The group were still staring off into the jungle where they saw that there was indeed a manmade fire in the distance, meaning that there had to be other people here on the island.

"It can't be."

"Is it?"

"I'm seeing it, too."

"That is most def a bonfire."

"People. People!"

"Someone got our SOS signal." Kenji cheered.

"Well, it could also be other people who were left behind," Peter quickly tried to stop them from getting their hopes up too high.

"Let's go find out!" Darius cried as they raced for the ladder.

Peter shrugged and dodged as he leaped over the railing and landed on his feet. Yaz bumped into him as they ran past him purposefully.

"Show off!" Yaz cried as she kept running.

They then began to run in the direction that the bonfire was coming from. They kept running and didn't stop for anything, only to take a few stops for Peter to climb up a tree to see if he could spot the fire.

"Oh, we're almost there," Peter called, getting a cheer from the group.

They then kept running and Peter climbed another tree but froze when he saw that the bonfire had been put out.

"The bonfire, it's gone," Peter said as he slid down.

That caused everyone to gasp. "What if they left?" Sammy asks. "What if the people who came to save us gave up and we missed our chance?"

Peter then sensed something, getting him to look and see as something was approaching them. "Guys? We need to run..."

"What?" Kenji asks.

"Run!" Peter cried, pushing them forward. "Run!"

That was when a Giganotosaurus came charging out of the trees and roared, causing them to scream and follow Peter. They ran through the woods as fast as they could, trying their best to avoid the dinosaur. But that didn't end well when Kenji tripped and the Gigantotosaurus began to loom over him. Peter was about to charge at them, but that was before a sudden spear appeared, landing between Kenji and the dinosaur.

They wondered where the spear came from as they heard a yell from the trees, almost sounding like a lion. They looked up into the trees and noticed that there was a man in the trees...

What they saw was a behemoth of a man, towering over the average human and having a bulky, muscular build. He sports a black and grey beard, as well as black hair with a man bun in the back. He apparently does not wear a shirt, exposing his muscles, covered by a black and yellow tactical vest patterned to display the lion of what had to be a family crest. At the top of the said vest, there is a huge collar made out of a brown lion's mane. He also has multiple animal skulls he wears, such as one on his waist, right arm, and more. He also has multiple pieces of animal skin and fur stitched into his clothes. And finally, he has a necklace showing predator fangs.

The Giganotosaurus roared right back at him, but the man didn't stop there as he leaped out of the tree, and to everyone's shock, he raced forward, grabbing the spear and spinning it, getting the Giganotosaurus to focus on him. That was when shots were heard and three other people came from the bushes, pushing the kids back behind a fallen tree.

The explosions turned out to be flares and gunshots from the other three as they seemed to be enough to scare the Giganotosaurus away. The four of them then looked back at the children, seeing they were all right as the sun began to rise.

"Oh, thank goodness. You're okay." The woman of the group said, dressed like she was on an African safari.

"You are okay, aren't you?" The man dressed in a similar manner asked.

"Who... Who are you?" Peter wonders.

"Well, after all that, maybe you should call us your salvation." The woman said.

They were then walking towards a certain location while the other man dressed in more jungle tactical gear and the man with the spear as they cleared a path for them.

"We could not believe it when we saw your campfire," Brooklynn said.

"Did you get left behind, too?" Yaz wonders.

"Not looking like that, they didn't," Kenji stated.

"Yeah. Are you, like, some super stylish rescue squad?" Sammy wonders.

"Guys, take a breath. We don't even know your names." Darius tells them.

"I'm Mitch, and my better half here is Tiff." The man introduced them. "We're eco-tourists."

"That's a fancy way of saying we travel to exotic places and photograph rare animals," Tiff explained.

"I know Simon Masrani. Or knew." Kenji said.

"When we heard what happened here, we were, like, zoop!" Tiff said.

"Zoop! Gotta get down here." Mitch confirmed. "I was fine taking snaps of lions and tigers, but...

"Pics of dinosaurs in the wild?" Mich continued. "You don't pass that up, do you, babe?"

"I guess you don't, babe," Tiff said.

Sammy began laughing.

"I travel, too!" Brooklynn said. "Before we got stuck here, obvi. Have you seen my videos? Brooklynn Unboxes the World?" He then saw their looks. "The web channel?"

"When we activated the emergency distress beacon, we hoped someone would get our signal," Darius said. "I kind of can't believe it worked."

"Oh, yes, the signal," Tiff said. "Honey, remember when we got that? It was right after the boat dropped us off."

Peter for some reason felt like something was off. Especially when he looked ahead and watched the man with the spear stop and turn to face the couple. Peter didn't like that look... that looked like a parent catching their kid in a lie... weird. Who was that guy?

"That's our tour guide, Hap," Mich explained the man ahead. "Came highly recommended. Knows cameras and the outdoors like the back of his hand, but not much of a talker." He then gestured to the other man with the spear. "Now him... oh, he is a special one. Can't believe we actually got him. Sergi Kravinoff."

"But he prefers to be called Kraven," Tiff tells the kids. "He is wildly known as the world's greatest hunter."

"Hunter?" Darius asked, looking towards Kraven.

"Yeah, I don't get it either, but it's said that he hunted every animal in the world. He says it has something to do with predators and prey for him. I don't know, he is a skilled warrior, and when we managed to get him, I was not going to question it." Mich explained further, only raising more questions. "Almost there, right, Hap?"

They heard Hap grunt as he cut through the jungle with Kraven cutting down a tree with his spear alone. That alone explained to them what they meant by how much they don't talk on the job.

They then made it through the bushes and found fancy-looking tents that were set up and even a table in the middle of the area.

"Our camp's not much, but hopefully you'll be okay roughing it with us," Mich says.

"Oh, my gosh!"

"Oh, is this a dream?"

"Out of my way!" Yaz cried as she pushed through, wanting to take it all in.

Peter sensed something again and looked off into the jungle. Ever since his encounter back at the labs, he feels like his sixth sense is trying to tell him something, and he can't seem to figure out what it is.

"You feel it?" Kraven asked, walking over towards Peter, revealing a heavy Russian accent. His towering figure spooked Peter as he tried not to draw his attention. "The eyes... this jungle... predators and prey everywhere."

"You... know much about that?" Peter asks.

"I know everything about it," Kraven told the young boy. "Tell me, how did you cubs end up alone from your pack?"

Peter chuckled. "It's a long story... basically, we were separated from our camp counselors, and we were left behind."

Kraven showed what Peter guessed was a sorrow to hear that. He kneeled down and looked into Peter's eyes as if trying to see something. "I see something inside of you..." Peter wasn't sure where this was going... "A survivor." Oh, that's where this was going. "Your group. You work as a pack, do you not?"

"I... guess," Peter said as he looked over Kraven's attire. "So, you are a hunter... did you come here to hunt these creatures?"

Kraven chuckled when he heard that question. "No..." He proclaimed as he stood up. "I am not that kind of hunter."

"Then what kind of hunter are you?" Peter wonders.

"I came here because I craved a new challenge," Kraven stated as he looked around. "I do not hunt to kill... I hunt to prove I am the top predator."

"And those... skulls?" Peter asked, looking towards the his outfit attire.

"You must kill at least one, to prove that you have battled the greatest of predators." Kraven proclaimed as he stepped back and showed the creatures he had killed. "Otherwise, how can you prove to others that you have fought that without proof? But I am more than just some hunter. I love to study animals. Their patterns, their behaviors, their hunting grounds. Many travel in packs, and they have plenty of defenses."

Peter chuckled. "You should talk to Darius, he loves to hear about that kind of thing," He stated, gesturing towards the group who were still searching the tents. "Even has a book for it."

Kraven looked over towards the group and nodded, watching as Peter walked off, accidentally dropping the book that he was carrying. Kraven reached down grabbed it and turned it over. "Boy, you..." That was when he saw there was a drawing sketched out that Yaz put in as a joke.

SPIDER-MAN

Kraven looked over and saw that the photo was one Yaz caught mentally of when he was fighting Scorpion and knocking him off the cliff. "What is this?" Kraven whispered as he looked over the other creatures that had sketches of themselves in the book:

SCORPION

VULTURE

RHINO

X-23

INDOMINOUS

"Oh, sorry," Peter said as he walked over and took the book back. "That... it belonged to my father... before... a dinosaur..."

Kraven nodded in sympathy when he heard that. "I apologize for prying. But if I may ask..."

Peter shrugged. "They're what my dad called Cross-Species." He said, remembering that name in the book. "Traits of animals mixed in with human DNA."

"Cross-Species?" Kraven seemed intrigued with the idea. "And you have come across some of these?"

"Well, yeah," Peter shrugged. "Spider-Man, I don't know... who he is." He tried to come off as convincing as possible. "But he has been helping us out."

"And where would he be now?" Kraven wonders.

"Somewhere out there," Peter tried to get the attention off of it. "He doesn't exactly have a phone."

Kraven nodded as he then walked off, heading off into the jungle it seems. Peter thought nothing of it just as his friends all ran over and crowded around the table.

"A can opener?" Sammy asked as she picked up the device and fell to her knees. "Do you know how long I spent trying to open those cans of fruit we found?" She whimpered. "It almost broke me."

"My goodness, I can't imagine how hungry you all must be," Tiff said in sorrow. 'Would you like some breakfast?"

They didn't need to be asked twice as they were given a whole buffet of actual food to eat. Bacon, eggs, toast, and water. Darius was telling the stories that they had been through. Luckily he was smart enough to leave out the details of Spider-Man and Peter's powers.

"After that, we escaped another dinosaur attack, and another one." Darius continued on after they were left behind. "And then we saw your bonfire..."

"This is like cooking back home," Sammy said.

"...and you saved us from a dinosaur attack," Darius said.

"So... many... attacks," Yaz said in disbelief.

"And here you are, after all you've been through. Camp destroyed, being abandoned, losing your, father, your friend...Oh!" Tiff said in sorrow, getting everyone to slow down.

"Don't be a downer, babe," Mich said. "They're with us now and they're safe. And when our boat comes back in a couple of days-

"After it refuels in Papagayo." Tiff added.

"After it refuels in Papagayo, we'll get you back to the mainland." Mich finished.

"We're leaving in two days?" Darius asks.

"Is this really happening?" Sammy asked in shock.

"It is, sweetie. You're going home." Tiff promises.

"Everyone cheered to hear that, but Peter still felt like something was off. He looked out to the jungle and noticed Kraven was still missing... "Where's Kraven?"

"Oh, the big guy likes to hunt for his own food," Tiff explained.

"Yeah, he somehow manages to survive off of grubs and even a boar," Mich said as he showed Darius his camera. "Hey, you wanna see some pics we took of Big Five animals in Botswana?"

"Oh! These are so cool!" Darius said looking over the camera.

"I'm gonna go check something out, Kenji," Peter whispered to the only person who might not try and stop him and might even forget to tell everyone until it was too late to stop him. "Tell everyone I will be back."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, dude," Kenji said, giving Peter the chance to leave. "The camera does the work for you." He stated, focusing more on Darius and Mich. "I've also got a JC-1000." He saw that got no reaction. "Actually, I've got a JC-3000. Prototype, never been on the market-"

"Got any dinosaur shots?" Darius asks.

"Unfortunately, not yet," Mich said. "Personally, I had my sights set on the T. rex. I can't wait to see its craniofacial biting behavior in action. Sorry. I can be a bit of a nerd

about dinosaurs."

"Craniofacial talk? I'll bite." Darius stated but then heard himself. "Sorry. That was... That was terrible."

"Looks like we both need muzzles." Mich continued.

"I know, right?" Darius said laughing.

Peter swung from vine to vine, navigating the dense jungle in search of Kraven. As he scanned his surroundings, trying to pinpoint his location, his instincts suddenly kicked in, warning him of an incoming threat. With a swift move to the right, he narrowly avoided a spear that whizzed by, nearly skewering him. The close call sent him tumbling to the forest floor, where he caught sight of Kraven, the thrower of the spear.

"You must be Spider-Man," Kraven greeted. "Agile. I like. Impressive. Yet you didn't see as I hunted you for a while. You are raw. Inexperienced."

"And you are...?" Peter asked, making it seem like this was the first time they met.

"They call me Kraven... The Hunter!" Kraven proclaimed in pride. "You are hunting for the children?"

"Let's just say I have an interest in keeping them alive," Peter stated as he and Kraven circled each other. "What's your angle for being here?"

"Then it seems we are our own allies," Kraven said with pride. "These children should not be here. They must be allowed to go home."

"What's stopping you?" Peter wonders.

Kraven sighed as he looked out to the jungle. "For as long as I can remember, I have looked for an equal. One who could push me, one who could surprise me. One who could even beat me. Yet all I found was disappointment." He then showed the book Peter had, shocking him that he managed to slip the book from Peter's nose. "That is... until I discovered this." He then showed the pages. "I wish not to leave until I hunt one of these..."

Peter looked down at the pages and up to Kraven. He came here to hunt dinosaurs and was settling for these Cross-Species creatures. "And what happens when you accomplish the task?"

"I will gladly leave," Kraven stated. "For as you see... there is a ship here on the island..."

Peter froze when he heard that. They said that the ship was refilling and yet Kraven is admitting that the boat is here on the island?

"Help me secure my prize... and I will personally ensure that these children escape the island..." Kraven promises Spider-Man.

Peter wasn't sure what to think. These Cross-Species were animals with human DNA, but it is not like he could just locate them. "What would you need me to do?"

"I need you to help," Kraven said as he showed that apparently he could read through the stampede pages. "It says that these Cross-Species can sense one another's presence. Similar to how a platypus hunts its prey... it can locate other Cross-Species... and I need only bait..."

Peter wondered what to do but figured trying this out once wouldn't hurt... "Okay, let's give this a trial run before I agree to this."

Kraven nodded as he and Peter shook hands, wanting to see how this turned out.

"All right, why don't you kids freshen up while we clear the table?" Tiff asks the group as they finish eating. "It's a little primitive, sorry. In the bathroom yurt you'll find a solar-powered shower and a heated toilet.

Sammy stood up as she was gulping down the drink and ran over to Tiff to hug her. "I love you! It's fine if you don't say it back." She giggles. "Love you!"

Brooklynn accidentally dropped the ID badge and Hap picked it up. "Hey, that's mine." She tells him as she tries taking it back but he just stares at her. "Can you?" That was when he finally released it, giving Brooklynn a sense of dread as she backed off and headed off.

"Brooklynn, come on," Darius called out.

A small walking distance from the camp, Tiff, Mich, and Hap were talking while they weren't aware they were being watched by someone.

"It's not as dire as you think, babe," Tiff said.

"Really?" Mich asks. "'Cause I think it's super dire, Mitch!" That was when Hap approached them. "Hap! Just the man we wanted to see. Where are the kids?"

"Still in the bathroom yurt," Hap answered. "The chatty Internet one is getting suspicious."

"Hap, buddy, relax." Mich didn't seem to be afraid. "We've got a plan and we'll fill you in later." He then noticed one of them was missing. "Where is Kraven?"

"Likely still off hunting something," Hap shrugged.

"Well, let's hope he gets back, and let's head back before they realize we're gone," Mich said as they walked off back to camp.

Peter decided to just show Kraven the last location where they found the Scorpion creature. He showed the trees that the monster was trapped in when they fought a while back.

"This is where I left him," Peter said, gesturing to the area. "Knocked him down here, hoping that it would give me the time to get those kids to safety."

Kraven reached down and caressed the ground as if there was something there. He lifted it to his face and gave it a sniff, as if he was expecting to smell something. But to Peter's disbelief, he did manage to smell something.

"Poison." Kraven stated, "Chlorotoxin.

"What?" Peter asks.

"It is neurotoxin, affects the nervous system," Kraven explained. "I have studied many arachnid in my youth."

"You definitely seem like the type to do that," Peter muttered to himself.

"Your Scorpion carries the same type of venom," Kraven stated. "But it is like a snakelet. A child snake. It doesn't know how to control the poison. It leaks... and it leaves a trail..." He then slammed the spear into the poison as if the pinpoint where it was. "A trail, which we can hunt!"

Peter wasn't sure how to feel, but this guy was actually growing on him... "Okay, and where is it going?"

"If it can sense Cross-Species... perhaps it has been following you," Kraven gestured off towards the camp the kids were currently in. "And it must have followed our light, found your scent..."

"That means the others could be in danger!" Peter cried as he ran off ahead.

Kraven watched as he ran off and nodded. "That is the instinct of a pack leader..."

"Pre-pasted toothbrushes?" Sammy asked in shock as she looked around the bathroom. "What are we, royalty?" She gasped as she looked around the sink. "Four kinds of hand cream?! Eeh! Little soap peacocks!"

"Please, this is all so basic." Kenji groaned. "If you guys had seen my penthouse-"

"Ssh," Brooklynn said. "I can't prove it yet, but I think... there's something going on with Hap." She stated, keeping eyes on the doorway. "He dodged all my questions and was really weird about the key card I found in Wu's lab. Mitch and Tiff are clueless. She's too "golly goodness" to notice anything, and all he thinks about is dinosaurs."

"What's wrong with that?" Darius asks.

"No, I..." Brooklynn sighed when she heard herself. "I'm just saying Hap's suspicious. He's gruff, and unsmiling, and-"

"What's wrong with that?" Darius asks.

"I don't mean... Look, could Hap be involved with Mantah Corp?" Brooklynn asks. "Am I crazy?"

"I mean, the Mantah Corp folks who sent me were like corporate spies, not action-man, secret-identity, pew-pew spies," Sammy admitted.

"Okay, what about that Kraven guy?" Brooklynn asks. "He's this big game hunter and-"

"Look, I know you've got conspiracy on the brain, Brooklynn, but forget Hap," Darius said. "In two days, we're going home. Let's focus on that."

"Don't worry, Brooklynn," Sammy said. "Just in case, we'll keep our eyes open."

That ended with Sammy on a chair getting a message from Tiff while Darius looked over photos with Mich, and Yaz finally relaxed.

"Amazing, right?" Tiff asks. "I have a Reiki healer back home who showed me a few tricks. Miracle worker."

"Wow!" Darius said in the photos.

Brooklynn was watching as Hap made his way behind a shed and was a little confused as to why she hadn't seen Kraven recently. "Hey, Kenji, did Peter say anything to you?"

"Oh," Kenji forgot to tell them. "Right, he said he was going to go out as his... alter? Whatever we call it, he went out to find Kraven."

Brooklynn was shocked when she heard that but figured that Kraven wasn't going to hunt Peter. Or at least as Spider-Man... right? That was when Hap went behind a shed and she started to follow.

Peter was racing ahead of Kraven, surprised by how fast he was chasing after Scorpion. As he leaped and ran across the trees, he panted as he actually felt out of breath. He had run all the way from further than the camp, almost all of the way towards the camp.

"You are fast," Kraven said as he caught up with him. "Almost as fast as me..."

"How... do you do it?" Peter wonders.

"Honoring my body, strengthening it to its fullest potential," Kraven proclaimed. "I have seen you... how you carry yourself. You are like a lost child..." Peter had to admit, he did hit the nail on the head there. "You lack someone to guide you. To help you become a man." He places a hand on Peter's shoulder. "I have no son of my own... and I do not wish for my training to die with me. Let us work together on this. Hunt this Scorpion, it will be the ultimate hunt. Let us do together, be there for each other."

Peter had to say, Kraven was actually growing on him. "Okay..."

Back at the camp, things didn't go as well as Brooklynn could have hoped when she tried to sneak into Hap's tent to see what he was hiding. He seemed to have had a sensor that let out an alert when she got inside and Darius wasn't exactly pleased with that. They got back to the bathroom to talk.

"Really? There isn't anywhere else we can talk?" Yaz asked with a sarcastic tone.

"Hap is hiding something!" Brooklynn stated. "Why put an alarm on a yurt?"

"Uh, so a dinosaur, or you can't sneak in and wreck his stuff?" Yaz guessed.

"I was there, too, and that alarm was definitely crepuscing me out," Kenji stated.

Darius scoffs. "Typical."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Brooklynn asked.

"You can't just let this conspiracy stuff go, huh?" Darius asks. "And for what? A new video to boost your followers?"

Brooklynn was confused when she heard that. "Who said anything about followers? You think I'm doing this to get attention?"

"Yes! That's your whole deal." Darius proclaimed. "You're mad Mitch and Tiff haven't heard of you, and now you're doing this."

"And what's your whole deal, Darius?" Brooklynn asks. "Dinosaurs? You care more about them than actual people."

"That's hilarious!" Darius stated. "You calling me selfish."

"You're obsessed." Brooklynn proclaimed. "Just because Mitch is acting all "cool dad" with you doesn't..." That was when she heard herself and saw how hurt Darius was. "No, Darius. I didn't-" He didn't stop and walked off from the group.

"Not cool, superstar," Yaz said as she walked off, wondering where Peter had gotten up to.

Scorpion was indeed making his way across the jungle with a snarl, spiffing the air to search for the scent Peter left. Scorpions couldn't track... must have been something to do with the DNA altering. That was when Scorpion was coming across a Stegosaurus. The creature roared at Scorpion as he snarled back, his ear-pitched screech filling the air.

"Let's get him!" Peter proclaimed.

"Wait!" Kraven stopped him from interfering. "You can only truly know your prey by watching him stalk his own..."

But when the Scorpion was preparing to fight the Stegosaurus, he stopped and sniffed the air, looking off away from the area. "Peter?"

Peter recognized that voice. "Yaz..."

Scorpion snarled as he zipped into the bushes towards his voice. Scorpion was there with Peter. He must have also picked up her scent in the process... a good thing Kenji didn't have any more of that smelly soap he used at camp, Scorpion would be able to pinpoint him a mile away.

Oh, right, Yaz was in danger!

Peter quickly leaped into the air and rolled onto the ground, ignoring Kraven's protests. "Wait!"

"Peter?" Yaz called out again. That was when she heard the bushes rustling and she backed off, expecting a dinosaur to come out. "Peter...?"

But that was when Scorpion came out and leaped into the air to strike. Yaz screamed out in terror as the creature was coming down over her. That was when Peter came out of the bushes and tackled the Scorpion away from Yaz.

"Are you okay?" Peter asked Yaz.

"Yeah..." Yaz said.

Peter eyed Scorpion, his eyes narrowing as he assessed the creature. "Alright, big guy, let's see what you've got!" he quipped, crouching into a ready stance.

The Scorpion let out a guttural growl, its segmented body glistening under the dappled sunlight. With a swift motion, it lunged at Peter, its stinger aiming for the agile hero. But he was quicker; he somersaulted out of the way, using his finally working web shooters to launch a strand of webbing at the Scorpion's claws, temporarily immobilizing them.

"You'll have to do better than that!" he taunted, flipping back onto a higher branch, further from Yaz to get Scorpion away from him.

The Scorpion thrashed violently, breaking free from the sticky webbing. Its eyes glowed with a predatory rage as it launched another attack, this time with its powerful pincers.

Peter quickly dodged and rolled, using the momentum to kick off a nearby tree and propel himself toward the Scorpion. He delivered a swift punch to the creature's face, momentarily stunning it. Seizing the opportunity, he shot webs at its eyes, obscuring its vision.

With the Scorpion momentarily disoriented, Peter quickly climbed higher into the canopy, strategizing his next move. He knew he had to be smart; brute strength wouldn't win this battle. As the Scorpion thrashed about, trying to clear its eyes, Peter decided to use the environment to his advantage.

He spotted a cluster of thick vines hanging from a nearby tree and quickly swung down, grabbing the vines to create a makeshift trap. As the Scorpion regained its sight, it charged at its enemy, but the hero was ready. He leaped aside, letting the creature crash into the vines, which ensnared its claws and stinger.

"Looks like you've been tangled up in your own web!" Peter laughed, watching as the Scorpion struggled. With a final push, he used his web shooters to bind the creature fully, ensuring it so it couldn't harm them. He then watched the creature cut itself out of the web and scurry off into the jungle...

With the Scorpion finally gone, Peter began catching his breath. "Next time, maybe stick to the desert," he said, offering a wry smile. The jungle was quiet once more, he then ran over to Yaz as she got back up. "You good?"

"When did you get those working?" Yaz wonders.

"Last night during that party," Peter shrugged. "What are you doing out here?"

"Looking for you," Yaz said. "There was a lot going on with the others... I just needed a break from their drama."

"Drama?" Peter asked, just when Kraven dropped down, secretly watching the whole scenario. "Oh, what happened to 'we will do this together' oh so mighty hunter?"

"You ignored my advice," Kraven stated. "So, I figured you preferred to handle matters yourself."

"You expect me to stand there and watch him hurt someone I love?" Peter asked him, not realizing what he just said.

Yaz however heard it loud and clear. She wasn't sure if he meant that more like how a friend loves a friend, or as something more... is it wrong she hoped for the ladder?

"I am trying to unleash the killer instincts in you, boy!" Kraven stated. "The one you try so hard to deny!"

"That's not who I am, nor do I want to be!" Peter proclaimed.

Kraven sighed as he walked over and towered over Peter. "Then there will always be a better predator... than you!"

Peter didn't even sense just as Kraven injected his shoulder with some sort of toxin that began to cloud his mind. "What...?"

Kraven sighed as he watched Peter stumble. "I thought you could be something... but I guess bait will have to suffice."

"What? Bait?" Peter got out as he fell over.

"No!" Yaz ran over just as Kraven injected her with the same toxin.

Yaz fell over beside Peter as their eyes were getting too heavy to stay awake and they tried to reach one another to escape.

So, things only got worse as Kenji and Brooklynn overheard that Hap was going to 'take care of the kids' and ran off into the jungle to escape him. Sammy and Darius were with Mich and Tiff deep in the jungle, and Darius mentioned the watering hole, and the book he made about the dinosaurs while they were staying there.

"Babe, you okay?" Mich asks.

"You know, babe, I think we should pack up, and head back to camp," Tiff said.

"Uh, what's going on?" Sammy wonders.

"Oh, nothing big," Tiff said. "Just an odd conversation with Hap. Why don't we go? Now, okay?"

"Okay," Mich said as he followed along.

"Do you think...?" Sammy wonders.

"I'm sure everything's fine." Darius sighed as he walked off.

Returning to the camp, they noticed that basically everyone was missing.

"Guys!"

"Brooklynn!"

"Kenji!"

"Yaz!"

"Peter!"

"He's not in the bathroom either," Tiff said. "Children, Mitchell and I are gonna have a quick grown-up conference. You stay put. We'll BRB, okay? -Mitch, I am telling you...

"Relax," Mich said.

"...this is ridiculously off track."

Deep in the jungle, Brooklynn and Kenji were running as fast as they could to get away from Hap. But as they were running, they noticed he was carrying a cattle rod, getting them to want to run even faster.

But as they were running, Hap managed to grab Brooklynn and used her to stop Kenji, getting them to fall over. "I told you to stay put!" He stated as he backed them against a fallen tree. "You have no idea who you're dealing-"

That was when he was whacked over the head by a stump from... BEN!?

Ben stood there, wearing part of his clothes over his head as a bandana that had been ripped off. His undershirt was cut and torn, his entire body filled with mud and dirt, and next to him was a grown-up ankylosaurus they assumed had to be Bumpy.

"Ben?"

"What? You've never seen a ghost before?" Ben asked as he stood tall.

Meanwhile, Peter was groaning as Yaz was kneeling over him, trying to wake him up. "Peter?! Peter, wake up."

Peter groaned as he began to wake up. "What?" He looked around and noticed they were in a clearing surrounded by trees from all sides. "Where are we?"

"I don't know, I just woke up here," Yaz said.

Peter felt two areas where he was injected. "Kraven gave us an antidote."

"He poisoned us just to drop us off in the middle of nowhere?" Yaz asked as she looked around. "Why?"

Peter then remembered what he said. "Because he wants to use me... to lure out any other cross-breeds out there."

They heard rustling in the bushes and Yaz picked up a piece of wood to protect herself. "How many are there again?"

"From what the book said, about five others..." Peter didn't remember them all to be honest. "Including the Indominous."

"Minus Scorpion, that's at least three..." Yaz said in terror.

"Yaz, I need you to run," Peter whispered, hearing his senses alert him of something. "It only wants me, not you. Kraven only took you because of me. So, you need to run."

"I am not leaving you," Yaz stated.

"Yaz, I can handle myself, but I can't handle myself and keep you safe, so run!" Peter demands her, not wanting to risk Yaz to fight this thing.

Yaz grasped his reasoning and opted to remain silent, dashing towards the bushes. Meanwhile, Peter remained in the clearing, surveying his surroundings, bracing for an impending attack. With his web shooters at the ready, he turned in a slow circle, anticipating the enemy's first move.

"Come out, come out wherever you are," Peter softly sang as a joke as he circled himself. "What is it this time, Dad? A vampire? A giant lizard? Evil octopus? I mean, how many variations of animals can you go through until-"

Suddenly, he was ambushed from behind, unable to detect the source of the attack. Peter felt a piercing pain as four metallic claws stabbed into his hips from both sides. He stood paralyzed for a moment, looking down in horror before letting out a scream. Although he knew he would eventually recover, the pain was intense.

That was when he was raised up, dangling from the claws as he struggled to react after the stab. He heard a feminine scream of anger as he realized that this one was a woman (or maybe Scorpion was also a woman, he didn't take the time to check). That was when he took into account what was about to happen.

"Wait! No, oh, god, not the Bane!" Peter cried in terror. "Don't-" The cross-species then slammed Peter against her knee, breaking Peter's back in the process as he fell onto the ground. "Agh! She Bane'd me!"

That was when the cross-species grabbed Peter by the leg and tossed him aside, watching as he tumbled backward and slammed against a tree. That worked in his favor as it ended up improving his back.

"Ow..."

It was at that moment Peter managed to get a clear view of the young woman attacking him. She was dressed in a tight sports bra and form-fitting pants, both splattered with mud, paired with unusual black combat boots. Her disheveled raven-black hair tumbled past her shoulders. Adopting a feral stance, she revealed four blade-like claws extending from between her knuckles and let out a menacing snarl in Peter's direction.

"X-23." Peter finally recognized which one this was supposed to be. "How the hell did dad get Wolverine's DNA?" That was when he finally recognized the face. 'Wait... did he add Teresa's DNA to this one too?' He thought to himself. "Is there a chance we can talk this out?"

"Well, isn't this a surprise?" Kraven asked from on top of a cliff. "It seems this one also hates you." He then showed the book. "Richard Parker experimented on these creatures. They seem to remember him. And his scent. A scent...passed down from father to son, Mr. Parker..." Peter should have guessed Kraven would have figured out who he was as he looked to X-23 who looked ready to pounce. "Now, I shall see which of you is worthy of being my greatest hunt! A fight... to the death. Or die here together!"

Peter looked over to X-23 and wondered if he could reason with her. "Listen to me, X-23... I don't wanna hurt you. He wants us to kill each other for sport. But we can be better than that... right?"

X-23 didn't seem to share his belief as she looked up at him and snarled through her locks of hair. "Let's... fucking... GO!"

X-23 let out a scream as she ran towards Peter with her claws ready to pounce, digging into the ground as she raced forward. Peter saw that he had no alternative and shot out a strand of webbing to attack her with. X-23 leaped into the air and her claws were raised high as she was preparing to embed them into Peter.
