"Take smaller bites."

Jamie looked at Cora and kept encouraging her. Holding things had become a lot easier and walking wasn't a problem now. Swallowing, she got in a word.

"It's still a little hard to swallow sometimes. Will that go away?"

Jamie nodded and gave her a small encouraging smile.

"You're doing great honey. It will go away with time. But your muscles won't be as strong as they used to be. That's why You need to take smaller bites."

Cora nodded.

"When do I have to go back to school?"

Jamie gave her a serious look at first and then smiled. Now she was getting down to business.

"A couple of weeks. Don't worry, you're not going back to that other school. Your mom and I have decided to enroll you in the charter school up the block from here. Now, we have an appointment with the principal tomorrow. Would you rather be in school? Or would you rather do your schoolwork from here? Online?"

Cora gave Jamie an apprehensive look.

"Is it ok to do online school?"

Jamie nodded.

"Absolutely. Your mom and I will let the principal know your decision. I've also enrolled your brother and your sisters in the same school. So now, your all under one roof."

Cora gave Jamie a smirk.

"You planned that didn't you dad?"

Jamie gave a shrug, and the pair looked up when Eddie entered the kitchen.

"What did you plan bub?"

Jamie shook his head.

"That I planned to have Patrick, Maisie, Kaitlyn and Keena all under the same roof as Cora for school."

Eddie started digging in the cupboard for the blender lid, Cora watched her.

"Ooh, are you going to make daddy's famous smoothie?"

Laughing a little, Eddie gave Cora a look.

"You know, when I was pregnant with you, every time I drank one of these, you would move around like crazy. This baby seems to be doing the same. Your brother Patrick on the other hand, he wanted no part in having this."

Patrick entered the kitchen and took one look at the blender and the ingredients spread out on top of the cutting board, making a face.

"Mom! Ew! You making dad's nasty smoothie?"

Cora swallowed the last bite of her oatmeal and made a face at Patrick.

"Just because you don't like dad's smoothie Pat, doesn't mean the rest of us can't enjoy it. It's good for you."

Patrick looked straight at Eddie with pleading eyes.

"Mom. Do we have anymore pickle chips?"

Cora now made a face at Patrick.

"Look who's talking! I mean pickle chips? Really? Gross!"

This elicited slight laughs from both Jamie and Eddie. Eddie came over to the table and ruffled Patrick's hair.

"Well, when I was pregnant with you, I ate a lot of pickle chips. Chips that tasted like pickles not actual pickles."

Patrick shrugged his shoulders as Eddie pointed to the pantry closet.

"There's a couple of bags in the closet. Don't eat the whole bag Patrick. I mean it!"

Patrick hurriedly opened the closet door and kissed Eddie on the cheek as he breezed by her.

"Thanks mom!"

Eddie let out a light laugh and finished making Jamie's famous smoothie. She poured the green liquid into three separate glasses and placed them on the table. Cora reached for hers and Jamie for his. All three raised their glasses towards each other in a sort of toast.

"Cheers!"

Cora slowly took a drink of hers and smiled.

"You put more apple in it! You remembered!"

Eddie put her glass down for a moment and smiled.

"I remembered because it's the way I like it too. So your welcome."

Jamie looked at Eddie and made a slight face.

"Babe, maybe a little less celery next time?"

Eddie furrowed her eyebrows and took another sip, putting her glass down again.

"Huh. I only put one whole stalk of celery in with everything."

The kids were settled for the night and Jamie and Eddie lie in bed facing one another. Jamie ran a hand through Eddie's blond locks and the other hand was rubbing circles over her belly. His smile grew.

"Someone is awake in there. Hi honey."

Eddie's tank top had slipped up slightly and Jamie swore he could see a foot pressing up against her belly. Giggling and then letting out a groan, Eddie shook her head slightly.

"Now he's doing summersaults in there. Honey, please go to sleep."

Jamie leaned a little closer and placed a kiss to her belly.

"Listen to your mom honey. The baby should be dropping down soon."

Eddie gave Jamie a face.

"My favorite part of all this. Then I'll have to use the bathroom every five minutes instead of every half hour."

Jamie looked into Eddie's eyes and smiled.

"Everything is looking up and the kids are all healthy, plus they are starting at a new school. Everything is under control. I'll go to the paint store tomorrow and pick out some neutral paint."
