Chapter 13: Hilltop Springs
Agent BM: You got that right
That night, as Honey slept, she had a terrible nightmare. In the nightmare, Honey and her family were in Colorado living their new lives when suddenly they were found out. They kept getting their pictures taken by reports and paparazzi.
They kept asking personal and awkward questions. They tried to run away and avoid them, but they kept crowding them. When they tried to get help from people they wanted large amounts of money.
When Honey woke up, she was relieved to know it was all just a dream.
"I don't want anything like that happening to my family." she whispered.
After Trevor and Wanda's things were all boxed up, the moving van came and movers loaded up all their furniture and boxes. Honey gave them the address of the new house, and they saw them off.
"Well now why don't we head to our new home." Honey suggested.
"Just give us a second, Honey." Wanda told her daughter.
Trevor and Wanda took one last look at their house, and Honey joined them. It had been their home for decades, and they were finally leaving it behind forever. And then finally, they all got in their cars and drove to the airport.
While they were on the plane, Honey spoke up.
"Everyone, I have something to say before we get to Colorado." she announced.
"What is it, Honey?" asked Zeke.
"When we get to our new home, I don't want any of you talking about who I used to be or that we're rich."
"Why?" Trevor asked confused.
"Because this is a brand new start for all of us and I don't any of us having to deal with any grief because of our money."
While Zeke and Sophie understood her, Trevor and Wanda were a little confused. But they agreed to do it.
They flew from Illinois to Colorado, and when they arrived at the airport it was now officially that they were in their new home. They got their cars, and drove off to their new houses. First they went to Honey and Zeke's new house.
"Well here we are, kids our new house." Honey told Sophie and Zack.
"House." Zack said in his baby voice.
"Wow, it's so much different than our old one." Sophie observed.
"Come on, let's take a look inside." Honey suggested.
They all got out of their cars, and went inside. It was pretty spacious, and it was in good condition.
"Sophie, you go pick out your room." Honey told.
"Okay."
And with that, Sophie quickly scurried up the stairs. She looked into the different rooms, and then managed to find one.
"Mom, Dad, I found one." Sophie called downstairs.
"All right, Sophie."
Soon the moving truck came, and movers began moving their furniture into the house.
"Any idea when the other truck will be going to the other house?" Honey asked one of the movers.
"It should be arriving tomorrow at the latest." the mover replied.
"Good. Thank you for your hard work."
Honey gave him a tip, and they left.
"Well Mom and Dad, looks like you're staying with us tonight." Honey informed.
"Not a problem with me." Wanda assured.
"Same." Trevor added.
Zeke ordered some takeout food for everyone, and they all sat down together at the table ate and talked about their new home.
That night, as Honey and Zeke got ready for bed she took off all her jewelry and put it in her jewelry box.
"You know, Honey if you want to maintain a low profile you're gonna have to go easy on your jewelry." Zeke told her.
Honey thought about it for a moment, and realized he was right.
"Yeah, I can't be a normal average woman with all these real high end jewels. But I'll at least keep wearing my pearls. After all, my parents gave these to me."
"That'll do."
Then Honey got into bed beside him, and they fell asleep.
The next morning, after breakfast Honey got the call that the movers had arrived at her parents' new house.
"Come on we'll all go. And Sophie, we're going to be going by your new school to get you registered." Honey said.
"Okay, Mom." Sophie replied.
"Cool." Zack babbled.
"No, Zack you're going to daycare." Zeke told his son, as he picked him up.
"Let's go see our new home." Wanda declared.
They drove out there, and Trevor and Wanda were pleased with the simple one story house.
"It's lovely, thank you Honey." Wanda told her daughter.
"It's perfect." Trevor awed.
The movers moved in all their stuff in, and when they were finished moving everything in the family started unpacking their stuff. Once they were all finished it was time for Sophie to get registered.
Honey and Zeke decided to leave Zack with her parents, since it would be easier to focus without a toddler around.
Sophie's new school was called P.S. 9723, and the principal was named Tori King. They went inside, and waited in the front office. Then they were told by the school secretary that the principal was ready to see them.
In the principal's office, they met with a black woman, with short black hair that was twisted up, brown eyes wearing a black blouse, blue pants, and low black heels.
"Ah, you must be the Shaws. Welcome to P.S. 9723. I'm Principal King."
"Nice to meet you, Principal King. I'm Honey Shaw and this is my husband Zeke." Honey introduced.
"And this is our daughter, Sophie." Zeke told, putting his hands on Sophie's shoulders.
"Hello, Sophie. Nice to meet you."
"Hi, Principal King." Sophie told her.
At first, the adults talked about Sophie's records, Principal King told them about the school and the rules, and then said that Sophie would be in Mr. Martinez's 3rd grade class.
"I told him about this yesterday."
Flashback
In the teacher's lounge, a Hispanic man wearing a dark blue polo shirt, jeans, and black sneakers was at the table drinking coffee. And then Principal King walked in.
"Hello, Mr. Brandon."
"Tori, my friend. How're you doing today?" Mr. Martinez asked.
"I'm fine. How're you doing?"
"Same old, you know how it is."
"Right. Oh, and I just got a call, we're going to be getting a new student soon."
"And since you're mentioning this to me I assume it means I'm getting a new student."
"You guess right. I think she'll be comfortable in your class."
"I guess I could put her between Kevin and Jessica. Kevin's kind of a mess right now and maybe could benefit having someone to help make comfortable in a new environment."
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, Kevin learned Star Wars the clone wars got cancelled on Cartoon Network and he hasn't been taking it well."
"I see. Anyway she'll be coming in tomorrow before school with her parents."
"Anything you can tell me about this new girl?"
"All I know is that she's from out of state, and that her name is Sophie Shaw."
"Well either way I look forward to meeting her."
"I can take you to go meet him now." Principal King offered.
"That would be nice." Honey said.
"Okay, right this way."
And with that, Principal King led the family out of her office and down the school hallway.
