"The State Fair is starting next week, Cathy," one of Catherine's sisters told her. She had been home a few days now.
"That's nice," she said.
"You're usually excited about that," her mother said. "I hope you're not expecting fancy expensive vacations all the time now. It was a nice treat to go on that cruise, but there's a lot of nice things happening around here."
"I promise I'm not turning into some kind of snob," Catherine insisted.
"You made a comment about the bread this morning," her mother reminded her.
"I'm sorry, I just really liked the French bread."
