Once he was a decent distance from the vet, Luiz slowed down to a gentle plod down the street.

"Quick question Luiz," Jewel asked, "how the heck did you get here."

"Well, i'm not really sure myself," he replied, "first i was dancing in that huge metal flower, then a human picked me and called me a very special boy, then they put me in a metal box inside a bigger metal box with wings, waited a bit while the boxes shook about and then he took me out of the metal boxes and now i'm here! Now how did you get here?"

He waited for a reply but none came. He turned to look at Jewel, who was now peacefully sleeping on his back. He looked up at the sky and saw the setting sun.

"Best find a place to sleep," he said to himself, "man, it's cold out here."

He continued to walk down the highstreet until he found a place that looked suitably abandoned. The first place he came across was a small book shop, with a sign that read "Closed 4 a While"

Luiz walked up to the door and pushed against it and was surprised when it swung open easily. He waddled inside and dumped the sleeping Jewel on a chair before finding a pillow and falling asleep as well.

!CRASH!

Jewel woke up with a start. She looked at the pillow she was lying on and her surroundings, unsure of where she was but too tired to really care. She looked around the room and immediately saw two humans standing by the counter.

"Damn it!" one of them hissed, "that damn plant pot."

Jewel looked at the floor by the two humans and saw the shattered remains of a plant pot.

"Don't worry," the other human said, "this place is deserted, the owner's in Rio with their bird. I saw it on the news. Meaning It's perfect for our smuggling operation. Just don't go ransacking the place, you might attract suspicion.. Speaking of that, how's the operation going?"

"It's going flawlessly," the other replied, "we have a bunch of illegal ivory and pelts stashed upstairs and we're due to pick up another set from Rio de janeiro soon. All of this to be smuggled over the canadian border shortly"

"When should we leave for Rio?" they asked.

"In two days, we'll leave at 4 in the morning, meet me just out front of this place," replied the other, "we'll drive to mexico then take a ferry, we need to take the van down there so we can bring back the goods."

Jewel, who was listing to this entire conversation, smiled slyly

"Perfect," she said to herself, "these bozo's will drive me right back to rio, i just need to kill a couple of days."

With that, jewel lay back down on the pillow, comforted by the fact that she would soon be back in Rio where she could leave the urban hell and go live in the jungle with Blu.
