Chapter 10: Relaxing

Agent BM: No it's not. And you're about to find out.

After getting the okay from her doctor, Honey was discharged. She called her company, and told her she was taking some personal time off. Luckily she had taken care of the real important stuff, and the rest of the workers could handle the usual stuff.

The next morning, Honey woke up in bed and yawned. She had decided to sleep in a little, but not too late, she didn't want to get out of her routine just like that. Zeke walked in all dressed and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Morning Honey, ready to start your staycation?" Zeke asked.

"Yes. I'm gonna start by giving Sophie some quality time. Promised I'd help her build some of her new Lego sets."

Honey stood up and walked to her jewelry box.

"You're gonna wear your work stuff on vacation?"

"Not all of this I wear for work, I'm gonna wear the stuff I can't wear at the office." said Honey.

Honey pulled out her pearl necklace, her heart necklace and bracelet, a gold ring bracelet, and her gold hoop earrings.

"Okay, just remember to relax please. Zack's been fed and changed, he's in the living room with Sophie. I'm heading out to run some quick errands. Remember, no working." said Zeke.

"Don't worry, I'll stay here. Just gonna spend a little time with the kids is all." said Honey.

(Sometime later)

"What the heck is this thing we just built?" Honey asked.

In front of her was a Lego set of a tank that also resembled a snail of sorts.

"The box says corporate alliance tank droid. It's cool. Next we're gonna build the homing spider droid to go with it." said Sophie.

"Corporate alliance? Why would a corporation need a tank droid? Star Wars gets weirder every time I see it. And these look like vehicles from that second movie. I saw that with your father when it came out, and I fell asleep halfway through. But I don't remember this in the movie." said Honey.

"I know you don't like Star Wars Mom." said Sophie.

"It's not that I hate it, I tolerate it. The spaceships are cool. If I didn't care I wouldn't have watched all those clone wars episodes with you Friday nights. Clone wars was even your first movie in the theater." said Honey, as she went to go sit with Zack on the floor.

"I'm surprised you let me see that at my age." said Sophie.

"You got excited seeing the trailer with your father. Rented a whole theater just so you could watch it, you didn't make much noise watching it. Still not sure when Zack here will be ready to see a movie in theaters, but I'm sure he'll let me know if something peaks his interest." said Honey.

Honey looked at what was playing on the TV, some Disney junior show called Handy Manny that Zack seemed interested in.

"Preschool shows definitely aren't how they were when I was Zack's age. Then again my parents didn't have cable til I was in middle school." said Honey.

Honey watched the show for a little bit, but soon started to grow restless.

"Hey Sophie, how would you like to go out today? We'll do something fun." said Honey.

"You're not trying to go to work are you Mom?" Sophie asked.

"No. I just wanna do something with my kids is all. What's the point of having a billion dollars if I can't use it?" Honey asked.

Sophie smiled, that sounded good to her.

And so, Honey, Sophie, and Zack went out and had a nice day. They got pizza and ice cream, went to a kids' museum, and other fun places.

"This is great, Mom." Sophie said.

"Glad you're having fun, Sophie. Are you having fun Zack?" Honey wanted to know.

"Fun." Zack squeaked.

Honey smiled, it felt good seeing her kids happy. As they walked Sophie saw some other kids from her school. But she didn't go over and say hi to them.

"Aren't you going to say hi to your friends, Sophie?" Honey wanted to know.

Sophie shook her head.

"They're just school friends."

"School friends?"

"They say we can only be friends at school, because we don't have the same kind of rich parents." Honey gave her daughter a sympathetic look.

It seemed like she wasn't the only one having issues with the "rich life".

Later, Honey decided to go into a jewelry store. She looked at the different types of jewelry, while Sophie watched Zack and played on her phone. They'd been there for over 45 minutes, and Sophie was getting bored.

She then looked up from her phone.

"Mom, this is boring, can we go now?"

"Soon, Mommy wants to hopefully buy something." Honey replied.

Honey tried on yet another necklace, this one hugged close to her neck and was covered in crystals and diamonds. She admired herself in a mirror for a moment.

"I'll take it."

"That'll be $20,000." the clerk told her.

"Now that's cheap."

She dug in her purse for her card.

"Mom thinks 20,000 is cheap? She should see some of the carnival toys she's given me." Sophie mumbled to Zack.

Honey wore the necklace out of the store, under her coat. She pushed Zack's stroller and made sure Sophie was with her.

"Now since you kids were good, I have a little surprise for you." Honey told her kids.

She took the kids to the huge Times Square Toys R Us store.

"No, no way, you mean it?" Sophie asked.

"I'll let you kids pick out a toy of your choosing."

Sophie smiled at hearing that, and Zack grinned.

At the store, Honey let Sophie take Zack's stroller and look for toys while she took a little breather. As she sat on the bench, she caught sight of something. It was a billboard advertising her store.

It gave her thoughts about how her business was doing. She was tempted to get on her phone, and call her assistant. But luckily, her bees were there to stop her.

"What are you doing, Honey?" asked Buzz.

"I was just..."

"You promised your family no work." added Bumble.

"But..."

"No buts. This is for your health, and your family." Stinger told her.

Honey knew her bees were right, and put her phone on silent mode and back in her purse. Just then, Sophie came back with Zack. They each had a toy, Sophie had a Star Wars multi troop transport and Zack had a Handy Manny talking toolbox.

"Sophie, no way I'm buying you a $130 toy." Honey told her daughter.

"You're saying it's expensive? Mom you just bought a $20,000 necklace you're wearing right now, and I can't have a $130 vehicle?" Sophie pointed out.

Honey sighed, her daughter was right. Why'd she have to splurge on something in front of her kid?

"Okay Sophie, you win, you can have it."

"Yes. Thanks mom."

"Mama?" Zack asked, holding his toy.

"Yes, Zack you can get your toy too."

When they came back home, Zeke was already there.

"Hi, Z." Honey greeted.

"Hi, Dad." said Sophie.

"Dada." Zack squeaked.

"There you guys are. Did you have a fun day out?" Zeke asked.

"You bet. Mom got us toys." Sophie informed.

"That's nice. Looks like you enjoyed your time off from work." Zeke told Honey.

"I did, and tomorrow I'm going to the spa." Honey replied.

"That's what I like to hear. You taking care of yourself." Zeke replied proudly.

Honey smiled at that, she liked when she was able to make Zeke happy. For the rest of the day, Honey put her feet up in the living and watched her favorite detective shows.

The next day, Honey went to her favorite spa in the city. She was greeted by the staff personally, and they took her back. She put her purse in locker, and then was given a personalized robe and matching slippers for her.

After changing out of her clothes, and into the robe and slippers, it was time for the spa treatments to begin.

For the first time in weeks, Honey felt relaxed. She was currently sitting in a chair in her personalized fluffy yellow and black bathrobe as a woman massaged her feet and another massaged her forehead.

This spa day was just what she needed. Since she was a regular at the spa and the ladies knew her well, she was engaged in some small talk.

"No Jenny, I won't wear green. I hate the color green. Reminds me of throwing up, and of McDonald's." said Honey.

"McDonald's?" Jenny asked.

"An ex boyfriend of mine is the reason I can't eat their food anymore. I'll let my kids eat it on occasion but I can't."

"Funny you hate green when you have green eyes." mentioned the other worker.

"Well Susie, my eyes are a pretty green is all. Oh yeah, that's the spot, harder, please." Honey requested, as Susie rubbed her feet.

Honey squeezed the armrests of her chair as Susie dug into Honey's heels, it hurt but was also so good at the same time.

"So, how is family? How are parents back home?" asked Jenny.

"Oh, my family's fine. They're so glad mommy's home to hang out with them. My parents? I don't know, I haven't talked to them in a while. I do miss them though." Honey admitted.

"Ever think of going to visit them?" Jenny asked

Honey hadn't thought of that. After nearly passing out with her kids, maybe some time out of New York would be good for her. She didn't have time to dwell on the thought as Jenny patted her shoulder.

"Robe off and onto table, time for your back."

And Honey did so.

After getting her massages, she got a facial, and then a manicure and pedicure. She paid and tipped, and left the spa. As she drove home, she thought about what Jenny said. It had been a while since she'd seen her parents in person.

So she decided to take a little trip to Illinois to visit her parents.
