Chapter 45

Rapacity In Blue

Venture Building

Right now Naruto was enjoying a breakfast burrito with Billy and White, seeing how they made it perfectly with their super science, while being thankful that his healing would stop any "problems" that might happen to him, only for Rusty to come down, wanting to see what the pair was working on, only to mistake a segway as a "new" invention, only for Billy to state that it was already invented a while ago.

Only after halfway eating his burrito, Rusty made an awkward metaphor, making Naruto gulp the last of his food, "Well I'm down with breakfast." He states, with Billy being put-off his own breakfast burrito.

Later

After their breakfast interruption, both Billy and White began a couple introductions for a science conference, with White offering up a silent running washing machine, which Naruto found interesting, "Sounds okay, how about an alert to your phone telling you when it's finished, does it have that function." Naruto questions, since he can get behind such an appliance.

Where White, after hearing that inquiry, "IT DOES NOW! I'll get to work on the program to-!" "No appliances boys, I've been down that road before and it was a dead end." Only for Rusty to interrupt and shut it down, more than likely a little "upset" due to his high powered vacuum cleaner that leaked radiation, though he did point out that the thing cleaned it up just as quickly.

Followed by some "shoes" that gives free kinetic energy, but that was a bust as well, due to the weight causing the person to have to drag their feet, "How about making that a prototype, it still some merit, just needs tweaking in some places." Naruto offers, since while he can see such a thing having some possibilities in the future, but right now, it just wasn't ready yet.

Though Rusty can agree to Naruto's thoughts, he decided to move on from that idea, seeing as it wouldn't be in time for the convention, "Wait, why are you here Naruto." Rusty couldn't help but question.

Naruto just shrugs his shoulders, "Figured I'd stick around and offer some innocent criticism about the ideas from a bystander's position." Naruto replied, while leaving out that he was only there to watch if something funny happens, though Rusty simply nods his head that having someone join in on such a thing from a normal perspective would certainly be helpful, even if Naruto is anything BUT normal, he still has common sense about what people would like.

After moving on from that thought, Billy tapped in for the introduction, where he offered a liver regenerative drug called, The Prometheus Drug, which caught both Naruto and Rusty's attention, since a lot of barflies would kill for such a thing, only it turns out that it keeps making livers until the subject explodes, "Um, is it the original liver that keeps regenerating, or does the copies regenerate as we well?" Naruto couldn't help but question in concern, "Ah! Hmmm~ I-I'll look into that, but in all honesty Naruto, I'm getting real sick of blowing up mice." Billy answered, figuring he'll try and look into that.

Though Rusty was in a rush, wanting to know what works, only for Billy to offer up a gas called "God Gas," where both Billy and Rusty began talking science mumbo, with Rusty getting excited about it, while Billy tries to deny the whole thing on an ethical scale, making both Naruto and White look at each other in confusion, since while White can understand science, his was mostly based around computers and technology, so like Naruto, he was drawing a blank about Rusty and Billy's back and forth.

Only both Rusty and Billy to simply state to the pair, ""Control Gas!"" Pretty much surprising the other pair, "(clap! clap) Well I'm out, anything to do with stuff like mind controls I'd rather not be apart of, since it has that whole "ethical" sense to it." Naruto states, while clapping his hands together twice, pretty much washing his hands on the whole thing, which the others can tell was Naruto's way of not wanting to be apart of it as he gets up and walks away.

Though as he walks away, Dean bumps into him, issuing a warning about Hank wanting to know how to "woo" women, making Naruto look to the boy in puzzlement, "O~kay, you know what, I'm gonna have a trip out before Hank tries to ask me some dumb stuff about how to pick up women." Since Naruto didn't want to be anywhere there for such a thing.

Yet as he walks out, he can't help but realise that he's been doing that a lot lately, but considering what the Venture Family get up to on an everyday event, he figured it was understandable that he'd at least go on a normal walkabout in his civilian wear.

Got himself some coffee and a meal, even picked up a few things for the others as well, only to see the sight of his dad and a strange angry guy outside the building, "Huh!? Must be the doc's new arch." Naruto couldn't help but figure, as he makes his way towards the pair, while noticing Hatred was on the floor unconscious.

He made his way to them, "Hey dad, you need any help here." Naruto offered, catching the pairs attention, as well as asking, but his dad brushed it off, "Nah that's fine Naruto, I can handle this." Brock simply replied.

Naruto just shrugs his shoulder, "Alright, oh, just letting you know, I got some muffins from that place we liked." Naruto stated, while holding up a brown paper bag, along with some coffee in a paper tray.

"Wow really! Thanks Naruto, this just made my day." Brock stated, taking the cup with his name on it, he was just about to grab a muffin from the bag as well.

"OI! DO YOU MIND! I'M TRYING TO ARCH HERE!" Only for the loud man to yell out catching their attention.

"Oh! Right, right, right, sorry about that, just I got this lot at (_) and wanted to make sure that my dad had his coffee before his fight." Naruto quickly apologies, "Listen, do you guys mind if I take Hatred in, wouldn't want him to get in the way and all." Naruto offered, with both men agreeing.

(A.N. The reason for the blank spot is because I've never been to New York so I wouldn't know the best local place for coffee and muffins.)

Only as Naruto easily picks Hatred up, Wariana made her appearance and knocks out the loud man, which didn't please Brock in the slightest, "Hey Wariana, have fun with my dad." Naruto simply states, knowing how his dad gets when someone interferes with his target.

Unfortunately that's when Hank began asking Naruto questions about dating, causing Naruto to groan at how long the boy was still hooked onto the whole thing, so Naruto quickly made up an excuse, mostly it involved taking Hatred to the hospital and made his escape, once more leaving the boy to question Brock, but things got awkward since it turned out Brock was falling for the arrogant woman known as Wariana.

Couple Hours Later

Naruto couldn't help but grumble about his time at the hospital, all those procedures, red tape and other stuff, which took both Naruto and the unconscious Hatred those hours to pass before the doctors could get to the man.

Only as Naruto was walking back to the Venture Building, he ended up seeing his father rushing out of it, followed by Rusty, making Naruto confused about the whole thing, where as he entered the building he see's Billy on the floor in a hallucinogenic state, groaning about "The Blue Morpho" or something, confusing Naruto even more, but having a quick sniff of the air, he noticed the strange scent, "You guys messed with the "god gas" didn't you." He simply stated, with White popping out from his hiding place.

"Um, n-no, w-we were, um." He was trying to answer, only for Naruto to give the albino a look, "OKAY, so we were, I'm sorry, you were right, God Gas wasn't the right way to go." White quickly answered, while admitting that Naruto was right, all the while watching Billy crawling around in a drug-induced state.

Where Rusty soon returned after such a confusing result with the gas, until both him and White began coming up with different ideas for it instead, making Naruto groan at the pair not learning a thing about the gas, "I'm gonna go out, don't wait up." He mumbled once more, only this time he decided to visit the Blacksmith brothers instead, since the whole thing was giving him a headache, he'll probable visit the twins as well to help him out with his "stress" after what happened.

There you have it, everything pretty much played out like the canon, with Naruto offering a few ideas here and there, but also realising that he's spending more time away from the building due to how crazy it was getting, not to mention Hank and his dumb questions about dating.
