Hi I'm back and I'm going to be picking this story up more from now on. I had a bit of trouble with the story but that over and I'm ready to come back and pick this story up more. As always review with your ideas and opinions even if you don't follow and like it always hepls me with the writing and it lets me know people are still reading this. Making his way through Viridian forest Ash and his friends encountered Cross a mean trainer who was harsh to his Charmander before abandoning it for losing a match and seeing a new Pokémon that was not registered in the Pokedex Ash and his friends, along with Charmander who is now Ash's Pokémon have finally made it to Pewter city home of the pewter city gym where Ash hopes to Challenge the pewter city gym leader. Right now, they were at the Pokémon center to rest for the night and they planned they would head to the gym first thing in the morning. They spotted a familiar pink haired nurse there.: Hey nurse Joy, what are you doing here?" asked Ash, "Oh! You must be thinking of another nurse Joy. There are many of us that all work at the different Pokémon centers in other cities across the region." explained the Pewter city nurse Joy. "Oh!" the three of them exclaimed. They then handed Nurse Joy Pikachu and the other Pokémon. Then they all decided they would call home and let their parents know how things are going.
Once they had all called their parents they got together and called Prof. Oak and told him about the new Pokémon they saw. "Well hello everyone! It seems you all made it to Pewter city alright. So, what is going on now? "asked, prof. Oak. "Well we saw this new Pokémon flying over the forest and we tried to find out more about it but the Pokedex had no information on it." said Ritchie. "Yeah it was like a huge bird Pokémon." added Ash, "And it was really beautiful." finished Serena.
"Hm? It sounds like the Pokémon you're talking about is the legendary Pokémon Ho-oh." said Prof. Oak after thinking it over for a while. "Ho-oh?" asked Ash. "Yes, Ho-oh is a legendary Pokémon that has appeared throughout the Kanto region but, no one really knows anything about it so there is no actual data on it in the Pokedex, there are rumors and legends but nothing solid. "explained Prof. Oak. "What about this? "asked Ash, showing the Professor the rainbow-colored feather Ho-oh dropped. "Ho-oh dropped this and it landed on me after it flew off." "I've never seen a feather like that before, but I'll do some research and let you know if I find anything. I recommend you visit the Pewter city museum and talk to Dr. Gellar he knows a lot about Pokemon artifacts. Until then keep the feather hidden, there are reports of people who steal valuable items and Pokémon from trainers, they go by team rocket. And they are extremely dangerous so be careful." warned the Professor. "We will." responded Ritchie, "We will be fine professor." said Serena. "Sure thing! Bye Professor." said Ash and ended the call with the Professor.
After that they went to the cafeteria and ate their dinner before picking up Pikachu and the other Pokémon who had been treated and fed by nurse Joy. They then decided to use the guest rooms in the Pokémon center and spend the night there.
The next morning Ash and Pikachu were the first ones up and they wanted to hit the gym first before doing anything. They decided that first they would hit the gym then they would look around Pewter city. After getting directions from nurse Joy they made their way to the Pewter city gym and when they entered the whole place was dark and there was a man sitting on a big rock in the back of the room. "Excuse me? I'm here to have a battle with the pewter city gym leader!" said Ash to the mysterious man in the shadows. "So, you finally made it? Good." said the man and the lights came on to reveal a man with spiky brown hair wearing an orange T-shirt with a green vest on top and brown pants with blue shoes. (His clothes in his first appearance) "My name is Brock, and I am the pewter city gym leader." "I remember you!", exclaimed Ash, "We met you in Viridian city. You gave me battle advice." "Yes, I did. I thought it was a shame that you lost but you did seem pretty good for a newbie. Now then you say you are here for a battle then just a warning I believe in rock hard defense and determination, so all my Pokémon are rock type if you are still willing let's battle" After Brock's declaration he removed his shirt and from the sides emerged a field covered with boulders and smaller rocks. "Yeah I'm ready. I am Ash from pallet town. And this is my partner Pikachu!" declared Ash. "Pika! Pi!" joined in Pikachu.
Serena and Ritchie moved to the stands to watch the match and they some nine boys and girls come up to join them. "Go Brock!" "Get him" they cheered. "Who are you guys?" asked Ritchie. The oldest of them responded "We're Brock's siblings. He lets us watch some of his gym battles." "Looks like they are about start." Said Serena. The referee stepped out on the field and said "The battle between Ash the challenger from Pallet town and the pewter city gym leader Brock is about to begin. Each side will only use two Pokémon and only the challenger is allowed substitutions. Now both sides present their first Pokémon." "Geodude I chose you!" said Brock as he sent out Geodude. "Who's that Pokémon?" asked Ash and he brought out his Pokedex and scanned it. Geodude the rock Pokémon found in fields and mountains people mistake them for boulders and often step or trip on them. "Cool! Alright, Nidorino I choose you!" Ash sent out Nidorino. "Battle begin!" said the referee.
"Nidorino use poison sting!" said Ash, Nidorino fired purple thorns from its horn that struck Geodude, but he looked unaffected. "Poison type moves are weak against rock types! Observe Geodude use roll out!" said Brock. Geodude pulled its hands in and started rolling like a ball at Nidorino. "Use double kick!" said Ash. Nidorino used its legs and struck the rolling Geodude back. But Geodude came rolling round again, Nidorino tried to use double kick again but Geodude overpowered it and knocked it into a rock.
"Nidorino!" cried Ash. Nidorino struggled to get up it was hurt from the last attack. "Rollout is an attack that gets stronger the more it is used. Which means the next won will finish this, Go Geodude!" declared Brock. Geodude started rolling faster and was coming directly at Nidorino.
I have to think of something! How can I stop it from rolling around! Wait that is it! "Nidorino use fury attack and charge him!" said Ash much to the surprise of everyone around him, even Nidorino, "Trust me go!" said Ash. Nidorino nodded and his horn started glowing white and it charged at Geodude. "Now strike the ground in front of him and throw him up!" Nidorino stopped close to the oncoming Geodude and acted as a ramp and threw him into the sky. "No use skull bash!" Nidorino's head was surrounded by white energy and it flew at Geodude and blasted him into the wall behind Brock knocking Geodude out. "Geodude is unable to battle the winner is Nidorino!" declared the referee.
"Amazing!" said Serena. "A critical hit! That move knocked it out!" said Ritchie. "Brock… lost?" asked one of Brocks siblings starting to cry. "Don't worry Brock won't lose!" said another and they started cheering for Brock. "I see!", said Brock returning his Geodude, " You got that idea from your battle with Giovanni, right." "Yeah! If I can't overpower your Geodude on the ground I thought I could win in the air where it can't move." Replied Ash. Brock smiled, "Impressive. Let us see if you can handle this. Go! Onyx!" Brock sent out his Onyx.
"Who's that Pokémon?" asked Ash taking out his Pokedex and scanning Onyx. Onyx the rock snake Pokémon as it digs through the ground it absorbs many hard objects. This is what makes its body so solid. "My Onyx defense is second to none, so bring it on!" said Brock.
"Battle begin!" said the referee. "Nidorino use double kick!" said Ash. Nidorino jumped at Onyx. "Use bide!" said Brock. Onyx body glowed as it was hit with the double kick it stood its ground. "Use double kick one more time!" Nidorino struck Onyx again with double kick.
"Now finish it with double kick!" Nidorino jumped to kick Onyx but then Onyx roared and fired a beam of white energy and blasted Nidorino knocking him out. "Nidorino!" cried Ash. "Nidorino is unable to battle the winner is Onyx!" declared the referee. "What was that move?" asked Ash. "That was bide. It allows a Pokémon to store energy from an attack and deals back double the damage taken. Perfect for Pokémon with strong defense like my Onyx. Now show me if you can overcome it!" Said Brock. Ash smiled and returned Nidorino, "Nidorino return! You did great now get a good rest." Ash looked to Pikachu, "Pikachu I chose you!" Pikachu jumped of Ash shoulder and stood ready to fight.
"Battle begin!" said the referee. "Pikachu use iron tail!" said Ash. Pikachu tail glowed silver and it ran to strike Onyx. "Use bind!" said Brock. Onyx moved and tried to catch Pikachu with its tail. "Dodge it Pikachu!" said Ash, Pikachu jumped back and avoided Onyx by going behind a boulder. "Trying to hide won't work. Onyx use slam on the boulder!" said Brock.
Onyx used it tail and crushed the boulder and the rocks knocked Pikachu away. "Pikachu hang in there! Use quick attack!" Pikachu started running at Onyx. "Use smack down!" Onyx tried to hit Pikachu with a small fast rock. "Run behind the boulders!" Pikachu started using the boulders as shields as he ran up to Onyx while avoiding the projectile. "Use slam and destroy those hiding places!" Onyx used its tail to clear the field and tried to hit Pikachu. "Now Pikachu climb Onyx!" Pikachu jumped onto Onyx tail and started running up Onyx body. "Onyx bind!" "Pikachu Iron tail!" As Onyx started moving it caught Pikachu, but Pikachu retaliated with Iron tail badly damaging Onyx at close range. "Keep going up and use Iron tail!" "Onyx use bide!" As Pikachu kept climbing Onyx it used Iron tail back-to-back hurting Onyx along the way. While Onyx was storing energy from every hit and was about to release it when Pikachu came close to Onyx face. "Fire!" Onyx released the energy at point blank range. "Pikachu block it with electro ball!" Pikachu created a ball of electricity from its tail and countered the attack with it creating an explosion. "Pikachu!" "Onyx!" when the smoke cleared Onyx was standing and Pikachu was on Onyx head holding onto its horn. "Now use iron tail!" "Shake him off Onyx!" Onyx started moving rapidly to shake off Pikachu. Pikachu was holding on and used it tail and struck Onyx head causing Onyx to cry out. "Onyx!"
"One more attack and its over," said Ash seeing that Onyx was about to faint, "Pikachu Iron ta-" Ash was interrupted from what he was saying by Brock's little brothers and sisters holding him. "No! Don't hurt Onyx!" said the youngest one with the others agreeing with her. "Stop it!" said Brock to the kids, "This is a gym battle and sometimes a Pokémon will lose sometimes it will win what's important is how you battle." "But…" one of them said with tears in their eyes. Ash was looking uncomfortable I don't know if I can finish this with them acting like this. What should I do? Ash thought feeling sad. "Pika!" "Arrrrr!" roared Pikachu and Onyx. Pikachu was thrown off Onyx head and Onyx was obviously weakened from Pikachu attacks was still ready to fight and Pikachu was tired from running was still standing to fight. "Pikachu?" Pikachu looked to Ash and nodded showing that it wanted to end the battle with Onyx. "Okay. Let's go!" said Ash Brock's siblings were still clinging to him when he said, "Pikachu use Iron tail!" "Onyx use smack down!" Pikachu used Iron tail and Onyx fired a small rock at a high speed at Pikachu. "Pikachu deflect it!" said Ash surprising everyone, Pikachu used Iron tail to send the rock back at Onyx before striking Onyx with its tail. "Arrrrr!" "Onyx!" Onyx collapsed to the ground and fainted.
"Onyx is unable to battle the winner is Pikachu and the victor the challenger Ash from Pallet town." Said the referee. "Alright!" yelled Ritchie. "Way to go Ash!" cheered Serena. Putting brock's siblings down Ash moved to grab Pikachu. "We did it buddy!" said Ash happy and Pikachu nodded and nuzzled against Ash's face. "Return Onyx!" said Brock as he returned Onyx to its Pokeball and approached Ash. "Well done Ash. As proof of your victory at the pewter city gym I present you the Boulder badge! With this you are one step closer to the Pokémon league." "Thanks!" said Ash as he took the gym badge and struck his signature pose where he holds the badge out and says its name, "I just got the boulder badge!" Pikachu jumps up and cheers for you.
Ash felt someone tug at his clothes and looked down to see Brock's siblings, "Sorry we tried to make you lose mister." Said the oldest looking one and the others joined in with more I'm sorry. "Its okay." Said Ash. "So what are you going to do next?" asked Brock after Serena and Ritchie had joined them. "We planned to explore Pewter city a bit before we move on." Said Ash. "I want to go to the pewter city café and try some pewter crunchies. I heard they are great." Said Serena. "And I'm thinking we can check out the Pewter city museum. But we haven't decided where we will go next." Said Ritchie. "In that case I recommend heading to Cerulean city. If you pass through Mt. Moon you should be there quickly." Suggested Brock. "Thanks!" said the three of them and they left the gym and stopped at the Pokémon center so Ash could get his Pokémon healed.
Then they went to the pewter city museum and saw they exhibits on Pokémon fossils. "Greetings my name is Dr. Gellar, I'm the manager of the museum and the chief scientist. How can I help you?" asked the manager, he was a tall man with grey shaggy hair, a blue dress shirt, black pants and shoes and a white lab coat. Ash, Ritchie and Serena introduced themselves and said that Prof. Oak sent them and showed him the rainbow feather that Ho-Oh! Dropped and asked him about it. "Where did you get this? Asked Dr. Gellar in shock at seeing the feather. "It was dropped by Ho-oh! While we were in the Vermillion forest." Said Ash. "What can you tell us about it?" asked Ritchie. "There is a legend about that feather. It is called the rainbow wing. Legend says that the Ho-oh bestows the rainbow wing to a trainer it really likes, and that trainer will be led to it by the rainbow wing. This trainer is called the rainbow hero who is lead by the rainbow wing to find Ho-oh. Or so the legend goes." Said Dr. Gellar. "The rainbow hero?" said Serena surprised at the worlds. "I don't know about any of that but if this means I can find Ho-oh with this then I'm going to use it." Said Ash. "How can we use it?" asked Richie. "The rainbow wind will react when your are ready to meet Ho-oh or when Ho-oh is nearby. It will lead you there, but I don't know much else because this all comes from a legend that's thousands of years old." Answered Dr. Gellar.
After the explanation from Dr. Gellar they moved to view the displays on fossils and a scientist explained that there were Pokémon that went extinct millions of years ago and that these ancient Pokémon left behind fossils that these Pokemon were the ancestors of all the Pokemon that exist in the world now. All that was left of these Pokemon were solid rocks that housed their DNA which is used by scientist to determine what they were and other things about them. After they returned to the Pokemon center to pick up Ash's Pokemon and they went to the pewter city café and purchased some Pewter crunchies and then started on their way to Cerulean city through Mt. Moon.
Along the way they were passing a stream and they came across a battle between a girl and a large serpent-like water Pokemon and a Pokemon that looked like a brown star. "Who are those Pokemon?" asked Ash and then he brought out his Pokedex to scan them. The first was Gyarados the atrocious Pokemon rarely seen in the wild huge and vicious it can destroy entire cities in a rage. And the other one was Staryu the star shape Pokemon this enigmatic Pokémon can effortlessly regenerate any appendage it loses in battle. "That girl looks like she's in trouble." Said Serena. "And her Staryu doesn't look good either." Added Ritchie. "We should help her." Said Ash. "Pika! Pi!" responded Pikachu nodding and charging electricity. Serena and Ritchie also nodded, and they charged off to help her.
In a dark cave there are three shadowy figures visible talking to a man in a video call. The man is wearing a striped suit and has a huge cat like Pokemon on his lap. "So have you secured the item." Asked the man. "No sir. The cave is proving more difficult to traverse than we thought." Responded one of the shadows, a man by the sound of his voice. "However, the others are now continuing the search so it shouldn't be long before we have more results." Said the second voice a woman. "Excellent. And the Pokemon?" asked the man. "We've captured most of them. There are some powerful ones too. We even had some really big bugs, but we swatted them." Said the third shadow his voice was masculine, but it was different from a human. "Good work. Keep me posted and Jessie, James and Meowth don't fail me." Said the man as the video ended. The shadows were revealed to be a man with purple-blue hair at shoulder length with a single fringe sprouting from the center and green eyes wearing a white long sleeve shirt with a large red R on it, a black short sleeve undershirt, white pants with a purple belt, black boots, and matching gloves, a woman with long pink hair curled in a comet-tail behind her head with a pair of green pearl earrings and sapphire blue eyes wearing a short black shirt that exposes her midriff under a white high collared sleeved shirt emblazoned with a large red R, a white miniskirt, black leg-length boots, and long black arm-sleeves and the last one is a catlike Pokemon walking on two legs. They look over to the cages full of different Pokemon and of to the side is a young boy tied up and gagged to silence his mouth.
