Gary: Hello everyone
Me: How did you get in?
Gary: What are you talking about? I work here
Alex: Gary!
Alex starts chasing Gary trying to hit him with his bat
Me: Enough!
They stop
Me: Gary announce the chapter name and then you can leave. You've got the week off
Gary: Chapter 5-The Waterflowers of Cerulean City
Late at night in the city of Cerulean, a vent cover is taken off. Team Rocket peak their heads into the room
"Nobody here" Jessie says
"Nothing to fear" James says
They hop down into the room and look around at all the machines before finding the one they are looking for: a giant vacuum
"The Exact thing we need" Jessie says
"For exactly what we want" James says
"Pokemon!" Meowth exclaims
The next day Ash, Alex, Brock and Pikachu enter Cerulean City
"Hey Misty's not following us anymore." Ash says confused
"I guess she really didn't want to come here." Brock replies
"I'm sure we'll run into her later." Alex adds

Pikachu points ahead to where a large crowd is gathered outside of a store
"Huh I wonder what's going on there?"
"Let's check it out."
The four of them head over to join the crowd. They push to the front and see that the police are keeping people out of the store. Ash looks at the man standing next to them
"Excuse me do you know what happened here?"
"Some burglars broke into the store last night." He replies
"Burglars?"
"What do you know about burglars?" Someone asks them. They turn and see Officer Jenny. Brock immediately goes in lovestruck mode
"Officer Jenny?"
"You three look very suspicious." She tells them
"No no. Uh I met the Officer Jenny in Viridian." Ash tells her quickly
"Oh you met my sister-in-law."
"Say what now?" Alex asks extremely confused
"If you know my sister-in-law then you've probably had dealings with the police in Viridian." Jenny leans in accusatory
"No I-"
"Now maybe you just stopped to ask for directions. Or maybe you found a wallet on the street and turned it in. OR MAYBE YOU'RE A BURGLAR WHO BROKE OUT OF JAIL!"
"I've never been to jail!" Ash says desperately
"If I confess to this crime will I get to spend more time with you?" Brock adds in. Everyone just stares at him confused
"Ok you're innocent. No way that boy is a master criminal. I'm sorry for being suspicious. Although now I'm suspicious of my sister-in-law, she sure has weird taste in friends..." Jenny mumbles to herself
"So are we just gonna ignore that whole sister-in-law thing or-" Alex starts saying before being interupted
"Miss I was wondering since I'm new in town maybe we could get together tonight and you could show me around." Brock says
"Well I'm not off-duty till past your bedtime," Brock immediately slumps over depressed, "And I may even have to work around the clock to catch these burglars."
"What exactly did they steal?" Ash asks
"That's the strangest thing. They only took a massive vacuum and a giant hose."
"I wonder what they want with that?"
"That's what we're trying to figure out. Now move along I have work to do." Officer Jenny shoos them away.
The four of them are sitting on a bench
"Hey Brock do you know anything about the Cerulean City gym leader?" Ash asks
"Not much I'm afraid. I know they specialize in Water types but that's it." Brock replies
"Water types huh. Good thing I caught that Paras." Alex adds
"You hear that Pikachu? This gym is gonna be easy." Ash says
Pikapika!
Brock stands up
"Well goodluck you guys. I'm gonna go restock on our supplies and get some personal stuff. I'll see you later."
"Alright bye Brock."
Brock heads off by himself. Ash turns to look at Alex
"So how do we decide who gets to challenge the gym first?"
"Rock, paper, scissors?"
Ash has a huge grin on his face while Alex is glaring at him
"It should be around here somewhere." Ash says. They turn a corner and come across the gym
"Wow. It looks more like a stadium than a Pokemon gym." Ash says
They head inside but the lobby is empty
"Where is everyone?"
They can hear cheering coming from further in
"Where there's smoke there's fire." Alex suggests and they head further in. They see a bunch of people gathered in the stands all around a giant pool and a very tall diving board.
"What's going on here?" Ash asks confused
"This looks more like a performance than a Pokemon gym." Alex says
"And for their final show of the night. Please welcome the beautiful Sensational Sisters of Cerulean City." some speakers around the stadium announce.
The crowd cheers at that and the spotlight shines on the diving board revealing three women who are wearing identical swim dresses, just in different colours. The three sisters wave at their adoring crowd before diving off the board and gracefully land in the water. They start performing water ballet while the crowd claps and cheers.
Ash scratches his head confused. "I thought this was the Pokemon gym?"
Alex and Pikachu on the other hand are very much enjoying the show.
"I wish I owned a phone."
The three of them are walking around the Aquarium section of the gym. Ash is looking at all the Water Pokemon swimming around
"I don't understand. If they're gym leaders then why aren't they battling?" Ash asks confused
"Ash gym leaders can have interests outside of battling. I mean look at Brock." Alex says
"That was totally awesome." They hear a voice. The three Sensational sisters are making their way down the hall. They have dried themselves off and the towels are now wrapped around their necks
"I know I think that was like our best show ever." The pink headed sister says.
"Daisy the dive you did was super." The blue headed sister says
"Practice makes perfect." Daisy, the blonde headed sister, replies
"Totally." The pink headed sister says
"Uh excuse me." Ash interrupts them
"I'm sorry but if you want an interview then you have to uh call our manager." The pink headed sister tells him
"No it's not that." Ash says
"We don't do autographs." She replies
"I don't want one." Ash says
"Although a picture would be nice." Alex adds
Pikachu
"I just wanted to ask if this is a Pokemon gym." Ash says
"It sure is." Daisy says
"Well I'm looking for the gym leader." Ash says
"You're looking at them." The blue headed sister says
"What?"
"The three of us are the gym leaders. I'm Daisy."
"I'm Violet." The blue headed sister says
"And I'm Lily. We're the Sensational Sisters." The pink headed sister says
"We're world famous." Violet adds
"But what's with all that swimming?" Ash asks confused
"It's like our hobby and our fans love to watch our perform." Lily says
Alex and Pikachu nod in agreement
"Come let's go talk near the pool." Daisy says and they start walking. Alex leans closer to Ash
"Do you think we can buy tickets for their next show?" Alex whispers
"Come on! I challenge all of you!" Ash yells.
The three sisters glance at each other. Their Seel is clapping in the background
"We don't feel much like battling anymore." Daisy says
"What do you mean?" Ash asks confused
"We just got beaten twice in a row by kids from this no where place called Pallet Town." Violet says
Ash slumps over
"Not again."
"We had to like rush all of our Pokemon to the Pokemon Centre." Lily says
"Wait but there's three of you? And you have an entire aquarium full of Pokemon. And there's literally a Seel right over there." Alex says
"Oh uh, look we just don't want to battle ok." Violet says
"My admiration of you is crumbling away."
"I know what you two want." Daisy says and heads over to a table nearby. She picks up two badges and heads over to them
"A Cascade Badge. You can have them." She says
"Uh thanks but I'd rather earn my badges." Ash says
Alex immediately takes one from Daisy
"Admiration back."
"Alex!" Ash stares at him horrified
"What? It's a gift. It would be rude to refuse." Alex says
"Yeah like listen to your cute friend." Lily says
Alex blushes
"I...don't know..." Ash says unsure
"Come on a badge is a badge." Daisy says
Ash glances at Alex who is admiring his badge, practically rubbing it into Ash's face that he has one and Ash does not. Ash sighs and moves to take the badge from Daisy
"Hold it right there!" A familiar voice shouts. They turn and see Misty standing at the entrance to the arena.
"Misty?" Ash says confused

Misty heads towards them. Alex glances at her then glances at the Sensational sisters. His eye widen
"Oh."
"Don't even think about taking that badge Ash!" Misty yells at him. She turns towards Daisy and the others
"If you won't battle them Daisy then I will."
"Huh? What are you talking about Misty? Why would you battle me?" Ash asks confused
"I'm a gym leader too."
Ash and Pikachu's eyes widen in shock
"I'm the fourth Sensational sister!"
"There are only three sensational sisters and one runt." Lily says
Misty growls at her. Ash glances at Alex who just shrugs
"So little sister it's a surprise to see you back so soon." Daisy says
"That little girl with a big mouth who said she wouldn't come back until she was a great Pokemon trainer, wasn't that you?" Violet asks mockingly.
Misty looks away embarrassed. "I guess I did say that..."
"So that's why Misty didn't want to come here." Ash whispers to Alex and Pikachu
"I can't blame her. Her sisters seem like bi-" Ash quickly covers Alex's mouth
"We're kid friendly remember."
"Misty you left here pretending you wanted to become a Pokemon trainer because you couldn't compare with us, because we are obviously more talented and beautiful than you are." Lily says smugly.
"Oh oh." Ash says. Misty looks like she might explode
"That wasn't the reason!" She practically screams
"Then I guess like you came back because you couldn't make it as a Pokemon trainer." Daisy says
"It wasn't my idea to come back here! The only reason I'm here is because he wanted to come." She points towards Ash who just smiles awkwardly
"Well he's totally not someone I'd choose as my boyfriend," Ash falls over in shock, "But you're no prize yourself."
Misty blushes heavily, "My boyfriend!"
Alex starts laughing...loudly. He falls onto his knees.
"Oh this is great! Hahahaha!"
Misty glares at him
"That's it! Ash you and me are battling for that Cascade badge right now!"
Ash gets back to his feet
"Alright."
Alex stops laughing
"Uh can I keep mine still?" He asks
"No!" Misty screams at him
"Fine...killjoy."
Ash and Misty are standing on opposite sides of the pool. A bunch of platforms are floating in the pool allowing non-water types to stand. Alex and the Sensational Sisters are watching from the side
"You know your gym design is very impractical. There is not enough space for Pokemon to use attacks that require them to move alot." Alex mentions
"Like who cares?" Violet asks
"No he actually has a point," Daisy says, "We don't want the Pokemon League to shut our gym down. We should look into improving the design."
"Fine but we don't get rid of the pool" Lily adds
"I wasn't planning on challenging you till you paid me back for my bike but this is as good a time as any!" Misty shouts across the pool to Ash
"That's fine by me! So how many Pokemon are we using!" Ash shouts back at Misty
"Two Pokemon each! And we'll use standard gym battle rules!"
"You got it!"
"Alright for my first Pokemon I call Staryu!" Misty yells and tosses her Pokeball. Staryu pops out in the water
Heah!
(I've never actually scanned Staryu before.) Ash realizes before pulling out his Pokedex
Staryu the Star Shape Pokemon. A Water type. Staryu's center section has an organ called the core that shines bright red. If you go to a beach toward the end of summer, the glowing cores of these Pokémon look like the stars in the sky. Staryu evolve into Starmie by use of a Water Stone. Staryu are Genderless
"Alright then I got the perfect Pokemon. Let's go Pikachu!" Ash yells and dramatically points ahead...only for Pikachu to not move

"What's the matter Pikachu?" Ash asks confused
"What's like going on over there?" Lily asks
"Ooh that's not good." Alex replies
Pikachu points at Misty and shakes his head
"You don't want to battle Misty?"
Pikachupi Pikachu
"But-"
"Thanks Pikachu! You're a real Pikapal!" Misty shouts from across the pool
Pikachu!
"Traitor." Ash says a little upset, "Fine Butterfree and Pidgeotto will atleast listen to me."
He tosses one of his pokeballs
"I choose Butterfree!"
Free Freee
Butterfree looks between Ash and Misty confused

"Yes we're fighting Misty." Ash replies
Free free
"I'm glad to see atleast one of you is reasonable."
Pika!
"Yes I'm talking about you!"
Chu!
Pikachu turns his back on Ash
"Hurry up and make a move already!" Misty yells at Ash
"Fine! Butterfree use Sleep Powder!"
Butterfree flies forward and starts spreading Sleep Powder. Staryu starts getting drowzy
"Quick Staryu dive under the water!"
Staryu dives down washing the Sleep Powder off
"Ha ha! I bet you didn't know that Sleep Powder won't work underwater!"
"Butterfree use Supersonic!"
"Huh?"
Butterfree fires some blue coloured sound waves directly at the water. The vibrations throw Staryu up
"Now Gust!"
Butterfree flaps it's wings sending strong wind directly at Staryu
"Staryu Rapid Spin!"
Staryu starts spinning which blows the winds back
"Now use Water Gun!"
Staryu fires Water Gun out of it's head hitting Butterfree and knocking it into the pool. Butterfree starts thrashing around as it can't swim
"Butterfree return! That was a mean trick Misty!" Ash yells at Misty
"I used the environment to my advantage which is completely legal in a Pokemon battle remember!" Misty yells back at him
"Wow Misty's actually like doing good." Violet says
"Well we did get all the goodlooks in the family. I guess she was bound to get some talent." Lily replies
"Go Pidgeotto!"
Pidgeo!
"You got lucky with Butterfree! But Pidgeotto won't fall for your tricks!"
"We'll see about that! Staryu use Water Gun again!"
Staryu fires Water Gun at Pidgeotto but the Bird flies out of the way
"Pidgeotto use Sand Attack!" Ash yells
Pidgeotto just looks confused
"Uh Ash there isn't any sand inside the gym." Misty says rather embarrassed
"Oh right."
Everyone falls over
"She really knows how to pick them." Daisy says
(Oh Ash.) Alex shakes his head
"Alright plan B. Use Twister!"
"Oh no Staryu get out of the water!" Misty yells
It's too late however. Pidgeotto has already started flapping it's wings quickly. A tornado forms in the middle of the pool sucking in a lot of water and Staryu a long with it. Alex quickly ducks behind Lily as water is sprayed all around the arena
"Aaaah my hair!" Lily yells angrily
"Relax your hair was wet from that same pool a few hours ago." Daisy replies
Staryu is sent flying out of the twister and slams into a wall hard. It falls onto the ground and the star on it's chest stops glowing
"Staryu! Return..."
"Nice work Pidgeotto!"
Pidgeo
"Alright I admit that was smart Ash! But I'm not out yet! I call Starmie!"
Hoo!
Ash scans Starmie
Starmie the Mysterious Pokemon. A Water/Psychic type. Starmie's center section—the core—glows brightly in seven colors. Because of its luminous nature, this Pokémon has been given the nickname "the gem of the sea." Starmie is the evolved form of Staryu. Starmies are Genderless
"Why do you own both a Staryu and Starmie?" Ash asks Misty
"None of your business!" Misty yells back at him
"Why does she own both?" Alex asks Daisy
"Two Staryu followed her home from the beach one day. You should have heard the way she screamed when she woke up and saw them watching her." Daisy laughs
"Starmie use Psybeam!" Misty yells
Starmie's gem flashes and it fires a beam of psychic energy straight at Pidgeotto
"Pidgeotto look out!"
But Pidgeotto isn't fast enough and is hit head on the Psybeam. It plummets into the water
"Now finish Pidgeotto off with Surf!"
Starmie starts surfing on the water towards Pidgeotto, a massive wave forms underneath it and crashes into Pidgeotto. The poor Pokemon is washed ashore and has fainted.
"Nice work Misty." Daisy says
"Pidgeotto return! You did great buddy. Alright Butterfree come back out!"

"Ok Starmie Butterfree is weakened from it's battle against Staryu! We can win this!"
"Don't even think about it! Butterfree and I are winning this!"
"No we are!"
"Not a chance!"
The two start screaming back and forth for awhile
"Are they always like this?" Violet asks
"Pretty much." Alex replies
"Starmie use Psybeam!"
"Butterfree look out!"
Butterfree manages to dodge the Psybeam
"Now use Bug Bite!"
Misty's eyes widen "Oh no Starmie is weak to bug types!"
Butterfree's teeth start glowing and it dives towards Starmie
"Starmie quick dive under the water!"
Starmie dives under the water avoiding Butterfree's attack
"Ugh!" Ash yells out frustrated
"Now Starmie use Swift!"
"Butterfree look out!"
Starmie fires a bunch of star shaped energy out from the water. Butterfree dodges it...only for the stars to spin around and hit him from behind
Freee!
"What happened!" Ash yells out confused
"Didn't you know? Swift never misses!" Misty yells out
"Well I mean there are some cases where it misses." Alex adds in
Ash scratches his chin
"One Bug Bite should be enough to put that Starmie away, but as long as it can keep diving under the water we're not gonna be able to get it."
"Just accept defeat Ash! You're not gonna beat Starmie and I!"
"No way! We'll win just you watch!"
"Whatever. Starmie use Psybeam again!"
Starmie bursts out of the water and fires Psybeam at Butterfree
"Butterfree dodge and use String Shot!"
Butterfree dodges the attack and fires string from out of it's mouth. The string hits Starmie and then hits the platform forcefully dragging Starmie onto it
"Starmie quick get out of there!"
"Butterfree Bug Bite now!"
Starmie starts spinning to break the string off. However Butterfree slams into it and bites it
Hoo!
"Starmie no!"
Starmie stops struggling and falls backwards into the pool. It floats in the water, the gem on it's body flashing before it stops glowing
"I lost..." Misty says in disbelief
"Yeah!" Ash shouts out excited, "We won Butterfree!"
"Wow he actually beat Misty. I admit I didn't think he stood a chance." Daisy says
Alex smiles
"Never underestimate Ash."
Ash,Pikachu and Misty join up with the others. Misty has the Cascade badge in her hand
"Here Ash." She hands it to him and then starts walking away
"Misty? What's up with her?" Ash asks confused
The wall to the gym is suddenly smashed through. A vehicle with a giant vacuum and hose attached to the top of it drives into the gym.
"What's that?" Violet asks confused
Jessie: Prepare for trouble!
James: Make it double!
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
James: To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie exits from the top of the vehicle
Jessie: Jessie!
James exits from the top of the vehicle
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight!
Meowth exits from the top of the vehicle
Meowth: Meowth! That's right!
"Not you three again!" Misty yells at them
"Like who are they?" Violet asks confused
"And has anyone told that woman that her hairstyle is totally awful." Lily adds
"Did she just insult my hair!" Jessie shouts angrily
"Yep." Meowth says
"That's it! Activate the machine!"
Meowth pulls a switch and the vacuum turns on. The giant hose starts sucking all the water in the pool
"Our pool!" Daisy shouts
Meowth starts laughing
"With the water from the pool gone your Water Pokemon won't be able to battle! Then we'll be able to steal them!"
"That's right!" Jessie and James shout
"We need to stop them! Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu prepares to fire Thunderbolt
"Koffing use Sludge!" James yells out. Koffing pops out of it's pokeball and fires Sludge hitting Pikachu in the eyes
Pika!
Pikachu falls into the pool and gets sucked in by the hose
"Pikachu no!"
Seel gets sucked in next
"Seel!" Daisy yells
"What are we gonna do?"
Ash grabs Sandshrew's pokeball
"I choose you Sandshrew!"
Sandshrew!
Jessie and James hop off of the vehicle
"Ekans go!"
Ekansss
Ekans and Koffing prepare to battle Sandshrew. Suddenly the hose turns off
"Huh?" Jessie says confused
"What happened?" James asks confused
The hose then starts pushing everything back out. Seel flies past
Seel!
"Meowth what are you doing!" Jessie yells as her and James turn towards him...only to see Meowth has been knocked out. Alex is the one operating the vacuum
"Hi"
"That's not good." James says
Pikachu is sent flying out of the hose
Pika!
Ash catches him
"I got you Pikachu!"
Pikapi!
"Now use Thunderbolt!"
Pikachuuuu!
Pikachu fires the Thunderbolt. Alex hops away from the vacuum and Pikachu's attack strikes
"Aaaaaah!" Jessie and James scream. The vacuum explodes sending Team Rocket blasting away
"Not again!" Jessie yells
Meowth groans and wakes up
"What happened?" Meowth asks
"Take a guess." James replies
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
"So you've got a giant wall in your gym now. Neat huh?" Alex says
"Uh yeah 'neat.'" Daisy rolls her eyes, "I guess you and Misty are postponing your match until tomorrow."
"I need to visit the Pokemon Centre." Misty says and heads off
"Misty wait!" Ash heads after her leaving Pikachu behind
Pikapi?
Brock arrives at the gym. Misty exits the gym
"Oh hey Misty." Brock says. Misty runs past him
"What was that-oh hey Ash." Brock says as Ash exits the gym, and runs right past him
"Am I just invisible or something?" Brock asks confused. He turns and sees Alex standing at the entrance holding Pikachu. "Hey guys."
"Where did that voice come from?" Alex and Pikachu look around confused
"I am invisible!" Brock yells devastated
"I'm just messing with ya Brock."
"Oh. What's up with those two?" Brock asks
"Long story. I'll explain on the way."
Misty hands her Pokemon to Nurse Joy
"Your Pokemon will be healed up soon." Nurse Joy heads to the back. Ash enters the Pokemon Centre
"Misty..."
"I don't want to talk to you Ash." Misty replies. She tries to walk past him but he grabs her wrist
"What's wrong?" He asks
"What's wrong! You beat me." She says angrily
"Are you really that upset that I won our match?" Ash asks
"I...no...I'm not mad at you," She half smiles, "For a change."
"So why are you upset?" Ash asks concerned
"My sisters. I've always been treated as second best compared to them. They're considered prettier than me, they're considered more talented than me, and they're considered better Pokemon trainers than me..."
"So you feel inferior to them." Ash says. Misty nods
"I left home to prove to them that I could become a Water Pokemon master, I swore I wouldn't come back until I had succeeded..."
"But then I brought us here." Ash says guiltily
"It's not your fault. I didn't have to follow me."
"I mean it's partly my fault. I did fry your bike afterall." Ash smiles goofily
"That's true," Misty sighs, "I was hoping that if I beat you in a battle it would prove to them that I was a good Pokemon trainer, but then I lost. I beat they're making fun of me right now."
"Misty I'm sure they're not making fun of you."
"You don't know my sisters." Misty replies
"No, but I know they love you. And you didn't hear some of the comments they were making during our battle."
"What did they say?" Misty asks
"They were rooting for you...most of the time." Ash admits, "The other time they were obsessing over their hair."
Misty laughs
"That does sound like them. You know what Ash, you actually managed to cheer me up. Thank you."
"We're friends Misty, there's no need to thank me."
The two smile at each other...then Misty notices Ash is still clutching her wrist. They're quite close to each other
"Uh Ash you can let go now."
Ash quickly pulls his hand back. They're both blushing
"Right sorry."
Alex, Brock and Pikachu enter the Pokemon Centre. Misty and Ash quickly step away from each other
"So is there peace in the kingdom again?" Alex asks
"Yeah we're good." Misty replies
"Thank Mew Arceus or whoever."
"Arceus? Who's that?" Ash asks confused
"Sinnoh Creation deity, didn't you pay attention during Professor Oak's lessons on Legendary Pokemon?" Alex asks
"No I uh...was busy daydreaming about winning the Indigo League." Ash admits
"Oh Ash."
The Pokegang arrive at the Cerulean Gym the next morning.
"So you ready for this Alex?" Misty asks
"Definitely."
They enter the gym. Misty's sisters are waiting in the lobby. Brock's eyes widen and he suddenly runs towards them. He drops to one knee
"You three are such sensational beauties that I have no choice but to declare my undying love for you!" Brock yells dramatically. Everyone just stares at him
"Uh like who is this weirdo?" Lily asks
Brock falls backwards clutching his heart as if he was shot
"The pain!"
He lays on the ground in a fetal position
"You owe us for this Misty. We put the construction off until after your gym match." Daisy says
"I know I know thank you,let's go Alex."
They all head towards the pool leaving Brock alone
Alex and Misty are standing on their respective platforms. Ash, Pikachu, Brock and the Sensational sisters are on the sidelines
"This will be a two-on-two Pokemon battle!" Misty yells
"Got it." Alex replies
"For my first Pokemon I choose Staryu!"
Heah!
Alex grabs his pokeball
"Then I choose Paras!" Alex tosses his pokeball
Paras!
"A grass type. This is gonna be tough for Misty." Brock says
"When did he catch a Paras?" Ash asks confused
"At Mt. Moon."
"I'm not scared of your Paras Alex! Staryu use Swift!" Misty yells
Some star shaped energy fires from Staryu's gem and hits Paras head on
Paras!
"Paras retaliate with Stun Spore!"
Paras starts releasing orange powder from it's mushrooms
"Staryu dive into the Water!"
Staryu dives into the water and avoids the Stun Spore
"Hmm we're gonna have to deal with that." Alex says softly
"Staryu Swift again!"
The stars fly out of the water and hit Paras
"I don't think Paras can take much more of this." Ash says
"Paras dive into the water!" Alex yells
"Wait what?" Misty says confused
Paras dives underwater and starts swimming towards Staryu
"Use Scratch!" Alex yells
Paras scratches Staryu
"Staryu use Rapid Spin!" Misty yells
Staryu starts spinning quickly and slams into Paras. It bursts from the water and knocks Paras back onto the platform
Pa...ras
Paras gets back to it's feet weakly. Staryu lands on one of the platforms
He...
Staryu suddenly hunches over. It struggles to move
"Staryu what's wrong!" Misty shouts confused
He..ah...
"I don't get it. What's happening to Staryu?" Ash asks confused
Alex smirks and pulls out his Pokedex
"Misty! Listen to this!"
Effect Spore. Contact with a Pokémon with this ability may inflict poison, sleep, or paralysis on the attacker.
"Oh no!" Misty yells out
"Paras use Absorb!"
A green orb surrounds Paras before being fired towards Staryu. It surrounds Staryu and absorbs some of it's energy before returning it to Paras. Staryu falls to the ground while Paras stands up stronger than ever
"Staryu get up!" Misty yells
"Finish it Paras! Use Bullet Seed!"
Paras spits a bunch of yellow glowing seeds out of it's mouth. They pummel Staryu causing the Pokemon to faint
"Staryu return!"
Misty grabs her next pokeball
"Go Goldeen!"
Goldeen pops out in the water
Goldeen Goldeen
"I didn't know Misty had a Goldeen." Ash says surprised
"Oh yeah Goldeen is one of her most used Pokemon." Daisy says
Alex pulls out his Pokedex and scans Goldeen
Goldeen the Goldfish Pokemon. A Water type. Goldeen is a very beautiful Pokémon with fins that billow elegantly in water. However, don't let your guard down around this Pokémon—it could ram you powerfully with its horn. Goldeen evolves into Seaking. This Goldeen is female
"Paras becareful alright. If Goldeen hits you with a Poison Jab it's all over!"
Paras!
"Goldeen has more attacks than just Poison Jab! Goldeen use Peck!"
Goldeen leaps out of the water, it's horn glowing white, and starts pecking Paras with it
Paras! Paras!
Paras takes lots of damage from that and Goldeen falls back into the water
"Paras no!" Alex yells
Paras falls onto the ground
Pa...ras...
Paras faints
"Woah Misty's Goldeen took Paras out in one hit." Ash says shocked
"Well to be fair Paras had taken a lot of damage from it's battle with Staryu and Peck being a flying type move was super effective against it, it's still impressive though." Brock says
"Paras return! You did great."
"Well Alex, send out your last Pokemon and let's finish this!" Misty shouts
Alex picks his pokeball
(If I get Goldeen out of the water then it won't be able to put up a fight.)
"Alright you asked for this Misty. Go Hypno!"
Hypno!
Goldeen stares at the Hypno who starts swaying it's pendulum back and forth with an evil grin on it's face

Goldeen's eyes widen and it dives back underwater
"Don't be scared Goldeen! It's just another Pokemon for us to beat!" Misty yells at Goldeen

"Ok it's starting to creep me out a bit too..." Misty says softly
"Hypno use Psybeam!" Alex yells
Hypno's eyes glow pink, it's pendant starts glowing as well and a pink energy beam fires out from the pendulum straight towards Goldeen
"Goldeen swim out of the way!"
Goldeen swims away dodging the Psybeam which hits the bottom of the pool
"Now use Water Pulse!"
A blue ball of energy forms infront of Goldeen's horn before firing towards Hypno. The ball extends into a bunch of rings of water that are pulsing. All the rings strike Hypno
Hypno!
Hypno falls to it's knee
"That's our chance! Goldeen use Horn Attack!"
Goldeen leaps out of the pool straight towards Hypno
"Hypno use Hypnosis!"
Hypno suddenly turns towards Goldeen completely fine and starts swinging it's pendulum
"Oh no it was a trick!" Misty yells
Goldeen stares at the pendulum transfixed

Goldeen's eyes close and it falls into the water
"Goldeen no!"
"Yes! Hypno use Psybeam!" Alex yells
Hypno fires another Psybeam towards Goldeen
"Goldeen please wake up!" Misty yells desperately
Goldeen's eyes suddenly open and it dives under the water dodging the Psybeam
"You can't be serious!" Alex shouts frustrated
"Yes!" Misty shouts
"That was close." Daisy says
"We can still win this Goldeen." Misty says
Alex pinches his nose
"I didn't want to do this Misty, but you've left me no choice. Hypno use Psychic!" Alex shouts
Hypno is suddenly surrounded by a pink aura. It's eyes start glowing
Goldeeen!
"Goldeen what's wrong!" Misty says worried
"Hypno lift Goldeen out of the water." Alex says
Goldeen is pulled out of the water and left dangling in the air. The same pink aura surrounding Hypno is surrounding it as well. Misty grits her teeth
"What's going on? What is Alex doing?" Ash asks confused
"Psychic. It's a powerful attack Psychic Pokemon have which allows them to control anything using their Psychic powers, including other Pokemon." Brock says, "However it usually tends to take a lot of energy out of the Pokemon to use it, nevermind keep it up."
Hypno...
"Hypno slam Goldeen against the platform."
"No!" Misty yells
Goldeen is raised into the air...and then brought down hard onto the platform
Goldeen!
Hypno releases control and Goldeen is left flopping uselessly on the platform
"Goldeen try and get back into the water!" Misty yells
Goldeen tries to move but is too injured
Goldeen...Goldeen...
"It's over Misty! Goldeen can't get back into the water and it can't attack on land! So you only have two options! You can watch as Hypno gets it's energy back and then finishes your Goldeen! Or you can surrender!" Alex shouts at her. Misty looks conflicted
"Is that really true Brock? Can Misty really not do anything?" Ash asks
"I'm afraid so Ash. Goldeen can't muster up the strength to move or use any attacks."
Misty raises her pokeball
"Goldeen return."
"It was a good match." Brock says, "But Alex's Hypno is more experienced than any of our Pokemon besides my Onix. It would likely have required alot of damage to take it down."
"Nice work Hypno." Alex says. Hypno smirks at him and Alex returns it. He heads over to Misty
"Is Goldeen alright? I may have gone a bit overboard." He says concerned
"No Goldeen's fine. She's taken worse attacks before." Misty says
Misty pulls out the Cascade Badge and offers it to Alex
"Congratulations Alex. You've earned this."
Alex takes the badge
"Thank you Misty."
"Oh ofcourse she's polite when he wins." Ash mutters angrily
Pikapi?
"What? No I'm not jealous." Ash says
The Pokegang are saying goodbye to Misty's sisters
"Misty you like go and accomplish your dreams. You may as well be good at something because you'll never be stars like us." Lily says
"If you carry on like that you'll be seeing stars!" Misty yells
"Ah Misty you know we love you." Daisy says
"I know."
She turns around and follows Ash, Alex, Brock and Pikachu
"So where are we heading next?" Misty asks
"Well you said you wanted to go to Vermillion City so that's as good a place as any." Ash says
"First Pokemon Centre though." Alex adds
"I know I know." Ash says

Me: Sssh I'm talking! It's weird how Ash's Butterfree has essentially become the star player of his team. Like he was a pretty big help for the battle against Brock and then he went and won Ash's battle against Misty. It was completely unplanned but it just kinda works. I feel a bit bad for Pidgeotto though since Butterfree stole it's thunder this time around, but hopefully once we get to Erika it'll have it's chance to shine. That's all I really have to say
