Misty: Moving on...
Ash: Magnemite, Diglett and the P1 Grand Prix!
It has been a few days since the Pokegang departed HopHopHop Town. By this point in time Misty's hair has gone back to normal. Alex has also covered up the carving on his baseball bat. The group have reached Gringey City late at night.
"What's with all the pollution?" Ash says confused as he looks at all the smoke in the sky
"Gringey City is infamous for all the factories operating." Brock replies
Alex glances at the water which is a dark colour, "Man even the water's polluted."
"I don't like this place. I think we should leave first chance we get." Misty says
"Agreed." Everyone replies
Pika...chu...
Pikachu suddenly falls over
"Ah Pikachu!" Ash tries to pick up Pikachu when he is suddenly shocked, "Ahhhhh!"
"Ash!" Everyone yells shocked
Pika..pi..
Pikachu staggers around
"What's wrong Pikachu?" Ash asks concerned
Pi...ka...
"He doesn't look good. We better get him to a Pokemon Centre immediately." Brock says concerned
Ash takes out the rubber gloves his mom gave him and puts them on. He picks up Pikachu, "Don't worry Pikachu I'll get you to the Pokemon Centre."
The group rush towards the Pokemon Centre. The lights for the Centre are turned off. They burst through the door and rush towards the front desk. Ash starts frantically hitting the bell
"Hello! We need help! Hello!"
The door behind the desk opens and Nurse Joy walks out. She looks tired
"Do you know what time it is?" She yawns, "You should be asleep."
"I'm sorry but there's something wrong with my Pikachu!" Ash exclaims frantically
Nurse Joy glances at Pikachu, "A cold."
"A cold! He can barely even stand!" Ash yells at her
"Relax. You see those sparks coming out of your Pikachu's cheeks?"
Pikachu's cheeks spark in response
"Those are early symptoms of a cold in electric type Pokemon. All your Pikachu needs is some rest and it'll be fine. Chansey!"
Chansey walks into the lobby with a stretcher. She puts Pikachu on it and carries him off to the back
"Can I go back to bed now?" Nurse Joy asks
"Uh actually Nurse Joy could we get a room for the night?" Misty asks
"Sure sure." She replies
"And can we check our Pokemon in?" Alex asks
"Fine. Chansey will come fetch them." Nurse Joy replies apathetically
"Excuse me miss but do you happen to be the odd ball in your family?" Ash asks
"Actually it's all my other relatives that are odd." Nurse Joy replies
"That's concerning." Ash mutters
There are two workers on duty at the hydroelectric powerplant. The generators suddenly stop working.
"Hey Philip there's something wrong with the generators." Dick exclaims
"We better get down there and fix it. Otherwise the town's gonna be without power." Philip replies
They exit the room and are suddenly attacked by something
"Ah!"
Nurse Joy and Chansey are watching over some sick Pokemon. They're all resting inside of pods. The power to the Pokemon Centre suddenly shuts off
"Oh no! Chansey quick get the generators running!" Joy tells Chansey panicked
Chansey! Chansey!
"You're right they haven't been repaired yet! This is bad." Joy says worried
Ash, Alex, Misty and Brock enter the room
"What's wrong Nurse Joy?" Brock asks concerned
"Yeah and what happened to the power?" Ash asks
"I don't know but if it doesn't come back on..." Nurse Joy looks over at the sick Pokemon
"Maybe there's something wrong at the powerplant?" Alex suggests
"Well then we have to go check it out!" Ash exclaims determined
"But Ash we don't know the first thing about running a powerplant. What are we gonna do?" Misty asks worried
"We have to try something. For the Pokemon." Ash replies
The four of them rush towards the exit
Pikapi!
Ash stops and turns around. He sees Pikachu staring at him
"Stay here Pikachu. You need to rest." Ash replies and they rush off
The Pokegang have stopped at the Police station. Officer Jenny is on the phone
"I'm sorry but I can't reach anyone at the powerplant." Jenny says worried
"Something must have happened." Ash says
"What does the powerplant look like?" Misty asks
"You can't miss it. It's the big building over there." Jenny points ahead
"Alright let's go." Ash says and they're about to run off when they hear rustling in the bushes
Pika...pi
Pikachu stumbles out of the bushes and heads towards Ash
"Pikachu what are you doing here! I told you to stay at the Pokemon Centre!" Ash says worried
Pikachu shakes his head
Pikachu...Pipi..Pika Chu
"But Pikachu you're sick. You need to go back." Ash replies concerned
Pikachu...
"I think Pikachu's scared we might leave him and not come back." Misty says
"I'd never do that!" Ash yells
Chu...
Pikachu stares up at Ash with big round eyes
"Alright you can come along." Ash caves, "Just remember you've got to take it easy."
Pikachu!
Pikachu hops into Ash's arms happily...and accidentally electrocutes him
"Ahhhhhhhhh!"
The group are walking through the powerplant. The place is almost pitch-black
"I don't see anyone" Alex looks around
"Yeah where are all the workers? Shouldn't they be trying to get the power back on?" Brock asks
"What if something happened to them." Misty suggests terrified
Ash stops walking and looks at the building layout on the wall
"There's the control room. That's probably our best bet for getting the power back on." Ash says
"Then let's get going. We don't have much time." Alex says and they carry on down the hall. However something is following them
The group are walking down the dark hallway. Misty glances around her nervously. The mysterious creature following them pops up right behind her startling her
"Something's following us!" She exclaims terrified causing the others to stop. They all look back but there's nothing there
"The place is deserted. There's nobody here." Alex tells her
"I know I heard something back there." Misty replies terrified
"It's ok if you're a total Torchic. The rest of us are brave enough to handle this." Alex says in a condescending tone
"I'm not a Torchic! But I know there was something back there!" Misty yells at him
"Ok ok. Let's just focus on getting the power back on." Brock steps in
The mysterious creature suddenly flies past them
"Ahhhh!" Alex, Brock and Misty scream
"What? Did you guys see something?" Ash asks confused having missed the whole thing
"There was something right there..." Misty points ahead of them
Ash gulps, "Alright listen up. If anybody's there you can come on out!" He shouts into the darkness
"Unless you're a monster then you can stay right there and we won't bother you." Alex adds quickly
"And you call me a Torchic! You're a total coward!" Misty yells at him
"Maybe not a total coward." Alex replies sheepishly
The creature pops up behind Pikachu
Pika! Pika! Pika! Pikachu!
"Quiet Pikachu." Ash says softly as they continue staring ahead. Pikachu understandably does not listen to this command and continues screaming for his life
"Pikachu I told you-" They turn around, "Ahhhhhh!"
Magnemite
"It's just a Magnemite." Alex deadpans
"Well now I just feel embarrassed." Misty replies
Ash takes out his Pokedex and scans Magnemite
Magnemite the Magnet Pokemon. An Electric/Steel type. Magnemite attaches itself to power lines to feed on electricity. If your house has a power outage, check your circuit breakers. You may find a large number of this Pokémon clinging to the breaker box. Magnemite evolves into Magneton by merging with two other Magnemite. Magnemite are Genderless
While Ash was doing this Magnemite keeps on circling Pikachu

"I guess we now know what caused the power outage." Ash says
"I don't know. How could one Magnemite knock out power for the entire city." Brock ponders
"Maybe it's not alone?" Misty suggest, "Maybe there's more of them."
Alex is observing Magnemite intently
"Alex what are you thinking?" Misty asks, "Do you have an idea?"
"Yeah. I'm gonna catch it." Alex replies causing Misty to hit him
"You're starting to sound like Ash!"
"I'm standing right here you know." Ash adds
"Is it just me or does that Magnemite seem a little obsessed with Pikachu." Brock says
"Now that you mention it. It hasn't stopped circling Pikachu once." Ash says
Magnemite Magnemite
Pikachu steps back a little uncomfortable. He sparks a little causing Magnemite to get closer
"It's obvious. Magnemite must be in love." Misty says
" 'Love!' " Ash yells shocked
"But how? Magnemite are inorganic Pokemon while Pikachu is an animal Pokemon. It shouldn't find Pikachu attractive in anyway." Brock says confused
"Love works in mysterious ways." Misty replies
"Hmm I need to observe this. This could be a breakthrough in Breeder studies." Brock replies
"Hey we need to keep this kid friendly remember." Alex butts in
While they have been having this conversation, poor Pikachu has been trying to get away from Magnemite who can't seem to take the hint
"Magnemite is following Pikachu around like some kind of streaker." Ash says causing his friends to stare at him
"You mean stalker." Misty corrects him
Pikachu hugs Ash's leg. Magnemite floats towards them
"Cut it out!" Ash yells
Magnemite suddenly widens it's eye and floats away
"Dammit Ash why did you scare it off!" Alex says angrily
"I'm sorry but it was upsetting Pikachu!" Ash yells back. Then he sniffs the air, "Hey do you guys smell that?"
Everyone else sniffs the air
"Oh that smells bad. Where is that coming from?" Alex asks confused
"Mew I think it's getting stronger!" Misty covers her nose
A vent falls off the ceiling from behind them. They looks back startled and a Grimer falls out
Grimer!
Then another Grimer appears
"It's Grimer!" Brock yells and covers his nose. Ash, Alex and Pikachu follow suit
More Grimer start appearing
"There's a lot of them!"
Ash takes out his Pokedex and scans Grimer
Grimer the Sludge Pokemon. A Poison type. Appears in filthy areas. Thrives by sucking up polluted sludge that is pumped out of factories. Grimer evolves into Muk. This Grimer is Female
"The Grimer must have been drawn here from all the pollution." Brock realizes
"I don't care how they got here I just want them to go away!" Misty yells
The Grimer start advancing on them
"Oh the smell's getting worse!" Ash yells
Grimer!
The Grimer look offended
"Ash don't insult their Pokemon pride." Brock lectures him
"Oh sorry. What I meant to say was that you emit such a lovely aroma that truly blesses the senses." Ash replies
"Wow where did you learn all those words?" Alex asks him
"Erika." Ash replies
"You're all crazy! This is one of the worst smells ever!" Misty yells
Grimer!
Muk!
A Muk looms above the Grimer who all look ready to attack
"Run!" Ash yells and they dash down the hall
"Why did you have to open your mouth!" Alex yells
"I couldn't breathe through my nose!" Misty yells back
They see a door in front of them
"Through there!" Ash yells and they rush into the control room. Dick and Philip are hiding inside
"Quick close the door!" Dick yells
Brock slams the door shut and presses his back to it
"I don't know if I can keep it closed forever." Brock says
"What are you kids doing here?" Philip asks confused
"We came to investigate why the power was out." Alex answers
"We need to get it back on for the Pokemon in the Pokemon Centre." Ash adds
"We tried. All those Grimer blocked up the water flowing into the generators. We went to try and clear it out but we got attacked. We've been stuck in here ever since." Dick answers
"Ah!" Brock suddenly flies past them
"Brock!"
The door has been knocked wide open and the Grimer flood into the room
"Oh no!" Philip yells
"What are we gonna do!" Misty yells frightened
"We can send out our Pokemon." Ash reaches for his pokeballs but touches empty air, "Oh no! We left them at the Pokemon Centre!"
"We're doomed." Alex says
The Grimer swarm them...
Pikachu!
And are knocked back by Pikachu's Thunderbolt
"Pikachu you saved us!" Ash yells
Pika
The Grimer get back to their feet
"I think you spoke too soon Ash." Brock says
Pikachu sparks his cheeks and fires another Thunderbolt hitting a Grimer
Grimer!
He fires another Thunderbolt, and another, and another
Pi...
Pikachu falls to the ground
"Pikachu! There's just too many of them." Ash says concerned
The vent in the control room is suddenly knocked off and Magnemite flies into the room
"It's Magnemite!" Ash shouts surprised
A bunch of Magneton also pop out of the vent
"What are those?" Ash asks confused
"Those are Magneton. They must be friends of our stalker." Brock answers
The Magneton use Discharge striking all the Grimer. The Sludge Pokemon turn and make a run for it while the Magneton give chase. The Grimer rush to a vent that leads into the ocean. A bunch of Grimer have blocked the vent preventing water from flowing in. When they see the Magneton they make a run for it allowing the water to flow again
"The water is flowing again!" Philip shouts relieved
The generators start working and the power comes back on
"We did it!" Ash cheers
"We didn't do anything Ash. It was all thanks to Magnemite and Magneton." Misty corrects him
Muk!
"Ah!" They realize that the Muk is still in the room
Pikachu gets back to his feet and fires a Thunderbolt at Muk but it shrugs the attack off
"It's too powerful!" Ash yells worried
Magnemite suddenly floats next to Pikachu
Magnemite
The two Pokemon fire their attacks hitting Muk
Mukkkkkkk!
Muk collapses to the ground and Ash tosses a pokeball which sucks Muk in
wiggle wiggle wiggle ping
"Alright I caught Muk!" Ash cheers and lifts up his pokeball...then he covers his nose, "Eww! The smell seeps through the pokeball!"
Pika
Ash looks down and sees that Pikachu is looking much better
"Oh Pikachu you're not sick anymore!" Ash shouts happily
Pikachu!
"Your Pikachu must have built up too much electricity in its body and magnetized itself. It often seems like it has a cold in that case." Dick explains
"And by attacking those Grimer and Muk it let out all that excess electricity." Philip explains
"That's great. I'm glad to see you're better Pikachu." Ash says
Pika Pika
Magnemite floats around Pikachu who is now more friendly towards it
Pika!
Magnemite turns away from Pikachu and ignores him
Pika?
"What's up with it now? Earlier it was obsessed with Pikachu?" Ash asks confused
"Maybe it was just attracted to the magnetism and not Pikachu itself?" Brock suggests, "And once Pikachu discharged all of his excess electricity Magnemite lost interest."
A pokeball suddenly hits Magnemite sucking it in. Everyone gasps
wiggle wiggle ping
"Yes!" Alex pumps his fist. He then notices everyone staring at him, "What?"
Ash watches as Muk's pokeball is transferred
"There. I'm sure Professor Oak will be happy when he sees I caught another Pokemon." Ash says to Pikachu
Pikachu...(I'm not so sure...)
"It's been quite some time since Ash sent me a Pokemon. I wonder what it is." Professor Oak says as he receives Ash's pokeball. He opens it and Muk pops out
Mu Mu Mu Muk!
"A Muk! Why would he send me that!" Oak yells
Muk dives on top of Professor Oak
"Ah! Krabby get help!"
The Pokegang are travelling along Route 17 in order to get to Fuchsia City. They are currently walking through a forest path
"I can't wait to challenge the Fuchsia City gym leader! How much further are we Brock?" Ash asks
Brock examines the map, "According to the map the gym is just over that mountain."
"Ah Brock which mountain?" Misty says and gestures at all the mountains around them
"Hmm" Brock examines the map closely, "That one." He looks up, "It should be right over there."
He realizes that the direction he pointed at is the only path without a mountain, "Huh that's weird."
Alex glances at the map, "Brock this isn't our map."
"What? What are you talking about Alex?" Brock asks confused
"This is one of the fake treasure maps from HopHopHop Town."
"I thought it was weird that Fuchsia City was marked with an X." Brock scratches his chin
"Wait you mean we've been following a fake map this whole time!" Misty almost screams, "We're lost again!"
"Don't worry Misty. I'll just get the actual map out from my bag." Brock digs through his bag. He gulps, "Don't panic but the map is gone."
"You lost the map!" Misty yells at him
"Now now I didn't lose it. I know exactly what happened to it." Brock corrects her
"Well?"
"I uh...accidentally grabbed the wrong map when I was flirting with this girl at the Pokemon Centre." Brock answers nervously
Misty tries to attack Brock but Ash, Alex and Pikachu hold her back
"Calm down Misty. We'll just follow the path and see where it takes us." Alex tells her
"Yeah surely we'll find something." Ash replies
Team Rocket meanwhile are preparing to eat lunch. James and Jessie have set up the picnic blanket and laid out all the food while Meowth is doing sit-ups
"Hmm I can't wait to dig into this curry." Jessie says excitedly
"And this tea smells heavenly." James says
"Nothing for me-owth. I have to get my workout in." Meowth tells them
"Work that body." They reply
There is suddenly a loud explosion causing a tremor
"Ahhhh!"
The Pokegang are also effected by the sudden tremor
"Ahhhh!"
It quickly passes though
"What the hell was that?" Alex asks confused
All of Team Rocket's food has been thrown around. They stare at the food devastated
"Why?" Jessie and James ask miserably
"I wonder what dat was?" Meowth asks
"I think it came from that direction." Ash says and they rush towards it. They come across a road with a bunch of trucks driving along it. All the way towards an unfinished dam. A part of the mountain nearby explodes
Team Rocket have snuck over to see what's going on
"This place looks like a battlezone." Jessie comments
"Maybe we're being attacked by aliens from another planet." James says
"What planet are you from?" Jessie replies
The ground beneath one of the trucks suddenly cracks and the truck is toppled over directly onto another truck. The Pokegang and Team Rocket watch horrified as the trucks behind them are also caught in the wreck
Diglett Dig Diglett Dig
Pikachu looks around confused, having been the only one to hear that
Pika?
A Diglett pops out of the ground right in front of Pikachu
Diglett!
Pika!
Diglett!
Diglett pops back down into the hole
One of the workers gets out of the trucks and collapses to his knees in despair
"I just can't take it anymore!" He smacks his fists against the ground angrily. The Pokegang rush over to him concerned
"Are you alright?" Ash asks
"It's the Diglett!" The man screams, "They're destroying everything!"
"The Diglett?" Ash asks confused
"See right over there!" The man points ahead where a bunch of Diglett are popping in and out of the ground

"Oh how cute." Misty says
"You think they're cute!" The man screams, "Thanks to them we can't finish building the dam! I hate Diglett I hate them!"
Ash takes out his pokedex to check out Diglett
Diglett the Mole Pokemon. A Ground type. Lives about one yard underground where it feeds on plant roots. It sometimes appears above ground. Diglett evolves into Dugtrio
"Oh so this is what Dugtrio evolved from." Ash says
"Hmm." Brock picks up Dugtrio's ball and examines it
"The Diglett keep ruining the roads and preventing our trucks from getting supplies to the construction site." The foreman says depressed, "Without them we will never be able to finish the great Gaiva Dam"
Another chunk of the mountain is blown up
"Is that what's causing the blasting?" Alex asks
"Yes!" The foreman yells, "Not that it matters with the Diglett around. That's why I put out a call for any Pokemon trainers nearby to come and rid us of this Diglett pest. The reward is a seven day stay at the famous Gaiva Hot Springs Resort."
"I have never heard of that place before in my life." Alex replies
"We happen to be Pokemon trainers but-" Ash starts saying before the foreman interrupts him
"You're Pokemon trainers! You must be the first squad sent to aid us!"
"Well no but-"
A car suddenly pulls up behind them
"The first Pokemon trainer has arrived." A familiar voice says causing Ash, Alex and Misty's eyes to widen. They spin around and see Gary and his cheerleaders
"The rest are in these buses." Gary gestures to a bunch of buses behind them
"It's Gary!" Ash shouts surprised
"Huh do I...oh if isn't Ashy and his friends!" Gary hops out of his car, "What are you doing here?"
"I uh-"
"It must just be a coincidence since only the best trainers were invited. Trainers like me, the Great Gary Oak, the number one trainer from the town of Pallet. Ash there is fourth."
"I'm fourth!" Ash yells shocked
"Oh cool I guess I'm third." Alex says causing Misty to tug on his ear, "Ahh!"
"You're fourth from Pallet but as a Pokemon trainer you're dead last." Gary replies
"That's it!" Ash tries to rush at Gary but Brock holds him back
"It's not worth it Ash." Brock tries to calm him down
"So Ash have you caught any new Pokemon?" Gary asks
"Uh yeah do you want to see?" Ash asks
"No thanks. Only amateurs show off their Pokemon. If I was going to show off anything it would be my personal fanclub." He gestures towards his cheerleaders
"Gary Oak! Gary Oak! He comes through when others Choke!"
"Are they Pokemon?" Ash asks causing Brock to hit him
"Don't be dumb! So who are the girls?" Brock asks Gary
"Oh they're just some friends of mine." Gary replies, "Do I know you from somewhere?"
"You battled me at the Pewter Gym but that's not important. Hey how would you lovely young ladies like to get together with me sometime?"
"Yes sir!" The cheerleaders respond causing Brock's face to fall
"Sir?" Brock asks devastated before Misty grabs him by his ear and drags him away. Alex groans annoyed
"You have interesting friends Alex." Gary says to him
"Tell me about it." Alex replies
"Can we please get back to the business at hand!" The foreman yells, "Someone has to get rid of these Diglett! Don't forget a resort vacation!"
"Don't sweat it. Now that I'm here the Diglett will be dealt with in no time at all." Gary replies
"You're just as cocky as ever." Alex says
"It's justified. I haven't lost a single Pokemon battle yet." Gary tells him smugly, "How about you?"
Both Alex and Ash look away embarrassed
"I thought so. Now sit back and watch as I Gary Oak save the day. Let's go girls!" Him and his girls hop into the car and drive off. The buses follow behind him. Ash and Alex glare ahead
"I understand now." Brock says
Pikachu
Team Rocket were eavesdropping on the whole conversation
"Did you hear that James?" Jessie asks
"Yes. That Gary Oak sure is rude." James replies
"Not that part! The part about the free resort." Jessie tells him
"Yeah. If we can clear out all da Diglett we'll get to stay in those hot springs for free." Meowth says
"But how are we gonna do that when our only Pokemon are Ekans, Koffing, Seaking and Weepinbell?" James asks
"I guess you're right." Jessie slumps over depressed. Then she gets an idea, "There's always induced evolution."
"You're right Jessie. But should we?" James asks
"Hmm perhaps not. Or perhaps." The two sit there in thought. Meowth sighs
"This might take awhile."
All the Pokemon trainers have been gathered at the construction site. Pikachu is currently resting on Ash's head
"We greatly appreciate all of you coming here to help solve the Diglett crisis." The foreman yells through a megaphone
Ash glances around at all the trainers, "There sure are a lot of people here."
"You! Kid with the Pikachu! Pay attention!" The foreman yells
Ash glances down at the ground depressed, "At the very least he could yell at me by name..."
Misty places her hand on Ash's shoulder, "Don't be upset. He doesn't know what your name is."
"My name is Ash Ketchum. The loser from Pallet." Ash hunches over and groans into his arms
"Don't listen to Gary. You can still catch up." Mist reassures him, "Right Alex?"
She notices Alex is missing
"Where is Alex?" Misty asks confused
"Uh over there." Brock points to the side. Misty turns and sees Alex talking to Gary
"Yeah a wild Electabuzz jumped me and scratched it up badly." Alex shows Gary his baseball bat, "I had to do some repairs and that's the best I could do."
"Hey the random blob of paint gives it character." Gary replies and the two chuckle. Misty suddenly grabs Alex by his ear and drags him away
"Oww Oww Oww."
She drags him over to Ash and Brock
"What was that for?" He rubs his sore ear
"You're not allowed to hang out with the enemy." Misty replies
"Gary's the enemy?" Alex asks confused
"As long he keeps putting down Ash he is." Misty replies
"Hey I hate that he does that more than Ash does, but he asked me about my baseball bat, I can't just ignore him." Alex defends himself, "If you hadn't scratched it up then there wouldn't have even been a conversation."
Misty glares at him causing him to gulp, "Butit'stotallymyfaultandI'mreallysorry."
"And that's the situation." The foreman finishes, "This Bug-type Pokemon is the greatest threat of the whole century."
"Wait a minute." Gary interrupts, "Diglett isn't a Bug-type. It's a Ground type. And the correct term to refer to one is The Mole Pokemon. Diglett are also hardly the greatest anything. In fact other than their incredible digging speeds they are rather below-average at best."
"That show-off thinks he knows everything." Ash mutters angrily
"They may seem weak individually but together Diglett are capable of great destruction." The foreman tells everyone
The ground suddenly starts shaking
"It's the Diglett!" The foreman yells
Cracks start forming in the ground and the parked buses nearby start collapsing. The Diglett start popping out of holes all around the area
Diglett Dig Diglett Dig Diglett!
"I'll take care of this." Gary steps forward and pulls out his pokeball
Gary's cheerleaders start cheerleading
"Gary doesn't dig those Diglett oh!"
"They're so beautiful." Brock says in lovestruck mode
"They're really annoying me." Alex replies
"Everyone watch as Gary Oak future Pokemon Master solves the Diglett problem!" He kisses his pokeball and throws it, "Go Wartortle!"
The pokeball opens and the red energy appears...and then suddenly returns to the pokeball which plops to the ground uselessly
"What?" Gary asks confused
Everyone watches confused. A Diglett picks up the pokeball and carries it back to Gary
"Oh thank you." Gary picks up the pokeball, "Ah wait!"
He prepares to throw his pokeball again, "Alright this time you'll see. Go Wartortle!" He tosses the pokeball but once again his Pokemon doesn't come out
"What gives!" Gary yells confused
The other Pokemon trainers start throwing their pokeballs as well but none of their Pokemon come out either
"None of the Pokemon are listening?" Brock says confused
"Let me try. Go Magnemite!" Alex tosses his pokeball but Magnemite doesn't pop out. "Hmm alright I'll try a different Pokemon. Charmeleon go!"
But Charmeleon also doesn't pop out, "That's strange. Charmeleon always listens to me."
"Please somebody stop them!" The foreman yells, "Stop the Diglett!"
The Diglett start returning everyone's Pokeballs
"At least they're polite." Misty says
"And unstoppable." Alex adds
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash yells
Pikachu shakes his head
"Huh. You won't do it?" Ash asks confused

"Is something the matter?"
Pikachu nods
"The Pokemon won't come out." Gary tells Ash, "They don't want to battle the Diglett for some reason, but I can't figure it out."
The foreman suddenly grabs a hammer and starts trying to hit the Diglett. However they keep popping back into their holes and then popping back out
"That won't work." Gary says, "Diglett move way too fast."
Gary shakes his head, "There's no point in staying here. If the Pokemon won't obey then there's nothing we can do. I suggest you leave soon Ash, assuming you don't want to fall further behind."
Ash growls at him. Gary hops into his car with his cheerleaders, "Smell ya later Ashy!" And they drive off
"Girls wait!" Brock tries to chase after the car but Misty and Alex hold him back
"Give it up Brock." Misty tells him
Ash looks back at the foreman who is still chasing the Diglett
"I wonder what's wrong?"
"I have an idea. Dugtrio go!" Brock tosses his pokeball and Dugtrio pops out

"Dugtrio could you follow the Diglett into the mountains. See if you can find out what's going on here?" Brock asks

Dugtrio dives underground and heads off
"Dugtrio will get to the bottom of this." Brock says
"Well what do we do in the meantime?" Misty asks
Alex picks up the free tickets for the Gaiva Hot Springs Resort, "I guess we win by default."
Team Rocket have spent the whole day debating whether they should try and evolve Ekans and Koffing. It's now late at night and they're still going
"It may be our only chance." James says
"Yeah but listen to this." Jessie reads a passage from a book, "When a Pokemon finally does evolve, they become completely different Pokemon."
Jessie and James look over at Ekans and Koffing
"I've known Ekans for so long." Jessie says
"Koffing too." James says
"How could we ever evolve them?" The two start crying and hug their Pokemon. Ekans and Koffing start crying as well. Suddenly the two of them start glowing
"Huh? What's going on?" James asks confused
"It seems they have decided that their time to evolve is right now." Meowth says
Ash, Alex, Misty, Brock and Pikachu are hanging out in the hotsprings
"I don't think wearing a swimsuit in a hotspring is a good idea." Alex says
"If we're sharing then you're wearing." Misty replies
"Fine but don't complain when your swimsuit is too small to fit." Alex replies
"I'm pretty sure that's a myth Alex." Ash tells him
Dugtrio suddenly pops out of the ground near them
"Jenny! Joy! Suzie! Did you find anything out?" Brock asks them
Dugtrio nods

Dugtrio leads the Pokegang further into the mountains. They pass a bunch of trees and come across an open area. A bunch of Diglett and Dugtrio are there
"Wow look all of them." Misty says surprised
"This must be their home." Alex says
They see that a bunch of Dugtrio are plowing through the ground. The Diglett then plant small trees on the plowed dirt
"They have their own routine." Ash says amazed
Brock looks around, "I bet the Diglett and Dugtrio planted the trees across this whole mountain range."
"It's like their own garden." Misty says
"And if we finish the dam..." Everyone turns and sees the foreman had followed them, "This whole forest would be flooded by water."
He looks around the area, "Nothing could live here."
"Well except maybe the Water Pokemon." Alex shrugs
"Not the point Alex." Misty tells him
"All of our Pokemon must have figured it out and that's why they didn't want to battle." Brock says

"Hang on now!" They suddenly hear a voice

"That is a surprise." Alex admits

Arbok the Cobra Pokemon. A Poison type. The pattern on its belly appears to be a frightening face. Weak foes will flee just at the sight of the pattern. Arbok is the evolved form of Ekans. This Arbok is Male
Weezing the Poison Gas Pokemon. A Poison type. Weezing alternately shrinks and inflates its twin bodies to mix together toxic gases inside. The more the gases are mixed, the more powerful the toxins become. The Pokémon also becomes more putrid. Weezing is the evolved form of Koffing. This Weezing is Male
"It does kind of look like a face." Ash says
"It's freaky." Misty says
"I think it looks awesome." Alex replies
"Alright Pikachu use Thunderbolt!" Ash yells and Pikachu prepares to fire
"Not this time twerp! Arbok use Scary Face!" Jessie yells and Arbok straightens to it's full height. Pikachu stares up at the patterns on it's belly

Pikachu rushes behind Ash terrified
"Yeah that is scary!" Ash stammers
"I'll handle this. Go Magnemite!" Alex tosses his pokeball and Magnemite pops out

"Weezing use Smokescreen!" James yells

Weezing breathes out the smoke blocking Magnemite's vision
"Magnemite use Lock-On!" Alex yells
Magnemite's eye glows red and it places a target on Weezing
"Alright now use Thunder Shock!" Alex yells
Magnemite prepares to fire the Thunder Shock when Arbok suddenly leaps on it

Arbok bites Magnemite who faints instantly
"What?" Alex yells shocked
"Woah they have gotten stronger." Misty says stunned
"My turn. Go Dugtrio!" Brock points ahead and Dugtrio dives under the ground. It rushes towards Arbok and Weezing
"Arbok Dig!" Jessie yells and Arbok dives under the ground
"Now Weezing use Smog in that hole!" James yells and Weezing breathes out the Smog. Dugtrio pops out from the ground struggling to breath. Arbok then leaps out from behind it
"Dugtrio look out!" Brock yells
Arbok slams into Dugtrio knocking it out
"Oh no!" Brock yells
Misty grabs a pokeball, "Alright I'll go. Go Star-"
Psyduck suddenly pops out of it's pokeball

"This is surprisingly easy Jessie." James says
"Yeah we're actually doing quite well." Jessie admits
"Alright let's finish things up and swipe da Pokemon!" Meowth yells

Everyone stops battling out of confusion. They look around but there's no sign of the Diglett and Dugtrio anywhere

The ground around them suddenly starts shaking
"What's going on!" They yell terrified and hug each other
The ground underneath them is ripped up and they're carried away by all the Diglett and Dugtrio
"Help!" Team Rocket yell
The Diglett and Dugtrio head directly for the dam
"Ah it's the dam!" Jessie yells
"Maybe it'll hold?" James suggest
Diglett and Dugtrio rush right into it causing the whole thing to fall apart
"Ahhhh!"
"That looked like it hurt." Alex says
"Those guys never seem to catch a break." Ash says
"And they never learn their lesson." Misty adds
"Well I learned mine." The foreman says
"So I guess our stay wasn't a waste after all." Ash says
"There's still one problem." Alex says
"What is it?" Ash asks
"We still have no clue where Fuchsia City is." Alex reminds them
"Oh I can help. Just follow that road. It leads directly to Fuchsia City." The foreman says
"Oh thank you so much." Ash says excitedly
a teenage girl is spying on a Hitmonchan from behind a tree. The Hitmonchan is busy training in the middle of the road
"Wow look at that." She hears a voice and ducks behind cover. Ash, Alex, Misty, Brock and Pikachu approach the Hitmonchan. Ash pulls out his Pokedex and scans it
Hitmonchan the Punching Pokemon. A Fighting type. Hitmonchan is said to possess the spirit of a boxer who had been working toward a world championship. This Pokémon has an indomitable spirit and will never give up in the face of adversity. Hitmonchan is the evolved form of Tyrogue. Hitmonchan are male
"Oh yeah I remember fighting one of these at Sensei Kiyo's dojo." Alex says, "It's called the Fighting Machine because of how powerful it's punches are."
"I definitely want one. How about it Pikachu, you want to go one on one with Hitmonchan?" Ash asks excitedly
Pikachu imagines fighting Hitmonchan in a boxing match. It ends with Pikachu knocked unconscious and Hitmonchan celebrating his win

"Oh don't be like that Pikachu. I'll teach you my secret punch." Ash gets down on his knee and starts demonstrating to Pikachu. Everyone else just watches confused
"What is he doing?" Misty asks confused
"Apparently Ash is a boxing expert now." Brock replies
"He has no clue what he's talking about." Alex tells them
"I don't see this ending well." Brock says
Ash pulls out some tiny boxing gloves and puts them on Pikachu's paws, "Go show em what you're made of buddy!"

Hitmonchan has been minding his own business, just trying to train in peace when Pikachu steps up to challenge it

Hitmonchan scoffs and ignores the rodent
"Don't let it disrespect you like that Pikachu!" Ash yells
Pikachu rushes forward and starts trying to punch Hitmonchan...who literally just holds Pikachu back by resting his fist against the mouse's head

"Hitmonchan is completely no-selling Pikachu's offense." Alex comments
"This isn't a wrestling match Alex. Keep your sports straight." Misty chides him
"We have our secret weapon! Pikachu use the Rocket Punch!" Ash yells
Pikachu sparks up his fists and goes flying through the air. He punches Hitmonchan in the face knocking the Pokemon backwards. Pikachu lands on the ground and raises his fist triumphantly

Pikachu looks up and sees he barely grazed Hitmonchan, literally just bruising his cheek a little bit

"How many times do I got to tell you this!" They hear a voice and a man rushes over to them
"You have to keep your guard up." The man tells Hitmonchan who nods, "Now let's finish off that Pikachu."
Pikachu's eyes widen in fear as Hitmonchan approaches him
Ash is cradling poor Pikachu's broken body
"It's all my fault! I never should have sent you out before you were ready!"
"Well that's the match. I declare Hitmonchan the winner!" The man raises Hitmonchan's arm
Alex,Misty and Brock are just watching the whole thing dumbfounded
"So who's this guy?" Alex asks confused
"Daddy!" The girl watching from behind the tree suddenly rushes out
"And who's she!" Alex shouts confused
"The girl of my dreams." Brock replies
"Not this again." Misty groans
"Rebecca? What are you doing here?" The man asks confused
"Please come home daddy." Rebecca begs
"I can't. Not until Hitmonchan and I win the P1 Grand Prix." The man replies
"But daddy-"
"Go home to your mother." The man tells her. Him and Hitmonchan turn and walk down the road leaving her there alone. She stares ahead sadly
"Can I be of assistance?" Brock startles her
"Ahhh!"
"Oh nice going Brock." Alex says annoyed
"Forgive me! I merely wanted to offer you my aid." Brock begs Rebecca
"I'm sorry. I don't really leave home too often." Rebecca explains
"Was that man your father?" Brock asks
"Yes. His name is Anthony and he's a big fan of Fighting type Pokemon." Rebecca explains
"He mentioned the P1 Grand Prix. What is that?" Misty asks
"The P1 is a yearly tournament for Fighting type Pokemon. The winner of the tournament is declared the P1 Champion." Rebecca explains
"So I'm assuming your father is training that Hitmonchan to enter the tournament." Alex states
"Yes. Every year my father enters the P1 Grand Prix but he never wins. It's become an obsession for him." Rebecca explains sadly, "He's so obsessed that him and Hitmonchan left home months ago and my mother hasn't seen him since. I tracked him down to try and convince him to come home but I failed."
"I'm sorry. Allow me to comfort you." Brock says
"Maybe...could you enter the P1 Grand Prix and defeat my father?" Rebecca asks
"Of course!" Brock replies
"What?" Everyone else yells confused
"Oh thank you so much...um what's your name?" Rebecca asks
"I'm Brock. These are my friends Ash, Alex and Misty."
"Uh Brock I don't want to burst your bubble but you don't own a Fighting type." Misty points out
"It's fine. I'll enter Geodude." Brock tells them
"But..."
"No more questions!"
Alex shakes his head, "I may as well enter Machop. It's been itching for some action."
"And I can use Primeape." Ash says
"Are you sure that's a good idea Ash? Remember the last time you used Primeape?" Misty asks him
Ash thinks back to his gym battle against Erika, "I'm sure it'll be fine. Primeape and I have really bonded since then."
"Uh huh." Misty replies unconvinced
"Oh thank you so much. I'm certain once my father loses he'll come right home." Rebecca says
Team Rocket are spying on them
"A tournament huh. Perhaps we should enter Jessie?" James suggests
"Yes. I'm sure winning that championship comes with lots of prize money." Jessie says
"One problem though. Neither of you own any Fighting type Pokemon." Meowth points out
"He's right." James slumps over depressed
"None of that! We'll just have to steal one!" Jessie exclaims determined
Ash, Alex and Brock are registering for the P1 Grand Prix
"So you are entering a Geodude?" The woman at the front desk asks
"Yes mam." Brock replies
"Into a fighting type tournament?"
"Yes mam."
"They don't pay me enough for this." The woman replies and registers Brock
Team Rocket are undercover, they're looking for a good Pokemon to steal
"Look at that one." James points at a Hitmonlee who is following a giant man dressed in a big coat
"Perfect." Jessie replies
The Giant and his Hitmonlee head into the restroom
"Alright let's move in."
All the contestants for the P1 Grand Prix are crowded in the ring. The arena stands are full. Ash is standing with Primeape, Alex is standing with Machop, Brock is standing with Geodude, Anthony is standing with Hitmonchan, and "Giant" is standing with Hitmonlee
"Jessie why do you get to be on top?" James asks from underneath the coat
"There is no way I'm letting you sit on my shoulders." Jessie replies
"But you're heavy." James replies causing Jessie's face to turn red in anger. She starts choking him with her legs
"Welcome to the Pokemon Number One Grand Prix!" The announcer yells, "We have many great fighting Pokemon entering!"
Ash glances around at the opposition
"There are a lot." Ash mutters. He glances over at "Giant" and "his" Hitmonlee, "What's that?"
"That's a Hitmonlee. I also fought one at the dojo. It's called the Kicking Fiend because of it's powerful kicks." Alex explains
Machop! Machop!
Alex glances down and sees his Machop striking poses
"We have some familiar trainers in the ring such as Anthony and his powerful Hitmonchan!" The Announcer yells and the crowd cheers
"As well as Giant and his speedy Hitmonlee!"
The crowd also cheer for that
"They love us Jess." James says excitedly
"They'll love us even more after we win." Jessie replies
"And then there are plenty of newcomers like Brock and his...Geodude?" The Announcer yells confused
The crowd mumbles confused. Misty shakes her head, "He can be just as dumb as Ash sometimes."
Pikachu nods in agreement
"And now we have our first match. Machop, corned by his trainer Alex, will be taking on Primeape, corned by his trainer Ash!" The Announcer yells
"I'm not losing this time Alex!" Ash yells
"Don't be so overconfident Ash." Alex replies
Machop is striking poses
Machop! Machop!
"Machop what are you doing?" Alex asks confused
The crowd is cheering at Machop's antics
"I guess it's working." Alex mutters confused
The bell rings. However neither Pokemon goes on the attack. Machop continues playing to the crowd while Primeape is fuming

Primeape suddenly charges towards Machop
"Machop look out!" Alex yells
Machop suddenly spins around and chops Primeape
Primeape!
Primeape is sent flying across the ring and slams into the turnbuckle hard
"Ah Primeape!" Ash yells
"And it looks like Machop has the advantage!" The Announcer yells
Primeape gets to it's feet
"Machop is quite strong so you can't just rush in like that Primeape." Ash explains
Primeape responds by punching Ash
"Ah!"
It then charges back at Machop
"Oh no I was afraid this would happen." Misty mutters
"What do you mean?" Rebecca asks
"Primeape never listens to Ash."
Primeape continues trying to attack Machop but the Superpower Pokemon easily overpowers it
"Yeah you show that monkey!" Alex yells
"Primeape you have to listen to me!" Ash yells
Primeape leaps into the air and tries to kick Machop but it catches Primeape's foot. It starts spinning Primeape around
"And Machop has Primeape right where it wants it!" The Announcer yells
"Alright toss it Machop!" Alex yells and Machop throws Primeape through the air. It flies over the top rope and heads straight towards the ground
"Primeape!" Ash yells and leaps in the way catching it
"An amazing catch by Ketchum!" The Announcer yells, "But now the count begins. If Primeape does not get back into the ring before a count of ten it automatically loses this match!"
Machop has gone back to posing in the middle of the ring
"Are you alright Primeape?" Ash asks
Primeape stares up at Ash stunned. It starts tearing up

"I'm glad. Now let's get back in and win this!"

Primeape nods and leaps back into the ring
"And the match is back on!" The Announcer yells
"It won't be for much longer! Machop use Dynamic Punch!" Alex yells
Machop's fist starts glowing and it rushes towards Primeape
"Primeape dodge and use Scratch!" Ash yells
Primeape dives out of the way of Machop's attack. It then scratches Machop's face

"Wow that's amazing." Misty says surprised, "Primeape's actually listening!"
"Oh now it decides to listen." Alex says frustrated
"Now jump into the air and use Mega Kick!" Ash yells
Primeape jumps into the air and it's foot starts glowing. It kicks Machop in the face

Machop is knocked out
"Come on!" Alex yells
"The winner of the match is Primeape!" The Announcer yells
"Woo we did it Primeape!" Ash cheers

"That Primeape is really tough." Anthony says to Hitmonchan

"Our next match is Hitmonlee, corned by Giant, vs Geodude, corned by Brock!" The Announcer yells
The bell rings. Brock turns towards the crowd and waves at Rebecca, "Hi Rebecca! Don't worry everything's under control!"
"Brock behind you!" Rebecca yells
Brock turns back towards the ring confused only for Geodude to be thrown into him
"Ahhh!" Brock is knocked to the floor
Geodude...
Hitmonlee lowers his leg
"This won't take very long." Jessie says smugly
"Geodude...this time hit Hitmonlee" Brock rubs his head
Geodude flies back into the ring. It tries to punch Hitmonlee but the Kicking Fiend jumps backwards. He then starts kicking at Geodude who raises it arm to block. However Hitmonlee is moving extremely fast and Geodude struggles to block all the strikes. It starts getting pummeled
"Ah Geodude!" Brock yells out
Anthony steps next to Brock. He is holding a towel, "If you're a real man then you know when you have to accept defeat. You can lose today and win tomorrow."
He offers Brock the towel, Brock nods and tosses it into the ring
"And Brock throws in the towel! The winner of the match is Hitmonlee!" The Announcer yells
"Alright!" Jessie cheers

Brock picks up the injured Geodude, "I'm sorry Geodude"

"You don't have to apologize. You gave it your best shot." Brock says
"Well I guess it's up to you now Ash." Alex says
"Yep. Primeape and I can manage." Ash replies
Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Primeape make quick work of their opponents as they advance through the tournament. All three of them reach the Final four. Primeape is currently battling a Machamp. It leaps onto Machamp's face and scratches it repeatedly. Machamp falls to the ground knocked out
"Primeape wins!" The announcer
Misty hops to her feet and cheers, "Hooray!"
Pikachu and Rebecca both look up at her stunned
"And now Hitmonchan, corned by last year's runner-up Anthony, will take on Hitmonlee, corned by Giant. These two Pokemon belong to the same evolutionary family so you can bet this will be intense!" The Announcer yells
Hitmonlee is busy doing stretches while Hitmonchan is practicing his punches
"That Hitmonchan is tough." Jessie whispers to James
"Don't worry Jessie. Meowth has a plan to help us win." James whispers back
Meowth is hiding underneath the ring. He's cut a small hole into the ring and has placed a tube of glue into it
The bell rings and the two Hitmons rush at each other. They start performing their signature attacks on each other. Hitmonlee is using his legs to try and keep Hitmonchan at a distance but Hitmonchan bobs and weaves
"Yeah just like that Hitmonchan! Remember our training!" Anthony yells
Hitmonchan dodges a kick from Hitmonlee and punches him square in the face. Hitmonlee is sent flying into the corner
"Ah!" Jessie yells
Hitmonchan moves to attack when he suddenly steps into a small puddle of glue
Hitmonchan?
He tries to move his foot but it's stuck
"Nothing like some super duper Rocket glue." Meowth laughs to himself
"Hitmonchan look out!" Anthony yells
Hitmonlee leaps across the ring and kicks Hitmonchan directly in the face
Hitmonchan!
Hitmonlee starts pummeling Hitmonchan with it's quick kicks
"And it seems Hitmonlee is getting the better of Hitmonchan!" The Announcer yells
Anthony clenches his fists, "Hitmonchan get out of there and refocus!"
But Hitmonchan is getting absolutely destroyed
"Hitmonchan can't take much more of this!" Brock yells, "Anthony you need to throw in the towel!"
Anthony shakes his head
"Anthony!" Brock yells
"We worked too hard to give up now!" Anthony yells
The force of Hitmonlee's kicks are so strong that Hitmonchan is knocked across the ring and into the corner. He crumbles to the ground

"Now finish it off Hitmonlee!" Jessie yells
Hitmonlee winds up a powerful kick and leaps towards Hitmonchan
"Stop!" Rebecca suddenly gets into the ring, "Don't hurt my father's Pokemon!"
"Rebecca!" Anthony hops in front of her. Hitmonlee's attack hits him
"Ah!" Anthony is thrown across the ring
"Daddy!" Rebecca yells
Ash, Alex and Brock watch shocked. The crowd gasps
Rebecca and Hitmonchan run over to check on Anthony. He is clutching his arm
"Are you hurt Rebecca?" He asks concerned. She shakes her head
"That's good." Hitmonchan helps him to his feet. He grabs the towel around his neck and tosses it to the ground, "I forfeit."
The bell rings and the crowd cheers
"Anthony throws in the towel! Hitmonlee is the winner!" The Announcer yells
Hitmonchan and Rebecca help Anthony out of the ring
"I'm sorry Rebecca." Anthony says, "I've been so obsessed with training these last few months that I've been neglecting you and your mother. I promise from now on I'll focus more on my family."
Rebecca hugs him
"That's nice." Ash says
"Focus Ash." Alex interrupts, "You're taking on Hitmonlee in the finals."
"Yeah one more battle and you and Primeape become the champion." Brock says
"Don't bet on it!" "Giant" yells at them
They turn towards "Giant" and gasp in shock
"It's Jessie!" They yell
"Yes and you can kiss that championship goodbye." Jessie tells them
James pops his head out, "Yeah we're taking that belt and then heading straight to the buffet table."
Jessie rips the coat off. The crowd gasps in shock
"It appears Giant was actually a woman sitting on a man's shoulders!" The Announcer yells shocked
James is struggling at this point to keep standing
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
James: To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: To extend our reach to the sta... ugh... I can't take it!
Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!
James starts sinking to his knees
James: Surrender now... surrender now... or prepare to... prepare to fuhuhu!
James fully collapses to the floor and starts crying, Jessie stares down at him embarrassed
"Uh we're not finished yet."
She hops off James and he hops to his feet
"As I was saying you can kiss that championship goodbye." Jessie says
"Yeah and you can bet your buffet table on that." James says
"Shouldn't there be some kind of rule in place here?" Alex asks confused, "I mean you guys impersonated someone..."
"There are no rules against it!" The Announcer yells
"Wonderful." Alex replies sarcastically
"What about Hitmonlee?" Anthony asks, "I know Giant and I know that's not your Pokemon. He won't agree to fight for you!"
Hitmonlee shrugs
Hitmonlee(I just want to win)
"There seems to be no objections and so the final round can proceed!" The Announcer yells
Hitmonlee and Primeape are preparing to battle. Jessie and James are standing in Hitmonlee's corner while Ash, Alex, Brock, Anthony, Hitmonchan, Rebecca, Misty and Pikachu are standing in Primeape's corner. The bell rings and the two Pokemon rush at each other. Hitmonlee starts kicking at Primeape rapidly. Primeape uses his fists to block Hitmonlee's attacks. However Hitmonlee is slowly pushing Primeape backwards
"Primeape you can't just defend!" Ash yells
Primeape is knocked backwards
"Primeape!" Ash yells
Primeape lands on his feet and shakes his head. He starts hopping around angrily
"Primeape?" Ash asks
Primeape! Primeape!
"It's about to Thrash!" Brock yells
Primeape pounds it's chest and rushes towards Hitmonlee. Hitmonlee starts kicking again but Primeape completely shrugs off the attacks and dives onto Hitmonlee
Hitmonlee!
"And Primeape has gone into a rage! When Primeape starts thrashing almost nothing can stop it!" The Announcer yells
"Yeah Primeape! Keep it up!" Ash yells
"We're losing!" Jessie yells
"Our buffet table!" James yells
Meowth crawls out from underneath the ring
"Don't worry about it." Meowth says, "I've placed a special surprise under the ring just in case."
"You have?" James asks
"Yes. A little box hooked up to this remote here. Just get Hitmonlee to leap off the ground and I'll press the button. Primeape will be struck with a jolt of electricity." Meowth explains
"That's brilliant Meowth." Jessie says
Pikachu is revealed to be eavesdropping on them
Pika
Pikachu crawls underneath the ring
"You've got this Primeape!" Ash yells
Hitmonlee manages to knock Primeape off
"Hitmonlee jump into the air!" Jessie yells
Hitmonlee leaps into the air and Meowth presses the button...nothing happens
"What?" Meowth yells confused
Hitmonlee stretches out his leg and moves to attack Primeape...However Primeape grabs it's foot
Hitmonlee!
"Now Seismic Toss!" Ash yells
Primeape starts spinning Hitmonlee around
Leeeeee!
Primeape leaps into the air and lets go of Hitmonlee who is sent flying
Hitmonleeeeee!
Hitmonlee slams into the ground outside of the ring
Lee...
He faints
"Hitmonlee is unable to battle! The winner of the match is Primeape!" The Announcer yells
The crowd burst into cheers
"Woohoo! We did it Primeape!" Ash rushes into the ring and hugs Primeape, "You're the new P1 Champion!"
Primeape!
"What happened Meowth?" Jessie asks angrily
"Yeah you cost us our buffet table!" James yells
"I don't know. I swear it was working earlier." Meowth defends himself
Pikachu
Pikachu walks over and hands Meowth the box
"Oh here it is. Thank you." Meowth replies. Jessie and James however start backing away slowly
Pika Pika
Pikachu fires a Thunder Shock hitting the box...which proceeds to explode and blow Team Rocket out of the building
"We're blasting off again!"
Primeape has been presented with the P1 Championship belt. Him and Ash are celebrating in the ring
"Ladies and gentlemen your new P1 Champion: Primeape!" The Announcer yells
The crowd cheer loudly. Anthony, who has his arm in a sling, gets into the ring. He offers his hand to Ash
"Congratulations Ash and Primeape."
Ash shakes his hand, "Thanks a lot Anthony."
"Your Primeape there is real championship material. How about you let me train it for a little while?" Anthony asks
"Really?" Ash asks surprised
"I promise to make it into the best champion it could be." Anthony responds
Ash glances over at Primeape conflicted, "Sorry Anthony but I'd much rather train Primeape myself."
"I completely understand." Anthony says
The Pokegang depart from the P1 arena and continue their journey to Fuchsia City
"So how does it feel being a famous celebrity now?" Misty asks teasingly
"I think people care more about Primeape than me." Ash admits
"Hey there's no shame in living on someone else's fame." Alex responds, "Just ask Gary."
All of them laugh

Me: And there we go. So Ash keeps Primeape in the end. I was originally planning on having Primeape leave with Anthony at the end to train and then have it come back at a later point, but I changed my mind because I couldn't really think of a good reason why Ash would agree to it other than maybe having Primeape lose the tournament. Well that's that. Stay tuned for the next chapter where we finally reach Fuchsia Gym
