"I think you should see about the one you've met a few times. The other one seems a little, er, preoccupied already," Lucy explained. "Besides, meeting new people could expand your horizons! Sure, it's true that she might not be 'the one' but perhaps a meeting will lead to new possibilities down the line."
"Hmm, that is more along the lines of what I was thinking; it's just hard when I don't really know anything about her. It's true that her appearances have been rather infrequent…"
Jumping on his point before he could finish, Cobra nearly sprang up. "Exactly! There's no telling if you'll ever even see her again! For all you know, she's left town and you'll never see her again and then you'll just be wasting your time trying to find her when someone you already know is right in front of you."
Lucy frowned. "But he doesn't know that. He can't just assume the worst and call it quits before he even tries, that's just setting himself up for failure."
"If it's irresponsible then you're just as bad, if not worse. "He's not setting himself up for failure, he's just being practical. You've only been mentioning the best possible outcomes, possible connections, meetings, and that's assuming he'll ever even see her again. I'm saying the honest truth. And even if he did see her again, he doesn't really know what's behind that pretty face. It could easily be terrible, just as it could be alright."
"Well, I happen to think both of you bring up good points and–" Lyon's interjection faded into the background. The two love doctors on the other side had only eyes and ears for each other; only instead of love, it was irritation that kept them trained on the other.
