on his limbs. His golden symbol was emblazoned on his chest. A mecahnical system rang out inside, "Gundam Shining Liberty. All systems green."

Given that the material hugged his body so tightly, some of the… let's call them interested parties in the audience began to turn pink as blushes formed.

The camera moved inside the opposing Gundam as the same process fell over Emerald's body. Her material was a bright mint color with a darker green gem-like design on her chest. Her Gundam also had a voice for the system, "Sandgem Gundam, on standby."

Cue the same reaction as before from the other side of the aisle.

From the cockpit, Emerald adopted a fighting stance. She moved as though she was drawing a weapon from her side. The transition outside, overlapping the Gundam with its Fighter showed it followed her movements exactly. The Gundam drew a device that extended into a staff of some kind. After a moment, energy poured out from the end and created halberd's head.

Ruby was officially freaking out. Lightsabers were one thing, but creating more weapons like them?! "So cool!"

Emerald grinned, finally getting the fight she wanted. "READY!"

"GO!" Jaune roared out in response.

Shining Liberty Gundam flew forward using a booster system on its back. Jaune drew a sword hilt before the blade ignited to life in a brilliant pink. Both energy weapons slammed together as energy discharged between them.

Ruby would continue to gush, if not for one fact. "That is NOT how you use a halberd! You're supposed to use the staff to block attacks, not the blade!"

Yang turned to her weapon nerd sister, "Wouldn't the lazer just cut through the staff then?"

"That's besides the point!"

"Is it?"

Emerald pushed back the attack and spun the weapon around to thrust the non-beam end into the Shining Liberty's gut region. As a result of the Mobile Trace System on their bodies, Jaune felt the impact of the attack. He reeled for a moment before using boosters to jump away from another swipe.

However, this caused a few skeptics to appear in the audience.

Kali was incredulous about what she'd seen. "Why on Remnant would they design a system that would hurt you like that?!"

"Feedback." Ozpin could see the reasons with so little information at hand. "Say he threw a punch and struck his opponent. Without the feedback, his arm would continue its swing while his mech would be forced to stop. If they control it through a direct motion capture, they need to ensure that it remains accurate whenever possible."

"But what if they lose their arm in the fight?"

"Presuming you're speaking about the mecha's arm, it would likely hurt the pilot, but I doubt it would remove the arm from the Fighter."

King nodded to signal the Headmaster was correct. "Loss of limbs of destruction of the Gundam is not uncommon. But the system is designed to protect the pilot from permanent harm. Though… it can happen in extreme circumstances."

Jaune slid on the sand before boosting forward again, swinging his sword toward his opponent. Emerald responded by blocking with the blade again.

Much to Ruby's annoyance.

Jaune pushed the blade to the side and forced the Sandgem off balance.

This really caught Ruby in weapon nerd mode. "First blocking with the blade. Now this? It's like she never used the weapon to begin with!"

Emerald growled and moved to retaliate. The follow-up action was actually very skilled and well coordinated. She spun on her shoulder and sent a kick straight into Shining Liberty's side. With her halberd abandoned, the battle became faster as the two traded dodges and strikes. Emerald's movements were more acrobatic, but it all still felt rather stilted.

Emerald could tell immediately what was wrong. The armor on the mech was not designed for her fighting style. It was why many of the Huntsmen and students chose to forgo armor altogether.

Jaune, however, was moving fluidly and with purpose. To her credit, though, Emerald landed a heavy kick onto Jaune's wrist and knocked the sword away. Jaune jumped back from a second kick and adopted a boxing stance.

The camera moved to show Jaune inside his Gundam, smirking as he spoke to himself. "She's better without the weapon. But it feels like she's not fighting effectively." A small screen appeared with a loud alarm. "What the…?"

Emerald had a similar panel, "What now?"

Off in the distance, a trio of strange mechs were approaching the scene. All three were uniform: armor colored a burnt red, large tread systems to help them traverse the sand, wide shoulder armor, and a single, glowing yellow eye. Each wielded a rifle with a magazine, likely carbines. One of them, however, had an extra apparatus on its back resembling a spike running down its back. All three were heading toward the fighting Gundams in unison, their eyes glowing as they started to approach the fighters.

Ruby sunk in her chair a bit, "That can't be good."

Penny was observing the situation as best as she could. Much of her observational ability could be considered a scanning system in her eyes. However, that system only told her what was physically in front of her. In this case, all it told her was that there was a canvas. "I think these units are autonomous. They move at perfect speeds to match one another and remain in formation. There doesn't seem to be any human error."

Emerald turned to tell off these intruders, "Hey! Back off! Gundam Fights are one-on-one! If you've got a problem, then it can wait!"

As Emerald went off, Jaune was staring into those eyes. Those bright yellow/amber eyes that seemed to burn behind the lens. The camera focused on that eye for a moment before it morphed into a human eye of the same color. Said camera then pulled away to reveal Cinder. Cinder raised her hands apart over the mechs on the sand, like a mad puppeteer.

Ironwood's eyes narrowed, "I can guess that has something to do with why he's searching for her."

Knox nodded. "Yep. And this is where it gets good~"

Jaune's teeth clenched in rage at the site of these mechs.

Emerald swung an arm to try to signal for them to stay back, "Are you trying to get in the way?! You'll get yourselves killed!"

The mechs stopped for a moment. They moved in sync as they leveled their rifles toward the Gundams. Without a single word between them, they began to fire pink beams toward the two.

They both dodged the incoming fire. Though Emerald was more than a little surprised. "What the hell are they doing?!"

Jaune swung around a few bolts of beams before firing a pair of vulcan guns on either side of hi Gundam's 'helmet.' The bullets merely bounced off, failing to do much. "Damn it! They must have been Fallen Angel's…" He caught himself before finishing.

But there were bigger things to deal with. The two non-spike-sporting Mobile Suits kicked their engines into high gear and flew toward the two threats. The one with the spike, meanwhile, seemed to be bracing itself. As the vanguard 'ran' forward, their shoulders opened to reveal rocket pods hidden within. Each small rocket flew out and toward the Gundams.

Emerald ran through the rockets with ease, being an acrobatic Gundam Fighter. Each rocket would get close, but never hit home as she weaved through the paths. Soon, she reached the vanguard and kicked in its eye/visor. This would hinder the mech as the primary camera was often located in its head. Unfortunately, the second was instantly on her for the attack and bashed her in the side with the butt of its rifle. The two were a hivemind of sorts, allowing for the damaged unit to swing at Emerald with little change. Emerald jumped away from the attack, but a beam blast from the unit hanging back tore into her Gundam's leg. Inside the Gundam, Emerald clenched her teeth as the feedback system made her feel her Gundam's pain.

Emerald cringed at the thought of her body being physically fine, but a system forcing you to feel the pain of getting shot through the leg.

As she reeled in pain, Jaune swung through with his saber and decapitated the undamaged unit. As he tried to attack the second, it booted around him and bashed in Sandgem's face. Thankfully, the Trace System didn't cover the head.

Emerald sighed in relief, spared the trauma that would cause.

Emerald used the new distance to boost upward and cave in what was left of the mech's head into its body with laced hands like a hammer. Though, she still fell to a knee as her Gundam was giving out. "Damn it…"

Jaune growled, "It gets worse."

In the distance, the remaining Mobile Suit had repositioned its spike, revealed to be four spikes, around to face forward around its body. A compartment opened on its chest to reveal a beam lens. Electricity coursed around the spikes as the lens began to glow brighter and brighter.

Emerald cursed to herself, "We need to move!"

"If you love Vacuo, we can't do that."

"What?!" Emerald turned her head toward him, but that brought an important fact into her peripheral vision. Vacuo was directly behind them. If they couldn't stop or block the beam, the energy it was giving off would level most of the city.

Yang growled as she clenched her chair's armrests in anger, "That son of a…"

Cinder didn't see anything wrong with it. If it worked and got her what she wanted, she didn't care what had to be done.

Emerald roared in annoyance, "Shit! The City should be empty! We can rebuild!"

Jaune's fist clenched, shaking lightly, "I'm not taking that chance."

"Are you nuts?!"

"It's this or I risk the lives of innocent people caught up in my war. Like hell I'll let that happen!"

Many found themselves nodding to that sentiment. That said, the situation was difficult to really take a moment to think or breathe soundly.

Jaune swung his fist toward the mech, creating a shockwave that caused the sand around him to fly away.

Knox practically squealed, "Here it is!"

Yang looked up toward him, "Here what is? What's going on?"

Jaune grit his teeth before speaking, "This hand of mine glows with a righteous fury!" Shining Liberty's hand opened as the dark metal began to glow a bright gold. "It's loud roar cries out for me to defeat you!"

Yang started to laugh, "What was that cheesiness?!"

Jaune boosted toward the enemy mech, "SHINING FINGER!"

Now Nora was laughing along with Yang, "That's the attack name?"

The mech fired a giant energy beam toward Jaune, only to slam into his Gundam's glowing hand and be held back by said hand.

This got Yang and Nora to go quiet real fast.

Jaune dug into the sand as the beam was starting to push him back. He pushed his booster system to force himself to a standstill with the beam. As he held his ground, Jaune shouted toward the mech, "Cinder! I know you sent this thing! I know you're listening! Watching! Your hand is behind this madness! I WILL find you! I will defeat you! I will make you pay for what you did! I'll destroy the Fallen Angel!"

Shining Liberty's booster flames doubled in size, allowing him to push forward as his Shining Finger pushed the beam apart.

"TAKE THIS! MY LOVE! MY ANGER! AND ALL OF MY SORROW!"

Shining Liberty's flames now resembled a pair of wings as it pushed forward through the beam. Shining Liberty tore the beam apart as it broke through. The beam dispersed as Shining Liberty gripped onto its head, digging its fingers into the metal skull. The scene burst forward again as Shining Liberty dragged the mech with it as it flew forward. As it flew, the burning wings turned the sand beneath it to glass. After a moment, Shining Liberty's foot returned to the ground and the unnamed mech was tossed a good 50 feet in the air, at least. The glowing hand remained open toward the mech until it reached the apex, where it snapped closed as Jaune shouted, "RIGHTEOUS END!" The mech started to glow the same color as the glowing hand before bursting with a golden burst of energy like a bursting star.

Everyone had been quiet while all that was happening. What could they have said? However, now that it was over, a few found their voices again.

"That was awesome!" Nora leapt up in her chair. "He was boom! And pow! And blamo!" Nora swung her arms around with each word like she was fighting an invisible enemy.

Yang was stunned to silence, just amazed by the scene.

The camera moved to show Jaune inside the Gundam again, his fist glowing with the crest from before. "I swear on this crest. As the King of Hearts I will make you pay for what you've done, Cinder…"

Thus, the viewing came to an end.

Pyrrha turned to Knox, given he seemed to be the one in the loop. "Why does he want to find Cinder so badly?"

Knox's grin fell for a moment. "Oh. Well…" He turned toward King, who nodded saying he could tell them. "Okay. So, Cinder is his older sister in this reality."

"His sister?!" The students, mostly team RWBY, Sun, Neptune, Velvet, and Coco, shouted in unison.

"Yep. And she worked together with their father to create a more powerful Gundam. In this reality, it was called the Angel Gundam. However, Cinder was corrupted by the power and whisperings of the Gundam. Turns out it had a nasty AI of sorts. Cinder, when confronted by the Arcadian government, killed people in the crossfire including her own mother."

This did not sit well with many in the audience.

"After that, she fled with the Angel Gundam, now renamed Gundam Fallen Angel. Jaune's father was implicated as an accomplice and put into a frozen coma. Jaune's hunting her down to bring her to justice and free his father from cryo sleep."

King interrupted saying, "And the rest is history. We can get into that another time."
