The alarms continued to blare, the kids were running to regroup after trying to take a moment to relax. "Attention. All park-goers must report to the South Ferry Dock for immediate evacuation. The last ferry departs in two hours."

"That's it? No explanations?" Brooklynn questioned. "That's all we get?"

"Well, it is a pre-recorded message." Peter reminded her.

Darius panted as he ran over to them. "We have to move. The only way we're gonna make it is if we run."

"Um..." Sammy gestued back over towards Yaz who was struggling to run. "Are we sure that's the best way to get there?"

Yasmina grunted as she ran up to them. "I'm fine." She stated, lifting her injured leg. "I've competed with a torn ACL." She then gestured off to Ben and Bumpy who ran up to them. "You should be way more worried about Ben and Bumpy."

Ben was panting as he struggled to run at their speed. "What we should all be worried about is catching a boat out of here and, naturally, we have a problem." He stated, revealing he had a map in his pouch.

"Did you get that pouch from Bloofy?" Peter asked him.

Brooklynn was confused by the reference. "That old preschool show?"

"What can I say? It lives as a core memory in my head," Peter shrugged. "That catchy tune..."

Ben then laid out the map, showing them where they were. "We're here. The docks are on the southern tip of the island." He gestured to the tip of the island. "Even if we ran at peak Yaz or Peter's speed, there's no way we'd make the last boat out."

"You don't know that," Sammy said, trying to look on the bright side.

Ben scoffs. "Yes, I do. I memorized the evacuation plan on the ferry ride over."

Everyone groaned when they heard that.

"Okay, so we need another way," Darius said, trying to come up with an idea, looking at the kayaks. "Um... can we use those somehow? Or send someone to tell the ferry people to wait? Or..."

"Or make a few jetpacks real quick?" Brooklynn asked sarcastically. "Oh! We should befriend a unicorn! Face it. It's hopeless."

"I'm reluctant to admit it, but yes... there's no way we'll make it to the ferry even if we left right now, especially not with..." Peter gestured subtly towards Yaz and Ben. "...certain factors at play."

"I saw that," Yaz stated.

That was when another voice called out: "We will be arriving at Main Street." That got them to look off to see that the monorail was still functioning and even heading towards their location. "Your destination for fine dining and shopping at Jurassic World. Followed by stops at the Jurassic World Lagoon and the South Ferry Dock."

"Monorail, what-what!" Kenji cheered.

"Mm, nicely played, Universe," Brooklynn complimented.

"Nice to have a break for once!" Peter cried out, his fist bawling out to the sky.

Darius began to lead the way as they ran off. "Hurry! We gotta move!"

Everyone ran up the stairway as the monorail was going to make a stop right near their location. The monorail went all over the park but they were near one of the furthest stops before heading for the docks. They needed to hurry if they were going to make it. As they were running for the monorail, they were missing the fact Yaz and Ben were having trouble keeping up due to their incapabilities.

"It's nice havin' some company back here for once," Ben said to Yaz.

Yaz grunted as she was pushing herself the best she could. "I'm fine."

Peter made it to the top and saw that the monorail was taking a few stops meaning they had time to reach the top. This realization sparked a flicker of hope in Peter—perhaps they still had a chance to escape. Escape this madness and terror that they have gone through in recent times.

Peter waved his hand toward the group trailing behind them, signaling for them to slow their pace until they came to a stop. He cautiously peeked out from behind a boulder and glimpsed the massive Carnotaurus, Toro, oblivious to their presence, its sharp senses seemingly unaware of them lurking nearby.

But they needed a distraction to divert Toro's attention. Scanning the area, Peter's eyes settled on a hefty fragment of rubble nearby, its jagged edges stark against the ground. Although it was far too heavy for an ordinary person to lift, Peter felt the surge of strength coursing through him from the spider bite he'd endured. With a determined effort, he gripped the fragment and hurled it as far as his muscles would allow. The stone landed with a resounding crash that echoed through the air, shaking the ground and drawing an immediate response from the Carnotaurus.

The beast's head whipped around, its curious eyes locked onto the disturbance, and it charged toward the source of the noise, leaving them momentarily safe. Seizing the opportunity, Peter dashed forward, urging Darius to follow him. The distraction had bought them precious seconds, and he gestured urgently for the others to join them as they hurried up the worn staircase leading to the monorail station.

As they climbed the steps, the tension was palpable, and just when it seemed they might escape unscathed, Bumpy, in her exuberance, bumped into a cup precariously perched on the edge of a step. The cup teetered for a heart-stopping moment before Brooklynn lunged, her instincts sharp as she reached out to catch it, her fingers just brushing the surface to prevent it from clattering to the ground.

The group continued their ascent, the adrenaline pumping through their veins as they pushed forward. Kenji, his determination unwavering, was the first to reach the summit of the stairway—just in time to see the monorail grinding to a halt, its metal frame gleaming ominously in the dim light.

"Mon-" Kenji said before Brooklynn stopped him.

"Shh!" She told him, not wanting to draw the Carnotaurus to them.

But that was crushed when they saw that the Carnotaurus had approached the stairway, but wasn't focusing on them just yet. Until the doors to the monorail opened. "Welcome to the Jurassic World Lagoon. Next stop, Ferry Landing!"

The Carnotaurus then turns to the stairway, noticing the teens, and roars at them. They all panicked and saw that sneaking up was no longer a plan and they needed to run. Everyone ran as fast as they could while the Carnotaurus came up and almost bit down on Ben, but it slipped on the narrow stairway built for humans, not dinosaurs.

Peter, Darius, and Sammy reached the top when they realized that Ben and Yaz were still missing. Hearing the screams, they looked to see the Carnotaurus slip up and slam the ground, causing the ground to shake and Yaz slipped up. She began to crawl away from the Carnotaurus as it tried to bite down on him.

Peter saw he needed to do something and ran past Darius. "Darius, keep those doors open!"

Darius nodded as he ran to the monorail and saw that Kenji was a step ahead, he put his body in the way of the doors, keeping them from closing and the monorail automatically leaving.

"Please stand clear of the closing doors."

Yaz whimpered as she crawled backward, trying to avoid the jaws of the Carnotaurus. Ben saw she was in danger, but was too frozen from fear to try and even move to save himself.

"Ben! Out of the way!" Peter cried as he ran ahead of Ben, getting him to move upward to reach the monorail. "Toro!" He called out, getting the Carnotaurus' attention as he leaped into the air, his fist raised up high. The Carnotaurus prepared to strike him, but Peter wasn't aiming for the dinosaur. He was aiming for the stairs. He landed right next to Yaz, punching the ground as hard as he could, causing the stairs to begin to tremble as they began to fall apart. "Let's go!" He grabbed Yaz, picking her up by the shoulders and running upward as the stairs continued to fall apart. "Come on, Ben!"

They ran upward and saw Kenji was still getting crushed by the doors. But that was when they finally arrived and shoved Kenji out of the way. They watched the doors closed and saw they were safe from the Carnotaurus. They took a moment to breathe and relax when they saw that they were safe from danger.

"No way," Kenji stated, denying his chance to relax. "Something bad always happens when we think we're safe. Watch. The doors are gonna open." He waited for a good moment, but nothing happened. "Oh, okay, then, the train's gonna stop because that's how this works."

Brooklynn rolled her eyes as she went to sit down. "I'm pretty sure we're safe now."

"Well, we were until you said that." Kenji groaned.

Back at the mosasorus paddock, there was a car driving up and it was Dave and Roxie. They exited the car and used their flashlights to ty and look around for the kids.

"I'll check here, you check the stadium," Dave said, running off to the water.

"Kids?"

"Darius?"

"Brooklynn?"

Roxie looked around at the stadium seats to see if she could find them. "Anybody here?"

That was when Dave got a look and saw the empty kayaks. "Oh, no..."

"They made it out!" Roxie cheered, showing the glasses Kenji left. "These look both posh and tacky enough to be something Kenji would wear."

Dave sighs in relief. "They're okay."

"I know it."

"Welcome to the Jurassic World Lagoon."

That was when they looked over and saw that the monorail was moving off, and the kids were on it.

"The kids? They're alive!"

"Hey, guys!"

"Hey!"

"Kids! Kids! Dang it."

"Attention. All park-goers must report to the South Ferry Dock for immediate evacuation. The last ferry departs in 90 minutes."

"They're headed to the docks!" Roxie put it together.

Dave was happy to hear that as he placed the glasses on. "Then it's time to ship out!"

That was when they heard Toro roaring and were following their voices. Seeing the loose dinosaur, the two counselors panicked as they sneaked off back to the car.

"Or let's just go."

Darius looked out the window and saw that they were leaving Jurassic World. "It's over. Guys, we did it." He told everyone with a sigh of relief. "We're going home."

"Whoo-hoo!" Sammy cheered.

"Yeah!"

"Yes!"

"Yeah!"

"Finally!"

"Alrighty!"

Kenji was still looking out the window, looking out to try and find the next danger.

"It's cool, man. We're good." Peter assured him as he took a sit to relax. "I mean, if anything happens, I can sense it." He slumped back into his seat and sighed. "We'll be at the main dock soon. And we can put all of this... behind us." He however was full of sorrow when he recalled what happened. "All of it..."

"This calls for a celebration." Brooklynn cheered as she took a seat.

"I might be able to help with that," Ben said, pulling out a few bars from his sack. "Stashed a few treats for the road."

"Ooh, sweet!"

'I'm starving!"

"Our little Ben is useful."

But as everyone started to take a bite, they felt something was wrong with this and began retching, spitting the food up.

"This is nasty."

"Get it off! Get it off!"

"Ben, someone stole your candy bars and put dirt in 'em," Sammy tells him.

"They're carob bars," Ben explained. "They pair perfectly with...

"Carob juice." Darius realized that was the juice he was drinking. "Awesome..."

"Carob is nature's chocolate. Just as delicious, with none of the sugar or caffeine." Ben defended.

"Isn't chocolate nature's chocolate?" Peter asked.

"Yeah, what's wrong with sugar and caffeine?" Brooklynn asked, lying over the headrest of the seat. "First thing I'm gonna do when I get home is hug my espresso machine. I may never let go."

"You know..." Kenji said as he stood up and cleared his throat. "I've often described myself as a tall, hot drink."

Everyone groaned when they heard that comparison.

"Come on, man."

"Gross."

"I will throw you off this train. Don't think I don't have any shame." Peter warned him.

"You could never be coffee," Brooklynn stated.

Kenji scoffs. "I could be coffee."

"I cannot wait to be home," Yaz stated. "Once my ankle's better, it's back to training. And I guess finding a new corporate sponsor since mine was Jurassic World."

"But you know It's gonna be weird for things to be normal again," Darius commented. "Like, are video games gonna seem boring now?" He then looked to Kenji "How about you? What's the first thing you'll do when you get home?"

"Depends on which wing of our mansion you're talkin' about. East wing is usually off limits, but Dad and Candy are away on business, so I guess I'll go downstairs to our bowling alley." Kenji chuckles, but it sounds a little forced. "Staff always lets me win. Life of a VIP."

"What about you, Pete?" Yaz called out.

Peter chuckled as he looked at his own reflection, not even recognizing the man in the reflection anymore. He had changed so much in the past week, it was impossible to believe who he once was.

"Oh, well, I gotta go home... and gotta deal with my aunt... god, I didn't even think about here." Peter groaned as he smacked himself for forgetting her. "She is probably going to be freaking out if this stuff has hit the news already." He then sighed as he knew he needed to tell her. "I gotta share with her that dad's gone. That's gonna be fun. Maybe I should leave out the whole, I have a sister who is inside the body of a murderous dinosaur that nearly killed me." That got a light chuckle from the group who were sorry for him. "And then there's these gifts..." He said, raising his fist and clutching it. "What am I going to do? Keep them a secret?"

"You ask me, you should try out for the Avengers," Kenji joked. "Be like their team mascot or something."

Peter gave him a glare at that comment. "I am nobody's show pony." He then sighed. "There was that thing that Dad said that is itching my head... maybe because it was the last thing he told me before... with great power, comes great responsibility." He then groaned as he leaned his head against the glass. "Some power I have. Couldn't even save my dad..."

"What were you going to do?" Brooklynn asked as she walked over and sat aside from him. "fight the Indominous bare-handed with powers you barely understand? I mean, you are talking about throwing a spider against a... help me out here, guys?"

"A scorpion?"

"A bird?"

"A lizard?"

"A vampire?" Everyone looked over at Kenji when he suggested that one. "What?"

"The point is, you might not have saved him, but you saved us." Brooklynn reminded him. "You were spectacular."

"She's right." Darius seemed to agree. "The way you caught Sammy on that watchtower like it was nothing. That was amazing."

Peter chuckled. "Yeah, I will say... it was pretty sensational." He was happy to be surrounded by this kind of people. "So, what have you missed, Ben?"

"Oh. Let me guess, you can't wait to get home to your closet of dork pouches." Kenji joked.

"Brooklynn and Sammy chuckle at his joke.

"Ha, ha. Very funny." Ben said sarcastically.

"Seriously, Ben, you've had juice boxes for days! How much stuff can you fit in that thing?" Darius asks.

"One, lots, and two, obviously the first thing I'm gonna do when I get back is restock it," Ben admitted.

That got them all laughing.

Kenji then spotted some canisters with emergency flashlights. "Check it out." He activates it, imitating a lightsaber powering up, pointing it at them, causing them to flinch and grunt from the light. "I found the first thing at Jurassic World that works!" He then drops it, but then picks it up to see if it still works. "Still works."

"I still can't believe how much went wrong." Brooklynn sighed. "Like that time we almost got eaten?"

"Which time?" Peter asked. "The raptor pen? The Toro incident? The mosasaurs? the Indominous? These are just off the top of my head."

"How was there more than one time?" Yaz laughed.

"Let's all raise our carob juice," Darius said as they all did so. "A toast! To not getting eaten!"

"To not getting eaten!"

"To not getting eaten!"

But then the mistake came when they tried to down the drink. It was the worst mistake of their lives.

"To no more running away!"

"To no more running away!"

"To the return of a low-level gnawing dread rather than an all-encompassing impending doom!" Ben cried.

"Why not!" Peter chuckled

"To what Ben said!" Brooklynn said.

Kenji raised his juice. "Bad doom versus normal doom!"

"I got one," Sammy said, but then there was an explosion causing them to gasp.

"What was that?"

"It sounded like an explosion," Peter said, trying to look out into the jungle.

"Ugh! Not again!"

"I don't see anything," Darius said in relief. "I don't think it was near us. We're okay. We're still okay."

Bumpy groans, getting them to look down, but they are still a little on edge.

"I know camp wasn't what we thought it was gonna be." Sammy went with what she was saying. "But after everything we went through, at least we're leavin' this place with five new friends! To the six of us being best friends for life! Clink!"

That was followed by an awkward silence across the train car.

""No added sugars," wow," Darius said looking at the box.

"Guys?" Sammy was a little confused now. "Hello? Wait, do you guys not see us as friends?"

"I mean..." Brooklynn sighed. "Doesn't it usually take more than a few days to become friends with someone?"

"We were thrown together at random." Yaz reminded her. "We have nothing in common."

"That's not true!" Sammy said. "We've been through more together than most friends have in a lifetime."

"And now that it's over, what are the odds that we'll ever see each other again?" Yaz asks.

"Really?" Peter asked, getting their attention. "Come on, guys, we've got phones... most of us do, sorry Brooklynn." That earned him a tossed empty juice box to the head. "I deserved that. But come on computers, email, letters. You guys act like long-distance relationships aren't a thing. Hell, my parents made things work long distance. My mom alwayd made it work..."

"What was she like?" Ben asked.

"My mom?" Peter laughed as he thought of her. "She... she was great. She was an astronomer." He looked out of the window and looked to the stars. "I remember the many trips we would take to this cabin we had out in the woods. Belonging to my grandfather. Didn't get to meet him, but... the place was great. It was warm. Beautiful. It was like my second home. Me and mom would stare off into the stars while my dad would fix up something. Mom wasn't much of a baker." He laughed as a memory came to mind. "When she tried to make something, someone called the fire department, thinking our house was on fire." That got the others to laugh a little. "She would tell me stories of the stars. How she believed that whenever you were lost, all you would need to do was look up, and you would always find your way home. I knew how to read the stars before I could read properly." He then tried to bring it back to the topic. "Anyway, my dad would always travel on business or lectures, so some nights would just be me and my mom. Some nights we would even FaceChat with him. Even though we were across the world away from one another, we still felt each other's presence. The fact we cared." He then sighed. "She always said that there was no river wide enough, no mountain high enough to keep people apart."

Seems a few of them recognized those lyrics. "Isn't that-"

"Yeah, Mom was a big 60's lover," Peter recalled the song she got it from. "She would always tell me how judging a person when you don't know them is like judging a star on its glow. There is a lot going on that you don't see. So, look, when I got here, I had no interest in any of you, thinking I had you guys all figured out from the get-go." He then looked over to Darius. "Darius, I thought you were just some dinosaur geek, and... well, you are."

"Hey." Darius seemed a little offended. "It's true, but, hey."

"But you also got a big heart. You care for both dinosaurs and people." Peter continued his point. "A lot more to you than I first thought." Then he looked over to Brooklynn. "Brook, I thought you were some weird girl obsessed with views... wait."

"I've got plenty of juice boxes," Brooklynn dared him.

"I'm kidding!" Peter said with a chuckle. "You're actually compassionate underneath that phone. Turn off the camera, and you care and help people. When you put your mind to it." Then another juice box. "Sorry, had to get off one more." He then looked over to Yaz. "Yaz, I thought you were just a shy girl who was more interested in getting the hell out of here the first chance you could."

Yaz blushed a little as she leaned back into her chair.

"See?" Peter said as a joke. "But I know you are much more underneath all of that. You're not just a good runner. You're brave, I mean, you stood up against mosasaurs and survived. You're compassionate. Just a little shy." He then looked at Kenji. "Kenji, when we first met, I thought you were an annoying, stuck-up, rich kid."

Kenji waited a minute for him to continue that thought. "And...?"

"And you are." Peter shrugged.

Kenji scoffed when he heard that.

"And Ben, well... I guess you just haven't figured out what you are good at quite yet." Peter shrugged. "But rest assured, I know there is more to you than the scared kid before us." He then looked at the whole group. "You ask me... we are friends. Even if you guys don't see it or just don't want to see it. I see this group as the only friends I have in the world. We've run away from danger together, rescued each other from certain doom... ask me, that's a friendship worth fighting for."

The group seemed kind of touched by Peter's words as they looked at one another and considered his words. But as time passed, they just decided to relax and spend the last few minutes they had together in peace and quiet. They earned a little rest after everything they had been through.

"Coming up on the right, you'll see our world-renowned 18-hole, dinosaur-themed golf course. It's one of the many wonders that makes this park so very Jurassic."

Brooklynn chuckles. "What does that even mean?"

"I thought I knew," Darius said. "My whole life, I had this idea of Jurassic World. My dad used to say this place was, "All-osaurus and a bag of chips." He was so corny."

"Um, was?" Ben asked.

"So, your dad is..." Kenji guessed.

Darius looking off gave them the idea.

"I'm sorry, Darius," Sammy said. "Ugh! "Sorry." Nice one, Sammy, ya ding-dong! -Like "sorry" could begin to-"

"It's okay," Darius said.

"Hey, at least your dad never saw what a dumpster fire this place turned out to be, huh?" Kenji asked, getting a punch from Peter. "Ow! What? I meant it's cool that Darius and his dad were so close. I could count on one hand the number of times me and my dad have done anything."

"Okay, that's just really sad," Peter stated.

"Yeah." Kenji sighed. "Did I mention I have a bowling alley?"

Ben groaned. "Dang it! Come on, it's gotta be here somewhere." He looked through his bag. "Oh! Bumpy stepped in something icky and I'm low on sanitizer. It's fine. I can make more."

"Make more?" Peter muttered.

"Ben, why are you here?" Kenji finally asked.

"What he means is-" Darius stepped in. "Eh, well, you're scared of dinosaurs and the outdoors, and sometimes the indoors, and germs."

"Whipped cream for some reason?" Peter added.

"The way it moves." Ben shudders.

"Yeah, that's what I'm talking about," Kenji stated. "What's the deal?"

Bumpy squeals.

"My mom works for Mr. Masrani," Ben explained. "She got me into camp. Said it would be a great way for me to "face my fears." It's been a nightmare! I'm sick of being scared all the time. And of running, and of almost getting eaten, and and of holding everyone back. I just can't do this..."

Bumpy groans as she sits at his legs.

"But it's not all bad," Ben said. "If I hadn't come, I- I never would have met-"

Peter's head began buzzing again, causing him to flinch. "Watch-"

There was a crash sound, causing everyone to gasp and look towards the back of the monorail. Trying to peak into the darkness, Darius gasped when he saw what was going on and ran around, grabbed a flashlight, and began attacking the lights.

"Guys, we gotta turn off the lights!" Darius warns them.

That was when it became clear what exactly was attacking them, and it was heard of pteranodons approaching from all sides. Everyone panicked as they then ran around, screaming as they were trying to do as Darius said.

"Flying reptiles are basically seabirds." Darius tried to explain. "They're attracted to shiny, moving objects, and with all these lights on-"

"We're a shiny, moving object!" Sammy was caught up.

Everyone began to grab a flashlight while Peter just grabbed a glove, using his fist to smash the lights. Ben ran over just to see they were out of flashlights.

"What should I do?" Ben asks.

"Just keep out of the way!" Brooklynn said as they continued to smash the lights.

The pteranodons kept on coming for them, but they weren't able to break the glass thanks to the trees in the area that kept smacking them away. They broke all of the lights in the back car and moved onto the next one. As they did so, Peter picked up Bumpy and they ran to the next train car.

Running into the next car, Kenji opened the doors to allow them to get past. As they were running to the next car, the pteranodons shook the cars, causing Yaz to shake as she tried to balance herself. Brooklynn quickly caught her, helping her stand, getting Yaz to look a little irritated. Brooklynn backed off a little as Yaz jumped to the next car. They moved on from car to car, breaking all the lights that they could.

"Smile! You're at Jurassic World." Kenji heard a speaker say. "We hope you're having..." Kenji then smashed it with his flashlight."...a Jurassic time."

They moved onto the last passenger train car and Sammy gasped, seeing something in the distance. They saw that there were a bunch of pteranodons attacking another monorail that looked like it was empty. Hopefully, that was always empty... It also blocked the track from heading to the docks, meaning that they were going to hit it at full speed if they didn't change course.

"At least now we know what that boom was earlier," Sammy commented.

Kenji scoffed as he broke the light. "I told you-"

Brooklynn groaned as she ran past him. "Don't."

"If we don't switch tracks or stop this car right now, we're gonna hit that thing, full speed!" Peter warned them.

"The front car, there's control panels there!" Kenji cried, gesturing ahead of them. "VIP Tour, I was eight, and they let me drive."

Darius run over and tried to open the doors. "No, no, no! Peter! We need-"

As Peter made his way toward the doors, intent on using his strength to pry them open and rescue his companions, a familiar buzzing in his head signaled imminent danger. Turning to his left, he saw a pteranodon smash through the already cracked window. Peter let out a shriek, echoed by the cries of fear from the others, as the creature's claws snatched him up.

The pteranodon burst through a second window, taking Peter along as it tried to take him. However, Peter was not about to be taken so easily; he clung to the monorail with his powers, seized the pteranodon's leg, and with a forceful swing, slammed the dinosaur against the monorail. He shouted as he repelled another approaching pteranodon with a kick. Peter then maneuvered along the side of the train, defending the exterior of the car, battling not just for his own survival, but for the safety of his friends as well.

Peter groaned as he kicked another, quickly swatting away a second. "Enough is enough!" He cried, looking up to the dozens of approaching flying dinosaurs. "I've had enough of these monkey-flying reptiles on this monkey-flying monorail!"

"I'd say Peter isn't going to be able to help us." Brooklynn took a guess.

Darius saw a hatch on the ceiling and ran over. "I'm gonna get to the control car through there."

"You're gonna what?" Sammy asks.

"You can't go out there!" Kenji cried. "That's where the flying whatevers are!"

"e don't have a choice! Me and-" Darius looked over to Ben who whimpered in the corner. "I'm the only one who can fit."

But before he could go, Darius got knocked over by the pteranodons knocking into the monorail. They heard a shriek and saw Peter get slammed against the glass. "Everything is under control!" He then crawled his way downward, drawing the dinosaurs towards the back of the monorail. "Come on!"

Ben saw that they needed more help and he needed to actually do something. He needed to help. He looked down at Bumpy and sighed. "You're gonna be okay."

"Distract the flock while I crawl over the top to the control car," Darius said. "Use the flashlights, keep them away from-"

That was when the hatch squeaked, getting them to look over toward the hatch and see that it was opened. Ben was crawling on the roof, making his way towards the entrance. Darius panicked as he climbed up, trying to avoid the incoming pteradons from all angles.

"Ben! Ben, what are you doing?" Daris cried, trying to reach him.

"I can do this! Just distract them!" Ben cried.

Darius wasn't sure but knew there was no stopping him now. "Come on! We have to keep them away from Ben!"

The kids then waved their flashlights and headed for the back of the monorail to draw them all towards them. Ben reached the front of the monorail and fell downward into the train car, tying to figure out how to control it.

"I can do this. I can do this."

Ben then tried to figure out the controls while Peter grabbed one of the pteradons, smashing them into the glass to give himself an opening. The others shrieked when they saw the glass break, but Peter tossed it away.

Ben then pushed all the buttons he could, causing the monorail to change tracks, skidding off of the other monorail which was sent flying off of the tracks.

"Yeah!"

"Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben!" Everyone cheered as Ben opened the doors.

"You saved us, Ben." Darius said. "I didn't know you had it in you."

Peter groaned as he stumbled to reach the front, he hsd tons of glass and cuts from the pteradons during the attacks. He then sensed the danger coming back again, causing him to look around, wondering where it was coming from. He pushed ahead to try and stop it, but by the time he reached the front, it was too late. A pteradon broke through the glass and grabbed onto Ben. Peter tripped and winced when he looked down and saw that his leg had a large cut from the glass, as well as the pteradon beak that attacked his leg. Ben was being taken away until Darius quickly reached up and grabbed him. The pteradon didn't put up much of a struggle to take him as it dropped him, leaving him dangling off the ledge of the monorail.

"Ben!" Darius cried.

"Darius! No! No! NO!" Ben cried as he hung onto him.

Darius clung desperately to Ben, his fingers straining against the slick, unyielding surface beneath them that passed by as the monorail continued. The combined weight of Ben, the threat of the pterodactyls above, the urgency of their situation, and the stark reality of being just a kid made his grip feel fragile, as if it could shatter at any moment. He fought to maintain his hold, heart racing and muscles screaming in protest, but as the struggle wore on, the unthinkable happened.

With a sickening jolt, Ben slipped from Darius's grasp, and time seemed to freeze as he plummeted into the jungle below. Darius's eyes widened in horror, his mind racing with panic as he watched his friend fall, surrounded by the vast expanse of trees. A pack of menacing pterodons swooped down, their dark forms casting ominous shadows over Ben, like harbingers of doom sealing his fate.

The campers could only stand frozen in place, a blend of terror and helplessness washing over them as the realization set in: they had lost Ben. The air was thick with an unbearable silence, punctuated only by the distant cries of the pterodons echoing through the sky, a haunting reminder of their grim reality.
