Chapter 8: New Lives

Agent BM: Yes she is.

2005

Honey's pregnancy was a delight to everyone. She and Zeke were over the moon to finally be parents, Trevor and Wanda were excited to be grandparents, and even Honey's bees were happy for them.

And so, another new chapter of Honey's life began. She made an appointment with her doctor, and she confirmed that Honey was indeed pregnant. This meant that they'd have to move to an actual house instead of another apartment.

It made sense since a house would provide more room a nursery, and it would be better for the baby.

And so they moved to a nice house in a good neighborhood. Together they began planning for the new arrival. They picked out a room for the nursery, and Honey bought a book to help her through her pregnancy.

As the months went by, Honey changed. At first it was annoying and inconvenient. Like the morning sickness, nausea, and lightheaded-ness. But with the support of Zeke, her doctor, and even her bees she was able to get through them.

She got through her first trimester, and was now in her second one. One day while getting ready for work, Honey looked at herself in the mirror. She was now in her 4th month, and her belly had grown and was starting to show.

Honey placed her hand on her swollen belly, and smiled.

"I can't believe I'm finally pregnant." she said to herself.

Then she got her purse, and her bees and left the house.

At the store, many people congratulated Honey on her pregnancy. She'd become quite popular over the last few years, so lots of people knew her face. Work went pretty smoothly, and during her break she got a call from her mom.

"Hi, Mom."

"Hey, Honey how are you doing?"

"I'm fine, thanks. You?"

"I'm fine, but are you getting enough rest? You have to make sure not to overwork yourself."

"Don't worry, Mom. I'm taking it easy."

"Well just make sure you are. Are you gonna have a baby shower?"

"You know it. Are you and Dad gonna fly out for it?"

"You know it, sweetie. We wouldn't miss it."

"Great, I'll call you when I have a definitive date."

And then they hung up, and Honey went back to work.

When work was over, Honey went home.

"Whew, what a day of work." said Honey.

"You're an inspiration, Honey." Bumble told her.

"You may be pregnant, but that doesn't stop you from working." added Buzz.

"Well I do what I have to do. But my feet are a little sore."

"Don't worry, you'll be home soon." Stinger comforted.

"You're right."

And Honey continued on. Once she was home, she put the bees on their charger and went to relax. Getting an idea, she went into her closet, and pulled out her old walkman.

When Zeke came home, he found Honey sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Hey, Honey I'm home." he said.

"Hi Z." Honey replied.

He walked over to her, and saw that she had put her headphones on her round belly, and had her walkman playing.

"What are you doing?" he asked confused.

"I read in a magazine that while babies are in the womb they can respond to different music. Right now I'm having them listen to some new age music."

"How do they like it?"

Honey put a hand on her belly, and smiled.

"Judging by how they're kicking right now, I think they like it."

"Let me feel."

Zeke sat next to her, and put his hand on her belly. As he felt the baby kicking he smiled.

At Honey's next doctor's appointment she and Zeke were going to find out the sex of the baby. Her doctor then got the ultrasound machine ready, and Honey held Zeke's hand.

"So are you ready?" asked the doctor.

"Yes." the two answered.

She turned on the machine, squirted on gel on Honey's belly, and put the wand on it.

"Hmm, all good, and it looks like...you're having a little girl."

Honey and Zeke smiled at each other. They were going to be parents of a daughter.

During Honey's 7th month, she had her baby shower. Outside were paper words that spelled out "baby shower", and in the living room was decorated with a banner that read "It's a Girl", pink balloons, and streamers, and paper cut outs of baby things.

All of Honey's friends were there, along with her parents. They had a spread of food, and music played in the background. The couple got many nice and useful gifts such as baby clothes, baby toys, diapers, bottles and sippy cups, and other great things.

"Thank you all so much." Honey told her guests.

"We really appreciate them." added Zeke.

Everyone replied nicely.

When the shower was over, while Zeke and Trevor cleaned up the living room, Wanda helped Honey with the dishes.

"I'm glad you and Dad were able to come, Mom." Honey told.

"We wouldn't have missed it for the world, Honey." Wanda replied.

Wanda then realized, Honey seemed to be a little worried.

"Is everything okay, sweetie?"

"It's nothing."

"No it's not nothing. What's wrong?" Honey sighed, and began confessing.

"I'm starting to get a little nervous."

"If this is about having the baby, don't worry. I'm not gonna lie to you, it will be painful, but they have medication they can give you and it'll all be worth it when you hold your little girl."

"It's not giving birth I'm really nervous about. It's about what's gonna come after that. I'm about to be responsible another human being. I don't know how to be a mother, and what if I mess it up. You only get one chance to be a good mom, and I don't want to mess that up."

Wanda gently took her daughter's hand.

"Listen to me Honey. I was nervous when I found out I was going to be a mom, I honestly had no idea what I was doing when you first came."

"So what did you do?"

"I listened to my heart, trusted my instincts, and I had your father to help me."

Honey smiled a little.

"You have a good head on your shoulders, a good heart in your chest, a wonderful husband, and you have your father and I. You're not in this alone."

Honey threw her arms around her mom.

"Thanks, Mom."

"Your welcome, Honey. And don't worry, you're gonna be a great mom."

The next couple of months went by. And Honey was ready to give birth at any time now. Wanda and Trevor decided to stay until Honey had the baby and Honey set them up with a hotel to stay in for the time being.

Honey was in her office, going over some new recipe ideas with her bees.

"So I'm thinking we could try some flavored honey on maybe biscuits or scones." she told them.

"Sounds tasty." said Buzz.

As she was writing down some ideas, she suddenly felt something wet on her chair. Her eyes widened as she looked down, and realized what was happening.

"Zeke!" she called.

Within a matter of minutes, Honey's suitcase was in the car, Wanda and Trevor were called, and they were on their way to the hospital.

"I can't believe this is happening." said Honey, as she rubbed her belly.

"Don't worry, Honey. Everything's gonna be all right." Zeke assured.

"You okay, Honey?" asked Bumble.

"I'm feeling some contractions coming on."

"Just remember what you learned in those classes you took. Breathe through the pain." Stinger advised.

When they got to the hospital, Zeke checked them in, and Honey's parents arrived.

"How you feeling, Honey?" asked Wanda, as she took her daughter's hand.

"I'm okay, Mom." breathed Honey.

"Everything's gonna be okay, Honey. This is your second big day." Trevor told her.

"Thanks, Dad."

"Okay, Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, let's get you upstairs." a nurse instructed.

And then Zeke wheeled Honey to the elevator.

Hours later, Honey had given birth to her little girl. She was resting in her hospital room with Zeke by her side. The nurses had taken the baby to get check out.

"You did great Honey, I can't imagine how painful that was for you." said Zeke.

"(Sighs), it hurt, but it was worth it. Sorry if I hurt your hand though." Honey told him.

"Don't worry. I could handle it."

Then Trevor and Wanda came in. "Hey, Honey." Wanda whispered.

"So, where's our granddaughter?" Trevor asked.

Just then, a nurse walked into the room, and gave Honey her little girl.

"Here she is."

"She's beautiful." Wanda gushed.

"Look Zeke, she has your eyes." Honey observed.

It was true, the baby had blue eyes and little tufts of black hair.

"She's so cute." Zeke gushed.

"So what're you gonna name her?" Trevor wanted to know.

"I was thinking something cute, like Sophie." Honey told.

"I think that's great, Honey. Sophie Shaw, our precious miracle." Zeke replied.

"Indeed."

After bringing Sophie home, Buzz, Bumble, and Stinger flew around the little baby.

"She's adorable." gushed Bumble.

"I can't believe she's finally here." added Buzz.

"Cute little thing." Stinger observed.

"Thanks, guys." Honey told them.

"You know, you three would make a great mobile." Zeke mentioned.

"Hey, we're Honey's mascots not baby toys." protested Stinger.

"I know, but you guys would make good guardians for her during the night." Honey advised.

"Don't worry, we'll look after her." assured Buzz.

From then on, Honey and Zeke lives were even busier. When they weren't working, they spent all their time with Sophie. Feeding her, diapering her, cuddling her, playing with her, and bathing her. Even though it was hard work, whenever they saw Sophie smile, heard her cooing, or acting cute it made it all worth it.

As the years went by, Sophie grew and grew. She learned how to crawl, walk, talk, feed herself, and other things.

2011

The years went by and Sophie grew from baby to toddler to kid. And then, when Sophie was 6, Honey found out she was pregnant again. Zeke was thrilled to become a dad again, and George and Wanda couldn't wait to be grandparents again.

But Honey was a little worried about how Sophie would react. So she and Zeke sat Sophie down on the couch and told her.

"Sophie, sweetie we have something very important to tell you." said Zeke.

"What is it, Daddy?" asked Sophie.

"Well Mommy went to the doctor, and I found out that...I'm going to have a baby."

The two waited for Sophie's response, and to their surprise a smile appeared on her face.

"I'm gonna be a big sister?" she asked.

"Yes you are."

Sophie then rushed up to them and gave them a hug.

"Thank you, Mommy and Daddy I've always wanted a baby brother or sister."

Honey and Zeke smiled at each other, this couldn't have gone any better.

The next nine months went by, and Honey's belly grew again and she went through the changes. Zeke and Honey found out their new baby was going to be a boy, and they were excited to have one.

That winter, Honey was at the hospital having her second child. It wasn't easy the second time around, but Honey gave birth to her little boy.

"He's adorable, Zeke." said Honey.

"Yes he is. What are we gonna name him?" Zeke wondered.

"Hmm, I want to name him...Zack."

Zeke smiled knowing that was similar to his name. Eventually Wanda and Trevor came with her bees and Sophie.

"Sophie, meet your little brother, Zack." Honey introduced.

Sophie looked at the little baby, and smiled at him.

"Hi, Zack." she whispered.

"He's so handsome." gushed Wanda.

"Good job, Honey." Trevor complimented.

"He's cute." said Bumble.

"Good job, Honey." added Buzz.

"Now you got one of each." Stinger told.

Honey smiled, now she had a full family.
