Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair. They were a duo that shouldn't have worked... but they did... and somehow their relationship resulted in marriage. Now, Wednesday and Enid work at their old school: Nevermore Academy as teachers, raising up an entire new generation; including their own twin teenage daughters : Harmony and Ana. Harmony, who carries both of her mother's special abilities, continues to grow and explore the world with her girlfriend Megan, and her two good friends: Sophia (a siren), and Emmy (a vampire). Ana meanwhile... is a different story...
Recently, Sophia learned that while her mother was indeed a siren; her father (Tyler Gaplin) was a Hyde. Sophia, fearing that she could turn into a dangerous Hyde by some unpredictable force, has gone into hiding; leaving her girlfriend Emmy devastated. Meanwhile Wednesday Addams' job teaching at Nevermore Academy has become more difficult than usual due to the arrival of a certain guest teacher...
Wednesday was walking down a hallway in Nevermore Academy one morning when Enid suddenly ran over to Wednesday. Enid was out of breath as she said, "Oh good. Wednesday. I just got a call from Wenclair Fashion. There's an important shipment they need from a distributor over three hundred miles away by tomorrow and no trucks are available, and all the employees are super busy. So I volunteered to do the shipment myself. So I'm gonna be gone for the rest of today and tomorrow." A wide eyed and concerned Wednesday then said, "Why must you be the one to get it? Can't you get one of those ridiculous Door Dash or Uber apps to take care of it?" Enid groaned and said, "They don't work like that Wens, and it would take too much time to make a bunch of calls for someone else to do it." Then Wednesday began to look a bit worried as she said, "But Enid... we... have never been apart since beginning our employment at Nevermore Academy together. It would be... discomforting to deal with the students, most notably our children without your presence." Enid made a little grin as she said, "Hey. You got this Wens. Don't worry. It's not like I'll be missing my birthday this weekend. Besides... our special guest teacher was already taking over all my classes this week anyway, so everything should run smoothly." Then Enid gave Wednesday a quick kiss on the lips, and then ran off as she said, "Love you Wens-babe! See you tomorrow night!"
Wednesday then stood still with a look of worry and dread going across her face. Then Wednesday heard a male voice say, "Well at least it's good to know that Wednesday Addams understands how being left hanging now feels." Then Wednesday turned around and saw Xavier Thorpe standing behind her. Wednesday crossed her arms and gave Xavier a deadly stare as she said, "I experienced the sensation of hanging many times when I was young. The sensation of using a rope alone around one's neck to fight against the forces of gravity was quite invigorating." Xavier smirked as he said, "Okay. I'm a guest teacher here this week Wednesday, and your wife asked me to help you out. So can we finally bury the hatchet?" Wednesday continued to glare at Xavier as she said, "Why? So I can be a more vulnerable target due to having one less weapon in my arsenal?" Xavier gave an exhausted sigh, but kept a smile on his face as he said, "So much has changed over the years Wednesday... and yet here we are acting exactly the way we did when we were sixteen years old." Then Wednesday raised one eyebrow as she said, "If you mean to say that I was acting far older than I appeared to be nearly twenty years ago, then I accept that fact. You however are still the lonely and hopeless young single man with the classic tortured hero complex that continues to display unwanted chivalry. Now if you excuse me, I need to review my schedule for today."
Then as Wednesday took out a phone, Xavier smirked as he said, "I see you're still using the phone I gave you all those years ago." Then Wednesday only glanced at Xavier as she said, "I only use it for calls, texts, and maintaining my schedule. I saw no reason to upgrade." Then Xavier put his hands behind his back as he said, "And how have you been enjoying your phone plan... which I've been paying for the last eighteen years?" Wednesday had a look of anger on her face... when suddenly there was the sound of an explosion. Ana suddenly ran into the hallway with a guilty face as she said, "Okay, that was my bad! That was on me! I didn't realize using a 3D printer to make explosives could actually cause an explosion! Also... my experiments with 3D printed brains may have resulted in the class hamster gaining human level intelligence and now he wants to declare war on Wyoming." Then suddenly a loud cat scream was heard. Then Ana ran into a classroom as she yelled, "No Stormageddon the Conqueror! The papaya only gives him more strength!" Then a nervous and angry looking Wednesday glanced at Xavier as she said, "Excuse me. I am about to be... preoccupied for the rest of the morning." Then Wednesday quickly walked away, while Xavier just chuckled.
Enid stood at the door to a factory in front of a large man as she said, "What do you mean the material isn't ready?" The large man then said, "We're working round the clock to have the shipment ready, and it takes time to pack out. We'll have it ready tomorrow morning." Enid sighed and then said, "Well, I could use a walk anyway after that long drive. Guess I'll just enjoy the scenery." Then Enid walked away from the factory and towards a large lake. Enid then began to walk over a bridge, and stopped so she could look at the lake. Then Enid squinted her eyes and saw in the middle of the lake were several life size stone statues of dogs and cats. Then Enid leaned forward as she said to herself, "Hold on. Either those statues were made by the world's best sculptor... or they were once really animals turned to stone... by a gorgon." Then as Enid continued to keep leaning forward, she suddenly lost her balance and began to fall into the lake. Suddenly a male figure rushed over and grabbed Enid's hands, pulling her up before she fell into the lake. Once Enid was back on the bridge, she said, "Phew. Thanks." Then Enid turned to look at the male figure standing before her as she said, "Hold on. Are you... Ajax!?" A grown up Ajax Petropolus stood in front of Enid wearing a coat and beanie as he said, "Hey Enid. It's been a long time."
Wednesday sat at an outdoor lunch table with Harmony, Ana, and Emmy sitting near her. As Harmony looked a bit upset, she said, "So I'm glad Megan is spending so much time helping her brother with his homework. But... I'm just frustrated we're getting less time for just us. I mean I get why Megan helps her brother... but I don't like how his presence is putting the brakes on me and Megan growing as a couple." Then Wednesday glanced at Harmony as she calmly said, "Then you must either force Megan to stop aiding her brother, or end your relationship with Megan to stop the growing emptiness within your soul." Then an angry looking Harmony glared at Wednesday as she said, "Why would you say that mother!? I can't tell Megan to stop helping Edward out, and I'll never break up with her! Just suggesting that is cruel!" Then Harmony angerly stood up and walked away.
Then Wednesday glanced at Emmy and saw she had a sad face and wasn't eating. Wednesday with a deadpan face said, "Emmy, why aren't you eating?" An upset Emmy glared at Wednesday as she said, "You really have to ask that!? Sophia has been gone from school for two weeks now!" Then a confused looking Wednesday said, "What is the connection of that fact with your not eating?" Then a mad Emmy yelled, "Because it's hard to even want to keep on living, let alone eating, without Sophia in my life." Then Wednesday calmly said, "She made a choice to leave school. That choice cannot be changed, so you must learn to cope with it." Then tears appeared in Emmy's eyes as she said, "I'll never cope with losing Sophia. Never!" Then Emmy got up and walked away while crying.
Then Ana's kitten jumped onto the table with a small toy turtle (with three tails) in it's mouth. The kitten dropped the toy turtle in front of Wednesday and happily said, "Meow." Then a confused looking Wednesday said, "I don't need this." Then Ana's kitten looked angry as it yelled, "Rowr, rowr, rowr, rowr, rowr, rowr, rowr!" Then Ana's kitten jumped off the table and ran away. Then Ana leaned towards Wednesday as she said, "Come on mother. How could be so rude to Stormageddon the Conquer! Don't you understand the significance of the toy turtle with three tails!?" Wednesday looked at Ana with a very confused face as she said, "No." Then Ana got up as she said, "Well... I'll try to calm Stormageddon the Conqueror down. Hopefully he doesn't start drowning his sorrows in that peppermint coffee I ordered for him from that shady guy that runs that kangaroo farm in Greenland." Then Ana got up and walked away leaving Wednesday alone... and looking uncertain of what to do.
Enid and Ajax were walking around a large park as a smiling Enid said, "I knew those statues in the middle of the lake were the work of a gorgon." Ajax smirked as he said, "Yeah. Unlike gorgons thousands of years ago, our abilities can't stone people forever except if they're near death. So at the animal clinic I work at, a lot of pet owners have actually asked me to help immortalize their pets when they're really close to dying by turning them to stone. The people that ask me to do it strangely enough really appreciate it." Then Enid smirked back as she said, "Well... I'm proud of you for really making a career for yourself Ajax." Then Ajax looked up as he said, "Well... it sure doesn't compare to you. I mean you started your own clothing line with Wednesday, and then made a bunch of money with her through her autobiography being adapted into that killer Netflix series. By the way, props to everyone involved for not taking me out of the TV adaptation. I thought for sure the TV version would cut me out and you'd make the viewers think Wednesday was the only person you dated at Nevermore." Enid looked down slightly as she said, "We were a couple Ajax. That fact will never be denied. It's just... we both realized we weren't compatible." Then an upset Ajax turned to look at Enid as he said, "No Enid, you believed we weren't compatible. Lets keep the record straight. I was all in when it came to our relationship." Then Enid began to look more upset as she said, "Well you didn't seem all in when I told you I was pregnant with our child!"
Then a frustrated looking Ajax loudly said, "But you weren't! All you had was a pregnancy scare. You found out within a day you weren't actually pregnant, and that should've been the end of it!" Then an angry looking Enid said, "It doesn't matter if I was pregnant or not. It's how you reacted when I thought I was that matters. I told you I thought I was pregnant, and then you said you couldn't deal with our relationship anymore." Then a frustrated Ajax said, "I meant to say I couldn't deal with our situation. I told you I didn't want to start a family! Did you really think we were ready to be parents at that time anyway?" Then Enid glared at Ajax as she said, "Yes, we were young and dumb and having sex way too early in our relationship. But I was willing to accept the consequences of anything that came from our relationship. But the fact that you weren't... was really messed up." Then Ajax groaned and said, "Are we really still having this argument seventeen years later!?" Then an angry Enid said, "We are... and maybe this is why it's best we haven't spoken in seventeen years!" Then Enid turned her back to Ajax and angerly walked away.
In the court yard at Nevermore Academy, Emmy stood in front of an archery range. As Emmy practiced shooting multiple arrows at the targets, she found herself constantly missing. From nearby, Xavier walked over to Emmy as he said, "You look like someone that could use some guidance. Just so you know, I did set the school record for most bullseyes in the annual archery tournament back when I was a student here." Emmy glanced at Xavier as she said, "Yeah, and I beat that record a year ago. I'm usually a lot better at this. But today... I just can't concentrate." Then as Emmy continued to shoot arrows, Xavier calmly stood next to her while saying, "Yeah, I know what source of bad form like that comes from. So... who broke your heart?" A frustrated Emmy paused as she said, "No one tried to break my heart. It's just... my girlfriend... a siren named Sophia... me and her had finally realized we were perfect for each other... and then she found out she had horror monster DNA in her, and she ran away to protect me."
Xavier sighed, and then said, "Yeah. I get wanting to protect yourself from heart break. When I first started attending Nevermore Academy, I dated this siren: Bianca. However because I was worried she may have been manipulating me with her song, I broke things off with her. However it wasn't just to protect myself... but it was also to protect her in case she later realized she really was inadvertently controlling me." Then an angry looking Emmy continued firing arrows as she said, "But that's stupid! Love always involves risk! And if you run away from that risk, then there's no love for anyone to potentially have." Xavier sighed, and then said, "Yeah, well... people sometimes end their love with people... because of how much they love them." Then Emmy rolled her eyes and said, "That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard." Xavier looked up slightly with a guilty face while saying, "It probably is really ridiculous."
Meanwhile nearby, Wednesday sat silently as she watched Emmy and Xavier talk with one another. Then Harmony and And walked over to Wednesday and sat beside her on opposite sides. A confused looking Wednesday then said, "Is there something you both wish to discuss related to your current predicaments." Then Harmony casually said, "Nah. We called Grandma Morticia and Grandma Esther for advice, and they helped us out." Then a confused looking Wednesday said, "Then what are you doing here?" Harmony then gently leaned her head on Wednesday's shoulder and hugged her as she said, "Because... we know you meant well." Then Ana leaned her head on Wednesday's other shoulder and hugged her too while saying, "You don't always give the advice we necessarily need... but you're always here for us... and that's what matters." Wednesday remained completely still for a moment... and then said, "The fact that you both are my daughters is the only reason you have not been facially disfigured by this point, and is also the reason why I am giving you three minutes to remain in this position. Understood?" Harmony and Ana both contently smiled as they said, "Understood."
Meanwhile Emmy was still firing arrows with a few tears in her eyes as she said, "It's just... I had closed my heart off for so long, and Sophia helped me realize I was ready for live finally... only for her to leave me." Xavier sighed, and then said, "I hear ya. But... was there anything else you could do?" Then a frustrated Emmy said, "I tried telling Sophia how I felt! I tried everything I could to keep her with me!" Then Xavier calmly said, "So are you angry with her?" Then an angry Emmy threw her bow and arrows to the ground as she said, "No! I'm angry at myself! I should've done more!" Emmy then began to cry, while Xavier simply stood still and said, "But there was nothing more you could do it sounds like. Trust me. I know how much it hurts to keep someone close to you, only for them to not want you. But you can't torture yourself forever over what simply wasn't meant to be." After a moment, Emmy eventually stopped crying... and then looked at Xavier and said, "I... I can't make myself feel happy right now... but I don't want to torture myself anymore either." Xavier nodded his head as he said, "Good. You're allowed to stop and feel sad for a time... but you have to put that sadness aside for awhile each time you want to take a big step forward."
Emmy then paused, took a deep breath, picked up her bow and arrows, prepared to shoot one arrow... and then shot the arrow straight into the nearby target. Emmy's eyes widened slightly as Xavier said, "Good work." Emmy turned to look at Xavier, nodded her head, and then said, "Thank you Mister Thorpe." Xavier smiled as he said, "Hey. Call me Xavier. And it's Emmy, right." Emmy nodded her head as she said, "Yeah. Emmy Mendoza." Xavier suddenly looked curious as he said, "Mendoza, huh? You know... I have a great grandmother from the Philippines whose maiden name was Mendoza." Then a curious Emmy said, "Hmm. My mother was from the Philippines." Then the sound of a bell was heard. Emmy then grabbed her stuff as she said, "Well, I have to get to my next class. Nice talking with you." Emmy then walked over to Harmony and Ana, and together the three girls walked to their next class together.
Meanwhile Wednesday walked over to Xavier as she said, "I'm quite surprised you'd turn out to be quite the knowledgeable teacher." Xavier made a little smile as he said, "You only learn to succeed from plenty of failure... and I certainly got my taste of failure all those times I tried to win over you." Wednesday glared at Xavier as she said, "Xavier, viewing your attempts to woo me over as a failure is like viewing an attempt to move a mountain with your bare hands as a failure. It is simply a concrete fact that we was never meant to be." Then Xavier made a little smirk as he said, "Come on Wednesday. I saw the way you looked at me your first semester at Nevermore. I admit I wasn't the one for you... but you can't deny there was a little spark between us for just a small moment in time."
Wednesday then crossed her arms as she said, "You were merely projecting your own desires onto my empty expressions and deadpan responses I constantly gave you. If you fail to remember: I was always completely dismissive of your advances, constantly engaged in verbal feuds with you, and distrusted you enough to make you my first suspect in a murder investigation I was conducting. Perhaps you saw the fact that our souls lived in such dark despair as a commonality that bonded us together. However as much as it pains me to admit this... every soul buried deep in darkness needs light. For without the light... one cannot see the possibilities on how to properly evolve. Enid was the light I required Xavier... so it would do you best to find yours." Then Wednesday turned her back to Xavier and walked away, while Xavier simply stood still with an uncertain look in his eyes.
Enid quietly walked towards a small house. Enid then rang the door bell... and after a long moment, Ajax answered the door. Ajax made a little smile as he said, "Thanks for answering my call." Enid had a surprised look on her face as she said, "I'm just surprised you never deleted my number." Ajax stepped outside as he said, "I never wanted to delete you from my life Enid. I... I'm sorry the way our conversation ended earlier today... and I'm sorry the way our last conversation seventeen years ago ended as well."
Enid sighed, and then said, "Ajax... I'm sorry too. I got over emotional earlier, because seeing you brought back all those mixed up feelings I had back when I was a teenager. That crazy day seventeen years ago I thought I was pregnant with our child... I was a total nervous wreck, and my temper was too high. I mean it only took me literally 24 hours to cool down and be back to my usual self after we broke up... but by then you were gone... and so was our relationship. I... I should've spent more time trying to understand how you felt that day we broke up, rather than getting all caught up with how I felt. I'm sorry Ajax."
Ajax stood silent for a moment... but then looked right at Enid as he said, "The truth is Enid... you were right. When I thought you were pregnant with a kid we created, I freaked out because... I really didn't want a family. I mean... I was young, and just wanted have fun and be free and do my own thing. And for about a decade... I did do my own thing. However... a part of me started wishing we did have a kid. Not because I wanted to be with you Enid... but because I wanted to live for something other than just me."
Then suddenly a car pulled up nearby. Immediately a five year old girl with black hair ran out of the car and yelled, "Daddy!" The little girl ran over to Ajax and hugged him. Ajax hugged the five year old girl and said, "Hey sweety." Suddenly a woman with black hair and sunglasses stepped out of the car as she said, "Enid!?" Enid starred at the woman for a moment, and then said, "Wait a minute... Yoko!?" Then the adult Yoko Tanaka ran towards Enid and said, "Oh my gosh! My Ophelia Hall sister! Come here!" Then Enid and Yoko immediately gave each other a hug. Then once the hug ended, a confused looking Enid said, "Wait. So is this girl both your..." Yoko looked lovingly at the five year old girl that was hugging Ajax as she said, "Well... Sakura here... her father passed away when she was very little. For so long, I never thought anyone would want to marry a single vampire mother with a precocious little daughter... but Ajax here proved me wrong." Enid then looked right at Ajax and made a big smile as she said, "I'm glad to hear that."
In the evening at Nevermore Academy, Emmy sat in her room holding a framed photo of herself and Sophia smiling together. A knock was heard at the door, and Emmy quickly said, "Come in." Wednesday then stepped as she said, "Mister Thorpe just left early for an alleged emergency that came up, but he asked if he could exchange contact information in case you wished to speak to him again." Emmy nodded her head as she said, "Yeah. I wouldn't mind that. Is there anything else?" Wednesday took a deep breath, and then uncomfortably said, "No. Except... I am here... and am willing to simply listen to you and acknowledge your feelings without judgment or commentary if you so require." Emmy made a little smile as she said, "Thanks. But... I'm just gonna sit here alone and look at the moon for awhile... and hope Sophia is okay." Wednesday then turned to walk away... but stopped... and then sat next to Emmy. Emmy looked at Wednesday with a confused face for a moment. Then Wednesday kept her eyes on the moon as she said, "We shall hope together... and if you tell anyone I did this with you, you'll have garlic embedded in every meal you eat for the rest of your life. Understood?" Emmy made a little smile while keeping her eyes fixed on the moon, and then leaned her head against Wednesday's shoulder as she said, "Got it."
Meanwhile outside of a small cabin in the woods: Sophia sat on a log looking at the night sky. Sophia then closed her eyes and said, "Emmy... I hope you're okay." Then suddenly Sophia heard an adult female voice loudly say, "It wasn't smart of you to come out into the open like this." Then Sophia turned her head and saw a blonde woman with blue eyes walking towards her. Sophia instantly looked scared as she said, "Angela!" The woman: Angela smirked as she said, "Come now Sophia. No need to get so over dramatic. Call me mom, mommy, mother, or madre." Then Sophia got up looking angry and frightened as she said, "You stopped being my mother when I learned you wanted to slowly take over the world with your freaking underwater siren cult!"
Then Angela stepped towards Sophia as she said, "But you're wrong Sophia. I don't want to slowly take over the world anymore. I want to quickly take over the world... which I can do now that you've reached the perfect age... for me to do this!" Then Angela threw a vial of an orange liquid at Sophia. Sophia suddenly screamed in pain and fell to the ground. As Sophia continued to scream, a smiling Angela said, "I studied the notes of so many people who have tried to control Hydes over the centuries, including Laurel Gates. Thanks to their research, and my ingenuity: I finally developed a potion to quickly induce your transformation. Now as your mother and liberator... I command you to obey me forever... my Siren Hyde!" Then Sophia's body began to grow. While her face remained the same, muscles grew on her body along with many scales. Sophia's eyes then glowed bright blue as she said, "I obey... my master."
