"...It's like you're incapable of holding a grudge," Cobra remarked. As he listened in after her explanation he felt pricks of sadness and regret from her, but none of the resentment or hatred that he would normally see in the soul of those who had been wronged, especially to such an extent. It was that same thing he'd heard when he'd first been properly introduced to her as an independent guild member, a sound that still puzzled him.

For a moment, her soul went completely blank. It reminded him of the man from yesterday to such an extent that Cobra almost shook her to make sure she hadn't fainted standing up. Then she looked up at him with a sad smile. "Maybe at one point. After Tartarous though…we all lost a lot in that fight. She's lucky she could come back from it and recover." The words were ones that should have been filled with emotion, but the tone was completely flat. Cobra froze in mid-thought. For some reason, he got the impression that what he'd said was not what he should have.

Before he could muster up the courage to speak again, or perhaps find a hole to bury himself in, an unexpected savior appeared.
