Agent Malcolm walked into the Rangers' base, where he was greeted by Lee and newcomer Geo. "Ah, Agent Malcolm. I assume this is a routine visit.", Lee said.
"Spare me the buttering up, Kent. You know why I'm here.", Malcolm responded, his face all business.
"Right, right, I promised you this for your nephew's birthday, or whatever.", Geo said, taking out a pen and a piece of paper and scrawling a signature onto it.
Agent Malcolm took the paper and put it in his pocket. "Thanks. But I told my superiors I'd be bringing back a status report, so I'll need to bring back some proof that things have changed since Kit joined. The other new Ranger notwithstanding."
"Alright, then you'll probably be wanting Mover to help demonstrate some things.", Lee realised. "Come to think of it, where is Mover? Haven't seen him or Rev for a while."
"M0-VR and R-3V are using the Hyper-Dimensional Road for a private race.", Leo spoke up. "His words were 'A little fun for old times sake'."
"Hey, we can check them out on the monitor then.", Geo realised as everyone went up to the screen, switching it on.
As they could see on the monitor, Mover's Turbo Trailer form was out-speeding Rev, who narrowly pulled up next to his friend. "Looks like we're neck and neck.", the former noted. "Whatever happens next…"
"Is entirely up to luck.", Rev continued. "But let's face it, I'm gonna win this."
They two made it onto a straight road, where Mover took the undisputed lead. But the next part of the course was a fork in the road… one a safe route and the other a dangerous jump. "What? Where'd this come from?", Mover asked as he edged closer to the ramp. But at the last second, he chose to go left down the safer road.
Rev on the other hand continued straight on up the ramp. "Eat my dust, Moe!", he called out. Mover could only look on as Rev landed on the other end of the drop and zoomed on ahead, taking the undisputed lead.
"Whoa, what an upset.", Malcolm cried out.
"And he was so close too.", Lee bemoaned. "Were it not for want of a ramp."
"But on the plus side, my Buddy Rev's winning this race now.", Geo said, excited.
Elsewhere, the Star Kats were loitering in a rich alcove in a town square, with Meowbile having donned a copy of Technorg's goggles carved out of cardboard. "You nincompoops have ruined my perfectly inept plans.", he said, doing a mocking imitation of the Made Monster.
K.P applauded, while Grillion cheered. "You nailed him.", K.P said, as she patter her tiny compatriot's head.
Grillion then got up off the ground. "Sometimes, I think we"d be doing better if we could think up all these evil schemes ourselves.", he suggested. "But what?"
The three were disrupted by a young woman singing as she happily skipped down the stairs, holding her purse in front of her. "I'm in the money. I'm in the money. I've got a lot of what it takes to get along!"
"Mah-nee?", Grillion asked.
"Why would a human want more knees?", Meowbile asked.
"Guys, she was talking about money.", K.P scolded them. "You know, the stuff rich or working class people trade for goods and services."
"Right. It's been so long since I've seen any I forgot the word.", Grillion responded.
"If dat chick has some moolah, den we can follow an' take it for ourselves.", Meowbile suggested.
"Right.", the other two nodded as they got off and tiptoed after the woman.
A few minutes later, the woman entered a building to approach a helpfully labelled ATM machine. "Time to collect on my wages for this week.", she said out loud to herself.
"Oh, that won't be necessary." She turned around to see K.P sneaking up on her, who knocked her card out of her machine with the Overclock Key. "I have an idea on how to weaponise human paydays." She inserted the key into the card reader and turned it.
The woman covered her eyes as she was knocked back onto the stairs. As she opened them again, she saw that the machine had become a humanoid version of itself with moneybag boots, a tire on its chest, the words "Hashiriyan Bank" splattered all over, and a fiery domino mask above its screen. "A! T! M!", he cried out as Grillion, K.P and Meowbile (aided by Robolts) signed the letters. "Now, Paydaze can get to work." He saw that the woman was trying to crawl away. "What's the matter, I thought you wanted to use my service." He then set off, running after her.
As the woman was almost out the door, Paydaze landed in front of her. "Don't hurt me, please.", she begged. "I'm sorry for putting my dirty card in your mouth, but I needed to update my bank balance."
"No need to worry, Miho Hazuta.", Paydaze stated. "I'm going to return your entire balance to you. But first, I need to convert dollars to pounds." He fired a piece of paper at the woman, causing her to collapse onto her front, barely holding herself up. "There, all $297 in your account."
"Ooh, what a fancy ability.", Grillion commented. Then he had an idea. "I've just thought of a good use for this guy."
"I shall devote my Attention Towards your Malevolent scheme.", Paydaze said as he once more signed "ATM" with his arms.
Back at the Rangers' base, Kit walked in to see a down looking Mover, who was being comforted by Lee and Agent Malcolm, while Geo and Rev were doing a victory dance. "What'd I miss?", he asked.
"Those two raced, and Mover ended up losing.", Geo answered him. "Quite badly, I might add, considering he was winning at first."
"It wasn't my fault.", Mover insisted. "It was the damn ramp shortcut. If that hadn't popped up, I would've won."
"You know what, Moe?", Rev asked as he went over to his friend. "You're afraid to take risks. That's the real reason you lost. If you'd taken the ramp like me, you'd have won easily."
"Hey, I take risks all the time, when I go out and act as a Megazord.", Mover insisted. "To the people of this planet, I'm the standard pilot-able Power Rangers robot, but with the ability to talk. But if one of the Mafia dug too deeply, they'd realise who I am and send all their forces to swarm the planet and take me out."
"Okay, but that's basic common sense for a wanted man.", Rev pointed out. "A real risk would be showing your face rather than your battle mode look or any of your 'helmets', for lack of a better term."
"Even if you want to take risks, I think there should still be limits.", Mover pointed out. "After all, you have that Wing Booster. It lets you move at higher speeds than my Acceleration Boost could ever manage."
"Anyway, I think we should let our government liaison do his job.", Lee interjected, breaking up what might be a very ugly argument. "After all, we do have some updates."
"Right.", Mover said, clearing his throat. "Now then Agent, if you'll feast your eyes." He went over to a console and flicked a switched, opening a secret panel to display the Super Hydro Blaster, which was in the process of having several logos applied to it. "We found this a few weeks ago, and we've been working on making it safe to use without overloading. Analysing the data provided allowed us to create Leo."
"And since then, I have been using the knowledge the details of my creation has provided me with to study and understand the workings of the weapon.", Leo spoke up. "At our current rate of progress, we are steps away from neutralising its power overloads."
"And I've consulted with some scientists who have expertise in these areas.", Kit reported. "They haven't come back to me yet, but I have been assured they'll reply."
"Good to know.", Malcolm nodded. "Call me when you finish it and any Zords you might be tempted to make as a bonus for it." He then turned and walked out the door.
After Malcolm had left, everyone stood there in silence for a few seconds, before Lee thought to break the silence. "So, are we working on a Zord to go with the Hydro Boost Ranger powers?"
"No, we don't have any plans as of yet to create one.", Mover answered.
"Why not?", Rev asked.
"I don't know.", Mover answered, before shrugging. "Screw it, let's build one."
Kit got excited. "I'll start drawing up some schematics for combining with our other Zords."
"And I shall work on procuring the necessary parts through shell company purchases.", Leo added. "Construction should hopefully begin within a week."
As Lee smiled, the communicator went off.
It was Bobby on the other end. "Guys, we've got trouble. A new Mafia goon is weighing people down."
At the Drive-In, Anna and George received the message. "We're on our way.", the latter said as they set off.
Within minutes, all 6 had arrived at the scene, to see Paydaze sending people running. "All Targets Moving. Not for long though.", the monster stated as he fired sheets of paper at several people, causing them to collapse. But one - who was scruffier dressed than the others -managed to pull himself up, if only slightly.
"So this creep has the power to make people heavier.", Anna noted. "So he's like, some kind of strength related game machine?"
"No.", George realised. "He's an electronic bank teller."
"Well whatever he is, I'll beat him in a snap.", Geo stated as he took out his Combo Morpher. "Red, Blue, Green, activate! Morph code input!" He then pressed the red button three times, before pulling the nock. "Ready! Set! Log On!" In a few second, he had transformed into the Violet Ranger and was prepping his bow. "Time to break the bank."
He fired a shot that knocked Paydaze forward. "Attack Them, Minions!" Robolts promptly ran forward to fire at Geo, who blocked a shot with his Morpher, before dodging their blows to kick one back, and engaging the group in an acrobatic battle.
"What's the matter? You so afraid of me you only send the Mooks in?", Geo mocked as he successfully kicked or shot the Robolts down.
"Hey, save some of that action for us.", Bobby called out.
"To get some, we'd have to get in there first.", Lee pointed out as he took out his Shift Morpher. "Let's go, guys."
"Right.", the other Rangers said as they took out their Morphers, with all 5 pressing the pedals three times each. "Ready! Set! Morph!" Spinning their wheels and pressing their buttons, the main 5 Rangers were now morphed.
Paydaze stared them down, as the 6 introduced themselves. "Red Booster!"
"Blue Booster!"
"Pink Booster!"
"Black Booster!"
"Orange Booster!"
Then Geo inserted himself before Lee could finish. "Violet Booster!"
"Hey, no butting in.", Anna complained to him.
Geo didn't listen as he finished the roll call by himself. "Let's rev it up, Power Rangers Turbo Boosters!"
Lee and the others hurried to join in. "Turbo Boosters!"
With that ended, George angrily confronted Geo. "If you want to join the roll call, then show up to the rehearsals first."
"It's time that I gave you all fines for interfering with my job.", Paydaze stated as he shot a flurry of his paper sheets at the Rangers, who assumed defensive positions, knocking the projectiles out of the sky.
However, one of them managed to hit Anna right in the faceplate. "Oh no, what's gonna happen now?", she wondered. As if on cue, three large piles of money made of energy fell down and crushed her.
"What did you do to her?", Geo growled as he fired at Paydaze, managing to make him spark.
"Hey, I'm fragile.", Paydaze protested.
"What's so special about this paper?", Bobby asked as he pulled the paper off Anna's face to inspect it himself.
"Wait, he's a bank machine.", George realised. "Anna, how much is in your bank?"
"Only about 100 bucks.", Anna answered. "Why?"
"I think I've figured his powers out.", George said as he went over to Lee. "You need to get out now.",
"Why?", Lee asked.
"This guy doesn't make people heavy. He crushes people under the weight of their wealth.", George explained. "And even without your embassy job, you've got a hefty trust fund in the bank."
"Wait, Lee's absolutely loaded?", Bobby questioned.
"Where do you think the budget for the Ranger gear came from?", Kit asked.
"The point is that Lee getting hit would probably kill him.", George continued as if he hadn't been interrupted.
"And that's not something we'd want to beta-test.", Geo nodded.
"In that case, I'll leave it to you.", Lee said as he turned and ran away from the fight.
"Downsizing due to financial difficulties?", Paydaze asked mockingly. "Well that won't stop you from overdrawing." But he was shot back by the Rangers before he could do anything.
From the side, Technorg observed the scene in front of them. "So the Star Kats managed to create a scenario that not only terrifies the humans about their wealth, but they managed to force the withdrawal of one Ranger. Perhaps I can take advantage of the chaos to work on Project Nibiru." They turned and departed the scene.
At the Ranger base, Mover and Rev were shocked to see Lee return. "Why'd you come back while the monster's still around?", Rev asked.
"This one can make you as heavy as you are wealthy.", was Lee's answer.
"And you're pretty loaded.", Mover concluded. "So you'll be sitting out this fight then."
"Well, it's not all bad.", Lee pointed out. "This gives me time to get some stuff done. Or help you guys do stuff."
"Now that you mention it, I am in need of assistance.", Leo spoke up. "I am creating a backup unit in case of emergency, and need some help with the coding."
"I'll get on it.", Lee said as he moved over to Leo's terminal.
Back in the square, the fight was continuing apace. Paydaze had been successfully pushed back. "You guys are seriously about to kick me into overdraft.", he hissed. "Perhaps you need pennies for your thoughts." He threw coins in his hands at the Rangers, which exploded upon impact to blind the 5. "And now I have some notes for you." He once more fired his notes.
This time, George had a plan ready. "Sorry, Bobby.", he said as he pushed his friend in front of him, with the others getting behind him as a confused Bobby was hit by three of the paper sheets.
"Oh god. Now I'm gonna be crushed under the weight of my finances.", Bobby cried out as he slid onto his back, stretching his limbs out. "Now I can't…" then he realised something. "Move?"
Bobby proceeded to get back up. "That isn't right.", Paydaze noted. "I'm sure that should've added up to your total defeat."
"That would be the case if Bobby had any lasting savings.", George explained. "But due to being fairly new to the police force, he gets paid appropriately, which means he's living paycheque to paycheque."
"Dude!", Bobby said as he tore the sheets of paper off his suit. "Don't announce my financial situation to the monster."
"Don't worry, it won't matter once we beat him.", George said dismissively.
"So, perhaps you can lend me some moths from your wallet.", Geo mockingly suggested. He then inputted a code. "Red, Up, Down, activate! Rapid Fire code, input!" He fired multiple shots at Paydaze knocking him to the floor.
"And now we close the bank.", George said as he switched his Wheel Saber to sword mode.
"Right.", the other 4 said as they prepared their respective weapons for a final attack.
Geo prepared to fire, but George knocked him out of the way to strike first. "Wheel Saber Obstruction Strike!" He drew the "no entry" sign, throwing it into the air, before the others prepared their attacks.
"Steering Stick Strike!"
As the main Rangers unleashed their slash attacks, Geo leapt up to use his pre-inputted attack. "Hypersonic Arrow!"
These attacks hit Paydaze and sent him into the 'no entry' sign. "Aargh! This job is Murder!", he said as he once moved formed the letters, before he fell down and exploded. "Access error."
"Alright.", the Rangers said as they turned (or in Geo's case, landed) away from the explosion.
From the sidelines, the Star Kats lamented another loss. "Looks like we banked on the wrong horse."
"Dere's still a chance to win big.", Meowbile said as his eyes turned red. He leapt into the air to fire his Gigantify Beam.
"Oh yeah, that.", Grillion and K.P said in unison.
The beam created a vortex, from which Paydaze was recreated as a giant. "Resurrected At Titanic Mass!", he declared as he once more signed the letters.
As the Rangers viewed this, Geo stepped forward, speaking into his Morpher. "Rev, I need your assistance." He then input the Zord code.
At the Ranger base, Rev received the signal. "Well, I guess duty calls.", he said as he ran out the Hyper Dimensional Gate, assuming his vehicle mode as he grew to a giant size.
"Sorry, Lee. But we've gotta leave you and Leo to tinker.", Mover said as he moved over to the Zord bay. "As Rev said, duty calls."
"Try not to have too much fun.", Lee called back as Mover set off. He then continued working with Leo on a machine.
George appeared inside Mover's cockpit. "Turbo Trailer, Lock in!"
"Lock in!" Anna called from within Pink Cruiser, as did Kit and Bobby from within Blue Mountain. "Zords, combine!"
Mover assumed his battle mode before combining with the two selected Zords. "Accel Booster Megazord, ready to go!"
"Megazord code, input! Down, Green, Red, activate!"
At Geo's commands, Rev underwent his own transformation. "Rev Megazord, ready to go!"
As Mover ran forward, Rev flew past him. "Let's see how a real champ handles this guy.", he called out.
"Aerial Targets are More easy to hit.", Paydaze said along with his usual choreography, before he got hit by shots from the Formula Bow.
"Good job.", Mover called out.
"You won't be laughing once you've seen my statement.", Paydaze called out as he fired another sheet barrage at Rev. But Rev managed to hit the ones that flew out, before Paydaze found that his dispenser was jammed. "Well, this is embarrassing.", he said as he began working on his own internals.
"Time to end this.", Geo and Rev said in unison as they flew towards Paydaze to strike the final blow.
"Now we're cooking with gas.", Paydaze declared as he once more released a flurry of paper sheets at Rev.
"Wait, that's not a banking pu-aargh!", Rev called out as one of the paper sheets hit him, causing his body to fall to Earth rapidly.
The other Rangers observed this from inside Mover. "How'd he fix it so fast?", George asked.
"He was faking the whole time as a feint.", Anna got angry.
"Lying on your tax returns is a crime.", Bobby yelled just as passionately.
"Only under federal authority, unfortunately.", Kit sighed. "You're out of luck."
Rev fully crashed to the ground under the weight of wealth. "How can I be held down?", Geo asked. "I give all my pro winnings to charity."
"You do.", Rev answered. "But I've got a fortune in race winnings I should probably have thought about before rushing in."
"Yeah, maybe a little.", Geo growled. "Maybe don't take a big risk like that."
"Why you!", Mover growled as he ran in, swinging the Screw Saber at Paydaze. "I'm about to cut your funding."
But then Paydaze headbutted him. "Don't do that, I only have pennies.", Paydaze laughed as he threw more coins at Rev to buffet him with explosions.
"Hang on!", Mover called out as he moved over to block the explosives with his body. "Acceleration Boost!" With this command, he disappeared with Rev quicker than the eye could see.
"No-one swindles the bank and gets away with it.", Paydaze called out.
As he moved off to search for the Rangers, Mover had taken cover behind a skyscraper, by crouching down to Rev's level. "Neother my short ranges calculated attacks, nor your headstrong long range attacks worked."
"Then perhaps we should try a mix and match.", Rev suggested as Paydaze began throwing coins to trigger more explosions. "I can't make use of my Wing Booster, but you can."
"You want me to use your mods?", Mover questioned. "But you're…"
"Unable to do anything.", Rev answered. "And you're right. Sometimes you have to be cautious in order to win.
Lee's voice came on the radio. "I've done the calculations and this can be done.", he assured Mover. "The mods are compatible with every member of your species."
"Go for it.", George said.
"I always wanted to be a pilot.", Anna said. "I did train to be one for a while."
"Why'd you stop?", Bobby asked.
"She probably doesn't want to talk about it.", Kit answered. "Go for it, big guy."
"Ok.", Mover said as he stood up. "Engage linkup!"
"Booster, unlock!", Rev said, as the Wing Booster on his back detached, flew over to Mover, rotated 180 degrees, before attaching to the back of his compatriot.
"Wing Boost Megazord, lifting off!", Mover called out as he took off into the air. He was now also wielding the Formula Bow. "Hope you don't mind me borrowing your weapon as well, Rev." The Rangers looked around in awe at the distance above the ground they were at.
All Targets must be Met.", Paydaze stated, as he threw explosive coins at Mover, who flew out of the way.
"Woah!", George cried out as the g-force began to affect him.
"This is…", Anna called out.
"…really fast!", Bobby and Kit said in unison.
"Formula Blast!", Mover called out as he fired the formula Bow at Paydaze, buffeting him.
"Accurately Terrific Marksmanship!", Paydaze called out as he recovered from the blasts.
"That's the Mover I know.", Rev wheezed. "If it weren't for him, our team wouldn't have succeeded as often as we did."
"And you wouldn't have so much wealth, Rev.", Lee pointed out. Then he had an idea. "Wait, that's it. Leo, can I remotely teleport into Mover's cockpit?"
"If you had a Zord module, then yes.", Leo answered him.
Sure enough, Lee pulled the Turbo Trailer module from his back pocket. "Always keep a spare lying around." He then inserted it into his Morpher. "Lock in!"
Back at the battle, George was startled as Lee appeared next to him, fully morphed. "Didn't I tell you to stay out of this, rich kid?"
"Me being rich is what we need right now.", Lee answered. "Mover, fly above the Automobeast and let him hit you with his paper."
"I see.", Mover said as he flew directly above Paydaze, hovering in place.
"Wait a minute!", Anna called out.
"What are you doing, Lee?", Bobby asked.
"Trust me on this.", was all he had to say.
"You think being a static target will help you?", Paydaze asked. "Because Aiming is Trickier with Moving targets." He hen fired his sheets at Mover, who was hit directly.
"Is that really our plan?", Bobby asked.
"Wait for it.", Lee said.
Sure enough, Mover fell from the sky at a rapid speed, heading straight towards Paydaze, who realised the danger he was in too late. "Wait a minute-!" But he was too late to dodge the collision. "Assume This was a Misfire.", he gulped.
""Formula Air Bayonet!", Lee called out, as Mover used his Screw Saber to deliver a slash attack just before completely crashing to the ground.
"All Terminations Mandated.", Paydaze cried out as he did his pose one last time before exploding for good.
This allowed Mover to get back up. "His bank's closed due to low profits."
Rev then got up and went over to his friend. "Thanks for that, Moe. I couldn't have done it by myself."
"No, this was a team effort between the two of us.", Mover said as he and Rev pounded their fists, before posing.
On the ground, while the Star Kats lamented another failure, Technorg watched on. "While the plan didn't work out as intended, it did serve two purposes. The Mafia's and my own." They turned and walked away.
A while later, Lee, the Rangers and their mechanical allies had decided to hold a foot race at a local track field. "Alright, on your mark. Get set. Go!", Lee called out as he tried to fire the starting gun. But it wasn't loaded, so he just decided to roll with it. "Bang."
And so the others all set off, with Geo trailing in last. "Video games don't really translate into exercise.", he wheezed out as everyone overtook him, even the mostly bulkier Mover and Rev.
George maintained a steady lead, before Bobby managed to overtake him. "What?"
"Sorry, Georgey. But us cops have to be fit to catch criminals, no matter what foods people stereotypically think we eat."
But then Anna overtook Bobby by a considerable distance. "Maybe I've never talked about the fact that I was a track and field hopeful in junior high."
"Maybe because you never want to talk about your life.", Kit pointed out, as he kept to a neck and neck pace with George.
But in spite of the boys best efforts, it was Anna who crossed the finish line first. Only to find that Mover was already there. "Hey, how'd you get ahead on foot without me seeing you?", she asked.
"Just a little something called 'Acceleration Boost'.", was Mover's answer. "Let me move to the front so fast the human eye couldn't detect me."
"Hey!", Kit called out as everyone else made it to the finish. "We agreed…"
"No Ranger powers.", Rev interrupted. "But it's something Moe here can do on his own. Nothing Ranger powers-ey about it."
"And the best part is I actually best Rev fair and square.", Mover cried out. "Woo, go me!"
As the others all started disputing this, Lee simply smiled. "So much for being graceful in victory."
