King: 150 chapters! 2+ years! I'm starting to think I'm a bit mad.
Knox: Starting?
King: Don't start. Any who, as usual, I hope you enjoy this chapter. It's a moment I love from a series that... could've been better but was still good for what it was. The movies were better, just putting that out there. But it has its moments. Like this one.

After a fun party and a good hour or so to rest off the drinks and cookies, and/or to pack the presents away again. Everyone returned to the theater to their usual seats, though Whitely was sitting closer to the group, next to Winter, and joined the group. And so it was to start anew, and this round should be quite the fun one.
As it opened, a nondescript but epic-in-a-way-voice spoke behind the scenes, "There was once a young Saiyan born to a low-class warrior. He was born Helios, but his time on the planet called Remnant, he became Sun Wukong." A picture of a dark haired Sun in an orange gi appeared on the screen as he smiled and salute/waved to the audience, though he couldn't actually see them.
Sun laughed a bit good naturedly, "Haven't heard that name in a while."
Neptune nodded, memories of the Legendary Super Saiyan playing out in his mind, "Let's just hope it turns out better than before."
"He faced many dangerous opponents in his years."
Scenes of various figures appeared around Sun like ghosts of the past. One was Mercury dressed in a pink chang pao with [Kill You] written on the back.
Mercury wasn't a fan of the color, but he liked how straightforward it was. Right to the point there.
Another showed Corvus with a malicious grin with Qrow set slightly to the side, both dressed in dark purple fighting cloths with the kanji for Demon printed over their right shoulder area. They were the Demon King and his reincarnate.
Qrow groaned. Being his reincarnate? Another life to be lived by Corvus's soul? Qrow would rather just kill himself than ever be another version of that man.
Another showed an alien version of Cinder with a sleeker white body and burnt orange gem-like body parts. The galactic tyrant, queen of a million worlds, herself.
Cinder felt a certain appreciation at the fact that she held the power she always knew she deserved.
Another was the android being called Cell and another pink creature called Buu.
"But there is no greater challenge to him than the man called the Prince."
The villains disappeared to show a new figure. A dark haired man in a blue, skin tight uniform with a white chest piece alongside wide shoulder guards. His dark eyes glared down to Sun, defiant of the idea that anyone could challenge him. Jaune Arc, Prince of the Sayian race. Last of his royal line and one of three (as known of now) pureblooded Saiyans left in the universe.
Nora gasped with stars in her eyes, "He looks so cool!"
Jaune let out a laugh. It was kind of neat, reminding him of old superhero costumes. Or maybe supervillain costumes…
Velvet had to ask the question though, "But why is his hair dark? Every other version was blond."
King nodded once before explaining, "In this world, it followed the basics of Saiyan genetics. All Saiyans are born with dark hair and eyes. It's simply how they are."
"Once the bitterest of enemies, the two became rivals. Friendship forged in battle."
The scene changed to show the two strike their fists into the other's waiting open hand, a double blocked attack.
"Though, Sun is the only one to use that word in particular. Jaune is too proud and would call him his rival. Such is the soul forged by royal birth. Yet it is forever undeniable that they are a partnership in combat. They had faced the greatest challenges their universe had to throw at them. But, now, there is a new challenge to be faced."
The scene changed to an arena set on a large asteroid. There was nothingness around it, save for large, planet-sized orange orbs. The camera zoomed in to find Jaune in a new type of battle gear, being primarily grey with a more sleek white chest piece, gloves, and boots. He stood with his arms crossed, having defeated his previous opponent. This was a tournament between Jaune's universe 7 and its partner universe 6.
"What?!" Nora gasped in excitement. "Other universes? Like what we're watching?"
King waved his hand in a 'kind of' motion, "More or less. In this reality, there are twelve universes all linked together under their ruling god figure, the Omni King; no relation. Opposing universes are similar. One and Twelve. Two and Eleven. So on. In this case, Six and Seven are opposed and have similar qualities as a result. Speaking of…"
The camera showed someone else stepping up onto the stage. He was a shorter man in more greek-esc inspired armor. He was also lankier than Jaune, maybe only half as tall. His dark hair was cut fairly short compared to Jaune's more wild style of hair. A saiyan from the Sixth universe, Johann.
Johann took his position and bowed toward his opponent, "Let's have a good fight."
Jaune didn't move from his stance, but he didn't say anything either.
An alien announcer nearby swung his arm upward to call the match, "Ready?! Begin!"
The camera moved to show Salem as she sat back in a plush chair. The goddess of Destruction for the Seventh universe raised her finger and shot a blast of energy to strike a gong, signalling the start of battle.
Ozpin felt a deadpan on his face. It felt a little on the nose there.
Johann lowered his stance, not charging his opponent the moment the fight started. He was more strategic minded and held back for a moment. But, his stance did catch Jaune's attention. The Saiyan Prince smirked as he watched Johann adjust, "Not just a Saiyan, but he's got my old stance too. Now that's interesting."
Johann dragged his foot against the ground before finally charging forward, "You ready?!"
"Bring it."
But Johann surprised the Prince. He swung a fist around the side and forced Jaune to block the incoming attack. But it was here Jaune could confirm what he sensed before. Johann, despite his small frame, packed immense power in his body.
"It would do well to never underestimate your opponent," Vine nodded.
Elm scoffed, "I doubt anyone wouldn't underestimate him. He looks like he needs to eat something. Seriously, look at those arms!"
Johann continued to punch at Jaune, who only blocked each attack one after the other. Johann swung around with a heel kick which Jaune ducked away from. Johann attempted a follow-up kick but Jaune blocked that as well. When Jaune tried to counter attack with a punch, Johann ducked under it and swung his own into Jaune's gut. As he tried to follow-up with another punch, Jaune blocked it and grabbed his wrist. Johann attempted another strike, only for a similar result. Jaune used this to swing both arms wide and force Johann's guard apart. He leapt up for a spinning ax kick while Johann tried to intercept. He could mitigate the damage, but not prevent it. Then, Jaune's leg pulled in, avoiding the guard attempt, only for his other leg to swing up and kick Johann under his guard and send him flying back.
As an experienced tournament fighter, Pyrrha was in awe at the level of power and control on display. Each move was quick and planned. Each strike was calculated and powerful. Each move was in the moment and had no hesitation. It was amazing.
Johann's breathing was heavier as he grit his teeth.
Jaune smirked as he returned to his usual footing. "Is that all you've got?"
Johann brought his hands back to the side, one hand back against the other's palm. A purple light began to emanate from the stance.
This actually surprised Jaune, "First my stance, now my Galik Gun?"
Johann fired the laser toward Jaune. Purple washed over the scene as the attack flew forward. Before impact, a large bulb of energy appeared in front of aune as he fired an opposing beam. Jaune forced Johann to hold the attack as they started to even out between them as energy met energy.
Jaune laughed as their attacks held position, "If seems in my natural state, we're evenly matched."
Then, they both let the attacks dissipate in unison.
"Why stop firing? Whichever one dropped first could have taken damage." Whitely asked. He wasn't skilled in combat or anything of its type, so he wasn't aware.
"Then the other would just fire again." Winter explained. "They'd be back to where they started."
Jaune crossed his arms again, "I admit you've impressed me so far. But let's kick this out a notch. Let's take this fight into Super Saiyan."
Johann seemed to pause for a moment. "You mean that transformation you and your friend did earlier?"
"That's right."
Johann closed his eyes as tension built, "I apologize but… I don't know how to do that."
"What?" Jaune raised an eyebrow. "You mean to tell me you can't even go Super Saiyan?" It was hard to imagine a Saiyan that couldn't go Super Saiyan at this point. Hell, Jaune's son Pascal had become a Super Saiyan by accident!
Yang would have done a spit take if she had a drink, "What?! That gold mode and a kid got it by accident?"
King nodded, "Yep. Both he and Sun's child, Ray, both achieved the form by accident. They reached the power threshold early thanks to hybrid biology and the fact that Sun's wife actually let his second be trained."
"Question!" Ruby's hand was up.
"Go ahead."
"They're both married? To who?"
Yang chuckled. She wanted to make a joke about Ruby interests, but she couldn't make it for some reason.
King pulled out what looked like a less technically advanced scroll, "Looks like… Sun is married to someone named Nebula."
Sun tapped his foot on the ground, "That sounds familiar. I think I had to work with her on a project for our Grimm Studies class. She was from Vacuo Academy right? Purple hair?"
"That's her." And King continued, "And it looks like Jaune married… Ilia."
Ilia blinked in shock, "Wait, what?"
Johann bowed slightly, "Please sir, could you teach me to achieve this power?"
Jaune's eyes went wide once he heard that. Though he closed them soon after.
"Please. For all my friends and family back on Sadala. I want to become strong like you to protect them."
"Aw, he's like a mini Jaune." Nora cooed.
"Ours anyway." Velvet agreed, but knew the variation on screen was different.
Jaune tensed up in annoyance. "Kid, unless you've forgotten, we're in the middle of a fight."
Pyrrha wanted to argue that the other Jaune was being harsh given the tone, but had to ultimately concede, "He's not wrong."
Johann bowed a bit lower, "Please! It would mean the world if I could use a power like yours to protect my universe. You and Mr. Wukong are incredibly strong! Stronger than any other Saiyan we've ever seen in our own!"
Jaune's hand clenched down on his arm, his blood boiling. "And now you're begging? Begging?! What a disgrace!" Jaune's muscles tensed up and the air around him started to push outward over and over. His energy pulsed outward as he reached his boiling point. "Asking your opponent for a lesson, in the midst of battle?" His body began to glow with golden energy. "Have you no pride? And you dare… TO CALL YOURSELF A SAIYAN?!" He unleashed his anger and his dark hair stood on end. After a moment, his power washed over his hair and turned it a shimmering gold. His aura wrapped around his body like a fire. His black eyes became a blue-green that burned with fury. A Super Saiyan has appeared once more.
"Why is he so mad about Johann asking for help?" Ruby asked, a little concerned.
King opened his mouth to answer, but his answer was lacking. He closed his mouth again and brought his hands together in front of his mouth in thought. "How to explain that…"
Knox swung his body around to lie on the corner of the balcony railing, "Basically because his entire race would be like Raven, too proud and power obsessed to ever even consider getting help or begging. Only difference is that Saiyans are too proud to consider running away from a fight. They live for battle."
That just made Ruby more concerned than before.
Johann was surprised, his eyes wide. He could practically feel the power radiating off Jaune in that moment. Jaune leapt forward and punched Johann in the gut as retaliation for earlier. The only difference was that then they were evenly matched. Now, Jaune was a Super Saiyan. Johann was reeling from the attack and sent flying back, the air in his lungs lost from the moment of impact. He didn't get the chance to fly far as Jaune seemed to disappear and reappear behind him. He punched the younger Saiyan hard enough to send him flying back in the other direction. He flew past Johann again and repeated the process to keep him in the arena. He flew back over as Johann reached the halfway point and punched him back down onto the ground.
"Holy shit!" Mercury was actually impressed. The brutality on display was awe inspiring for the aspiring assassin.
Jaune slammed his foot down into Johann's gut before hooking his foot under the younger Saiyan and tossing him up a bit with a kick. Jaune then reeled back his foot and kicked Johann up into the air. As he started to fall again, Jaune would kick him back up into the air. Then he'd fall and be kicked into the air again.
Now it was Raven's turn to be impressed. This level of brutality wasn't just effective, it was crushing. It would demoralize anyone that would dare challenge him. It was amazingly effective at times. She spoke from experience, of course.
As Johann reached the apex of his current, unwanted flight, he tried to call out weakly. "I… give… up…" It was too low for most to hear particularly the referee.
Unfortunately for him, Jaune did hear it. This time, as Johann fell, he was grabbed by Jaune and held up by his collar. Jaune's eyes couldn't be seen at the current angle of the camera scene, shrouded in darkness. "Listen you little shit. If you give up on me…" His fist tightened around the fabric of Johann's collar, "I will kill you."
Nora groaned as he head hung down a little, "Oh man… He's a Psycho-Jaune…"
Jaune tapped his foot on the ground in thought. It was hard to tell, but he couldn't agree with that. Not yet, anyway. There was something about this fight that didn't seem like a, as they call it, a Psycho-Jaune. He didn't like what he was seeing, but it felt different.
Johann was having difficulties answering, still winded, "But… the rules…" If Jaune killed him, it would count as a loss and spell the defeat for his team. And when the stakes are Remnant's place in the universe, they couldn't afford that.
Jaune growled as he raised his other hand to the side. He created a ball of golden energy in his palm. "I've had enough of this. You're a disgrace as a Saiyan. If this is the best you and your race can muster, then you only bring more disgrace on the name Saiyan. When I'm done here, I'll go to your universe and destroy your planet Sadala. But first, I'll hunt down everyone you've known and loved. I'll send every one of them to their deaths. I doubt you'll want to see them in the next life, however. Not after what I'll do to them."
His voice was way too sinister there. It scared many in the audience. With three exceptions. Raven, having lived so long in a Bandit clan, was used to this kind of thing. Cinder was a sociopath from minute one, so this was nothing special. Then there was Jaune. He felt a chill in fear of the words and implications, but he also felt like it wasn't sincere.
Jaune then had a wide-eyed eureka moment. "He's not…"
Johann swung his hand against Jaune's. In normal circumstances, that would do little. However, the strike knocked the beam orb away and got Jaune to let go in surprise. Johann was glowing slightly as gold surrounded him. "They have nothing to do with this! If you so much as try to hurt them…" The glow around his body began to brighten around him as his dark hair stood farther on end and started to glow gold. "I WILL MAKE YOU PAY!" That was the final nail in this coffin. With a roar of defiance and rage, his body was finally awash in golden flames as he unlocked his latent power.
"He went Super!" Yang was practically beaming at the idea of Super Saiyan, but she also had to ask, "But how? Why? He didn't learn anything to use it."
"That's not how Super Saiyan works." King attempted to explain, but was cut off.
"It's emotional, right?" Jaune asked.
"Correct. It will be explained, but I can fill in during the moment."
Johann flew forward into a flurry of punches again. However, unlike last time, his punches were little more than a rain of blurs. His fists swung so fast, they heated the air around him and created smoke. Nothing too fast for Jaune to block, but he was being pushed back from the assault. Jaune tried to repeat the guard break from before, but Johann now enhanced speed allowed him to recognize a way around. He dropped low and kicked Jaune off the ground and then brought his hands to the floor and kicked back to send Jaune flying. Johann disappeared and reappeared behind Jaune to slam his fists down onto the Prince and send him back to the ground in a crater. Jaune could feel something approaching and looked up to find a series of energy blasts raining down toward him. He blocked the incoming assault, but it was taking a toll. But, once his sense of strain passed, he smirked. He let out a chuckle and swung his arm aside and up toward the blasts, causing all of the remaining attacks to burst in the air.
Nora was wide eyed and amazed at the explosive power on display.
As the attacks dissipated Jaune stood there with eyes closed and a content smile on his face.
"What's he doing?" Elm asked.
Johann returned to the ground and charged toward Jaune with a fist reared back.
Ilia got a little concerned, "Why is he just standing there?"
Johann punched forward and the impact created a golden burst of light from two Super Saiyans colliding. "Alright then." Jaune was now leaning forward to bring his forehead against Johann's fist. He still had that smirk on his face. "That'll do nicely. Now, don't forget that sensation."
Johann raised an eyebrow in confusion, only to finally see his own fist there now that it wasn't flying forward at sonic speeds. He could see the aura flaring off of him and he looked on in surprise. He took a step back and looked from one hand to the other.
Jaune stood and crossed his arms again, "The easiest trigger for the Super Saiyan transformation is anger. So hold onto that sensation."
"Is that why he said all those mean things?" Ruby asked.
King though about going over it, but decided against. "I'll explain it at the end."
Johann followed the line of thought and looked on in shock, "Then… when you said all those things… you were just teaching me to transform?"
"That's right. Now, focus. Hold that emotion and transform back into a Super Saiyan."
Johann hesitated for a moment.
Which got Jaune yelling, "Well?! I said transform! Don't make me say it again!"
Johann stiffened up like a soldier who'd just been reprimanded. "Yes! Okay!" He relaxed again only to tense up in a new stance with arms curling slightly to the side. He focused on his emotions and soon unleashed the golden power again.
"Good. Seems you're a quick learner."
Johann let out a breath and bowed slightly to Jaune. "Thank you for teaching me to transform like you."
Cinder scoffed, "Still a dumb idea. Teaching your opponent in the middle of a fight is just stupid. He was better off just beating him and moving on. Now they're even again."
Knox just snickered for a moment before busting up laughing.
"What's so funny?"
Jaune closed his eyes and took a deep breath. After a moment, he returned to his tensing stance and let out a quick yell. Suddenly, the world was awash in blue. WHen they could see again, Jaune appeared like a blue silhouette. Small bits of the blue began to peel off and disappear around Jaune. When he was free of all the energy around him, his aura was a shimmering blue and his hair was a similar blue color. His eyes became a deep royal blue. Functionally, it looked like Super Saiyan, just blue. All the while, music rang out through the speakers for effect, like a song of a god made manifest as he stood before them
Cinder blinked, not sure what she was supposed to think about it, but couldn't see why it was so impressive.
Johann could feel the energy washing off Jaune in that moment. He took a step away in surprise. "W-what's going on? You're blue."
Jaune raised a hand up to look toward it as he clenched his fist. "This is the power of a Super Saiyan god who has further ascended with the power of a Super Saiyan."
"Woah, woah, WOAH!" Nora took a 'hold up' stance, "He's a god?!"
"Not really." King corrected, "But he trained with one. He's trained under Salem, the goddess of destruction, and her angelic attendant Ozpin."
Ozpin raised an eyebrow. "Angelic attendant?"
"Yep. Your job in this reality is training the goddess of destruction and fix anything that goes wrong while she's doing her job."
Jaune continued, "If I'm being honest, it doesn't really have much of a name, though none of the Super Saiyan forms really do. For now, we call it Super Saiyan Blue until we come up with better."
"It looks… so strong."
"Train. Continue to grow stronger and perhaps you too can achieve a power like this."
This got Johann a little excited, his Saiyan genes acting on his desire to be stronger. "You mean… I can be that strong too?"
A streak of blue light seemed to fly forward and show Jaune had closed the distance to punch Johann in the gut. "Never forget this pain. Strive for more and never let anyone surpass you without a fight. If they do, then push to be stronger still."
Johann lost consciousness and fell to the ground. The match was called in Jaune's favor.
"That was awesome!" Yang was having a field day with the Saiyan realities, and this was no different. Sure, it wasn't as funny as the others, but this worked for her.
"Now, for that explanation I promised." King snapped his fingers and a board appeared next to him. "While not inaccurate, there is more to it than that." He tapped the board and a set of chibi-esc drawings of Sun, Jaune, and Johann appeared on the board. "Each Saiyan can achieve the basic level of Super Saiyan after two prerequisites are met. The first is a power threshold, which all of these three met. If your body can't handle it, it won't bother. The second is a triggering emotion. This is desperate rage. The idea that you hate your opponent so much, you cannot allow them any sense of mercy. This is what Johann never had." The Sun and Jaune pictures turned gold while Johann didn't. "Unlike Jaune and Sun, Johann still has his planet and race. If Johann fails, another can stand up and protect the others. But Jaune and Sun don't have that. They are alone, and as such they had to unleash this anger sooner. It's not about wanting to be strong. It's about needing to be stronger."
"So, he was teaching him to go Super Saiyan by making him angry?" Pyrrha asked, happy that she didn't need to see a Psycho-Jaune again. Even if she knew it would happen again, she didn't like them.
"That's the idea. Once you unleash the power first, it becomes easier to access."
"Hold up," Harriet shouted, "How does that explain those kids that got it by accident?"
"Okay, so, Sun's children Nova and Ray as well as Jaune's son Pascal achieved the Super Saiyan state despite being very young at the time. Ray and Pascal are the two that got it by accident. They could do so thanks to being both Saiyan and Human. This combination makes them stronger earlier and allows them to sidestep some of the necessary steps to become Super. However, they still have that last hurdle if they ever try to go to the next level."
That got Yang's attention, "Next level?!"
"Yes." King snapped his finger and Sun and Jaune's golden form became sharper and crackled with electricity. "Super Saiyan 2. And beyond that is Super Saiyan 3." Another snap and Sun turned to his next form. Complete with massive hair and no eyebrows.
Nora started to laugh at the appearance.
Sun just sighed and shook his head.
"Above this, however, is where things divert for now. But, we'll stick with the highlights. Super Saiyan 4 in one timeline." A snap showed both in the red ape-esc form. "The other has Super Saiyan god," then the red haired form, "and the Super Saiyan god Super Saiyan or Super Saiyan Blue." Last snap and both turned blue. "All are significantly powerful in their own right. But enough about them for now."
