Chapter 7: Love, Marriage, and Babies
Agent BM: You got that right.
After that day, things changed a lot for Honey. She and the bank managed to find a nice spot for the store to go, it was in a plaza surrounded by other small businesses. Things were also going well for Zeke.
He found a job at an advertising agency, and used his resources to help get Honey's new store got the right publicity. In that time, Honey and Zeke managed to save some money to rent a small apartment for the two of them.
The two found it much more comfortable than a hotel.
It took a while, but eventually the store was up and ready. Honey was really excited for the grand opening. When she told her parents, they caught a plane to New York so they could witness this big moment for their daughter.
Honey dressed in a nice outfit consisting of a yellow blouse, black pants, and low black heels.
"How do I look, Z?" she asked.
Zeke was dressed in a white dress shirt, black pants, and shoes.
"You look great, Honey."
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it." Honey told him.
She went to the door, opened it, and saw her parents.
"Mom, Dad you made it." she said happily.
And she hugged them.
"We wouldn't miss this for the world." Wanda told her.
"You finally got your store." Trevor said.
Then Zeke stepped out.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Potts." he greeted.
"Hello, Zeke." greeted Wanda.
"How're you doing?" asked Trevor.
"Fine, Mr. Potts."
"Well we better get going." Honey told.
Wanda, Trevor, and Zeke left first while Honey got her purse and her bees.
"This is it guys." she told them.
"We'll be with you every step of the way." said Buzz.
"This is gonna be great." Bumble told her.
"Let's get this show on the road." Stinger replied.
And they walked out the door.
At the store, a crowd gathered around the entrance of Honey's new store. Honey stood at the entrance with her bees flying next to her.
"I'd like to thank you all for coming out for the opening of my new store, "Honey's Hive"." she announced.
Everyone clapped.
"And I with that...I declare this store open!"
She cut the ribbon in front of the door, and everyone cheered, and then went inside the store. The Potts family and Zeke went in last, and mingled among the people.
The grand opening turned out to be a success. People bought many products, and the new workers kept busy. By closing time, Honey felt very happy and satisfied. To celebrate, Honey and her family and boyfriend went to dinner at Olive Garden.
"This was the best day of my life." Honey told, as she ate her salad.
"We're proud of you, Honey." Wanda told her daughter.
"You finally got your business." added Trevor.
"I knew you could do it." Zeke said.
"It's the start of something wonderful." Honey replied.
And indeed it was, the store always had customers, and depending on what time of day it was it was usually pretty busy. It was making pretty good profits. Zeke was also doing well with his job. They even saved enough to buy a small house.
One evening, Honey and her bees came home from a rather long and hard day of work.
"Whew, what a day." said Honey.
"You can say that again." agreed Buzz.
"Yeah, I'm bushed." added Bumble.
"Let's get you guys charged."
"Sounds good to me." replied Stinger.
She took her bees upstairs, put them in her office, and set them on their charging station. They closed their eyes and went down. And Honey then left them in there with the door closed.
"Now time for a nice shower." she told herself.
She always like to take a shower when she got home from work. But when she went inside hers and Zeke's room, she heard water coming from the bathroom.
"Zeke, that you?"
"Yeah, babe. Come on in."
Honey opened the door, and saw Zeke learning against the sink with just a towel around is waist. Honey blushed a little.
"You're home early." she observed.
"Got finished early."
He then walked over to her, and pulled her into him.
"And...I thought we could share one."
Honey was surprised but then then smiled.
"That does sound lovely. If you'll excuse me, I'll get ready."
"Water's getting warm."
Honey left the bathroom, and went back into the bedroom. A minute later, she came back in, wearing a towel, and her hair in a ponytail.
"Looking good, babe." Zeke complimented.
"You too Z."
Honey took off her glasses, and carefully walked into Zeke's arms.
"Well we better get in there now." said Zeke, as he slowly started to undo Honey's towel.
"Yes we should." Honey agreed, as she did the same with Zeke's towel.
Then they both got into the shower.
2003
Things kept getting better for Honey's business. She decided to invest some extra money into Sony and Google. And when she did, it turned out a success. The stock managed to grow and grow and soon there was quite a large amount in her bank account.
With that along with Zeke's salary, they were to buy a bigger nicer house, and even some luxuries for themselves. Honey bought some jewelry, and Zeke bought a new gaming system. Honey also sent some extra money to her parents to help them out.
And soon, Zeke bought some very important items. He took off from work early, and decided to cook dinner for Honey.
"Honey's going to love this spaghetti." he said, as he got the ingredients ready.
As he started cooking, Honey came home from work.
"Zeke, I'm home." she announced.
"I'm in the kitchen."
Honey walked in and saw him cooking and the bags on the table.
"What's all this?"
"Just decided to spoil you a little bit."
"Zeke, you didn't need to get me anything."
"I insist. We've been living here for several months and your business is doing extremely well. Was told these are pretty popular."
Zeke handed Honey two light blue bags, inside one was a silver necklace with a heart charm reading please Return to Tiffany and co New York, and the other side had her name engraved. The other bag had a matching bracelet.
He then helped put them on her neck and wrist.
"They're beautiful, and this necklace looks great with my pearls."
"It's not the only thing I got you. Honey, we've known each other a few years now, and I love you so much."
Honey gasped and covered her mouth as Zeke got on his knee and pulled out a black box, inside a diamond engagement ring.
"I wanna spend my life with you Honey Potts. Will you marry me?"
Honey squealed in delight and immediately said yes, hugging and kissing Zeke repeatedly. He then slid the ring on her finger.
Honey spent the next few minutes admiring her new jewelry in the mirror as Zeke finished cooking dinner. Then her bees flew into the room.
"Honey, what is that on your finger?" asked Buzz.
"Is that an engagement ring?" wondered Bumble.
"Yes it is." Honey answered.
"Does that mean that you and Zeke are finally tying the knot?" Stinger wanted to know.
"Yes we are. I can't believe it."
Honey told her parents about the engagement and they were over the moon. Wanda even flew out to help Honey plan for the wedding. With money not being a big issue, Honey and Zeke were able to get some rather nice things.
They choose to have their wedding in Central Park, they'd have a chocolate cake with white and yellow icing, live music, and invite their friends and family. When Honey with wedding dress shopping with her mom, Bumble tagged along.
"What do you think of this one, Mom?" She held up a white dress with long sleeves.
"No, no, no that's all wrong." Wanda told her.
"Try this one."
She picked up a white dress with no sleeves.
"Hmm, I don't know. That doesn't seem like me."
"There must be a dress that's right for you, Honey." said Bumble.
"There is, Bumble I just gotta find it." Honey told her.
They looked around, and then Honey found something.
"Hey, I think I found one."
She pulled out a white dress that had a long flowing bell and was strapless.
"That is nice, try it on." encouraged Wanda.
Honey stepped into the dressing room, and a minute later she stepped out in the dress.
"What do you think?" she asked.
"You look beautiful, Honey." said Wanda.
"You really do." added Bumble.
"I hope Zeke will like it."
With Zeke, he was shopping for a suit with Buzz and Stinger.
"So Zeke how you feeling?" asked Buzz.
"Little nervous being honest, big change in my life." Zeke confessed.
"Nervous? I thought a guy like you would have nerves of steel." Stinger told him.
"I'm getting married, it's a huge change. Bigger than when I bought Honey all that expensive jewelry when i proposed. Bigger than graduating college. Keeping Honey awake during Attack of the Clones."
"Calm down there. This is a great thing." Buzz reasoned.
"I know, but still." Zeke replied.
"I mean what's there to be worried about? Other than Honey divorcing you, you not being able to make her happy anymore, being tied down for the rest of your life?" Stinger asked.
That made Zeke feel even more nervous.
"Stinger!" hissed Buzz.
"He makes a good point."
"Don't listen to him. Honey loves you."
"I know. But I do know she likes nice things too. You saw her eyes light up with that jewelry I bought her. Not to mention she bought an expensive purse and dress with her money. I hope she doesn't expect this from me."
"Zeke we know Honey, and she's no gold digger." Stinger told.
"That's reassuring."
"You and Honey are gonna be really happy together. I just know it." Buzz assured.
"I hope so too." hoped Zeke.
He looked around, and managed to find a nice black tuxedo.
Days went by, and soon it was time for the wedding. Honey went to a salon to get her hair and makeup done, her mom, Bumble, and some of her bridesmaids were with her.
"And finished." declared one of the stylists.
They turned her chair around so she faced the mirror. She looked amazing, her hair was done in a high ponytail, she had peach colored eye shadow on her eyelids, blush colored blush on her cheeks, and pink lipstick on her lips.
"How do I look?" she asked.
"You look beautiful, Honey." complimented Wanda.
"Like something out of a movie." added Bumble.
"Thanks. I hope Zeke likes it." Honey hoped.
"He'll love it." the stylist assured.
Then they all left the salon, got in the limo, and headed towards Central Park.
In the park, the venue of the wedding was decorated with flowers and ribbons. Zeke stood at the alter waiting for his bride. Buzz and Stinger flew up to him.
"You ready, Zeke?" asked Buzz.
"I'm ready." Zeke declared.
"You better be. Because Honey's almost ready." Stinger informed.
"I'm waiting for her."
"We better get back to her, Stinger. We're carrying the end of her veil." Buzz told him.
"Coming."
And with that, the bees flew off. Honey had just gotten her bouquet of yellow daffodils, and was ready to be walked down the aisle.
"You ready, Honey?" asked Trevor.
"Yes, Dad. I'm ready."
Buzz, Bumble, and Stinger then grabbed the back of her veil. Trevor reached out his arm to his daughter, and Honey took it with one hand, while holding her bouquet in the other. As they went to the end of the aisle, the musicians started to play, "Here Comes the Bride".
Everyone stood up, and watched as Honey came down the aisle with her father and her bees holding the back of her veil. Zeke smiled as he saw her walked towards him, and Honey smiled at him.
"Who gives this woman away to be married?" the pastor asked.
"Her mother and I do." Trevor declared.
Wanda who was sitting in the front seat smiled. Honey then hugged and kissed her father, and then he let her go and sat beside his wife. The pastor said the usual words, and then came the most important words.
"Do you Zeke Shaw, take Honey Potts to be your lawfully wedding wife? Through sickness and in health, as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Zeke answered.
"And do you Honey Potts, take Zeke Shaw to be your lawfully wedded husband? Through sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." Honey told him.
"Then by the power in me vested by the state of New York, I pronounce this couple husband and wife."
The two then faced each other, kissed, and everyone applauded. They were now husband and wife. The reception went well, there were nice toasts, dancing, and great food. And Honey and Zeke couldn't be happier.
2004
Their first two years of marriage was lovely. Sure they had fights and disagreements, but they were able to talk and work through their problems and issues. And then they decided they wanted to go to the next step in their relationship.
They decided to have a baby. But however, it was turning out to be harder than they thought. Even though they were trying, Honey just couldn't seem to get pregnant. They went to the doctor, and luckily they learned it wasn't because anything was wrong with them.
"Sometimes these things just happen." the doctor told them.
"Not every woman is able to conceive right away. But you two will have a baby one day."
A few days later, Zeke came home after picking up dinner, and he saw Honey sitting on the couch playing video games. She seemed rather annoyed by the look of her face.
"Sir, one of the techno union ships is taking off, we have to destroy them before they reach orbit." a player in the game said.
"Working on it." Honey mumbled.
"You're playing clone wars?" Zeke asked.
"I was trying to play the Tetris game on the back of the disc but I put the wrong side in so I figured why not."
"Are you okay, Honey? You seem annoyed."
Honey paused the game and threw the controller down.
"I took a walk in the park today to enjoy my day off, but I keep seeing families with kids. And it got me thinking is all."
"Oh, this is about that?"
"I'm in my mid 20's, I'm perfectly healthy. I have a great husband, my store is successful. I have everything I want, except no matter how hard we try I can't get pregnant and have a baby."
"Honey, don't give up. Remember what the doctor said? We'll have one, it just takes time."
"I'm not getting any younger. I hate seeing people younger than me have kids but I can't conceive, it's frustrating."
"Honey, I know how badly you want a baby, but we can't rush these things. Your time will come, I know it. And when it does I know you'll be a great mom. Now why don't we eat, I bought lasagna, I know it's your favorite."
"Well, I am hungry. Okay. But I really want a baby, and hopefully soon."
"Hang in there, it'll happen. But you must be patient first."
And with that, they went to go eat their dinner. After they were finished, they decided to play more of the game. As they were playing, they glanced over at each other, smiled and then started leaning in for a kiss.
A few days later, as Honey was walking back after getting lunch, Bumble pulled on her hair.
"What's up, Bumble?"
"Look where we are."
Honey looked and saw that she was referring to the store they were in front of, it was a store that sold intimate clothing.
"I bet you could find something in there that'll impress Zeke."
Honey blushed a little.
"Bumble."
"What, if you want to get busy, you're gonna need something that'll bring him to his knees."
Honey had to admit Bumble did make a point, so she went inside.
"I'm glad Buzz and Stinger decided to spend the day with Zeke, otherwise this would be pretty awkward."
"Come on, let's find you something nice." Bumble told.
Meanwhile, Zeke was at his job. He was working at his computer, when he decided to take a quick break and stretched. Buzz and Stinger came out of their little hiding spot, and flew to Zeke.
They watched at he stretched his arms, and thought of something.
"You know Zeke, you should hit the gym." Suggested Buzz.
"Why?" Zeke asked.
"You know bulk up those muscles. Give Honey something she wants to see." Stinger told him.
Zeke looked down at his biceps.
"You really think she'd like that?"
"Trust us, Zeke. She'll love it."
That made Zeke think, that probably could work.
So over the next couple of weeks Zeke went to his local gym, and bulked up and Honey continued working at her store, which kept getting popular. Then one day when Honey and Zeke both had a day off, they decided to spend it together.
After breakfast, they went for a horse carriage ride in Central Park. It was so nice, Honey leaned her head on Zeke shoulder, and Zeke put his arm around her. When the ride was over, they had lunch at a nice bistro.
They had a a nice conversation, and Honey was reminded of charming Zeke was and he was reminded of how nice Honey was to talk to. They finished eating, and decided to catch a movie.
"This reminds me of when we first met." Honey told him.
"Me too. Just don't fall asleep on me this time." teased Zeke.
Honey giggled, and they went in.
That evening, they decided to order in some pizza. They sat on their bed, eating the pizza and watching TV.
"This was a nice day, Z." Honey said.
"You said it, babe." replied Zeke.
As she snuggled closer to him, she felt his muscles.
"Zeke, have you been working out?"
"Yeah, been hitting the gym. See?"
He flexed his arm, and showed off how big his biceps were now. Honey had to admit, they look nice. Zeke then found this as a good opportunity.
"You know I could show you more."
Honey blushed.
"Oh really?"
He then took off his shirt, to reveal his abs.
"That is impressive."
"I could show you them in action."
"(Giggles), in that case. I'm gonna change into something a little more fitting."
She went into the bathroom, and a minute later she came out wearing the night dress she bought a while ago.
"Mmm, I like what I see."
"Well...why don't we get started."
She climbed on top of him and then turned out the lamp.
A few weeks later, Honey was at work one morning, when she suddenly nauseous. She quickly went to the bathroom, and threw up.
"You all right, Honey?" asked Buzz.
"I'm fine. This is the second time I've thrown up this morning."
"Really?" wondered Bumble.
Honey then realized what she just said, and then began to think.
"And you know my period is a running a little late."
"You think..." Stinger started to say.
"I need to go get a test."
That evening, when Zeke came home he found Honey cooking dinner.
"Hi Zeke, how was work?"
"Pretty good."
"Hope you're hungry, I made all our favorites."
"You seem to be in a great mood. You made our favorites tonight."
"I feel wonderful."
"Why so happy all of a sudden?"
"(Giggles), Zeke...it's happened."
"You mean?"
"Yes. We're having a baby!"
"Oh Honey I'm so proud. Your body must finally be ready it seems."
"Yes, it is."
The two then hugged and shared a kiss.
