A/N 1: I want to take a moment to thank all my readers and reviewers for sticking with this fic. When I started writing it, I wasn't exactly sure where I was going with it. My muse has been working in overdrive lately. I wanted to give two shout outs. The first one goes out to skyross19: Not to worry. Cora will pull through and the family will have happier times to come. Second shout out goes to patrickpopp: Cora will have a full life ahead of her.
I hope you all continue to enjoy the story. I welcome ideas for future chapters from any lurkers out there.

"Daddy… Please make it stop…"
Jamie felt completely helpless and powerless. All he could do was hold back Cora's dark ringlets as she lost what little food she'd been able to hold down, but it only lasted 30 minutes. His stomach clenched and he watched as she dry heaved into the toilet one more time. He rubbed her back and saw her reach over and flush the toilet.
"I know baby. I can get you some Compazine for the nausea. Are you in any kind of pain?"
Cora shook her head and took Jamie's helping hands to stand up.
"No, it doesn't hurt right now daddy. I'm kind of dizzy though."
The pit in Jamie's stomach never left. He watched as she could barely steady herself at the sink. He hovered behind her as washed her hands and drying them. He then took his turn washing his hands. He saw her take a few steps forward.
"Do you need some help going back to your room?"
Cora shook her head and found herself lurching forward. Jamie grabbed for her hands to steady her.
"I've got ya ladybug. Take it slow. That's it."
Helping her into bed, Jamie helped Cora get settled. He handed her some Compazine. Cora furrowed her eyebrows.
"Don't I have to take this with water?"
Jamie shook his head no.
"No. Just put that under your tongue honey. It'll dissolve. Won't take long to get rid of your nausea."
Cora popped the tiny pill in her mouth and it quickly dissolved. It wasn't long before the nausea had completely dissipated.
"I feel better daddy. I'm so tired…"
Jamie nodded. He watched as Cora slowly closed her eyes and she took in a breath and let it out.
"It's ok baby. Get some rest. I'll be here when you wake up."
Looking away, Jamie felt a few tears fall down his cheeks. He took a quiet breath in and let it out, trying to keep his emotions in check. He just couldn't believe how much she was going through. As he was tucking the blankets around her, he could see the port in which she was being given her chemo. Fixing her pajama shirt, he took another breath and let it out. Every time he saw it, it made his throat feel like it was closing up. Swallowing the huge lump in his throat, Jamie fixed the blankets over Cora one more time and sat back in the chair next to the bed. He wasn't leaving her side.
"How is she bub?"
Jamie looked up at Eddie as she entered Cora's room. He scrubbed a hand over his face and nodded somberly.
"She's been throwing up most of the day. Managed to get a little soup into her. I gave some Compazine for the nausea, and she's been putting on a brave face, but she was in so much pain about an hour ago I had to give her some Morphine."
Now it was Eddie's turn to put on a brave face. Nodding, she ran a gentle hand over Cora's dark curls.
"Hi baby. It's mommy. I'm right here."
Cora continued to sleep. She looked so peaceful sleeping. Eddie got a horrified look on her face as she took her hand away from the top of Cora's head. She held her hand out towards Jamie.
"Jamie?"
Looking over at Eddie, Jamie grimaced, and he knew Eddie was on the verge of tears. Swallowing the lump that was forming again, he managed to speak up.
"Her hair. I know. The doctor said her hair was going to start falling out. She's strong babe. She'll get through this."
Eddie sighed and sat down in Jamie's lap, lying her head on his shoulder.
"I know she's strong Jamie. But seeing her like this and there is nothing we as her mom and dad can do to help her feel better, it's just… I can't describe the feeling."
As Jamie was about to speak up, the couple heard Maisie from the doorway.
"Hi daddy. Hi mama. I made this for Cora at school today."
Eddie smiled at Maisie and nodded her head.
"That was very nice of you honey. Thank-you. Your sister is sleeping right now. How about we put it over here on her desk and we show it to her later when she's awake ok?"
Maisie nodded and looked Jamie in the eye.
"Ok. Daddy I'm kind of hungry."
Smiling, Jamie kissed her forehead.
"There's a snack on your desk in your room. Do you need help with your multiplication?"
Maisie shook her head.
"I can do it daddy. Is Cora feeling better?"
Jamie gave Maisie a sympathetic smile.
"She's a little better. But still sick honey."
Maisie nodded.
"I just want her to be better so we can have family game night again like we used to."
Jamie pulled Maisie into a hug and rubbed her back. When he let go, he kissed her forehead.
"She'll get better peanut. Go do your homework. I'll be in to check on you soon."
Maisie left the room and now it was just Jamie, Eddie and a sleeping Cora in the bed. Eddie threaded her hand in Jamie's left one.
"She's strong Jamie. We'll help her get through this together as a family."
Jamie nodded one more time and pulled Eddie in for a kiss. When they broke for air, he gave a slight smile.
"We all need to believe that. She's going to get through this. We need to stay positive."
