I was thinking about making this story a standalone story but then I noticed that it would be perfect to be another chapter of my story "Jane's doubts" so that's what I did.

This time, we're moving forward and I hope you like it.

Happy reading

Jane and her brother Frankie have risked their lives, saved kidnapped children and must be decorated for this act and for that, they must be in uniform but Jane does not like to wear it

Jane and Maura's House

Jane is in her room, trying to get comfortable with her police uniform for the ceremony. Frankie enters, already in uniform, and sees her sister struggling with her outfit.

Frankie says:

"Jane? Are you ready?"

Jane says:

"Ready to hide in a closet, yes. I never liked wearing that thing."

Frankie smiles, understanding the situation and says

"You will survive, it's only for one evening»

Jane sighs as she looks at her reflection in the mirror. That's when Maura, Jane's fiancée, dressed in an elegant evening dress, enters the room, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Jane.

Maura said with joy in her voice:

"Jane, you look beautiful !"

Jane said

"No, you look beautiful! I look like a man!"

Frankie said laughing softly

"You, who have never worn women's clothes, you should like this"

Maura laughed softly too and Jane growled

"Frankie! Don't take advantage of it!"

Frankie said

"This uniform suits you perfectly and you know it very well"

Maura approached Jane and said adjusting Jane's collar

"Frankie is right! You are the embodiment of strength and beauty. This uniform shows who you are, an extraordinary woman who has saved lives.

You are just trying to be nice, Maura.

You know I can't lie Jane! Look at you. You are here, ready to be honored for your heroism. This uniform is not what you are, but what you represent. I know you're a role model for a lot of young cops coming out of the Academy."

Jane looks at Maura, her expression softening slightly at her partner's assurance and she says

"You really know how to make me feel better, don't you?

It's because I really see you. Your reluctance to wear this uniform doesn't change your worth or your beauty. Now, let's go and let the world see that my fiancée is an incredible, brave and beautiful woman"

Jane smiles, touched by Maura's words and tenderly kisses Maura. Frankie, who followed the exchange with a smile, nods approvingly and once at the bottom of the stairs, Jane sees her mother and her nephew TJ because when TJ had learned that his uncle Frankie and his aunt Jane were going to be decorated, he had asked if he could go to the ceremony and since he didn't have school the next day, Tommy had said yes but he had worked later than expected and so to his great regret, he couldn't be there so it was Angela who accompanied TJ and Angela said when she saw Jane

"Janie! You look beautiful! "

Jane smiled and said

"Thanks Ma, Frankie and Maura told me"

Angela said

"That's good, they were right!"

TJ says with joy in his voice

"Aunt Jane, you look like a real superhero! I love seeing you in uniform!"

Jane, touched by TJ's enthusiasm, can't help but smile and says

"Do you really like it when I wear my uniform?"

"Yes! You're like Wonder Woman, but as a police officer!"

Maura laughs softly, watching Jane and TJ's interaction with fondness and says

"See, even TJ thinks you look beautiful in that uniform. And he's right."

TJ says still with the same tone of voice

"You and Uncle Frankie are my favorite superheroes!"

Frankie and Jane kissed TJ on the cheek and said

"And you are the best nephew an aunt and uncle could ever have"

Then Frankie said

"Come on TJ, let's get in the car with your nonna!"

Once Angela, Frankie and TJ were gone, Maura approached Jane with a mischievous smile. She leaned down and whispered in Jane's ear so no one else could hear:

"You know, when we get back, and we're alone in the bedroom, you can keep this uniform on. I'll show you how very feminine and desirable you can be with it"

Jane feels a shiver run through her body at these words. She turns her head towards Maura, her eyes meeting her fiancée's with a glimmer of anticipation and even excitement

Jane with a slight smile, whispering in turn says "Maura, you know how I am when you start to be like that

Maura with a charming smile replied

"I know you like to be in control and I like it."

Jane and Maura look into each other's eyes, their gazes filled with love and excitement but this moment is interrupted by Frankie who calls from the entrance.

"Come on, lovelies, the car is waiting for us and we're going to be late!"

Jane and Maura exchange a last look full of loving promises before joining the others. Jane suddenly feels a little more comfortable in her uniform and another of Jane's doubts disappears.

I have made progress in my story "With time, all memories are good" but I have the impression of not seeing the end because the more I write, the longer the story gets, but I will get there!

I wish you a happy new year 2025, a year that I hope will be good and happy in all areas.
