"You'll swear on my keys," Lucy replied. She took out a keyring with over a dozen keys attached to it. "So if you break it, I can summon them to beat you to a pulp."
They both chuckled, but Cobra could feel the weight of what that would mean. There would be no running away or backing out. With an earnestness he rarely felt, he placed a hand over the key ring, in doing so placing his hand nearly completely on Lucy's. "I swear on the keys of Lucy Heartfillia that I will make sure we have a talk when this is all over." He paused before adding, "And if I don't, may I get beaten to a pulp by said keys for eternity."
A laugh, a little louder, echoed from her. Lucy put her other hand lightly on top of his. "And I do swear that I will respond…and listen. Lest I ever use these keys again." Cobra looked with a start. This was no small thing Lucy had uttered. Sorano had mentioned (although she wasn't the bastion of it herself) that key contracts were almost sacred to Celestial Mages. If she meant all that… "May this be binding," she concluded, pulling the keys, and her hands, back. Cobra stuffed his into his pockets, trying not to think about how her gentle touch felt.
Lucy smiled. "Ok, I'm all ready. Let's go."
