Carlisle smiled as he and Esme slowdanced in the living room of their unusually quiet house. After everything with Nessie and the pack and the Vultori, Carlisle and Esme had gotten precious little time alone lately. Tonight, all of their "children" were at Edward and Bella's or hunting for the foreseeable future.
"You look exceptionally beautiful tonight, my love." Carlisle said softly as he twirled Esme
"You are very biased." Esme replied "I would have thought you would want to be with our children and Nessie tonight."
"I love them all, and I cherish them all, and I am very glad we are all still here, but I have had precious few moments with you lately and I have needed you Esme."
Esme laughed softly and kissed Carlisle long and passionately.
"I have needed you too." Esme said softly as they parted "But it was nice to see our friends and family come and stand with us."
"Very nice." Carlisle replied softly
Carlisle gently kissed down Esme's neck and untied the wrap dress she had put on earlier in the evening. Esme smiled as she felt the dress slip off her body and started working on the buttons on Carlisl's shirt. Both heard the front door crack open and sighed.
"Get out!" Carlisle said, probably more forcefully than he intended
"But…" came Emmetts reply
"I am romancing your mother, go away." Carlisle snapped
"Edward kicked me out"
"Then go on a very long hunt."
"Fine…"
Esme smiled as the door shut again and they heard Rosalie chastise Emmett for intruding on their "parent's" evening.
"Now where were we?" Esme asked softly as she worked Carlisle's shirt the rest of the way off
"I believe I was about to make love to my very beautiful wife."
Esme's laugh was cut off as Carlise attached himself to her lips. No words were needed for awhile.
