Me: Hey everyone sorry for the gap between updates. June was hectic
pokemonking0924-The reason I didn't include the Dragonite episode was because when I was writing that chapter I had this mindset of trying to have the lore match up more with the games: So no mysterious giant Dragonite, no Maiden's Peak Gastly, you know getting rid of the more weirdier stuff the Anime did. By the time I got to the Maiden's Peak chapter though I decided it's more fun to keep that stuff in as it makes the world and Pokemon feel more mysterious. I regret cutting it out but it is what it is. I may revisit the idea in the future though.
Alex: Battle Between Friends!
The Pokegang have checked into the HopHopHop Town Pokemon Centre and they are all currently sleeping. They managed to arrive two days before the tournament and are planning on devouting all of tomorrow to training. Brock is currently kissing his pillow in his sleep
"Oh Suzie I knew you felt the same." He mutters in his sleep
Ash has kicked his blanket off in his sleep and is hanging halfway off the bed
"That makes badge 100...I'm the best..." He mutters
Pikachu is sleeping on his chest.
Pika...Pi...(Yes...pamper me...)
Misty is cuddling with Oddish and they are tucked in tightly
"Pokeball go...yes I caught...Kabutops..."
The early hints of sunlight shine on Alex's face causing him to stir. He rubs his eyes and looks around the room, when he notices everyone is still asleep he grins
"Oh this is gonna be great." He slowly climbs off his bed and heads over to his bag. He digs inside and pulls out some hair dye
"Thank you Celadon." He whispers to himself
"Ahhhhhhh!" Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Oddish hop to their feet at the sound of screaming
"Pikachu Thunderbolt!" Ash yells causing Pikachu to attack him, Brock and Oddish
"Owwwwww!" The three of them collapse to the floor
"Not...me..." Ash groans
Pikachu...
Misty bursts out of the window, "Look at me!" She yells furiously. Everyone's eyes widen when they see what the problem is. Misty's hair is purple
"What did you do to your hair?" Brock asks shocked
"I didn't do anything!" She screams, "I bet it was your Haunter!" She points at Ash accusingly
"Hey I know Haunter's mischievous but I don't think he'd go this far." Ash stammers out nervously
"Hmm maybe not."
Ash looks around the room, "Hey where's Alex?"
"He wasn't in here when I woke..." The realization strikes her, "I'm going to kill him!"
She tries to barge out of the room but Ash stops her, "Misty calm down. It's not that bad."
"Not that bad! I look ridiculous!" She yells at him angrily
"I think it kinda suits you..." Ash says genuinely. Misty huffs annoyed
"I'm gonna let that slide cause I know you're trying to be nice." Misty replies angrily
"Relax Misty. Here look at this." Brock hands Misty the empty hair dye box. Misty reads what the box says
" 'Temporary Hair Dye. Lasts for 2 to 3 days.' "
"See your hair will be back to normal in no time at all." Ash says cheerfully
"I'm still mad. When I see him I'm gonna-" Ash and Brock cover her mouth
"We're kid friendly!"
Alex is hiding out in the forest outside HopHopHop Town
"I'm gonna have to lay low for a little while. Might even need to change my name, but it was worth it!" He laughs and sits down next to a tree, "Well at least it's a good excuse to get some training done. Go Paras!"
Paras Paras
"You're gonna need a sparring partner. Go Gya..." He stops before he throws the pokeball, "Maybe Gyarados is a little too much. Go Vaporeon!"
Vaporeon pops out of the pokeball. She looks around at the forest disgusted and turns towards Alex
Vaporeon! Vaporeon?(Seriously! Again with the nature?)
"Oh come on Vaporeon! You can't keep getting upset about this." Alex whines
Vaporeon! Vaporeon! Vaporeon...(Yes I can! When I graced your life with my presence I expected to be spoiled! Not forced to slum it out with the likes of...)
She looks at Paras who is trying to eat it's own mushrooms. Vaporeon shivers
Vaporeon(That thing)
Paras Paras(You're no picnic either)
Vaporeon fires a Water Pulse at Paras who dodges
"Yes that's the spirit!" Alex cheers, "I'm glad to see you're finally interested in battling."
Vaporeon rolls her eyes
Vaporeon Vaporeon(You're simple but I still love you)
Team Rocket is at a different part of the forest. They are searching around for any Grass type Pokemon
"Why did you have to go sign us up for the tournament before we caught a Pokemon?" Meowth asks annoyed
"Oh quit your whining Meowth. We need the money, and if that means you have to spend all day searching for a Grass type Pokemon then so be it!" Jessie exclaims
James spots something shiny near a bush, "What's that?"
He gets closer and his eyes widen when he realizes it's a bottle cap, "Ooh another one for my collection!"
He bends down to pick it up when he hears movement in the bushes, "Hmm?"
A Weepinbell suddenly jumps out of the bush and bites his head
"Ah! Jessie Meowth help! It's trying to eat me!" James runs away in a panic
"James you found one!" Jessie shouts happily
"Way to go Jimmy!" Meowth shouts
"Help!" James continues screaming. He trips and falls to the ground. One of his pokeballs rolls out and makes contact with Weepinbell sucking it in

"Phew it almost got me." James goes back to pick up his bottlecap
Paras and Vaporeon are both exhausted from the battling
"Alright I think that's enough for the day. You both did great." Alex praises them
Pa...
Paras suddenly starts glowing
"Oh Paras you're evolving!" Alex shouts happily. Vaporeon rolls her eyes
Paras grows bigger and the mushrooms on it's back merge into a single giant mushroom. The glow fades away
Parasect!
Alex takes out his pokedex and scans it
Parasect the Mushroom Pokemon. A Bug/Grass type. A host-parasite pair in which the parasite mushroom has taken over the host bug. Prefers damp places.
"Wait what?" Alex closes the pokedex horrified
Vaporeon Vaporeon(At least it will be easier to live with now)
Alex bends down and stares into Parasect's lifeless eyes
"Is it true?" Alex asks
Parasect stares at Alex blankly...and then starts trying to eat it's own mushroom
"No you're still the same Paras." Alex lets out a relieved sigh
Vaporeon(Darn)
Alex sneaks back into the room late at night once everyone else is asleep. He glances at Misty and snickers quietly before getting into bed and drifting off to sleep
"Ahhhhhh!" Alex stares at his baseball bat horrified, "How could you!"
"You started this." Misty replies
The words 'Alex loves Leaf' have been carved into his baseball bat
Ash,Alex and Misty have lined up with the other contestants for the Grass type tournament. Misty is wearing a jacket with her hoodie up to hide her hair. Brock is sitting in the crowd with Pikachu on his lap

James, in a disguise, glances over at the Pokegang
(Oh no!)
"Welcome to the..." The Announcer clears his throat, "HopHopHop Town Grass type Tournament!"
The crowd cheers. Jessie and Meowth are amongst them and Jessie rolls her eyes annoyed
"I wish they'd just get on with it. All this sunlight is bad for my skin." Jessie moans annoyed
"We have twenty trainers all competing to win the Grass badge! We have already set up the matches for the first round!" The Announcer shows the giant board for the matches. Ash,Alex,Misty and James are all going up against other trainers
"May the first match trainers please step onto the stage!" The Announcer yells
"Well I'm up." Ash says excitedly and gets on stage. His opponent, a young girl with dark blue hair, steps onto her corner
"In the red corner we have Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!" The Announcer yells, "And in the green corner we have Assunta from Apple City!"
"Apple City? What kind of name is that?" Alex whispers to Misty confused
"I'm not talking to you." Misty turns her back on him
"May the Red trainer please send out their Pokemon!" The Announcer yells
"I choose you! Bulbasaur!" Ash tosses his pokeball and Bulbasaur pops out
Bulbasaur!
"A Bulbasaur huh? Well in that case..." Assunta tosses her pokeball
Ivysaur!
"What?" Ash shouts surprised
Bulbasaur?
"An Ivysaur huh." Brock mutters to himself
Ash pulls out his pokedex and scans Ivysaur
Ivysaur the Seed Pokemon. A Grass/Poison type. The bulb on its back grows by drawing energy. It gives off an aroma when it is ready to bloom. Ivysaur is the evolved form of Bulbasaur and evolves into Venusaur. This Ivysaur is Female
"Don't worry Bulbasaur. You're just as good as any Ivysaur." Ash reassures his Pokemon
Bulbasaur nods and gets ready to battle
Bulbasaur!
"The red trainer has chosen a Bulbasaur! The green trainer has chosen an Ivysaur! Battle begin!" The referee yells
"Bulbasaur use Razor Leaf!" Ash yells
"Ivysaur counter with your own Razor Leaf!" Assunta yells
Both Pokemon fire the leaves from their backs. Ivysaur's leaves are bigger and so slice up Bulbasaur's ones easily. The attack strikes Bulbasaur knocking the Pokemon backwards
Bulba!
"Now smack it with Vine Whip!" Assunta yells
Ivysaur extends it's vines out and smacks Bulbasaur to the side
Bulbasaur!
"Ah Bulbasaur!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur gets back to his feet and shakes the damage off
"Alright Bulbasaur if we're gonna win we have to be quick! Use Double Team!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur nods and a white glow surrounds him. Multiple copies of Bulbasaur appear all around Ivysaur who looks around confused
"Ivysaur use Vine Whip!" Assunta yells
Ivysaur starts swinging her vines around to hit the Bulbasaur copies. Each one that is hit disappears in a puff of smoke. However right before she hits the real Bulbasaur, he hops into the air and extends his vines out smacking Ivysaur across the face
Ivysaur!
"Now Take Down!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur, who is still in the air, uses his vines to propel himself towards Ivysaur and smacks into her head first
"Ah Ivysaur!" Assunta yells
Bulbasaur lands on the ground and the two Pokemon stagger around confused. Bulbasaur quickly shakes it off though and wraps it's vines around Ivysaur. He lifts her into the air before slamming her against the ground hard and knocking her out
"Ivysaur is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Ash Ketchum!" The referee yells
The crowd cheers
"An amazing upset! Ash's Bulbasaur was able to defeat it's evolved form Ivysaur!" The Announcer yells
"Woohoo way to go Bulbasaur!" Ash cheers
"Return Ivysaur." Assunta returns her pokemon
Alex and Misty are clapping
"Yeah way to go Bulbasaur!" Misty yells
"May the second match trainers please step up!" The Announcer yells
James and his opponent get onto the stage. James sends out his newly caught Weepinbell while his opponent sends out a Vileplume. Weepinbell suddenly leaps onto James' head and bites him
"Ah help!" James yells. Everyone watches stunned as James fights to get Weepinbell off him
"He's so embarrasing." Jessie moans
"Just pretend we don't know him." Meowth replies
James finally gets Weepinbell off and tosses it back into the ring
"Battle begin!" The referee yells
"Vileplume use Bullet Seed!" Vileplume's trainer yells and Vileplume fires the seeds out of it's mouth
"Weepinbell look out!" James yells and Weepinbell dodges the attack. It then shoots it's vine forward smacking Vileplume and knocking it back slightly
"Yes now use Wrap!"
The vine extends around Vileplume and starts squeezing

Vileplume struggles to get free
"Vileplume use Sweet Scent!" The trainer yells and a pink powder is released from Vileplume's flower. Weepinbell sniffs the powder and it goes into a daze
Weepinbell...
It starts loosening the strength on the vine
Pikachu sniffs the air and he also goes into a daze
Pika...
"Pikachu what's wrong?" Brock asks confused
"Do you smell dat Jess? It's so nice." Meowth tells Jessie also in a daze
"Snap out of it!" Jessie smacks Meowth on the side of the head
"Meowth!"
Weepinbell lets go of Vileplume
"Weepinbell what are you doing!" James yells
"Now Vileplume use Body Slam!" The trainer yells and Vileplume charges at the still dazed Weepinbell
"Weepinbell no!" James yells
However right as Vileplume attacks Weepinbell, the Flycatcher Pokemon suddenly slashes at it with it's leaves

Vileplume falls backwards in pain. Weepinbell then swings it's vine down hard on Vileplume's head knocking the Pokemon out
"Oh my poor Vileplume!" The trainer yells
"Vileplume is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Jameson!" The referee yells
"Huh he actually did good." Jessie says surprised
"Something about that guy seems familiar." Alex mutters to Ash
"He seems nice. I like him." Ash replies
"May the next two trainers please step forward!" The Announcer yells
"You're up Misty!" Ash says excitedly
"Alright. Here we go." Misty gets on stage. Her opponent, an Aroma Lady named Annie, steps opposite her
"Go Roselia!" Annie tosses her pokeball
"Woah what Pokemon is that?" Ash asks and pulls out his Pokedex
Roselia the Thorn Pokemon. A Grass/Poison type. Roselia shoots sharp thorns as projectiles at any opponent that tries to steal the flowers on its arms. The aroma of this Pokémon brings serenity to living things. Roselia is the evolved form of Budew and evolves into Roserade through use of a Shiny Stone. This Roselia is Female
"Go Oddish!" Misty tosses her pokeball and Oddish pops out. He stumbles around excitedly
"The Red trainer has chosen a Roselia! The Green trainer has chosen an Oddish! Battle begin!"
"Alright Oddish you've got this!" Misty cheers and Oddish nods. He charges at Roselia and tries to slam into her but she dodges out of the way. A vine extends out of one of Roselia's flowers, starts glowing, and strikes towards Oddish
"Look out Oddish!"
Oddish hops over the whip avoiding it
"That was close. Do you think Oddish can handle this?" Alex asks Ash
"Yeah him and Misty got this!" Ash replies
"Roselia use Razor Leaf!" Annie yells and Roselia fires the leaves straight towards Oddish. Oddish ducks to the ground and the leaves fly over his head,trimming his head leaves in the process. Oddish touches the top of his head

"Oddish watch out!" Misty yells
Oddish looks up and sees two Power Whips coming towards him. He rolls out of the way avoiding it
"Now use Bullet Seed!" Misty yells
Oddish starts spitting out seeds from his mouth. Roselia swings the two vines around trying to swipe the seeds aside but misses and is pummeled
"Oh no!" Annie yells
"Now use Giga Drain!"
Oddish's body starts glowing green and three beams shoot out from him. The beams grab onto Roselia and start absorbing her energy

Roselia collapses to the ground
"Roselia is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Misty!"
"Yeah way to go Oddish!" Misty cheers
"Woo nice job Misty!" Ash shouts
"Return Roselia." Annie returns her Pokemon
"Now we are on the last match of the Preliminary rounds! May the final two contestants please step up on stage!" The Announcer yells
"My turn." Alex smirks and gets up on stage. He faces down his opponent
"Go Bellossom!"

"It's so cute!" Misty yells
Ash takes out his pokedex and scans Bellossom
Bellossom the Flower Pokemon. A Grass type Pokemon. Bellossom gather at times and seem to dance. They say that the dance is a ritual to summon the sun. Bellossom is the evolved form of Gloom. This Bellossom is Female
Bellossom is swaying to some imaginary music in it's head
"It does seem to like dancing." Ash mumbles
Alex tosses his pokeball, "Go Parasect!"
"Parasect!" Ash and Misty shout confused

Ash scans Parasect
"When did Paras evolve?" Misty asks confused
"It must have happened yesterday." Ash says equally confused
"The Red Trainer has chosen a Bellossom! The Green Trainer has chosen a Parasect! Battle begin!" The referee yells
"We're not scared of that creepy bug! Bellossom use Moonblast!"
A pink orb of energy forms infront of Bellossom's mouth and she fires it at Parasect. Parasect is hit head on and knocked backwards but otherwise doesn't seem to have even noticed the attack
"What! It completely shrugged it off!" Bellossom's trainer yells shocked
"Woah Parasect got tough." Misty says surprised
"Are you ok Parasect?" Alex whispers to his Pokemon
Parasect continues staring blankly at Bellossom
Parasect(So much pain)
"Use Fury Cutter!" Alex yells
Parasect charges directly towards Bellossom, it's pincer glowing white, and it swipes at her. Bellossom dodges out of the way but Parasect spins around and slashes her this time
Bellossom!
Bellossom is sent crashing to the ground
"Ah Bellossom! Quick use Petal Dance!" Her trainer yells
A bunch of pink petals fire out from the flowers on Bellossom's head and smash into Parasect. It's sent flying through the air and crashes into the ground...but otherwise still keeps staring ahead blankly
"It's like some kind of zombie!" The trainer yells terrified
Parasect gets back to it's feet and staggers towards Bellossom

Bellossom!
"Ah! We forfeit!" The trainer yells causing everyone to quiet down in shock
"The Red trainer has forfeited! The winner of the battle is Alex!" The referee yells
The crowd starts booing Bellossom's trainer who runs off with his Pokemon
"Well uh...after that disappointment we have reached The final ten! We will now start preparing for the next rounds!" The Announcer yells
Alex rolls his eyes, "That was lame. Return Parasect."
Alex heads over to Ash and Misty who are dumbfounded
"So that happened..."
"We have determined the matchups!" The Announcer gestures at the board causing Ash,Alex and Misty to gasp in shock
The final match is Ash vs Alex
"May the first match contestants step on stage!" The Announcer yells and Misty heads up. Ash turns towards Alex
"Uh Alex-" Ash starts saying before Alex interrupts him
"We'll do our best alright. Whoever wins...wins." Alex tells him.
Ash grins, "Alright then I can't wait to win!"
"Whatever Ash." Alex rolls his eyes
Ash and Alex are preparing to battle
"I choose Bulbasaur!" Ash tosses his pokeball

"Go Parasect!" Alex tosses his pokeball

"The Red Trainer has chosen Bulbasaur! The Green Trainer has chosen Parasect! Let the battle begin!" The Referee yells
Bulbasaur and Parasect face each other down. Bulbasaur is hesitant to make the first move while Parasect seemd to have dazed out
"Go Ash!" Misty cheers. Alex glances at her and she sticks her tongue out at him. He shoos her
Pika Pikapi Chu Pikachu(I want Ash to win but at the same time Alex hasn't won a single tournament yet)
"Yeah those are my best friends. I'm kind of their mentor you know..." Pikachu glances up and sees Brock flirting with a girl sitting behind him
"I taught them everything I know."
Pikachu shocks him
"Ahhhhh!"
"Alright Bulbasaur use Vine Whip!" Ash yells and Bulbasaur fires his vines towards Parasect. The attack strikes Parasect head on and slam her into the ground but she doesn't react to the attack at all
Bulba!
"Don't worry Bulbasaur it's working!" Ash reassures Bulbasaur
Parasect gets back to her feet
"Parasect use Fury Cutter!" Alex yells
Parasect charges towards Bulbasaur and slashes at him but Bulbasaur dodges and fires Razor Leaf. Parasect ducks to avoid the Razor Leaf but some of them strike her mushrooms

Parasect jumps into the air in pain
"Parasect focus! Use Screech!"
Parasecccccccccccccccccct!
The sound waves pass Bulbasaur who shakes it's head to try and get the sound out
Bulbasaur!
He staggers around confused
"Bulbasaur use Vine Whip again!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur shoots out it's vine...and smacks Ash in the face
"Ouch! Bulbasaur not me!" Ash yells
Bulba...
Bulbasaur tries to move to attack Parasect but trips over his own feet and slams into the ground
"Bulbasaur what's wrong!" Ash yells confused
"It seems Ash's Bulbasaur has become confused! Will Parasect be able to capitalize!" The Announcer announces
"Fury Cutter!"
Parasect slashes Bulbasaur knocking it back
Bulbasaur!
"Bulbasaur!"
"Again!" Alex yells
Parasect rushes at Bulbasaur who suddenly dives over her
Parasect!
Bulbasaur shoots out his vines and wraps them around Parasect. He lifts Parasect into the air as he lands and then throws her over him and into the ground

"Shoot Parasect are you alright?" Alex asks concerned
Bulba!
"It seems Bulbasaur has managed to recover!" The Announcer yells
"Way to go Bulbasaur!" Ash cheers
Parasect gets back to her feet
Parasect...
The mushrooms on Parasect's back start shaking and some Spore comes out
"Parasect no! Grass type Pokemon are immune to Spore!" Alex yells
The Spore travels over to Bulbasaur who isn't affected in the slightest. He looks around confused
Bulba?
"Bulbasaur look out!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur turns back confused only for a green ball to surround him
Bulbasaur!
Bulbasaur's energy is sucked up by the orb which then returns to Parasect who suddenly looks a lot stronger
Parasect!
"An excellent distraction by Alex's Parasect has allowed them to blindside Bulbasaur!" The Announcer yells
Bulbasaur's one leg gives out on him
"Bulbasaur! Are you ok?" Ash asks concerned
Bulba...saur!
Bulbasaur gets back to his feet
"Then use Razor Leaf!"
The leaves fire straight towards Parasect who suddenly starts running towards them
"What?" Ash asks confused. Alex smirks
"Keep going Parasect!" Alex yells
Parasect leaps into the air and falls towards the Razor Leaf. She raises her two front pincers and crosses them across each other. The Razor Leaf cuts into them but otherwise don't effect her. She falls towards Bulbasaur
"Now X-Scissor!" Alex yells and Parasect's pincers start glowing
"Bulbasaur get out of there!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur tries to dodge to the side but a surge of pain in his leg causes him to fall
Bulba!
"Oh no!" Ash yells
Parasect slashes it's pincers out creating an X-shaped energy blade striking Bulbasaur
Bulbasaur!
Bulbasaur faints from the attack
"Bulbasaur is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Alex!" The referee yells
The crowd cheers
"Nice going Alex!" Brock yells from the crowd
"Return Bulbasaur! You did great buddy." Ash says to Bulbasaur
Alex returns Parasect, "Nice job. We've got this in the bag now."
The two approach each other and shake hands
"Congrats Alex. I'm gonna win next time though." Ash says causing Alex to laugh
"We'll see Ash."
"A good show of sportsmanship from our competitors! And with that battle we have now reached The Final Five! Alex! Misty! Jameson! Chad! And Leia!" The Announcer yells, "Now for the Quarterfinal Rounds one trainer will automatically get a BYE to the Semifinals! Since Alex won the last match of the previous round he will automatically move onto the next round!"
"Yes!" Alex pumps his fist. Misty rolls her eyes
"The matches for the Quarterfinals have been decided!" The Announcer gestures at the board

James' eyes widen, (Oh come on!)
James and Misty are preparing to battle. Ash has since taken a seat next to Brock
"Yeah go Misty!" Ash yells
Jessie and Meowth glance over at Ash annoyed
"Must he always be so loud?"
"Go Oddish!" Misty tosses her pokeball and Oddish pops out
Oddish! Odd!
"Go Weepinbell!" James tosses his pokeball and then drops to the ground. Weepinbell pops out and immediately leaps for where James would have been standing. It notices James is gone and then jumps back into spot
"The Red trainer has chosen an Oddish! The Green trainer has chosen a Weepinbell! Battle begin!" The referee yells
"Weepinbell use Slam!" James yells and Weepinbell leaps towards Oddish. Oddish's eyes widen terrified and Weepinbell slams into him

Oddish is sent flying but manages to land on his feet
"Oddish use Razor Leaf!" Misty yells and Oddish fires the leaves towards Weepinbell who slices them up
"That's kind of terrifying." Misty gulps

"Weepinbell Vine Whip!" James yells and Weepinbell shoots out it's vine towards Oddish
"Oddish don't let it get you!" Misty yells
Oddish starts running around the battlefield in an attempt to avoid the vine

"Run little Oddish run!" The Announcer yells
Oddish trips and slams into the ground

"Look out Oddish!"
Weepinbell wraps it's vine around Oddish's foot and lifts him into the air

Weepinbell prepares to slam Oddish into the ground
"It looks like poor Oddish is about to be squished!" The Announcer yells
"Ah Oddish quick use Charm!" Misty yells and Oddish makes a cute face at Weepinbell. Weepinbell's eyes widen and it gently lowers Oddish to the ground
"Weepinbell what are you doing!" James yells out annoyed
"And some quick thinking by Misty saves her adorable Oddish!" The Announcer yells also effected by the Charm attack
"Phew. That was too close." Misty sighs in relief, "Alright Oddish use Secret Power!"
Oddish's body is surrounded by a pink aura and he leaps forward slamming into Weepinbell and knocking the Flycatcher Pokemon back. Weepinbell tries to attack back but suddenly freezes in place
"Weepinbell what's wrong!" James asks concerned
Weepinbell clenches it's eyes shut and tries to force itself to move forward but can't
"Why isn't Weepinbell moving?" Ash asks Brock confused
"It must have gotten paralyzed by Secret Power." Brock explains
"Let's finish this up Oddish! Use Bullet Seed!" Misty yells and Oddish fires the attack hitting Weepinbell and knocking it unconscious
"Weepinbell is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Misty!" The referee yells
"It can't be!" James yells
Jessie and Meowth sigh, "It was fun while it lasted."
"Vileplume is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Alex!" The referee yells
"Woo! Way to go Alex!" Ash cheers
Alex heads over to stand next to Misty
"And with that we have the final two contestants: Alex and Misty!" The Announcer yells
Alex and Misty cheer and high five...before remembering that they're mad at each other and turning their backs on each other
"We will take a ten minute break before we proceed!"
Ash,Brock,Alex,Misty and Pikachu are sitting at one of the Pokemon Centre tables. Their Pokemon are being healed up by Nurse Joy
"You two have been fighting all day. Could you just let bygones be bygones?" Brock pleads causing them both to huff
"Come on Misty you already got back at him." Ash pleads
"Until my hair is back to normal I will not forgive him." Misty replies
"Alex?" Ash asks
"She has permanently damaged my baseball bat. You know this was a gift right?" He tells her
Ash and Brock sigh
"Our only option is to let them vent during the battle." Brock whispers to Ash
"We will now proceed with the Final round of the HopHopHop Town Grass type tournament!" The Announcer yells
"It's still a stupid name." Alex mumbles to himself as he steps into the Red corner. "Go Parasect!"
Parasect!
"Go Oddish!" Misty yells
Oddish!
"The Red trainer has chosen a Parasect! The Green trainer has chosen an Oddish! Battle begin!" The referee yells
"Oddish use Bullet Seed!" Misty yells
Oddish fires the seeds and hits Parasect knocking her back
"Parasect counter with Slash!" Alex yells
Parasect rushes forward and slashes Oddish with her pincer. Oddish is knocked to the ground
Oddish!
"Now use Fury Cutter!"
Parasect's pincer starts glowing and it stabs Oddish
Oddish!
Parasect then smacks Oddish sending him flying across the battlefield
"Oddish use Acid!"
Oddish spits some acid out of his mouth and hits Parasect in her eyes
Parasect!
Parasect thrashes around in pain and her eyes start watering
"Ooh that's gotta burn!" The Announcer yells
"Parasect are you alright?" Alex asks
Parasect blinks rapidly, trying to clear her vision
"Oddish use Toxic!" Misty yells and Oddish spits out a stream of purple liquid which hits Parasect. A purple hue appears on her face
Para...sect...
"It seems Parasect has been poisoned! Do Misty and Oddish have their battle won?" The Announcer asks
"Crap. We have to up our game." Alex mutters to himself
Ash,Brock and Pikachu are watching anxiously from the crowd
"I don't know who to root for." Ash says to Brock
"Just cheer them both on." Brock replies
"Parasect use X-Scissor!" Alex yells
Parasect rushes towards Oddish. Oddish dives to the side to try and avoid Parasect but the Mushroom Pokemon quickly pivots and slashes her pincers in an X-shape. Oddish is knocked back by the attack. Parasect then flinches in pain from the poison
"It looks like the poison might be getting worse!" The Announcer shouts, "Does Parasect have enough strength to keep fighting?"
Parasect responds by slashing at Oddish
Oddish!
"Oddish use Razor Leaf!" Misty yells
Oddish flicks some leaves from his head which scratch up Parasect
"Parasect Bullet Seed!" Alex yells and Parasect fires the seed. Oddish is knocked backwards by the attack and Parasect charges towards him
"Now X-Scissor!"
Parasect crosses her pincers together slashing Oddish
Oddish!
"Oddish no!" Misty yells
Oddish slams into the ground and faints
"Oddish is unable to battle! The winner of the match-" The referee starts shouting when Parasect suddenly faints causing the crowd to gasp
"-is Alex!" The referee yells
The crowd starts cheering
"What a turn of events! Had Oddish just managed to last a few more seconds him and Misty would have won! As it stands though the winner of the HopHopHop Grass type tournament is Alex and Parasect!" The Announcer shouts into his microphone
Misty and Alex return their Pokemon. The Announcer walks over to Alex and offers him the Grass symbol
"Congratulations Alex. I present to you the Grass symbol."
Alex takes the symbol, "Thank you."
"That was great!" Ash yells from the crowd
Alex walks over to Misty and offers her his hand. She stares at him for a few seconds before shaking it
"I'm still mad at you." She replies
"Back at you." Alex replies
The next day the group are overlooking a map
"So where are we headed next?" Ash asks Brock
"Fuchsia City seems like a good stop. Not only is there a Pokemon Gym there but we can visit the Safari Zone." Brock replies
"I heard you can find Dratini there." Misty says excitedly
"Dratini! Alright let's get going!" Ash hops to his feet
"I'm dissapointed in you Andrew." Andrew is talking to Giovanni on the video phone
"It was those imbeciles Jessie and James' fault sir." Andrew replies angrily
"I will not accept excuses. You were put in charge of the mission and therefore any failure is your doing." Giovanni replies
"Yes sir." Andrew replies
"I am however a forgiving man, so I have another mission for you. Have you heard of the Safari Zone?"

Me: Finally. This chapter was a pain to write. I've found that I really struggle to write interesting battle scenes with Grass type Pokemon. I probably won't do any other Grass type tournaments anytime soon. The next chapter might take a little while as well cause I'm doing three different episodes in one chapter.
