Life isn't a fairy-tail, and Zidane has learned that the hard way. But, that doesn't mean he's going to give up either. To what lengths will Zidane go to be with the woman he loves? He knows it wont be easy, but then what has he got to lose? This story takes place before and directly after the final battle.

Burmecia has fallen. Cleyra has been destroyed. It seems all is lost. But there's still the matter of the young prince.

At a rundown tavern in Lindblum, with the help of a friend he never knew he needed, Amarant reflects on a life that could have been.

By combining the Three Black Waltzes consciousness in one, Kuja creates a Fourth Waltz and sends him after Zidane. Feeling disconnected from the world and a purpose in life, Fratley wonders whether he should or not leave the party, while Vivi spends a time on its own, aware that he won't stay longer. Set during Disc Three (Chapter 11 in progress, "Don't Be").
