Me: Hi. Sorry for the longer than usual gap between updates. I've been a bit busy with assignments and stuff but I've got the next few weeks free so hopefully I'll be able to update more frequently. Alright onwards
Ash: The Mistress of Psychic Pokemon
The group have arrived in Saffron City. They are currently in the Pokemon Centre healing up their Pokemon.
"I'm so excited! Today I'm gonna get my fourth gym badge!" Ash yells
"Ash keep it down." Misty tells him embarrrassed
"Sorry..."
"Did I hear you correctly?" An older man approaches them, "You're here for a gym battle?"
"Yeah." Ash replies causing the old man to snigger, "What are you laughing at?"
"That you actually think you could beat Sabrina." The old man replies
"Sabrina? Is that the gym leader?" Alex asks
"Yes. A few years ago Saffron's previous gym leader Kiyo put his title on the line against Sabrina. He was absolutely demolished and Sabrina has been the gym leader of Saffron eversince." The old man says
"I've heard of Kiyo. He's one of the greatest Fighting type Pokemon masters ever." Brock says
"Yes Kiyo was a fantastic gym leader, but his Fighting types were no match for Sabrina's Psychic Pokemon." The old man replies
"Psychic Pokemon!" Misty says alarmed
"Sabrina is unstoppable. She has not lost a single match. Take my advice kid and leave this city. Go challenge one of the weaker gyms because you won't win here." The old man says before walking away
Ash is seething, "I'll show him."
The group is heading towards Saffron City
"I think you should think this over Ash." Misty tells him worried, "You don't have any Pokemon to counter Psychic types."
"Type advantages aren't everything. I'll win because I believe in my Pokemon, right Pikachu?"
Pikachu!
"I'm not so sure Ash. From what I've heard Sabrina is really tough, even tougher than Lt. Surge and you only just beat him." Brock says
"I've gotten stronger since then!"
"I'm sure we can handle her." Alex butts in
"Yeah! We're gonna win Alex!"
They arrive at the gym which is quite big. Ash takes a deep breath
"Let's do this."
They enter the gym only to come upon a bunch of people dressed in white robes training with Psychic Pokemon.
"What's going on? I thought this was the gym?" Ash asks confused
A young man who is wearing a surgical mask approaches them ,"Greetings. Are you new students?"
"'New students?'" Alex asks confused
"You are here to train your Psychic powers are you not?" The man asks
"What are you talking about?" Alex asks confused
"We came to challenge Sabrina the Gym leader." Ash says
"Ah you must be new to Saffron. Mistress Sabrina converted part of her gym to a school in order to teach those with latent psychic abilities how to master their powers." The Psychic says, "I am Psychic Jared, one of Sabrina's first disciples. Please follow me and I lead you to the mistress."
They follow Jared through the gym. There are psychics all around them training
"So what are they doing?" Misty asks
"They are trying to learn to focus their uncontrolled psychic energy." Jared replies
"So what happens if they do that?" Brock asks
"It will allow them to use Psychic power as if they were Psychic type Pokemon." Jared replies
"That's cool." Misty says
"More like freaky." Alex replies
"And Sabrina she's one of these Psychics?" Brock asks
"Yes. Mistress Sabrina's psychic abilities are far beyond those of most humans, in fact she is stronger than many Pokemon as well." Jared replies
"She still won't be able to beat me." Ash says
Pika
Jared stops. He takes out a spoon and holds it in front of him, "Observe."
He concentrates on the spoon. He starts shaking and sweating. Pink energy surrounds the spoon causing it to bend slightly. Jared takes a few breaths, "That is the power of a Psychic."
Ash takes the spoon from Jared, "That's cool and all but I've got my own secret method of bending spoons."
Ash bends the spoon in half and then starts laughing mockingly, "Hahaha muscle over mind!"
Everyone else just stares at him embarrassed
Jared leads them to the battlefield. At the opposite side of the room Sabrina is sitting in a chair. She is busy floating a few pokeballs around her, clearly bored. Jared kneels
"Mistress Sabrina I have brought a young boy who wishes to challenge you."
"Thank you Jared. You may leave." Sabrina replies. Jared gets up and walks away. Sabrina continues to play with the pokeballs
"Uh what now?" Ash asks confused
"Step into your corner." Sabrina tells him
"Um alright. Let's go Pikachu." Ash and Pikachu wander over to their corner. "I'm Ash Ketchum from-"
"From Pallet Town." Sabrina finishes causing everyone's eyes to widen. Sabrina drops her pokeballs and looks over at Ash, "I have foreseen this battle already."
"You wha...how?" Ash stammers confused. Sabrina floats off the chair and over to her corner of the battlefield
"I have been training my psychic powers since I was only a child. I have many abilities such as telekinesis, telepathy and precognition." Sabrina replies
"Prego...what does food have to do with this?" Ash asks confused causing his friends to groan
"He really is hopeless." Misty says
"You're amusing." Sabrina says emotionlessly, "Precognition is the ability to see the future. I dreamed about our encounter months ago. I already know how this battle will proceed."
"Oh yeah! Well then prepare to lose to me twice! I choose Pikachu!" Ash yells
Pikachu hops onto the battlefield.
"Ash what are you doing?" Brock asks, "The gym leader's supposed to choose first."
"What does it matter? If she already knows what's gonna happen then she knows which Pokemon I was using!" Ash shouts at him
A pokeball floats over towards Sabrina, I choose Kadabra"
The pokeball shoots onto the battlefield and opens releasing the Kadabra
Kadabra!
Ash takes out his pokedex and scans it
Kadabra the Psi Pokemon. A Psychic type. Kadabra holds a silver spoon in its hand. The spoon is used to amplify the alpha waves in its brain. Without the spoon, the Pokémon is said to be limited to half the usual amount of its telekinetic powers. Kadabra is the evolved form of Abra and evolves into Alakazam. This Kadabra is Male
"This will be a three-on-three Pokemon battle." Sabrina announces, "You may make the first move."
"Alright Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash yells
Pikachuuuuuuu!
The Thunderbolt races towards Kadabra. Kadabra's eyes start glowing just before the Thunderbolt makes contact and it teleports out of the way. The Thunderbolt hits into the ground and dissipates harmlessly
"It's gone!" Ash looks around confused, "Where could it be?"
Kadabra reappears behind Pikachu
"Pikachu look out!" Ash yells
Kadabra fires a Psybeam hitting Pikachu from behind
Chuuuu!
Pikachu is sent flying halfway across the battlefield and slams into the ground hard
Chu...
Pikachu faints
"Pikachu!" Ash yells
"Ahhhh!" Everyone else yells out shocked
Pikachu is gently lifted off the ground by Sabrina and floated into Ash's arms
"Are you ok Pikachu?" Ash asks concerned
Pi...
Ash lays him down next to him and grabs his next pokeball, "Alright I choose Squirtle!"
Squirtle!
"You can do it Squirtle!" Misty shouts in support
Brock and Alex are keeping watch on Sabrina. Her eyes briefly flash a pink colour
"Squirtle be careful of Kadabra, it's much quicker than it looks." Ash tells Squirtle who nods in understanding, "Alright use Water Gun!"
Squirtle fires a powerful stream of water towards Kadabra who suddenly stops it in midair
"Oh come on!" Ash yells out in frustration
Sabrina tilts her head causing Kadabra to do the same thing. The Water is fired back hitting Squirtle head on. Squirtle is blown back by the force of the attack but is otherwise fine
"I don't understand...how are you and Kadabra battling so well?" Ash asks confused, "You're not even commanding it!"
"She is commanding it." Brock says in realization, "They're speaking telepathically."
"What? But how are you supposed to win against that?" Misty asks
"You don't. Sabrina's never lost." Alex says worried
"Squirtle use Tackle!" Ash yells
Squirtle rushes towards Kadabra, he leaps through the air for extra force. Kadabra suddenly stops him in midair
"Squirtle try to break free!" Ash yells out worried
Squirtle clenches his eyes and mouth and tries to will himself to move
Squirtle! Squirtle!
Kadabra raises Squirtle further into the air...and then slams him into the ground
"Squirtle!"
Squirtle has fainted
"Oh no." Misty says worried
"Ash only has one Pokemon left. Meanwhile Sabrina still has all three." Brock says
"Return Squirtle!" Ash stares at Kadabra. He fiddles with his pokeballs
(What am I gonna do?) He grabs a pokeball, "You're my last hope. Go Charmander!"
Char Charmander Char!
His friends are watching with concerned expressions on their faces
"Charmander this is gonna be a tough battle but I believe in you!" Ash shouts to Charmander
Charmander!
"Alright use Smokescreen!" Ash yells
Charmander breathes smoke out filling the entire battlefield and preventing both trainers form seeing. Sabrina shakes her head
"That was a foolish move Ash." She tells him
"How come?" Ash asks confused
They hear Charmander cry out in pain
"Charmander? Charmander what's happening!" Ash shouts out
Charmander! Char!
Charmander is suddenly sent flying out of the smoke and into Ash's arms. He has fainted
"Charmander no!"
The smoke clears revealing Kadabra floating in the middle of the battlefield
Kadabra
Ash falls to his knees, "I can't believe it..."
"He lost..." Misty says softly
"He lost bad..." Brock says softly
Alex looks at Ash concerned
"Return Charmander..." Ash says despondently
"I will be happy to battle you again sometime. Once you have become stronger." Sabrina says
Ash, Alex, Misty, Brock and Pikachu are suddenly surrounded by psychic energy
"What's happening!"
They're teleported away. The old man from the Pokemon Centre is revealed to have been watching the whole battle
Ash has checked his Pokemon in with Nurse Joy. He is now sitting on the couch just staring at the ground
"Cheer up Ash. It's not the end of the world." Misty tells him
Ash doesn't respond
"Don't take it too hard Ash. You're not the first person to lose to Sabrina." Alex tries to comfort him
"I should have won." Ash replies angrily, "I believed in my Pokemon and I still lost!"
"Ash it takes more than believing in your Pokemon to win a battle." Brock tells him gently, "Sabrina's a gym leader for a reason. She was obviously going to be tough."
Ash slumps down, "It's not fair..."
"With Sabrina's Psychic powers she's unbeatable." Misty says
The old man approaches them, "I told you. You'd be better off challenging another gym. Celadon City isn't too far from here."
"No." Ash suddenly stands up determined, "There has to be a way to beat Sabrina. Maybe if I learn how to use Psychic powers or-"
"You cannot learn how to use Psychic powers." The old man interrupts, "You have to be born with the gift."
"Oh yeah! Who made you an expert!" Ash yells at him. The old man's eyes suddenly glow pink and Ash is surrounded by pink energy, "Huh?"
Ash's pants suddenly fall down and he starts dancing. Misty shrieks and covers her eyes while Alex bursts out laughing
"Ash what are you doing!" Brock yells at him
"It's not me!" Ash yells
The old man stops and Ash pulls his pants back up
"And I am not nearly as strong as Sabrina." The old man tells them
"So you have Psychic powers too." Alex says
"Please you have to help me!" Ash gets down on his knees and begs the old man, "I need to defeat Sabrina!"
The old man stares at him. He sighs, "You're one determined kid. Alright I'll help you."
"You will?" Ash asks surprised. He gets back to his feet
"Sabrina's biggest strength is the fact that her and her Pokémon's mind are linked telepathically. It means she does not have to take the time to think out instructions and communicate to them. They know exactly what each other are thinking and can act immediately." The old man explains
"So how do you beat that?" Misty asks
"There is a downside. Sabrina feels any pain her Pokemon feel. If you're able to hurt her Pokemon then it will distract her. That is when you strike."
"But I wasn't able to get a single hit in." Ash says
"I know. But next time you'll be prepared. You're going to have to improvise and think on the fly. You cannot give Sabrina an inch or else she will exploit it."
Ash nods in understanding
"One other thing. Even though type advantages don't mean everything, they are still handy to have. I noticed you didn't use a single Pokemon with an advantage over Psychic types." The old man says
"No I don't have one. I used to own a Butterfree but I let him go." Ash says sadly
"Lavender Town is to the east of here. If you travel along Route 8 you'll get there in no time. The Pokemon Tower is full of Ghost type Pokemon. If you catch one of those it will give you an advantage against Sabrina." The old man tells them
"Thank you sir." Ash says
"Good luck kid. You're gonna need it." The old man leaves them
"Alright then. It's off to Lavender Town." Ash says determined
The Pokegang have been travelling along Route 8 to get to Lavender Town. Other than a couple trainer battles they have encountered no problems until now
"The fog's rolling in." Alex says as they are developed by a dense fog
"Maybe it's an omen." Misty says worried, "Maybe we should forget about finding a Ghost Pokemon."
"We've come too far." Ash says
"Everyone hold hands so we don't get separated." Brock tells them
Ash and Misty grab each other's hands while Alex grabs Brock. Brock tries to grab either Ash or Misty's hand but can't find them
"Ash where are you?" Brock asks
"I'm over here." He hears Ash's voice. Brock squints and notices something that vaguely looks like an arm ahead of him
"Oh there you are." He reaches forward and yanks on...Pikachu's tail
Chuuuu!
Pikachu uses Thunderbolt electrocuting Brock and Alex
"Aaaaah!"
Misty screams and hugs Ash's back terrified. Brock and Alex collapse. Pikachu looks at them confused
Pi?
"Brock don't you know how scared it makes me when you yell like that." Misty tells him upset
"Well Misty you sure scared me." Ash suddenly says in a deep voice. He then starts laughing evilly. Everyone steps away from him confused and terrified
"I'm feeling like a ghost myself." Ash spins around revealing that he's wearing a skeleton mask
"Aaaaaah!" Everyone screams
Pikaaaaa!
Ash starts laughing normally, "I'm just kidding." He takes the mask off, "If we're gonna try and catch a Ghost Pokemon then we have to learn to deal with fear. That's the only way we'll become great Pokemon Trainers."
He notices his friends don't look particularly happy, "Uh guys?"
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!" Alex screams at him
"YOU MUST BE CRAZY!" Misty screams at him
"DON'T EVER DO THAT!" Brock screams at him
PIKACHUUUUUUU!
And Pikachu shocks him
"Aaaaaah!" Ash collapses
"We've got enough things to scare us without your boneheaded jokes." Misty says angrily
"Ha bone cause..." Alex notices Misty glaring at him, "Not the time right."
Ash groans in pain, "I'll just save the masks till Halloween."
Misty, Brock and Pikachu carry on ahead. Alex helps Ash up, "I admit it was a little funny."
The group arrive at the entrance to Lavender Town. The sun is starting to set
"We've made it." Ash says
"That must be the Pokemon Tower." Alex points at a giant tower a good distance away from the rest of the town
"Let's check into the Pokemon Centre quickly before we head there." Ash says
Ash, Pikachu and Alex head on. Misty and Brock don't look particularly eager to follow
While they are waiting for Nurse Joy to heal their Pokemon the gang are looking around the Pokemon Centre
"Hey guys check this out." Alex says. He points to a flyer on the wall, "'Elemental League Ghost type Tournament.'"
"When is it?" Ash asks excitedly
"About four days from now." Alex reads off the poster
"So I gotta catch a Ghost type, head back to Saffron, beat Sabrina, and then make it back here in four days. Easy." Ash says determined
"None of that sounds easy Ash." Misty says
The group are standing outside The Pokemon Tower. It's now nighttime
"Why couldn't this wait until the morning?" Brock asks terrified
"I'm on a time limit Brock." Ash says, "The sooner I get my Ghost Pokemon the better."
"But this place is terrifying!" Misty exclaims fearfully
"Hey the way the windows are designed up there makes it look like a face." Alex says amused
"That's not helping!" Brock and Misty scream at him
"Guys don't be scared. We can handle this right Pikachu?" Ash looks down and notices Pikachu has set up a small sleeping bag and is taking a nap
"Pikachu...alright this can wait until the morning." Ash pulls out his sleeping bag, "Goodnight guys."
Everyone stares at him unamused. Alex offers Misty his baseball bat
Ash and Pikachu are rubbing their heads, "You could have been gentler you know."
Team Rocket are spying on them from one of the top floors of the tower
"I told you they were coming here." Meowth says
"You were right. This is the perfect place to lay a trap." Jessie says
"Alright let's get started." James says
He tries to run across the room but the floor suddenly gives in underneath him
"Ahh!"
"James!" Jessie and Meowth rush over to the hole in the floor. James has fallen down a few good floors and is now sprayed along the ground
"James are you alright?" Jessie asks. James twitches in answer, "These old floors are so dangerous."
Meowth hears a door opening. He glances around confused and notices some eyes and a mouth staring at him from the darkness. Some gas materialises around them revealing a Gastly who yawns
"Ahhhhhhh!" Meowth screams. Jessie glances at him confused
"Meowth where are your manners? It's impolite to leave your mouth hanging open like that."
"Look behind you." Meowth points ahead and looks away terrified
"Behind me?" Jessie glances behind her but Gastly has disappeared, "There's nothing there."
She looks back towards Meowth, "You must be seeing things."
"But it was there..." Meowth says confused
Gastly suddenly surrounds Jessie's head. However she doesn't seem to notice it. Meowth screams
"Don't tell me you're seeing things again." Jessie says while Gastly mouths along
"Get away!" Meowth slashes at Gastly. The attack goes right through it and scratches Jessie's face.
"Ahhh!" Jessie screams in pain. Gastly disappears and Meowth stares at her shocked
"My face! You numbskull you ruined my beautiful face!" Jessie kicks Meowth into the hole
"Ahhhh!" Meowth slams on James, "It was an accident..."
Jessie pulls out a hand mirror and examines the damage to her face, "A tragedy. Perfection has been ruined."
Gastly suddenly appears in the mirror
"Ahhhh!" Jessie falls down the hole and slams onto James and Meowth. The two moan in pain
"You're right...this place is dangerous." James groans
"Thanks for breaking my fall." Jessie tells them
And then the floor breaks
The Pokegang hear the Team Rocket trio scream
"It sounds horrible!" Misty says terrified
Everyone is trembling
"Al...alright guys. Come on. We came for a Ghost Pokemon so we have to go inside." Ash stammers
"Yeah...you go first." Alex shoves Ash forward
The five of them head inside the tower. It's almost pitch black
"I can't see anything." Alex complains
"I know. Go Charmander!" Ash tosses his pokeball and Charmander pops out. It's tail flame creates some light
"That's a good idea. Charmander go!" Alex tosses his pokeball and his Charmander pops out. The room is lit enough now so they can atleast see what's going on. It looks like a living room
"Did someone used to live here?" Misty asks confused
"Why would anyone design their house to look like this?" Brock asks
"Maybe they liked horror movies." Alex suggests
"This is a horror movie." Misty replies
The seven of them start heading through the first floor of the tower
"Watch where you walk." Brock says, "These old floors aren't the most stable."
They suddenly hear laughter echoing throughout the room
"What was that?" Misty asks terrified
"Do you think it's the Ghost Pokemon?" Alex asks terrified
"Hello. Ghost Pokemon. Come out!" Ash yells
They hear even louder laughter
"I think they're mocking you." Alex shivers, "We're gonna die here."
They head through some double doors. This room is even darker than the previous ones
"I can't see anything." Ash complains
The lights suddenly turn on spooking everyone
"Uh whoever turned on the lights thanks." Ash trembles
They notice they're in a dining room. There's a string hanging from a ball on the ceiling with a note attached to it
"Hey check this out." Alex gets closer to the note and reads it, "'Pull This'"
"Ok." Ash immediately pulls the string
"Ash!" Everyone yells at him
The ball opens causing party streamers and confetti to rain down. Another note pops out that says 'Welcome'
"I guess it's a party." Ash says confused
Everything in the room suddenly starts floating
"It's the ghosts!" Brocks yells out terrified
A floating chair suddenly knocks into him and carries him into the air, "Help me!"
Pikachu,Alex and both Charmanders are scooped up as well
"Ahhh!"
Pikaaaa!
Char!
Misty and Ash scream and dash out of the room
"Jump!" Alex yells and the four of them jump off the chairs and dash out the room. The seven of them scream and rush out of the Tower. They stop and take some deep breaths
"I am not going back in there." Misty pants
"Yeah no way." Alex agrees
"We have to go back! I can't beat Sabrina without capturing a Ghost Pokemon." Ash says
"Ash maybe we should just give up on Sabrina." Brock pants
"No way. I don't give up." Ash says
"Since when?" Alex asks
"Since always! If you guys want to stay out here then fine but I'm going back in! Let's go Pikachu and Charmander!" Ash turns to head back inside but then notices his Pokemon aren't following, "Not you guys too!"
Pika!
Char!
They both shake their heads
"Come on guys! Don't you remember just how badly Sabrina beat you?"
Both their eyes widen
"You don't want that to happen again right?" Ash asks
They both shake their heads
"Then we need to do this. Let's go!"
He turns and marches inside. Pikachu and Charmander follow him
The three of them have been searching through the first floor of the tower when they come upon a hole in the floor
"Careful guys. Who knows where this leads."
They hear a groaning noise
"What was that?" Ash looks around. He hears more groaning and looks down at the hole, "It's coming from down there. It must be the Ghost Pokemon. Pikachu use Thunderbolt"
Pikachu fires the Thunderbolt down into the hole electrocuting Team Rocket
"Ahhhh!"
"It hurt them! Alright Charmander use Flamethrower!" Ash yells causing Charmander to set Team Rocket on fire. They scream and start trying to put the fire out
"It's working!" Ash tosses a pokeball
Team Rocket manage to put themselves out...and then a pokeball hits Jessie in the face
"Oww!" Jessie clutches her face which is bruised. She looks up and sees Ash staring down at them, "It's that twerp! I'll make him pay for this!"
"Jessie your hair's on fire!" James yells
Jessie only then notices that her hair is burning. She screams and starts running around in a panic
"Look a fireball." Ash points at the ball of fire floating around in the darkness
Team Rocket manage to put Jessie's hair out. She's crying now, "He's going to pay!"
"Aww the fireball's gone."
Pikachu glances behind him and notices a Haunter
Pikapi!
"What's wrong Pikachu?" Ash and Charmander look behind them but Haunter is gone, "You must be seeing things Pikachu."
Ash turns back around only to see Haunter floating right infront of him. Ash stares at it stunned. Haunter suddenly pops it's own eyes out
"Ahhhhh!" Ash falls backward terrified and Haunter starts laughing
Ash grabs his Pokedex and scans Haunter
Haunter the Gas Pokemon. A Ghost/Poison type. Haunter is a dangerous Pokémon. If one beckons you while floating in darkness, you must never approach it. This Pokémon will try to lick you with its tongue and steal your life away. Haunter is the evolved form of Gastly and evolves into Gengar. This Haunter is Male
Haunter sticks his tongue out and licks his eyeball
Haunter! Haunter!
"Alright we can do this. Go Charmander!" Ash points at Haunter and Charmander leaps into battle
"Use Flamethrower!" Ash yells and Charmander fires the Flamethrower. Haunter however disappears
"It's gone?" Ash says confused
Haunter reappears infront of Charmander
Char!
It licks Charmander
"Charmander no!" Ash yells
However all that really seems to happen is that Charmander is now covered in spit
Char!
Charmander wipes it's face in disgust
"Maybe we shouldn't trust everything the Pokedex says huh Pikachu."
Pi
Haunter suddenly licks Charmander again causing the Pokemon to be paralyzed
"Charmander!"
Haunter looks at Charmander confused
Haunter?
"Return Charmander!" Ash returns Charmander, "Alright Pikachu you're up."
Pikachu gets ready to battle when he suddenly notices some horns sticking through the floor
Pika!
"What is that!" Ash shouts terrified
A Gengar emerges
Gengar!
Ash scans it
Gengar the Shadow Pokemon. A Ghost/Poison type. A Gengar is close by if you feel a sudden chill. It may be trying to lay a curse on you. Gengar is the evolved form of Haunter. This Gengar is Male
Ash notices the room has gotten colder
"It's trying to curse us Pikachu!" Ash yells frightened
Pika!
Gengar Gengar
Gengar laughs and floats over to Haunter. It makes a funny face causing Haunter to laugh some more
"What are they doing?" Ash asks Pikachu confused
Chu?
The two Ghost Pokemon start distorting their bodies in weird ways causing each other to laugh
"I don't get it. They're weird." Ash says causing the two Pokemon to look at him upset
Chu
Gengar grins and pulls out a paper fan. It hits Haunter over the head with it and the two laugh
"Are you guys trying to be funny?" Ash asks
The two Pokemon nod
"Sorry but your routine isn't really working for me." Ash says
The two Ghosts slump over depressed. They start sinking through the floor
"Wait come back!" Ash yells and leaps at them
They disappear and Ash slams into the ground hard. He groans in pain and Pikachu heads over to check on him
Pikapi?
The chandelier above them suddenly snaps off the ceiling and falls ontop of them. The two of them groan in pain and Pikachu sparks uncontrollably causing them both to be electrocuted

The three Ghosts float over to them. Gengar pokes them

Haunter Haunter(It's because our comedy always knocks em dead)
Haunter starts laughing
Gengar Gengar(Now's not the time Haunter. Quick do your thing)
Haunter Haunter(Oh right)
Haunter touches Ash and Pikachu's heads and suddenly drags their ghosts out of their bodies
"What's happening?" Ghost Ash asks confused
Gengar Gengar!(I meant bring them back to life!)
Haunter Haunter(Relax there's plenty of time for that. Let's have some fun first)
Ash and Pikachu scream when they notice their bodies
"Are we dead?" Ghost Ash asks terrified
Gastly Gastly(Well yes and no. You're in limbo right now)
Pikachu!(You killed us!)
"What's the matter Pikachu?" Ghost Ash asks confused
Pika Pikachu(My dreams...gone forever)
Haunter Haunter(Being a Ghost isn't so bad. You get to do weird things like this)
Haunter twists his neck around a full 180 degrees
"I'm confused." Ghost Ash mutters still trying to come to terms with everything
Gengar Gengar
Gengar points towards Ash's body, then towards itself.
"So I am dead?"
Gengar shrugs
"This is terrible! I'm not ready to die!"
Gengar Gengar(Relax kid. It's only temporary. Haunter there can put you guys back together)
Pika?
Pikachu calms Ash down
"I'm still confused but if you're not freaking out then I assume everything is fine." Ash says completely in denial of the situation
Haunter Haunter!(Let's go scare some people!)
Haunter grabs Ash and Pikachu's hands and drags them along with him
"Where are we going?" Ash asks
They float out of the tower
"Wow this is actually rather cool." Ash looks around and spots his friends waiting outside
"I have an idea." He floats down towards them
"Ash has been gone for awhile." Misty says worried
"So you're really worried about me Misty." Ash says to her causing Misty to look around confused
"What's wrong Misty?" Alex asks
"I thought I heard something." She says confused
"Let's go for a ride." Ash says and suddenly grabs Misty and lifts her up into the sky
"Ahhh!"
"Misty!" Alex and Brock yell
"Help! The Ghost's got me!" Misty yells
"Ride's over!"
Ash drops Misty ontop of Alex and Brock
"Owww!"
Alex shoves Misty off him, "You're heavy you know that."
"That voice...I think something terrible happened to Ash!" Misty rushes into the tower. Alex and Brock chase after her
Haunter floats down towards Ash who is laughing
Haunter Haunter(I want to show you something)
The three Ghosts lead Ash and Pikachu to the very top floor of the tower. There's a bunch of toys and a TV set
"Woah. So this is where you three live?" Ash asks
Haunter Haunter(It's great huh. Anything a ghost could ask for.)
Pika Pika Chu(Is it just you three?)
Gastly Gastly(Mainly. Other Ghosts visit ocassionally,but we mainly keep to ourselves)
Ash is looking around the room, "Did you guys only want someone to play with?"
The three Ghosts nod
"It must get boring being here by yourself for so long. No wonder you like playing pranks on people."
Haunter Haunter(It's also really funny)
"This was fun, even if I'm still not entirely certain what's going on, but I can't stay here. I want to become a Pokemon master. I have to go."
Ash and Pikachu have been pulled out from under the chandelier. Misty, Brock and Alex are trying to revive them
"I told you we shouldn't have let them go in alone!" Alex shouts at Brock
"Please wake up Ash." Misty says tearfully
"I'm gonna head back into town and get a doctor. Maybe it's not too late." Brock's voice quivers
Ash's eyes start opening slowly
"Brock wait!" Alex yells
Ash and Pikachu slowly open their eyes
"Hey guys..." Ash says a bit disorientated
Gastly, Haunter and Gengar are watching them
Haunter Haunter(I'm going to miss them)
The group are leaving Lavender Town
"Are you seriously still gonna battle Sabrina?" Alex asks
"Yep." Ash replies
"But Ash you didn't catch a Ghost Pokemon. How are you gonna beat her?" Brock asks
"I'll figure it out. Maybe I'll use my sense of humour." Ash chuckles
Haunter!
Haunter suddenly appears infront of Misty,Brock and Alex causing them to scream
"Hmm?" Ash turns around and sees Haunter, "Haunter! What are you doing here?"
Haunter! Haunter!
"Are you saying you want to come with me?" Ash asks
Haunter!
"Alright! With you by my side Sabrina doesn't stand a chance!"
The Pokegang have returned to Saffron City. They are standing outside of Sabrina's gym
"This time we're gonna win." Ash says confidently, "Right Brock?"
He turns to look at Brock only to notice his friend is standing a good distance away from him
"Sure Ash." Brock says nervously
"What's wrong Brock?" Ash asks confused
"Nothing nothing. It's just...I think I might be allergic to Ghosts." Brock says nervously
Haunter floats around Ash cackling like a maniac
"You're not scared of Haunter are you?" Ash asks
"Please you can't be afraid of such a cute thing." Misty says causing Haunter to nuzzle against her
"Right 'cute.' " Brock says unconvinced
"Haunter's not that bad." Alex says,"I find it quite funny to be honest."
Haunter licks Misty's cheek...and accidentally paralyzes her. Misty falls over
"Misty!" Ash yells, "Haunter you paralyzed her!"
Haunter starts crying
"It's ok Haunter. I know you didn't mean it." Ash comforts the Ghost. Brock meanwhile gives Misty a Cheri Berry to eat
"Thanks Brock."
"Haunter inside that gym is a woman named Sabrina who has Psychic powers. I'm gonna need your help to beat her." Ash tells Haunter
Haunter!
"Then let's do this!" Everyone starts heading to the gym when Ash suddenly notices Alex isn't following, "Hey Alex aren't you coming?"
Alex starts backing away slowly, "No I uh...I've had all I can take of creepy Psychic lady. I'll see you later!"
Alex suddenly dashes off
"Come back you coward!" Ash yells after him
"You know I didn't expect Alex to be the first of us to break." Misty admits
"Fine we'll do this without him. Let's go guys."
Alex stops in front of a random building. He takes a few deep breaths
(There is no way I'm battling her. I'll find another gym. Hell I'll reapply to Pokemon Tech if I have to. Just anything to avoid her.)
He hears noises coming from inside the building. He looks up and sees that it looks similar to a school
"What's this?" He heads over to a sign, " 'Pokemon Fighting Dojo.' Huh maybe I should check it out."
Alex heads inside
"I knew you would be back." Sabrina tells Ash
"Yeah I'm back! And I'm ready to win that Marsh Badge!" Ash shouts confidently
"We will see. Take your position on the battlefield."
Ash and Pikachu step into their corners
"This will-" Sabrina starts saying before she is interrupted by the doors opening.
The old man strolls into the gym, "I'll handle referee duty."
"It's that old guy!" Ash shouts surprised
"What's he doing here?" Misty asks confused
The old man strolls over to the middle of the field and picks up two flags
"Alright father." Sabrina says
"Father!" Ash,Misty and Brock yell out shocked
Pika!
The old man nods, "This will be a 3-on-3 Pokemon battle! The challenger may make substitutions while the gym leader cannot! If your Pokemon leaves the battlefield then it be considered a forfeit! Gym leader send out your first Pokemon!"
A pokeball floats off of Sabrina's belt and shoots towards the battlefield
"Drowzee go."
Drowzee
"What's that?" Ash takes out his Pokedex
Drowzee the Hypnosis Pokemon. A Psychic type. Puts enemies to sleep then eats their dreams. Occasionally gets sick from eating bad dreams. Drowzee evolves into Hypno. This Drowzee is Female
"Alright in that case I choose Haunter!" Ash points ahead dramatically, but nothing happens, "Haunter?"
Ash looks around and notices that Haunter has disappeared, "Haunter!"
"Oh no." Misty says worried
"Haunter bailed." Brock says
"Haunter come on! I thought we were buddies!" Ash yells
"Send out your Pokemon." Sabrina tells him
"I...alright umm." Ash fiddles with his pokeballs,"I choose Squirtle!"
Squirtle!
"Battle begin!" Sabrina's father yells
"Squirtle use Water Gun!" Ash yells
The Water Gun fires towards Drowzee. The pink aura surrounds her and she redirects the attack...only for Squirtle's shell to immediately slam into her
Drowzee!
Sabrina flinches
Squirtle emerges from his shell right next to Drowzee
"Nice Squirtle! Now Water Pulse!" Ash yells
Squirtle fires a Pulse of water hitting Drowzee head on. Drowzee staggers around confused and Sabrina clutches her head
"Ash this is your chance quick!" Brock yells at Ash
"Right! Squirtle another Water Gun!" Ash yells and Squirtle fires the Water Gun. Drowzee tries to use Psychic to stop the attack but is too confused to concentrate. The attack hits Drowzee head on and knocks her to the ground
"Now finish it with Bite!" Ash yells
Squirtle leaps onto Drowzee and bites her neck
Drowzeeeee!
Drowzee faints. Sabrina pulls back in pain
"Drowzee is unable to battle. The winner of the round is Squirtle!" Sabrina's father raises a flag
"Yeah go Ash!" Misty cheers
"Return Drowzee." Sabrina lifts up another pokeball, "You have improved. But this battle isn't over yet. Go Mr Mime."
Mr Mime!
Ash takes out his pokedex and scans the Pokemon
Mr Mime the Barrier Pokemon. A Psychic/Fairy type. It is a pantomime expert that can create invisible but solid walls using miming gestures. Mr Mime is the evolved form of Mime Jr. This Mr Mime is Male
Mr Mime is pretending to be trapped in a box.
"It's creepy." Misty whispers to Brock
"You up for more Squirtle?" Ash asks
Squirtle responds by taking out it's black shades and putting them on
Squirtle!
"Alright then use Rapid Spin!" Ash yells
Squirtle withdraws into it's shell and spins towards Mr Mime. However right before he makes contact he suddenly slams into something hard
"Huh?"
Squirtle emerges from his shell and rubs his head
Squirtle!
"Squirtle what happened?" Ash asks confused
Mr Mime Mr Mime
Ash notices that the light is shining off of something right in front of Mr Mime
"Is that a wall?" Ash asks confused
"Ash Mr Mime placed an invisible wall in front of it!" Brock yells
"Oh great. Just what I need." Ash groans
A white orb suddenly appears in Mr Mime's hand
"Squirtle I don't know what that is but don't let it hit you!" Ash yells
Mr Mime tosses the orb towards Squirtle who tries to dodge but can't. The orb surrounds Squirtle whose eyes become glazed over
"Squirtle?" Ash asks confused
Squirtle suddenly withdraws back into it's shell and starts slamming into the invisible wall over and over again
"Squirtle stop that!" Ash yells but Squirtle doesn't listen
"What's wrong with Squirtle?" Misty asks concerned
"It's being forced to use Rapid Spin over and over again." Brock says while watching Squirtle, "Mr Mime must have used Encore on it."
Squirtle eventually tires itself out and emerges from it's shell. It falls over exhausted
Squirt...
"Squirtle are you ok?" Ash asks
Squirtle forces itself back to it's feet and gives Ash a thumbs up
"Look out!"
Squirtle fires a Water Gun at the ground boosting itself into the air and dodging a Psybeam from Mr Mime. It falls towards the Barrier Pokemon
"Alright Squirtle use Bite!" Ash yells
Squirtle opens it's jaw wide and chomps down on Mr Mime...who barely reacts
"What?" Ash yells confused
Mr Mime sucker punches Squirtle knocking it through the air
Squirtle!
Squirtle slams into the ground and faints
"Squirtle is unable to battle! The winner of this round is Mr Mime!" Sabrina's father raises a flag
"Return Squirtle! You did great buddy." Ash looks down at Pikachu, "You're up Pikachu."
Pika!
Pikachu hops onto the battlefield and sparks it's cheeks
Mr Mime laughs and pretends to lasso Pikachu who just looks at Ash confused
"I guess it wants to play." Ash answers just as confused
Pikachu is suddenly surrounded by psychic energy
Pi...
"Oh no Pikachu!"
Mr Mime mimes pulling the rope and Pikachu is yanked towards him
Pikachu!
Mr Mime raises it's fist to punch Pikachu. Green energy surrounds it
"Pikachu Discharge!" Ash yells
Pikachu sends out sparks of electricity all throughout the arena. Everyone takes cover from the attacks. Mr Mime is hit and screams in pain. He loses focus causing him to drop Pikachu to the ground. Sabrina clutches her head
The electricity dissipates
"Mr Mime are you ok?" Sabrina asks
Mi...
Some sparks suddenly appear around Mr Mime who freezes up
"Yes it worked!" Ash pumps his fist, "Alright Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
Pikachu speeds towards Mr Mime. The Barrier Pokemon tries to create a wall to protect itself but the paralysis prevents it. Pikachu slams into Mr Mime knocking it to the ground
Mime!
Pikachu's cheeks spark
Pi-ka-chuuuuuuuuu!
And it blasts Mr Mime with a fully powered Thunderbolt
Mime!
Mr Mime faints
"Mr Mime is unable to battle! The winner of the round is Pikachu!"
"Yes! Only one left!" Ash cheers
Pikachu!
Sabrina returns Mr Mime. Her last pokeball starts floating around her
"You've impressed me Ash, but this battle is over for you. Go Kadabra."
Kadabra!
Pikachu stares down Kadabra. His cheeks spark
"Don't worry Pikachu. This time we'll win." Ash says
Chu
Kadabra is surrounded by psychic energy. It fires a Psybeam towards Pikachu
"Pikachu use Agility to dodge!" Ash yells
Pikachu drops down onto all fours. He starts running directly towards the Psybeam. His speed starts picking up and he dodges to the side at the last second. He then sprints directly towards Kadabra
"Quick Attack!"
Right before Pikachu makes contact Kadabra teleports. Pikachu starts firing Thunderbolts all around the gym. Kadabra reappears only to teleport away immediately as a Thunderbolt hits the spot it was at. Sabrina watches the battlefield struggling to keep track of everything
"We've got them on the ropes Pikachu!"
Pikachu continues firing Thunderbolts all around the gym. Kadabra appears right in front of Pikachu
Kadabra!
Pikachu slams into Kadabra knocking them both to the ground. He starts sparking
"Get out of there Kadabra!" Sabrina yells
Kadabra tries to use Teleport but Pikachu, whose tail is sparking with electricity, smacks it against Kadabra shocking the Psychic type
Kadabra!
"Use Thunder!" Ash yells
Pikachuuuuuuuuuu!
Pikachu fires a massive bolt of electricity hitting Kadabra who screams and thrashes in pain. Once the attack is over Kadabra lays against the ground scorched. Pikachu hops off and takes some deep breaths
Pi...ka...
"We did it! We-"
"Kadabra use Recover"
Kadabra instantly heals itself
"-did it." Ash finishes disappointed
Pikachu steps towards Kadabra to continue battling
Pi...ka...chu...
He suddenly falls over
"Ah Pikachu!" Ash yells
Pikapi...
"Pikachu used up all it's energy trying to take out Kadabra." Brock explains
"Poor Pikachu." Misty says
"Pikachu is unable to battle! The winner of this round is Kadabra!" Sabrina's father announces
Once again Kadabra floats Pikachu over to Ash
"You did great Pikachu. Take a rest." Ash tells him
He then turns back towards Kadabra
"This is my last chance."
He grabs a pokeball, "I choose you-"
He is interrupted by laughing
"Huh? Where's that coming from?" Ash looks around confused
Haunter suddenly appears on the battlefield
Haunter Haunter!
"It's Haunter!" Ash,Misty and Brock shout surprised
Haunter Haunter
Haunter sticks it's long tongue out and licks it's eyes off it's own face. It then reveals that they're now on it's tongue and they start jumping. Sabrina and Kadabra watch the Ghost confused
"Haunter!" Ash shouts to get Haunter's attention. The Gas Pokemon turns to look at his friend, "Are you gonna battle for me?"
Haunter laughs and flies over to Ash

"Really? Yes! Alright I choose Haunter!" Ash yells
"Haunter vs Kadabra. Battle begin!" Sabrina's father raises both flags
Kadabra fires a Psybeam at Haunter
"Haunter use Night Shade!" Ash yells
Haunter's eyes glow red and it fires two black beams out of them. The beams connect with Kadabra's Psybeam and they start pushing against each other. Kadabra's Psybeam is stronger and it rips through the Night Shade directly towards Haunter
"Haunter look out!" Ash yells
Haunter disappears
"Haunter where did you go?" Ash asks confused, "Please tell me you didn't run off."
Haunter suddenly appears in front of Kadabra
"Haunter what are you doing!" Ash shouts confused
Haunter starts distorting it's face in an attempt to make Kadabra laugh
"Haunter seems to be enjoying itself." Misty says
"I don't think Ash is though." Brock says
"Haunter come on! We have a battle to win!" Ash shouts
Haunter's hand is suddenly surrounded by blackish purple energy and it uppercuts Kadabra
Kadabra!
Kadabra goes flying through the air but uses Psychic to catch itself. However a Shadow Ball then hits it knocking it to the ground. Haunter floats around the battlefield cackling
"Woah Haunter's actually quite good at battling." Misty says surprised
"Behind that prankster personality lies the true power of a Ghost type Pokemon." Brock says
"Your Haunter is weird." Sabrina tells Ash
"Yeah tell me about it." Ash agrees
Haunter suddenly stops floating. It twists it's neck around so it's staring at Kadabra and it's eyes glow red

It hisses at Kadabra who shrinks away frightened
"Haunter just used Scary Face!" Brock shouts frightened as well
Haunter goes right back to laughing
"Alright Haunter you've had your fun but now we need to finish this. Use Lick!" Ash yells
Haunter dashes towards Kadabra. It sticks it's tongue out and tries to lick Kadabra who suddenly stops it with Psychic
"Oh no it got Haunter!" Ash yells
Kadabra fires a Psybeam hitting Haunter and blowing it back
Haunter!
Haunter manages to stop itself
"Careful Ash. Haunter's part poison type so Psychic type moves are super effective against it!" Misty yells at Ash who nods
Kadabra prepares to attack Haunter when the ghost disappears again. It reappears in front of Sabrina
"Haunter what are you doing now!" Ash shouts confused
Sabrina stares at Haunter who grins and shoves his hand down his throat. He pulls out a bomb
"Ah!" Everyone but Sabrina scream
Haunter starts cackling and the bomb explodes...covering him and Sabrina in powder

Sabrina keeps staring at Haunter, and then she starts laughing
"I am so confused." Ash says confused
"I haven't heard her laugh in years." Her father says happily, "You've truly done a great thing today kid."
"That's great and all but I still need my badge." Ash says annoyed, "Can we get on with the battle?"
"Well now's your chance." Her father says and points to Kadabra who is also laughing
"Haunter Shadow Punch!"
Haunter's fist immediately starts glowing and it dashes towards Kadabra
"Kadabra Reflect!" Sabrina yells between fits of laughter
Kadabra is surrounded by a red energy and when Haunter punches it the attack harmlessly bounces off and hits Haunter instead
Haunter!
"Ah Haunter!"
Haunter shakes it's head
"Ash I don't know if Haunter can take too many more hits." Misty says worried
"We can do this. We're so close." Ash says
"Kadabra use Psycho Cut!" Sabrina yells
Kadabra's spoon starts glowing pink and a blade made of psychic energy forms at the end of it. The Psi Pokemon lunges at Haunter
"Uh Haunter use Payback!" Ash yells
Haunter's eyes glow red. As soon as Kadabra slashes it with the psychic blade a massive blast of energy bursts from Haunter hitting Kadabra
Kadabraaaaaaa!
Kadabra is blasted halfway across the field and slams into the ground hard enough to create a crater. The Psi Pokemon has fainted
"Kadabra is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Ash Ketchum!"
"I won!" Ash cheers happily
Misty, Brock and Pikachu cheer as well. Haunter is zooming around the battlefield happily
Sabrina returns Kadabra, "Well done Kadabra."
Ash is dancing around with Haunter
"We did it! We did it!"
Sabrina walks over to Ash, "Congralutions Ash. That was the most fun battle I've ever had."
"It was pretty tough." Ash admits
The marsh badge floats into Sabrina's hand, "In honour of your victory I present to you the Marsh Badge." She offers it to Ash who takes it
"Alright I won the Marsh Badge!"
Pikachu!
Haunter Haunter
The group are walking around Saffron trying to find Alex. Ash is admiring his Marsh Badge
"This is great. I'm the first person to ever defeat Sabrina." Ash grins widely, "I'm unstoppable!"
They are walking past the Fighting Dojo when Alex exits from it. He is wearing a gi with a black belt on.
"Oh hey guys. Did you win?" Alex asks
Everyone stares at him dumbfounded.
"Uh yeah I won." Ash says, "Alex what happened to you?"
"Oh I'm a master at martial arts now." Alex replies
"Yeah we see that. Um how?" Misty asks confused
"It was awesome. You see I walked into the Dojo to check it out for curiosity sake. Inside were a bunch of martial artists training with their Pokemon, mainly Fighting types but there were a few non-Fighting types there as well. Anyhow after I asked the Shihan of the Dojo if I could enroll he allowed me to battle some of the other trainers using my Charmander. I absolutely destroyed them and he was so impressed that he agreed to teach me. Apparently I was so skilled that they named a new Martial Arts style after me! 'Alexjutsu.' After I quickly rose through the ranks my sensei challenged me to a Pokemon battle and when I defeated him he told me he could no longer teach me anything and even offered me the choice between three Pokemon as a reward." Alex explains
Everyone still just stares at him
"You just stole that costume didn't you?" Misty accuses him
"No I'm serious! Look I'll show you. Go Machop!" Alex tosses his pokeball
Machop!
Machop strikes a pose. Everyone stares at it dumbfounded. Ash pulls out his Pokedex
Machop the Superpower Pokemon. A Fighting type. Very powerful in spite of its small size. Its mastery of many types of martial arts makes it very tough. Machop evolves into Machoke. This Machop is Male
"I don't know what to say." Misty exclaims
Haunter Haunter
"So where are we headed next?" Alex asks
"Back to Lavender Town! Haunter and I have a tournament to win."

Me: And there we go. Ash has his fourth badge, Alex is behind by one but it's alright because he's a black belt now
Alex: I don't think that's possible
Me: Who took karate out of the two of us?
Alex: A single lesson where you ran off crying-
Me: Anyhows! I was originally gonna give Alex either a Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee like in the games but I realized due to a later episode focusing on both of those Pokemon, it would probably be better if I gave him a different fighting type. I was then gonna give him either a Tyrogue or Hitmontop but I decided against it, so I settled on Machop.
Alex: Machop's great. One of my favourite pure Fighting type Pokemon
Me: So stay tuned for next chapter where we'll be dealing with another Elemental League tournament. This time with Ghosts
