Cora was feeling a little better. She had a little more energy than she'd had in days. She wasn't sure what it was exactly, but she wasn't about to complain about it. Standing in front of the mirror, she looked at her reflection.

"I feel good. But I miss my hair."

Cora had left the door open. Jamie had a bathroom added to her room she that she wouldn't have to walk so far to use the one in the hall. This at first caused an uproar with Patrick. He wanted to know why Cora had gotten her own bathroom and why he hadn't gotten one too.

Jamie explained that Cora's bathroom had been added on as a necessity. Not out of convenience. Patrick eventually got over it. Cora continued looking at herself in the mirror and she heard a knock on the door frame. She looked over towards the doorway to find her dad standing in it.

"Good morning ladybug. How are you feeling?"

Cora smiled at Jamie and ran a hand through what little hair she had left right now.

"Morning daddy. I slept good last night. I'm a little nauseous still. May I please get some chicken soup?"

Jamie nodded and then his tone turned sympathetic.

"Of course you can baby girl. As for your hair, it'll grow back. Or for now, we could look into getting you a wig. We can look into getting one that's your hair color, curls."

Cora continued smiling and imagined while looking in the mirror, what it would be like having hair again.

"Thanks daddy."

The sympathetic look still on his face he squeezed her hand.

"You're welcome ladybug. Do you think you can make the trek downstairs?"

Cora shook her head.

"I don't think I have that much energy daddy. Can I have my soup in bed?"

Cora had to admit, there were definite advantages to staying in her room. She got room service, and everything was always taken care of.

"I can bring you some chicken soup. Did you need anything else?"

Cora shook her head and then a thought came to mind.

"Could I have some strawberry juice please?"

Jamie nodded and went downstairs to get some soup from the fridge and heat it up on on the stove. Eddie was already up and making breakfast for the rest of the kids. Smiling, Jamie snuck up behind Eddie and wrapped his arms around her waist, placing a couple of kisses to the side of her neck.

"Morning babe."

Eddie smiled and leaned into Jamie's embrace.

"Mmm. Morning lambchop. What does Cora want for breakfast. I can make her anything she wants. She's earned it. I'm making waffles. Do you think she might like some?"

Jamie shook her head.

"She said she wanted some of the chicken soup I made from last night. Baby girl is still feeling a little nauseous. Her sugar is normal. So it's not her blood sugar. Gave her some Compazine to help her feel better. She hasn't needed any Morphine. She said she had more energy than she's had in days. She had good sleep last night."

Eddie finished cooking the waffles and put them on a plate. Turning off the stove, she went over to the swinging door. Opening it, she yelled towards the stairs.

"Patrick, Maisie, Kaitlyn and Keena! Breakfast!"

Four sets of feet came running down the stairs. Then Cora somewhere upstairs.

"We walk down the stairs guys! Mom's going yell at you!"

The four sets of feet came scurrying into the kitchen and Patrick announced loudly.

"I get the waffles on the top! No cutsies!"

Keena crossed her arms over her chest and frowned.

"Pat! Cora gets the first two waffles!"

Patrick stopped from pouring syrup all over the waffles on his plate.

"Your right. Here dad. Can I give these to Cora?"

Jamie shook his head and ruffled Patrick's hair.

"She's going to have some chicken soup bud. You take those waffles. But please share with your sisters."

Patrick nodded his head and instead gave his plate of waffles to Keena.

"Here take mine Keena. I'll take mine from the bottom."

Jamie and Eddie smiled at Patrick. He was learning to do nice things for his sisters. Soon all the kids were sitting down at the kitchen table and enjoying their breakfast. Maisie, Kaitlyn and Keena were all giggling as they ate their waffles. Patrick pointed at the three of them.

"I've got an idea. Why don't the four of us set up the Monopoly board in Cora's room after she's done eating her soup and have a mini family game night with just us?"

Jamie smiled to himself as he finished heating up the soup on the stove. Turning the stove off, he poured the chicken soup into a soup bowl and placed it on a tray. He really wanted to give Cora some crackers. But besides popcorn, he found out the hard way she choked on those too. Sighing, he straightened everything out on the tray and started walking out of the kitchen.

Making his way towards the stairs and up them, he carefully went towards Cora's room. The door was open, and he found her sitting on her bed with her laptop on the blanket talking to someone.

"I gotta go Mrs. Stevenson. I'll have my math homework to you on Monday."

Jamie set the tray of food on a foldable table and leaned into the frame of the video call Cora was taking.

"Hi Mrs. Stevenson. If Cora is up to it, she will have her math homework to you by Monday."

Mrs. Stevenson was a woman with light brown hair and green eyes. Glasses framed her face. She smiled at Jamie and spoke.

"Hi Mr. Reagan. Of course. Cora you are looking a lot better. Get your math homework to me when you can. There's no rush."

Cora simply smiled at Mrs. Stevenson and nodded, then the screen went dark, ending the video call. Taking Cora's laptop away, and placing it on her desk, he traded it for the small table/tray that had Cora's food on it. Placing it in front of her, he smiled.

"Here's your food baby girl."

Cora frowned as she put her spoon in her soup and began to stir it.

"No crackers daddy?"

Jamie shook his head no seriously.

"Sorry honey. That's part of the safe feeding protocol for you. You choke on them. I got you some soft pita bread. I know you love that."

Cora put her spoon down in her bowl and crossed her arms.

"Safe feeding protocol. I'm not a baby daddy. I can eat."

Jamie sighed. He hadn't wanted to start an argument with Cora.

"I know honey. But your throat muscles aren't as strong as they used to be. There isn't anything that can be done to fix that. Now I don't understand why you choke on popcorn and crackers but not chips. Now eat up. After your done eating, your brother Patrick and your sisters have a surprise for you."

Cora's eyes lit up and she began eating. She managed to eat in 20 minutes, although not exactly good for digestion. He was surprised she could hold the spoon so well. Lately she'd been complaining about her bones hurting.

He was just glad she wasn't in any pain right now. It felt like a normal day. The tray now held an empty bowl and Jamie took it away. As he exited the bedroom, he found Patrick in the doorway with the Monopoly box, as well as Maisie, Kaitlyn and Keena standing with him. They all smiled and shouted.

"Surprise!"

Cora's smile grew as the siblings piled into her bedroom.

"Monopoly. You brought family game night to me. Who's ready to lose?"

Patrick gave Cora a look.

"You. I am so ready to buy all your properties."

Cora shook her head.

"Game on little bro."

It was now half an hour into the game and Cora rolled the dice. Her dog figurine piece landed on one of Patrick's properties.

"Ha! Park place! You owe me $800 Pat! Fork it over."

Maisie, Kaitlyn and Keena started giggling at Patrick. He sighed and handed Cora the colorful money. Meanwhile, Jamie and Eddie stood in the doorway. Patrick and the girls were focused on the game. Cora looked up at both her parents and smiled, mouthing a silent sign of thanks.

'Thank-you.'
