pokemonking0924-I admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the Safari Zone episode so I'm not planning on adapting it 100% I'm gonna include parts of it but I'm adding my own spin to it. I hope you enjoy it still
Ash: The Ninja Poke-Showdown!
The Pokegang have been travelling along the mountainous road of Route 18. They have currently stopped near a waterfall to relax and let all their Pokemon out
Machop is busy regaling some of the Pokemon about his legendary battle in the P1 Grand Prix
Machop Machop! Chop chop Machop! Mama ma chop Machop!(And Hitmonchan threw a punch but thanks to the power of the crowd I easily shrugged it off! I shook my finger at him and told him "That don't work for the Machop-man brother!" And I knocked him out!)
Char Charmander(Wow that's amazing)
Squirtle Squirtle(I don't buy it)
Gyarados, Goldeen, Horsea, Starmie, Staryu and Tentacool are all in the water. Goldeen is playing with Horsea while the other Pokemon just relax
"Horsea seems happy to have a big place to swim." Brock notes as he brushes Vulpix's tails
"Yeah it must get boring being stuck in a pokeball all the time." Misty says
She glances at Psyduck who has stuck his head underneath the waterfall
"Psyduck cold water can make a headache worse." Misty says
Psyduck looks over at her
Psy?
Misty sighs, "Oh sometimes just staring at that dopey look gives me a headache."
"You should be nicer to Psyduck." Brock says, "It clearly loves you alot."
Misty glances over at Vulpix who is sleeping peacefully on Brock's lap as he grooms her
"Hey Brock how about you and I trade. I'll take Vulpix and you can get Psyduck?" Misty suggests hopefully, "It won't take much time to brush because it only has three hairs."
"No way." Brock replies
Misty glances over at Alex who is feeding Vaporeon
"Hey Alex-"
"Don't even think about it." Alex tells her
Vaporeon nuzzles against Alex's hand
Misty sighs, "I guess I'm stuck with you."
Psy aye aye
"Alright guys come on. We're so close to Fuchsia City I can feel it." Ash says excitedly
The group carry along through the mountains. They are currently crossing a wooden bridge. Ash glances around and notices a giant mansion on the other side
"Hey what's that?" Ash asks curiously
"Let's go check it out." Alex says
"I don't know. Should we really trespass in some strange building in the middle of the mountains?" Brock asks
"Maybe whoever lives there could point us towards Fuchsia City." Misty suggests
The group head towards the mansion
"Wow this place is huge." Ash says as they enter the courtyard
They look around at all the buildings. They look ancient but well-maintained
"I didn't know old buildings like this still existed." Brock says
They approach the biggest building and Ash slides the door open
"Hello? We're looking for directions to Fuchsia City!" Ash yells
"Ash you can't just barge into someone's house and yell like that." Misty says annoyed, "You have to ask more politely."
"Oh right." Ash replies, "Excuse me could you please direct us to Fuchsia City?"
There is no reply
"Hmm. Perhaps this place is deserted." Brock says
Alex leans against a wall...which suddenly opens
"Ah!" Alex falls to the other side and the wall swings shut
"Alex?" Ash asks confused
"What happened? Where did Alex go?" Misty asks concerned
"He's gone." Ash says confused
Brock inspects the wall, "Guys this is a secret door."
"What do you mean?" Ash asks
"When you touch the wall..." Brock bangs his fist against the wall which swings open, "It opens."
Alex is sitting on the other side rubbing his butt, "I think I might have broke something."
Ash helps Alex to his feet
"What kind of crazy place is this?" Misty asks
"It's definitely not your run of the mill mansion." Brock replies
Pikachu
Pikachu points ahead at a Venonat who is watching them.
"Bug!" Misty screams and ducks behind Ash. She grips his shoulders tightly
"That looks cool." Ash takes out his Pokedex and scans it
Venonat the Insect Pokemon. A Bug/Poison type. Its large eyes act as radars. In a bright place, you can see that they are clusters of many tiny eyes. Venonat evolves into Venomoth. This Venonat is Male
"Look at all those eyes. It's so gross!" Misty yells, "Make it go away!"
Venonat suddenly runs past them
"Thank you!" Misty yells
"Wait up!" Ash suddenly chases after the Venonat, dragging Misty along with him
"No no!" Misty yells
Brock, Pikachu and Alex follow them. They chase Venonat through the mansion going around corners. Ash is suddenly shocked out of nowhere
"Ahhhh!" He collapses to the ground, "Pikachu why did you do that!"
Pikachu?
"If it wasn't you then what was it?" Ash glances down and sees that there's a Voltorb hiding underneath the floor
Voltorb
Ash takes out his Pokedex and scans it
Voltorb the Ball Pokemon. An Electric type. It is said to camouflage itself as a Poké Ball. It will self-destruct with very little stimulus. Voltorb evolves into Electrode. Voltorb are Genderless
"Did that say these things self-destruct?" Misty asks nervously
Voltorb starts glowing
"Run for it!" They dash down the hallway and up a staircase
"I think we lost it." Brock says
"Yeah but we also lost Venonat." Alex says
Misty glances around the room and screeches. Venonat is staring at them from down the hallway
"There it is! Wait up Venonat!" Ash takes off running down the hallway...and runs facefirst into an invisible wall. He collapses to the ground
"Ash what happened?" Brock asks
"Pain...so...much...pain..." Ash groans
Alex bumps the invisible wall with his fist, "There's something here."
Misty helps Ash to his feet while Brock inspects the wall
"Yep there's definitely a wall here. It seems to stretch the whole length. There's no way to get past." Brock says
"Brock this place is giving me the creeps. Let's leave." Misty says
"Yeah you're right we should probably turn back." Brock replies
Misty helps Ash along as they turn and start heading back. Ash suddenly walks right into another invisible wall
"Ahhh!" He collapses to the ground
"I swear there wasn't a wall here originally." Alex says
"I think we've fallen into a trap." Brock says
"A trap?" Misty asks nervously
Pikachu?
"I hope they're not trying to trap us to steal our Pokemon." Brock says
He suddenly bursts into tears, "Because I don't want to lose my Vulpix!"
"There's no time to panic." Alex says. He starts pressing against the wooden wall to the side, "Maybe there's another secret door or something."
The wall suddenly collapses and Alex falls
"Ahhhh!"
"Alex!" Everyone screams
The other side of the wall is a huge drop off the mountain. Ash,Brock,Misty and Pikachu rush over.
"Oh no. He's gone." Brock says sadly
"Alex no!" Ash yells devastated
"Guys I'm still alive!" They hear Alex's voice. They look down and see him clinging onto the wall for dear life, "Now someone get me up already!"
Alex is back on solid ground. He is shaking, "That was traumatic."
Ash and Misty rub his back
"This place is seriously dangerous." Brock says, "We need to find an exit and leave immediately."
The wall on the opposite side suddenly pops open slightly revealing a room on the other side
"Oh look there was a secret door." Misty says
Alex just stares at it blankly
Venonat pops it's head through the door
Venonat
"Venonat! You've been leading us into all these dangerous traps!" Ash yells. He rushes towards it. He shoves the door which spins around trapping him on the other side
"Ahhhh!" The others hear Ash yell
"Ash!" They rush into the room. However there is no sign of Ash
"Where is he?" Misty asks confused
"I'm behind you." Ash says
They turn and see him pinned to the wall by some throwing stars stuck on his clothes
"Please help me." Ash says
They hear a woman laughing
"Do you guys hear that?" Alex asks. They nod in response
A teenage girl leaps out from her hiding spot. She is dressed in a blackish/dark purplish ninja outfit with a bright purple scarf wrapped around her neck. Her hair is also purple
"It's a ninja!" Alex yells
"A beautiful ninja!" Brock yells
"I am the ninja warrior Janine." The ninja replies
"Don't you think that scarf's kinda bright for a ninja?" Misty asks
"I don't need beauty tips from you." Janine replies
"Are you the one who threw those ninja stars?" Alex asks
Janine grins and pulls out a ninja star, "Yep. Did you like it?"
"Are you crazy? You can't just throw ninja stars at people! It's dangerous!" Ash yells
Janine giggles, "Come on it was funny. You should have seen the look on your face. Besides this is a ninja training academy. It's your fault for letting your guard down."
"My fault!" Ash yells
"You four are training to be ninjas right?" Janine asks, "I mean you couldn't have come here otherwise."
Brock suddenly grabs her hand. She stares at him confused
"It was by pure chance that we stumbled upon this place. But clearly destiny planned this as now my love we can finally be together!"
Janine just stares at him stunned
"Could someone help me down please?" Ash asks
Janine is bowing in apology, "I'm so sorry. If I'd known you weren't ninja I would have warned you about all the traps."
"I guess it's technically our fault for trespassing." Ash says sheepishly
"So this is a training school for ninja?" Misty asks
"Yeah my father runs this place." Janine answers, "He's the greatest ninja in the whole world."
"Really? That sounds cool." Alex says
"My goal is to surpass him." Janine says
Brock grabs her hand again, "You may not be the greatest ninja but you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen."
Janine blushes, "Uh thank you?"
Venonat!
Venonat rushes into the room and hops over towards Janine
"It's Venonat!" Ash yells
Janine bends down and rubs Venonat's head
"Does that Venonat belong to you Janine?" Alex asks
"Yep. Venonat's the one who told me that there were intruders sneaking around." Janine explains, "By the way why are you guys here?"
"Oh we were looking for directions to Fuchsia City." Misty explains, "We got lost in the mountains."
"Why do you want to go to Fuchsia City?" Janine asks
"Because I want to challenge the gym leader!" Ash exclaims excitedly
Janine's eyes widen, "Oh really? You think you can beat the Fuchsia City gym leader?"
"Yeah I already got five badges see!" Ash shows off his badges. Janine scoffs
"What?" Ash asks
"The Fuchsia City gym leader is far stronger than any of those Gyms." Janine says
"Wait seriously? Even Sabrina?" Ash asks gesturing at his Marsh Badge
"The Fuchsia gym leader is so good that he was even offered a spot in the Elite Four, but he turned it down." Janine explains
"Wow. He must be good." Alex says
"You don't stand a chance." Janine says
"Oh yeah! I challenge you to a battle!" Ash yells
Janine grins, "I accept."
Janine and Ash are standing a good distance away from each other. Everyone else is watching from the sidelines
"This will be a one-on-one Pokemon battle." Janine explains, "I choose Venonat!"
Venonat hops onto the battlefield
Venonat Venonat
"And I choose Bulbasaur!" Ash tosses his pokeball
Bulbasaur!
"Ash what are you doing!" Misty yells, "Bulbasaur is weak to Bug types!"
"Type advantage isn't everything." Ash says determined, "And I'm gonna prove it. Bulbasaur use Razor Leaf!"
Bulbasaur fires the Razor Leaf at Venonat who dodges by jumping into the air
"Venonat use Supersonic!" Janine yells
Venonnnaattttttt!
The soundwaves fire out hitting Bulbasaur who covers his ears with his vines
Bulbasaur!
Bulbasaur staggers around confused
"Oh no Bulbasaur!" Ash yells
"Now use Bug Bite!" Janine yells
Venonat's teeth glow and it leaps at Bulbasaur biting into it
Bulbasaur!
"Bulbasaur shake it off!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur starts shaking it's head violently and throws Venonat into the air
"Leech Seed now!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur fires a seed out of it's bulb. The seed hits Venonat and a bunch of vines suddenly root from it and surround Venonat. Venonat falls to the ground and struggles to break free. The vines glow sapping Venonat's energy

Janine grinds her teeth together out of frustration
"Now Bulbasaur use Vine Whip!" Ash yells
Bulbasaur's vines shoot out and it smacks Venonat sending it flying across the room
Venonat!
Venonat lands on the ground and the Leech Seed sucks out more energy
"Venonat use-"
A Voltorb suddenly rolls into the middle of the room
"It's Voltorb again!" Misty yells
The Voltorb explodes covering the entire room in smoke
"I can't see anything!" Ash yells
"Sight is often a weakness." They hear a man's voice
A silhouette appears behind Janine. The smoke clears revealing an older man who is also dressed in a ninja outfit. Janine kneels
"Father."
Brock suddenly dashes towards Janine's father
"You're Janine's father! My name's Brock and I would really like if you gave me your blessing to date your dau-"
Janine's father suddenly leaps over Brock. He lands behind Brock and pokes him in the neck. Brock collapses
"Brock!" Ash, Alex and Misty yell shocked
"Never attack an enemy head on." The man says
"He wasn't attacking..." Alex mumbles a little scared
"Now then Janine who are these children?"
"They're Pokemon trainers who have come to challenge the Fuchsia Gym." Janine explains
Her father smirks, "Really? You boy." He points at Ash, "You wish to challenge the Fuchsia Gym leader?"
"Yeah I do!" Ash exclaims determined
"Very well. I am Koga, master ninja, and leader of the Fuchsia Gym."
"What!" Ash, Alex and Misty yell surprised
"So the gym leader was Janine's father the whole time." Misty says
"No wonder she was singing his praises." Alex says
"I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and I already have five badges!" Ash yells
"Hmm I see you possess the Marsh Badge, that must mean you bested Sabrina of Saffron City." Koga states
"Yeah I beat her." Ash answers
"Sabrina is a very tough opponent. I battled her once before and it ended in a draw. I will be honoured to accept your challenge." Koga says
Team Rocket are spying on the mansion from their hot air balloon
"So that's the infamous Fuchsia Ninja Academy." Jessie says
"What's so infamous about it?" James asks
"It's run by Koga,the Fuchsia City gym leader." Meowth explains, "Da guy has quite a reputation."
"Really? I've never heard of him." James says surprised
"He's a master ninja who specializes in Poison type Pokemon." Jessie says, "And some people say not just Pokemon."
"And apparently he is so skilled that he's able to kill you with just the palm of his hand." Meowth explains
"He sounds terrifying! Why are we stealing from this guy!" James asks
"James it's just rumours about a mysterious old man who spends half his time in the mountains. He's probably just some weirdo obsessed with ninjas." Jessie says
"But what isn't rumours is his collection of Poison type Pokemon. Now those are real." Meowth rubs his hands together
Ash and Koga are preparing to battle. Alex,Brock,Misty and Janine are standing on the sidelines
"My neck still tingles a little." Brock says
"Sorry about that. My father can get a bit carried away sometimes." Janine says
"Oh you don't have to apologize. I'm sure I deserved it." Brock tells her in a loving tone
"Boy is he desperate." Alex says
"This will be a two-on-two Pokemon battle. As the gym leader I will send out my Pokemon first. Go Venomoth!" Koga tosses his pokeball and Venomoth appears
"Ahhhh!" Misty hides behind cover, "Not more disgusting bugs!"
Venomoth the Poison Moth Pokemon. A Bug/Poison type. When it attacks, it flaps its large wings violently to scatter its poisonous powder all around. Venomoth is the evolved form of Venonat. This Venomoth is Female
"In that case I choose Pidgeotto!" Ash tosses his pokeball and Pidgeotto pops out
The two Pokemon both flap their wings to keep in the air
"Venomoth Stun Spore." Koga commands and Venomoth flaps it's wings violently. An orange powder is released into the air
"Pidgeotto use Whirlwind to blow it back!" Ash yells
Pidgeotto flaps it's wings creating some strong gusts which blow the Stun Spore back towards Venomoth
"Venomoth use your own Whirlwind." Koga commands
Venomoth creates much stronger gusts of wind which blow the Stun Spore back towards Pidgeotto
Pidgeo!
"Ahh Pidgeotto!" Ash yells
"Now release your Sleep Powder." Koga orders and some blue dust is released from Venomoth's wings
"Pidgeotto fly away!" Ash yells
Pidgeotto tries to flap it's wings to fly but it can't move
Pidgeo!
It breathes in the Sleep Powder and crashes into the ground fast asleep
"Oh no Pidgeotto!" Ash yells
"Finish it Venomoth." Koga orders
Venomoth fires a Psybeam hitting Pidgeotto and fainting it
"Pidgeotto!" Ash yells
"Holy crap." Alex says shocked
"He took Pidgeotto out so quickly." Misty says shocked
Janine nods, "My father does not battle using brute strength. He likes to use trickery and status attacks to overwhelm his opponents."
"You're so wise Janine." Brock says
"Pidgeotto return!" Ash yells. He stares at Koga who is watching the whole battle stoically
Pikachu sparks his cheeks ready to battle
"Sorry Pikachu but I have a different idea." Ash says and grabs his pokeball, "I choose Charmander!"
Char Charmander!
"Alright let's go Charmander!" Alex cheers
Pikachu!
"Charmander use Smokescreen!" Ash yells
Charmander breathes out smoke covering the whole arena
"That's smart! If Koga can't see where Charmander is then him and Venomoth can't attack." Misty says
"Don't be so sure Misty." Janine says
Koga closes his eyes
"Charmander use Flamethrower!" Ash yells
Charmander fires the Flamethrower
"Venomoth fly to the left." Koga commands and Venomoth flies to the side. The Flamethrower fires past where Venomoth was originally
"Did it dodge that?" Ash yells confused, "How!"
"As I said before. Sight is often a weakness." Koga explains, "I do not need to see your Pokemon's attacks because I have trained myself to hear them. Venomoth use Sleep Powder."
Everyone stares at the smoke unable to see what's going on
"Charmander whatever you do don't breathe in the Sleep powder!" Ash yells
There's no answer
"Charmander!" Ash yells
The smoke clears revealing that Charmander is fast asleep
"Oh no Charmander!" Ash yells
"It's over." Janine says
"Venomoth finish it." Koga commands and Venomoth fires the Psybeam
"Charmander wake up!" Ash yells
Charmander's eyes suddenly shoot open and he leaps out of the way
"It woke up!" Janine yells surprised
"Yes way to go Charmander!" Misty yells
"Impressive." Koga says, "But it will not save you a second time. Venomoth use Poison Powder."
Venomoth flies over to Charmander and starts releasing the Poison Powder
"Charmander get out of there!" Ash yells
Charmander tries to run but it's too late. It has already breathed in the Poison powder
Charmander...
The purple hue appears above his nose
"This is bad." Brock says
"Now Venomoth use Psybeam." Koga commands
Venomoth fires up the Psybeam
"Charmander Flamethrower!" Ash yells
Charmander fires a powerful Flamethrower hitting Venomoth before it could fire it's attack. Venomoth is scorched and falls out of the sky
"So much power." Janine says shocked
"Return Venomoth." Koga says
"Nice job Charmander. You just need to beat one more opponent." Ash says
Charmander takes a deep breath and nods
Charmander!
Koga tosses his next pokeball, "I choose Golbat."
Golbat pops out. However it's much smaller for it's species than normal Golbat. It lands on Koga's shoulder
Ash takes out his Pokedex and scans Golbat
Golbat the Bat Pokemon. A Poison/Flying type. Golbat loves to drink the blood of living things. It is particularly active in the pitch black of night. This Pokémon flits around in the night skies, seeking fresh blood. Golbat is the evolved form of Zubat and evolves into Crobat if it possesses a strong bond with it's trainer. This Golbat is Male
"But why is it so small?" Ash asks confused
"My Golbat is unique amongst it's kind. It never fully evolved from Zubat and is therefore unable to evolve into a Crobat. However it still a very dangerous Pokemon. Observe." Koga points at Charmander, "Golbat use Wing Attack."
Golbat takes flight and speeds towards Charmander. It starts flying around Charmander at an incredible speed
"I can barely keep track of it." Alex says
Golbat slams into Charmander repeatedly
Char!
"Charmander quick drive it off with Ember!" Ash yells
Charmander starts wagging it's tail quickly and some flames shoot out hitting Golbat. Golbat flies backwards to avoid them
"Nice job Charmander!" Ash yells
"Golbat use your Screech attack." Koga commands
Golbat makes a horrible sound causing Charmander to cover his ears
Charmander!
"My ears!" Alex yells
Alex,Brock,Misty,Pikachu and Ash are all covering their ears. Koga and Janine do not react at all
Charmander then falls to one knee due to the poison
"Charmander keep fighting! We've almost won!" Ash yells, "Use Flamethrower!"
Charmander fires Flamethrower at Golbat who stops screeching in order to dodge
"Phew much better." Brock says
"What you can't handle a little screaming?" Janine winks at Brock whose face goes red
Charmander continues firing it's Flamethrower at Golbat who is dodging all over the place. Charmander manages to singe it's wing
Golbat!
"Alright now use Fire Spin!" Ash yells
Charmander fires a Fire vortex out of it's mouth which circles Golbat. Golbat tries to fly out of it but gets burned
Golbat!
Ash looks over at Koga but sees that he's still just watching stoically
(Nothing phases this guy!)
"This is our chance Charmander! Finish it off with Flamethrower!" Ash yells
Charmander prepares to fire when it suddenly falls forward
"Charmander!" Ash yells
Charmander slams into the ground
"Oh no." Misty says
"The poison must have finished it." Brock says
"Charmander please get up." Ash begs, "I know you can do it. Just keep fighting."
Charmander clenches his fists together. He forces himself back to his feet
"Look at that!" Misty says amazed
Charmander takes a deep breath and fires a powerful Flamethrower hitting Golbat head on
Golbat!
Golbat slams into the ground and faints
"We did it!" Ash cheers
He runs towards Charmander
Char...
Charmander falls backwards but Ash catches him
"Wow that was impressive." Janine says genuinely surprised
Koga nods his head and returns Golbat
"You did it Charmander. You tried so hard and you won." Ash says
Pika Pika
Char Charmander
Charmander faints
"You deserve a good rest buddy." Ash returns Charmander
Koga approaches Ash, "Congratulations on a hard fought victory."
He pulls out a scroll and unrolls it revealing the Soul Badge on it, "For that I present you this Soul Badge."
Ash takes the Soul Badge, "Thank you." He turns and strikes his pose, "I won the Soul-"
The roof of the mansion suddenly collapses
"What's going on!" Ash yells
Jessie: Prepare for trouble!
James: Make it double!
Jessie: To protect the world from devastation!
James: To unite all peoples within our nation!
Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
James: To extend our reach to the stars above!
Jessie: Jessie!
James: James!
Jessie: Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now or prepare to fight fight fight!
Meowth: Meowth! That's right!
"Now hand over all your precious Poisoneous Pokemon!" Meowth points at Koga
"Forget it Meowth!" Ash yells
Koga watches with a stoic look on his face
"Go Arbok!" Jessie yells
"Go Weezing" James yells
"We can take them Koga!" Ash yells
"There is a slight problem. I only have two Pokemon on me." Koga admits
"What!" Ash yells
"Don't worry I'll battle them." Janine says and tosses her pokeball
Venonat!
"Pikachu you ready?" Ash asks
Pikachu nods and him and Venonat rush towards Arbok and Weezing
"Not so fast!" James suddenly throws some sticky strings at the Pokemon getting them stuck
Pika!
Venonat!
"Oh no!" Ash yells
"They can't move!" Brock yells
Psyduck suddenly pops out of it's pokeball
Psyduck?
"Not now Psyduck!" Misty yells
Psy aye aye
Psyduck steps up to battle
"You want to battle?" Misty asks surprised
Psyduck nods
"Uh alright then...what attacks does Psyduck know?" Misty asks confused
"I'll check the Pokedex." Alex says and pulls out his Pokedex
List of attacks that Psyduck knows: Tail Whip
"Alright Psyduck use Tail Whip!" Misty yells
Psyduck turns around and wags his tail. Everyone just stares confused
Cha-bok?(You feel anything?)
Weezing(Nothing)
"You call that an attack!" Misty yells
"You didn't let the Pokedex finish." Alex says
Tail Whip-The Pokemon does something cute with it's tail to lower it's opponent's defense
"That is so useless." Misty growls, "What other attacks does it know?"
List of attacks that Psyduck knows: Scratch
"Alright! Psyduck use Scratch!" Misty yells
Psyduck raises it's hand and rushes towards Arbok. However before it could attack, Arbok suddenly bites down on it's head
Psyduck!
Psyduck runs off clutching it's head in pain. Everyone is just watching too stunned to react
"Wow. It's kinda pathetic isn't it." Alex says
Koga, who has been slowing inching towards the wall during this whole thing, suddenly pulls a rope. A bunch of Voltorb pop out from the floor
"What are these?" Meowth asks
"It's Voltorb!" James yells and the Voltorb explode covering the entire room in smoke
"Quick in here." Koga leads everyone through a secret passageway.
"Woah I feel unstable all of a sudden." Brock says
"Yes this room is slanted in a way to confuse our enemies." Koga explains
Koga bends down to inspect the strings around Pikachu and Venonat, "Hmm this is high quality. I can get it off but it will take sometime."
Team Rocket suddenly burst into the room
"You're not getting away that easily!" Jessie yells
"Hey Jessie is it just me or does everything seem slightly off balance?" James asks
"Yeah it does feel weird." Meowth admits
"Focus you two! We're not going anywhere until we get all of those Poison Pokemon!" Jessie yells
"You came to the wrong place then. I keep all of my Pokemon stored at the Fuchsia Gym." Koga explains
"I told you we should have tried the gym first!" James says. Jessie smacks him, "Ow!"
"Fine we'll just nab Pikachu and Venonat and make a run for it." Jessie says annoyed
"Not a chance! We still have other Pokemon we can use!" Ash yells
"In that case..." Jessie suddenly throws more string which hits everyone except Koga who leaps out of the way
"I can't move!" Misty yells
"It's too sticky. I can't break loose." Janine says
Koga turns to face Team Rocket, "You willl suffer the consequences for these actions."
"Oh we're so scared." Meowth says, "What are you gonna battle two Pokemon by yourself?"
Arbok and Weezing float in front of Jessie and James protectively. Koga gets into a battle stance when Psyduck suddenly rushes past, "Hmm?"
"Psyduck get out of there!" Misty yells, "You're just gonna get hurt again!"
Psyduck rushes towards Team Rocket to attack again but Arbok and Weezing smack him across his head
Psyduck!
Psyduck falls to the ground crying in pain
"Psyduck..."
"It looks like it's headache is getting worse." Brock says
Psyduck suddenly stops crying and gets to it's feet. It looks much more serious
"What's up with Psyduck all of a sudden?" Ash asks
Psyduck's eyes shine a blue light and psychic energy surrounds Team Rocket
"Ah! I can't move!" James yells
"Me either!" Jessie yells
"Is Psyduck doing that?" Misty asks confused
Ash manages to point his Pokedex at Psyduck
Psyduck the Duck Pokemon. A Water type. It is constantly wracked by a headache. When the headache turns intense, it begins using mysterious powers.
"I can't believe Psyduck has that kind of power." Misty says amazed
Psyduck tilts his head and Team Rocket are suddenly lifted up into the air
"Put us down!" Team Rocket yell terrified
Cha-bok!
Weezing!
"Psyduck send them flying!" Misty yells
Psyduck!
Team Rocket are thrown through the roof of the academy and sent flying through the air
"We're blasting off again!"
Psyduck then uses it's powers to free everyone from the string before collapsing in exhaustion
Psyduck...
"Nice job Psyduck." Misty hugs it, "You saved us."
Psyduck?
Psyduck clutches it's head
"Magnificent. That was quite an impressive display." Koga says
"Yeah that Psyduck is great. I'll trade you for it." Janine offers
"I would be honoured to offer you my Venomoth for it." Koga offers
"No thanks. I wouldn't trade Psyduck for anything." Misty replies
"But Misty just this morning you were trying to give it away?" Ash asks confused
"Don't question it Ash." Brock says
"Now that all the excitement is over." Alex steps forward, "Koga I'd like to challenge you to a gym battle!"
Koga looks over at him, "I would accept but as I mentioned before I do not have any other Pokemon on me besides Venomoth and Golbat."
Alex slumps over depressed
"Father if you'll allow me I can battle in your place?" Janine offers nervously
Koga turns to look at her. He studies her intently, "Very well. You shall substitute for me."
Everyone has moved into the courtyard. Alex and Janine are staring each other down
"This will be a two-on-two Pokemon battle!" Janine yells, "For my first Pokemon I choose Venonat!"
Venonat!
Alex watches the Venonat
"I wonder which Pokemon Alex is going to choose." Ash comments
"Venonat's part Bug so he'll probably choose Charmeleon." Misty says
"Go Gyarados!" Alex yells
"Gyarados!" Misty yells terrified
Rarrrrrr!
"Why Gyarados!" Misty yells
"Gyarados hasn't had much chance to shine yet." Alex replies casually
Venonat shrinks in fear as Gyarados towers over it
"Don't worry Venonat. We can manage." Janine says
"Gyarados use Ice Fang!" Alex yells
Gyarados' teeth freeze over and it lunges at Venonat
"Venonat dodge and use Supersonic!" Janine yells
Venonat jumps out of the way of Gyarados' attack

Gyarados thrashes around
Rarrrrrr!
It smacks Venonat with it's tail
Venonat!
Venonat however quickly recovers
"Alright now use Agility!" Janine yells
Venonat starts running around Gyarados increasing it's speed. Gyarados watches it confused. It tries to attack but just ends up biting it's own tail
Rarrrrrr!
"Gyarados is doing more damage to itself than Venonat." Brock says
"Gyarados listen! Use Splash!" Alex yells
Everyone looks at Alex confused. Gyarados obeys and flops on the ground uselessly
"Oh I get it." Brock says, "That way Gyarados can't hurt itself."
"But it's just giving Venonat time to build up it's speed." Ash says
"Venonat use Poison Fang!" Janine yells
Venonat's teeth start glowing purple and it leaps towards Gyarados...who turns towards it and swallows it
"Ah!" Janine yells
"It ate Venonat!" Ash yell shocked
"I told you something like this would happen!" Misty yells
Alex smirks, "Relax. Gyarados use Hyper Beam!"
Gyarados opens it's mouth firing Hyper Beam and blasting Venonat across the field
"Venonat!" Janine yells
Venonat has fainted
"Nice work Gyarados." Alex says
Gyarados nods...and then it collapses
"Gyarados what's wrong!" Alex yells confused
Gyarados' body turns a shade of purple
"Gyarados has been badly poisoned." Koga speaks up
"It has? When?" Ash asks
"When it trapped Venonat inside of it's mouth. Venonat must have bit it using Poison Fang and inflicted the poison then." Koga explains
"Return Venonat." Janine returns her Pokemon. She looks over at Gyarados and grins, "Not entirely to plan but I'll take what I can get."
"Gyarados are you alright?" Alex asks concerned
Gyarados forces itself up and nods
"Ok." Alex replies
Janine tosses her next pokeball, "Zubat go!"
Zubat!
"She has a Zubat too! We're clearly destined to be together!" Brock says excitedly
Koga suddenly smacks him on the side of his neck
"Owwwww!"
Zubat flaps around Gyarados who watches it wearily
"Don't worry Gyarados. We can take it." Alex says
Gyarados nods weakly
"Gyarados doesn't look too good." Ash says concerned
"I can't believe I actually feel bad for it." Misty says
Pikachu
"Zubat use Astonish!" Janine yells
Zubat speeds towards Gyarados and hisses at it. Gyarados growls back at it
"It didn't even flinch." Janine says shocked
"Gyarados Bite now!" Alex yells
Gyarados tries to bite Zubat but it flies backwards
"Zubat Bite it!" Janine yells
Zubat sinks it's fangs into Gyarados' neck. Gyarados thrashes around in pain
"It's like a vampire!" Alex yells
Gyarados' eyes start drooping. Zubat lets go and Gyarados faints
"Gyarados is out." Brock says
Misty sighs in relief
Alex returns Gyarados, "You did good buddy." He stares at the Zubat and smirks
"I wonder what he's planning?" Ash asks himself
"Hey Janine I have a question for you." Alex says
"What is it?" Janine asks confused
Alex starts twirling his baseball bat around. He grabs his pokeball with his other hand, "Do you believe in fate?"
Everyone watches him confused
"Why are you asking?" Janine asks
"It just so happens that I have the perfect Pokemon to handle your Zubat. And I just so happened to only catch this Pokemon a few days ago. Quite a coincident don't you think?"
"What is he going on about?" Misty asks confused
Alex tosses his pokeball into the air and hits it with his bat. The pokeball flies towards the battlefield and opens, "I choose Magnemite!"
Magnemite
"A Magnemite!" Janine yells shocked
"That's right! Magnemite is part steel type." Misty says, "That means it's completely immune to Poison!"
"Wow." Ash says surprised, "Good thing we stopped at Gringey City huh."
Janine glances at her father nervously. He's been watching the entire battle with the same look on his face
(I mustn't panic.) Janine thinks to herself. (I maybe at a disadvantage but that doesn't mean I can't win)
She turns back towards the battlefield determined, "Let's do this!"
"Magnemite use Thunder Shock!" Alex yells
Magnemite charges up some electricity and releases a weak blast towards Zubat who flies to the side avoiding it
"Zubat use Supersonic!" Janine yells
Zuuuuuuubaaaaaaaat
Magnemite starts flying around in a daze
"Shit that messed with your frequency or whatever didn't it?" Alex asks Magnemite
"Now Bite!" Janine yells
Zubat speeds towards Magnemite and bites it. Magnemite suddenly Discharges some electricity shocking Zubat
Zubat!
Zubat almost falls out of the sky but regains it's balance
"That was close." Janine mutters to herself, "Even confused that Magnemite can still do a lot of damage."
"Magnemite use Lock-On!" Alex yells
Magnemite's eye glows red and it tries to lock onto Zubat but it's too confused to get a straight target

It turns and locks onto Alex
"Uh Magnemite what are you doing?" Alex asks nervously
Magnemite powers up an attack
"Magnemite..." Alex gulps
Magnemite prepares to fire
"Magnemite abort abort!" Alex yells
But Magnemite fires the Thunder Shock
"Ahhhhhhhh!" Alex is shocked
"You know it's kind of funny when it's not me." Ash admits
"Zubat use Quick Attack!" Janine yells
Zubat speeds past slamming into Magnemite
Magnemite!
Alex groans and weakly raises his finger into the air, "Magnemite use...Gyro Ball"
Magnemite's magnets start glowing a blue colour and it starts spinning. It rushes towards Zubat and slams into it knocking Zubat back
"You alright Zubat?" Janine asks
Zubat nods
"Spark!" Alex yells
Magnemite is surrounded by electricity and it slams into Zubat
Zubat!
It drives Zubat into the ground before floating away
Magnemite
"Zubat get back up!" Janine yells
Zubat tries to take flight but suddenly flinches. Little sparks shoot off it
"Crap!" Janine yells
"It's paralyzed! This is your chance Magnemite. Use Charge Beam!"
Electricity builds up on both of Magnemite's magnets. They meet in the middle
"Zubat you have to get out of there!" Janine yells
Zubat takes flight...but it's too late. Magnemite fires the beam of electricity which hits Zubat head on. Zubat screams in pain and faints from the attack
Koga steps forward, "Zubat is unable to battle. The winner of the match is Alex."
"Yes we won!" Alex cheers
Janine looks down at the ground dissapointed
Koga approaches Alex, "Congratulations on your victory. I present to you the Soul Badge."
Alex takes the Soul Badge, "Thank you."
Alex heads over to celebrate with his friends. Janine continues staring at the ground when she feels a hand placed on her shoulder. She looks up and sees her father
"You impressed me today Janine." Koga says, "Your skills as a battler are hastily improving."
Janine's eyes widen, "You mean it?"
"Ofcourse. And one day when you are ready I will allow you to take over as gym leader." Koga says
"Thank you father."
"Fuchsia City is only a day's walk in that direction." Koga points ahead
"Oh thank Mew. I'm getting so tired of all these mountains." Misty says
"What are we going to do in Fuchsia City though?" Ash asks, "I mean we already won our gym battles?"
"Not everything has to revolve around gym battles Ash." Alex says
"You guys could visit the Safari Zone." Janine suggests
"The Safari Zone? What's that?" Ash asks
"It's a special Pokemon preserve that has plenty of rare Pokemon that you can catch. Actually you know what I'll come with you." Janine says excitedly, "I've been meaning to head there for awhile anyway so this works perfectly."
"Yesyesyes we should definitely go." Brock nods his head quickly
"Alright I guess we're heading to the Safari Zone." Misty says

And we're done. So as you can see I replaced Aya with Janine. I personally felt like considering how similar the two of them are and the fact that I had every intention of adding Janine in at some point that I might as well just give her Aya's role. Aya does still exist in the story though I just haven't found a good spot to bring her up.
