Last chapter of the year. Sorry it was a little rushed and I was going to make it longer but I have some other stuff to do for the new year and so I decided to make it a two part chapter. I hope to upload a new chapter at least twice every month so look forward to that.

After defeating the pewter city gym leader Brock, Ash and his friends were on their way to Cerulean city home of the Cerulean city gym and they had to pass through mount moon to get there but along the way they ran into a girl who was battling a Gyrados and they were moving to help her. "Pikachu use electro ball!" said Ash. Pikachu generated a ball of electricity in its tail and threw it at Gyrados drawing its attention away from the trainer. "Staryu use swift!" said the trainer. Staryu fired stars of light at Gyrados. "Pikachu use thunder shock!" Pikachu fried electricity at Gyrados. Gyrados roared and fired a blast of wind from its mouth, Pikachu barely avoids the attack and the force from the attack knocks all of them back. "Hey, you!" yelled the trainer that Ash noticed to be a girl with orange hair tied into a side ponytail with blue hair elastic. She has green eyes and fair skin. She wears a yellow tank top that shows her midriff, red suspenders, blue denim shorts that stop at her thighs and red sneakers with yellow lining and white laces. "Stay out of this it's too dangerous for you!" said the girl. "Don't worry we can do it. Pikachu use thunder wave!" said Ash. Pikachu jumped up and released electric waves that paralyzed Gyrados paralyzing it. "Gyrados is paralyzed now's your chance." Said Ritchie to the trainer. "Staryu use rapid spin!" said the female trainer. "Pikachu use iron tail." Said Ash. Staryu started spinning and flew at Gyrados and Pikachu used its iron tail and struck Gyrados on the head knocking it down. "They got him!" said Serena. Gyrados got angry and got up and roared before blasting a large torrent of water at them. "Look out!" said Ash. The attack knocked both Pikachu and Staryu back. "Pikachu!" "Staryu!" both Ash and the trainer yelled at the same time. Staryu was knocked out but Pikachu was still standing, and he shook his head and stood to fight. Gyrados roared and focused its attention on Pikachu and attacked. "Pikachu use quick attack and dodge it!" said Ash. Pikachu ran up the side of the water and moved around quickly to avoid the attack from Gyrados. The paralysis slowed Gyrados speed so it couldn't move as quickly as before. "Serena use Bulbasaur and I'll use Spearow and we can help!" suggested Ritchie sending out his Spearow. "Okay! Go Bulbasaur!" said Serena sending out her Bulbasaur. "Use Aerial ace!" said Ritchie. "Use and hold him down!" said Serena. Spearow flew at Gyrados with a glowing x made of energy around it and struck Gyrados and Bulbasaur stretched its vines and grabbed and pulled down Gyrados. "Now Pikachu use electro ball!" said Ash and Pikachu fired the attack at Gyrados finally knocking it unconscious. Then Misty took out a Poke ball and returned Gyrados into it.

Ash and his friends introduced themselves to the trainer who introduced herself as Misty. "So that Gyrados was your Pokemon so why were you fighting it?" asked Ritchie. "I just caught Gyrados as a Magikarp but it was stolen from me along with some other Pokemon and I followed them and saw that they were headed to Mt. moon and I met up with some of them her and they sent out my Gyrados that had Just evolved from my Magikarp to attack me before they headed to the Mt." explained Misty.

"That sounds terrible." Said Serena. "If they were headed to Mt. moon then there must be more of them there. We should go back to pewter city and tell Officer Jenny." Suggested Ritchie. "No way!" said Misty, "They stole my Pokemon and I want to be the one to catch them. Besides they might escape before she gets here." "She's right we should go and stop them." Said Ash agreeing with Misty. "Pika!" nodded Pikachu.

Before they could argue about what to do they heard a scream from Mt. Moon and headed there to see a man in a lab coat with a dress shirt inside and plain pants with scruffy red hair and round glasses being attack by some wild bat like Pokemon. Ash took out his Pokedex and scanned them.

Zubat the bat Pokemon. It has no eyes and instead relies on ultrasonic cries for echo location to move in darkness.

"We have to help that man." Said Ritchie. "Go Pikachu! Thunder shock!" said Ash and Pikachu jumped off his shoulder. "Staryu help out! Use Swift!" said Misty. Pikachu and Staryu attack scared off the Zubat and they approached the man on the floor. "Are you okay?" asked Ash. He jumped up and grabbed Ash hand.

"Oh! Thank you so much! I thought I was done for when those Zubat surrounded me and I had no way of escaping them until you guys came and saved me. Thank you so much!" said the man as he moved around shaking everyone's hands and eventually shaking both Staryu and Pikachu. "Um…who are you? And what was going on with those Zubat why they attacked you?" asked Ritchie.

"My name is Seymour. I am a Pokemon researcher and I came to investigate Mt. moon and the Pokemon that live here. But I discovered something strange was going on. As soon as I got close the Zubat came out of the cave and attacked me." Explained Seymour. "They attacked you?" asked Serena. "That's odd normally Zubat wouldn't come out of their caves and attack people unless someone or something attacked them." Said Ritchie. "It must have been the same people who stole my Pokemon. We have to go after them now." Said Misty. "Exactly!" agreed Seymour, "If there is hurting the Pokemon here then we have to go and stop them." "Yeah!" agreed Ash.

After they all agreed they went into the tunnel to find whoever stole Misty's Pokemon and who was upsetting the wild Pokemon that lived there. As they entered, they discovered that there were lanterns set up all over the cave and the sudden change seemed to be confusing the Pokemon. Ash took out his Pokedex and scanned all the different the Pokemon he saw.

Paras the mushroom Pokemon. Burrows underground to gnaw on tree roots. The mushrooms on its back absorb most of the nutrition. The Paras where lying on the floor all-over the cave and where removing their Mushrooms lazily. There were some Geodude that were suffering from the same thing and Zubat that were flying around in confusion and were colliding with the lanterns. "Look at all these poor Pokemon." Said Serena. "Whoever did this is in a lot of trouble." Said Misty. A cloud of smoke surrounded them and through the smoke they heard voices.

"Did someone say trouble?" said a female voice.

"Well you can make it double." Said a male voice

"To protect the world from devastation."

"To unite all people within our nation."

"To denounce the evils of truth and love."

"To extend our reach to the stars above."

"Jessie."

"James."

"Team rocket blasting off at the speed of light."

"Surrender now or prepare to fight."

"Meowth that's right." Said new voice.

After the smoke cleared it revealed a man with purple-blue hair at shoulder length with a single fringe sprouting from the center and green eyes wearing a white long sleeve shirt with a large red R on it, a black short sleeve undershirt, white pants with a purple belt, black boots, and matching gloves, a woman with long pink hair curled in a comet-tail behind her head with a pair of green pearl earrings and sapphire blue eyes wearing a short black shirt that exposes her midriff under a white high collared sleeved shirt emblazoned with a large red R, a white miniskirt, black leg-length boots, and long black arm-sleeves and the last one is a catlike Pokemon walking on two legs. (Team rocket Jessie and James with Meowth from the first season in this episode.)

"Who are these guys? And is that a talking Meowth?" asked Seymour obviously fawning over such a rare Pokemon. "They called themselves team rocket. They must be the thieves that Professor Oak warned us about. Why are you here?" asked Ritchie. "And give me back the Pokemon you stole from me!" demanded Misty. "Sorry but you twerps are not our mission but if you stay out of our way, we won't hurt you." Said Jessie. "Besides we don't have time to play with you, so we'll leave you to them." Said James as he snapped his fingers and a bunch of guys in the same clothes as them but black and with caps and scarfs came out to fight them there was at least 30 of them. (Team rocket grunts you see in the games and in the anime with no names who never appear again.) Jessie, James and Meowth disappeared deeper into the cave. "They've surrounded us." Said Ash. "So, we'll just have to fight our way out." "Pikapi!" agreed Pikachu. The grunts sent out snake-like Pokemon and a Pokemon that was round with holes all over its body. Ash scanned them.

Koffing the poison Gas Pokemon. Its body is full of poisonous gas. It floats into garbage dumps, seeking out fumes of raw rotten trash.

Ekans the snake Pokemon. The older it gets the longer it grows. At night it wraps its long body around tree branches to rest.

"come on out Butter free! Pidgeotto! Charmander! Nidorino!" said Ash adding his other Pokemon to join the fight. "Go Charmander! Rattatta! Spearow! Beedrill! Zubat! Help 'em out!" said Ritchie sending out all his Pokemon. "When did you catch that Zubat? And what happened to Kakuna?" asked Serena. "I caught Zubat just before we entered the cave and Kakuna evolved during some late-night training. "answered Ritchie. "I wish I caught one." Said Ash. "You guys hold them off here we'll go after those three who left and find the stolen Pokemon." Said Misty. "Leave it to us." Said Ash. "We won't let you leave!" said one of the grunts. "Ekans use poison sting!" cried half of them to their Pokemon. "Koffing use smog!" cried the other half. Ekans fired poison spike from its mouth at them and Koffing released poisonous gas at them. "Pikachu use electro ball! Charmander use flamethrower! Pidgeotto use gust! Nidorino use poison sting! Butter free use confusion!" said Ash. "Now Charmander use ember! Zubat use supersonic! Rattatta use bite! Spearow use fury attack! Beedrill use twin needle!" said Ritchie the attacks all crossed and cancelled each other out creating a huge blast allowing Misty, Serena and Seymour to escape.

"Now Charmander use outrage!" said Ash. Charmander charged into the swarm of Pokemon and bashed through them. "Now Butter free use confusion!" Butter free used confusion to pick all the Pokemon up into the air and slam them down into the ground.

"This is bad!"

"We need to retreat!"

The grunts started running scared towards the exit of the cave. Ash and Ritchie were celebrating their victory and were about to start moving to where they saw Serena and the others go when an explosion happened beneath them causing a massive cave in. The last thing Ash saw before losing conscious ness was that he was falling beneath the ground with Nidorino. Butter free and Pidgeotto caught Pikachu and Charmander while Ritchie was thrown against the cave wall with his Pokemon.

Meanwhile, Misty, Serena and Seymour were moving through the cave when they came across a large space with many different Pokemon in cages. They looked around and they saw that most of the Pokemon were weakened. There was an Onyx, Geodude, Paras, Zubat and even a Rhyhorn. Along with their evolutionary lines. The odd one out was a star shaped Pokemon sitting in a cave in the back, Misty ran over to her Pokemon and let it out of its cage but before she could she heard an explosion and the whole cave was shaking. "What was that?" asked Serena. "Sounded like an explosion caused a cave in somewhere in the Mountain. Maybe back where we left Ash and Ritchie." Said Seymour sounding concerned for them. "We have to go back and-" serena started but was cut off by the appearance of Jessie, James and Meowth and Meowth had his claws around the neck of a little kid who looked just like Brock the pewter city gym leader. "None of you are going anywhere not if you don't want to see this kid have his throat slashed." Threatened Meowth. "Or you could end up like your friends who stayed behind." said James. "A nice little explosion and cave in must have crushed their spirits." said Jessie and the three of them laughed. As Misty, Serena and Seymour could only look at them in fear and worry over the fate of their friends and the kid team rocket had.
