Chapter 15: The Tears of the Navigator. Luffy's Anger!
Bellemere glanced toward the front door when no one answered. She then noticed the big, tall shadows from the window.
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Clarisse cursed under her breath as the demigods were already terrified and furious at the situation.
'I swear it's too early for something this intense.' Dionysus thought, but he continued to see the past.
Outside, Arlong smiled as Bellemere told them to come in, but upon entering, she was met by no one in the entire house. With a flicker of a lighter, Bellemere sends him flying to the ground with a single kick, pointing a gun at his mouth, ready to fire.
"Oh!" The teens were amazed and cheered the woman's actions. Even Ares whistled in awe.
"I admit it, she's a tough woman. I like her."
"She's brave, but she doesn't stand a chance." Artemis said, part proud of Bellemere's bravery and part remembering her sad fate.
"Why can't all marines be this cool?" Apollo complained.
Bellemere demanded what Arlong wanted with the village, but was greeted with laughter by the fish-men, including Arlong himself. She destroyed the weapon in one bite.
The audience fell silent immediately, seeing that she was already collapsing. They knew that Bellemere wouldn't survive all this, but...
"I do not want to look". Tyson shrieked, squirming a bit.
"Easy, big guy. I'm with you." his brother calmed him down.
Nojiko and Nami ran to the back door of their house, but were soon stopped by the doctor. He told them they can't go home. Although it sounded cruel, the doctor must remind them of the they heard the sounds of screaming.
"AAAAWWW-!"
The sound of Bellemere's cry of pain made them want to spring into action, but they could only watch as Arlong stomped on Bellemere's arm until he turned a sickly purple.
Amphetite clung to her arm tightly, looking away from Bellemere's torture, while her husband clutched her trident in anger. "They... They really are monsters." said the God of the Seas furious and ashamed of Arlong's conduct.
Genzo arrived at the scene saying that this can be fixed with money. Arlong agreed and said that he should pay for his family's life. As Gen helped her turn around, she told him her price, but Bellemere claimed that she only had a little over 100,000. Hachi called out that there was a dinner for three inside, allowing Arlong to realize that it was a family of three.
"No no no." Hestia whispered, gripping her pillow so tightly she could rip it in half.
Gen was able to lie that he and his friend were actually invited to dinner, trying to get Bellemere to pay for herself. He helped the census show that she has never been married or had children.
"That's a good idea. I doubt Arlong is smart enough, or at least has common sense enough to look into it." I think Athena objectively, earning some glances.
"Sister, that has been cold, even for you." Hermes commented with his arms crossed.
"Lord Hermes is right, mother." her daughter reproached her, with a sullen look.
"Unfortunately, this is the past and the Sisters of Fate have already decided their fate; there is nothing to do. Besides... I didn't say I like it."
Despite learning of Bellemere's fate, there were some audience members who were relieved at their temporary safety until they saw the pain on Nami and Nojiko's faces. The doctor has told the children that there is no proof that the three of them are related, so they must leave before the fish-men find out. There is no way they can save all three of them, so Nami and Nojiko have to venture out to sea.
Nami refused. She doesn't want to leave. The fish-men are the ones who invaded them. As she wept, she asked if it was because they were too poor to be Bellemere's daughters.
Thaila felt shaken, feeling tears streaming down her face. She simply reminds her too much of various members of Camp Half-Blood, herself, and her brother.
"It's the only way for them to live." Zeus whispered solemnly.
"So what the hell happened?!" Percy angrily asked Junior.
"Watch and you will know."
Of course the answer was too vague. Junior had proven to be as cryptic as the gods.
Nojiko was determined for them to leave, knowing that this is the only way for Bellemere to be safe, but before the fish-men could leave...
"Wait! Who said that was my share? That 100,000 is for my two daughters. I'm missing mine."
Everyone's eyes widened, gods included EVEN Hera who had recovered from the "beating" earlier.
"W-what is she doing?" Hades exhaled.
"So that's how it happened..." Apollo said, surprised.
"The sacrifice... of a mother." Artemis seconded, remembering the sacrifices her mother Leto made to protect them when she was pregnant; she being a victim of Hera's jealousy.
"I won't deny that I don't have a family... Even if it means sacrificing my life. We may not be related by blood, but we're still a family. I wish I could be a mother just by saying that." A small memory of hugging Nami and Nojiko came to him. "Those two... are my daughters, right?"
Hestia began to cry disconsolately at the mortal's words. However, one goddess in particular felt as if she had just received the most important lesson of her life from her. Hera was shocked by Bellemere's words. For Hera, a family had to be blood. They couldn't be family without a blood relationship. And yet, Bellemere's words felt so… natural. Authentic.
'Why does she say they're family like that, so...authentic? Can it be… that I´m really… is a heartless bastard?' She couldn't help but think herself, as she felt everyone's hatred, even Ares and Hephaestus. She didn't know why, but tears ran down her face; Unfortunately, no one saw her.
Nami and Nojiko ran to Bellemere's side, crying. With tears in her eyes, she cradles them close to her even with her broken arm.
"She really wanted to buy you more things, like books and new clothes. I'm sorry I couldn't be more of a mother to you."
Annabeth sobbed right into Percy's side as he held her tight. Everyone's eyes were glued to the scene.
"You are more of a mother than anyone could be!" Thalia screamed.
Nami and Nojiko didn't care about material things. They just don't want Bellemere to die like Nami wants her to see her world map. Raising a trembling hand to her head, Bellemere told her to make sure he fulfilled her dreams, to live on. The fish-men loomed over them. As Nami and Nojiko cowered beside Bellemere, her mother told Arlong that she promised to leave her daughters alone. Arlong did, as long as she died.
"T-Their two are not going to see her die, are you?" Aphrodite sobbed.
No one could answer him. Only a disgusting feeling inside them worsened at the thought.
Nami screamed for help, but when Genzo tried to take Arlong down, the man was defeated by the sharp-finned fish man, and Genzo was sliced right in front of her. From a distance, they could hear the villagers making their way towards them. Arlong ordered his men to show them what they are made of, but not to kill them.
He plans to make Bellemere the perfect example.
"Nope!" "Shit!" "Leave them alone!" The youngsters could only cry out desperately, clinging to each other for some kind of comfort. The gods were furious, as well as confused. They never cared about the lives of mortals until they began to see the history of Luffy and his crew. At that moment, Apollo thought of his evidence and smiled to himself. As much as he hurt him, he had Zeus to thank for punishing him and so he will try to become a better father.
Bellemere pushed the girls into the house. Arlong pointed the gun at her heart, telling her to die for her 'pathetic love'. Through the chaos of the town beating, Bellemere was able to call out to her daughters. Nami and Nojiko could only look at her with teary eyes.
"I love you."
The shot echoed through the sky as they watched as Bellemere's limp body was thrown backwards by the shot. Memories of softer, dumber times didn't help ease her tears. He just enforces them, especially mixed with the reactions of those who care about Bellemere.
They knew of her fate before, but they were not prepared for this.
'Don't lose to anyone. Girls have to be strong too. It doesn't matter if they don't congratulate you. Don't hate the era in which you were born. And always remember the strength to keep laughing.' Bellemere's words echoed through the room.
Arlong laughed proudly at her achievement, speaking to the humans.
"How...could you? How...dare you...?"
The voice was Hera's, so the Olympians, already angry with her before and now more furious with the injustice and horror they had just seen, turned to confront her, thinking that she was going to say something like "she deserved it". or "it is well used for being a false family"...
...only to see Hera, completely shattered and struggling not to cry.
Never, not even in her wildest dreams, did the Olympians think of seeing the Queen of the Gods so weak, so vulnerable, so... human. Hera began to walk slowly towards the exmarine's corpse while Athena and the rest moved away from her. The demigods all backed away except Percy, who was still looking at his aunt, puzzled. He still hadn't forgiven her for making him forget everyone he cared about when she was in the Roman Camp. But as soon as he saw Hera's face, he couldn't find anything of the goddess he knew; he only saw a completely sad and indignant woman, unable to do anything against Nami or Nojiko. Slowly, Poseidon's son moved away from her and Hera walked over to the woman lying on the ground. Suddenly, she fell to the ground and began to cry uncontrollably. The strength, the gentleness, the gentleness... Bellemere had the qualities she wanted in mortal mothers. Even Zeus couldn't believe that Hera was mourning the loss of that mortal.
'We are perfect. I don't understand why Hera got like this... Although, I didn't know that she could feel like this, what is happening to us?' wondered the King of Gods.
Hachi took a map from Bellemere's back pocket, but Nami told him to give it back. When Arlong saw how well drawn the map was, he told his men to bring her with them. Nojiko was desperate to stop them.
"You promised not to touch her!" Clarisse was stopped by Tyson before she did something stupid.
Gen mentioned the money and the promise Bellemere made to Arlong, but the fishman only claimed that he is 'borrowing' Nami.
"You were never a man of your word! I bet you're going to break that promise about his village too!" Grover yelled. Hades was beginning to accumulate a huge grudge against Arlong. Same as Hera.
Nami called for help and Gen tried to defend her, but Arlong asked Kuroobi to cut him off. Nami and Nojiko could only watch as Gen weakly tried to save them, but Nami begged him to stop. Kuroobi felled Gen with the blunt end of a sword.
"I don't want anyone else to die!"
'Luffy, you have to do something.' Artemis thought, hoping for the best.
After all, the town was a mess as their ships sank, so her original plan for Nami and Nojiko was...native. As Genzo recovered inside the medical bay, he knew the marines wouldn't even bother with them, and Bellemere knew instinctively. There was no way anyone could escape this fate. At night, Nojiko has told his mother's grave that the fish-men have taken Nami and they ask him what he is supposed to do now.
Gloomy mood hung over their heads, wishing that the fate of these villagers could change.
'Guess she wasn't a fool after all…' Zeus thought, remembering when Bellemere announced that the money wasn't for her. It would have been easier to save himself and hope the girls were safe, but he guessed that Bellemere really did care about her daughters. 'Hermes made a great choice, it seems. Heh, I guess Luffy isn't that stupid after all.'
When the sun was shining, the town found out where Arlong and his gang are. They have to decide whether to fight to the death or wait for the government. Genzo acknowledged that the only ones who can stand up to them are the people at Marine Headquarters, but they already have their hands full with the Grand Line. It is very unlikely that they will come. Still, Genzo wants to save Nami, so everyone wants to fight for her. Nojiko could only remember Bellemere's words: "As long as you live, many good things will come to you!"
"They will die if they do." There was no humor in the voice of the God of Thieves. He understands her desire to save her, but they have already been defeated by the Fishmen and they don't have enough time to recover and plan safely. They will be slaughtered if they have done anything.
They fell silent when they saw Nami, crowding around her. They were relieved to see her safe, but Nami...told them that she's joining Arlong's crew as a map-maker. Gen asked if they were forcing her to do this, that they must have threatened her for her to do this, but trying to get out of her grasp, Nami revealed Arlong's tattoo on her shoulder.
Themis's hand flew to her mouth. "She's been scarred at such a young age."
"That demon... If that's what Jimbei is like, it might be best not to meet him." Poseidon said, annoyed.
This convinced the villagers of her ways as Nami smiled shakily and said that her crew could buy her whatever she wanted. Nojiko threw her to the ground, saying that he would never forgive her for becoming a pirate. Still, Nami doesn't want to live properly, even though Bellemere was killed by them. Before Nojiko could continue, Gen told her to stop. He demanded that Nami never set foot in this town again. Nami was only able to flee when Gen wondered if Nami thought of Bellemere as her mother, but Nojiko knew that was not the case.
Did the town really give up on her? The kid they practically helped raise. Although Annabeth knew why the town had lost her trust in Nami, she hoped that there was still a part of them that still loved Nami.
'She is lying. She is desperate to protect the family she has left... even though they hate her for joining the killer of her mother.' Apolo thought, at the same time that her sister felt sorry for Nami.
That night, Nami sat in front of Bellemere's grave as Nojiko watches from afar. She also remembers Bellemere's words and she knew that the government would not help them. She realized that she had to act on her own, so she made a deal with Arlong to buy back Cocoyashi Village for 100 million beri. Once she buys the city, they will be free and no one will have to die. Nojiko thought it was impossible, but Nami thinks she could, knowing that everyone is having a hard time paying her tribute. If she asks for help, they will just get hurt.
'That's a lot of pressure for one child.' Hades thought as Percy took a deep breath and clenched his fists in anger.
Nojiko asked if it would be difficult to be with the person who killed Bellemere, but Nami convinced herself that she would smile every time she saw her face, that she would never cry again. She will fight alone.
Zeus tried to look away from her, but he couldn't. Seeing someone so young commit such a sacrifice...
"Straw Hat, I trust you will make the right decision."
Returning to the present, the gods and demigods see Luffy sitting against a tree, and for some reason, he seemed to be deep in thought, which was enough for him.
"Hmmm…" he hummed. "A grinder..." Then he smiled. "I think I just thought of a cool new move!"
"Grinder?" Dionysus repeated.
"What kind of nonsense are you talking about now?" Hephaestus asked.
"Maybe he's thinking of going to a festival or something?" Aphrodite asked. "Though it's not the time, treasure."
"I think it's something else entirely." Percy theorized.
Suddenly, there was a huge commotion that caught everyone's attention.
"Huh? What is that?" Luffy asked as he got up to go look. As soon as he reached the center of the city, he saw that a large crowd had gathered, and among them was Nami's father figure, Genzo, who was holding Nojiko, whose arm was bleeding for some reason.
"Medical!" he called. "Someone, find a doctor, quick!"
"What happened?!" asked a man in the crowd.
"It's Nojiko! He's been shot!" Genz answered.
"Shot?! What do you mean shot?!" someone else asked. "For who?!
"...The Marines did it," Genzo said, grimly.
"WHAT?!" the townspeople questioned in shock.
"What?!" Apollo questioned. "Nojiko was shot?! Why?!"
"...It was Arlong's fault," Athena hissed with a hatred that rivaled that of the God of the Seas and his wife. "He stabbed her in the back."
"...What did he do?" her daughter asked.
"I suppose he would bribe the local marines," Poseidon began, just as furious as his niece, "and had them take away all the treasure she amassed over the years working for him so he could make her work for him forever."
"So...no matter how many times Nami tries," Thalia began, also sharing the same anger, "Arlong intended to keep Nami with him until she was no longer of any use to him...in other words, until the day of her death."
"Exact". Junior said confirming everyone's suspicions. "Captain Nezumi, the Navy officer in charge of this island, is corrupt like Morgan and he negotiated with Arlong for his silence.
"...Unforgivable," Demeter whispered with a look of great disgust. "He Not only does he have the nerve to laugh at the dead, but he has stolen that filthy girl! How dare he take advantage of Nami's heart like that?!"
"That damn bastard shark...!" Clarisse hissed, as Groover bleated viciously in agreement.
Themis looked at Hera, whose entire body trembled.
At that moment, Luffy noticed Nami, who was seething with rage at seeing her sister injured by her.
"I...I'm fine," Nojiko said. "I really am!"
"What happened to her?!" asked one of the villagers.
"...Arlong is in league with the Marines," Genzo said. "Nami was stabbed in the back by her! He never meant to keep her word to her!"
Hearing that, it was the townspeople's turn to get angry.
"I do not think so...!"
"That bastard Arlong!"
"How could he do this to poor Nami like that?!"
At that moment, Nami stood up, gently removing Nojiko's head from her lap.
"W-wait, Nami…" the doctor muttered.
"Hello Nami!" He greeted Luffy as he walked towards her, seemingly unaware of her anger. "What's going on? She. Maybe she can help!"
"... Still here?" Nami asked with a fierce look in her eyes causing Luffy to freeze in his tracks.
Before she could protest, Nami grabbed Luffy by the collar of her vest and pulled him into her face, causing her to scream in fear.
"I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO CARE ABOUT YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!" she screamed. "GET OFF THIS ISLAND, NOW!"
At that, she tossed Luffy aside her and ran off as he blinked behind her, then got up, dusted herself off, and sat under the tree, again.
"Gosh... what the hell did I do?" she asked her with a pout.
The Olympians didn't speak... but they knew they didn't have to. They knew something intense was about to happen here. As they continued to watch, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji appeared and sat outside on the outskirts of town. They didn't speak a single word...it was almost creepy, as if they knew they were waiting for something like this to happen.
Then Percy and Annabeth approached Junior. He raised an eyebrow when he looked at them.
"What's up guys?"
"What are you waiting for?" Percy said impatiently. "Nami is suffering and sits a-!"
"The question, Seaweed Brain, is 'who are you waiting for?' Right?" Annabeth asked, smiling at Junior.
"You're starting to think like me, onee-chan. I like it. And your boyfriend, heh, he reminds me a lot of Luffy. I like that too."
The group saw a crowd begin to swell in the streets, armed with all kinds of weapons: swords, pitchforks, shovels, guns, you name it. It was almost as if these people were about to go to war…a war they knew they had no chance of winning. And yet they didn't mind dying.
"Those bastards have gone too far, now!" Genz yelled. "8 years ago, they came to our humble village, and we swore that no matter what happened, we would never give our lives! No matter how badly those bastards treated us, as long as Nami was treated well, then we would carry on. Let's bear it!" NO MORE! That damned Arlong betrayed Nami, and now, there's no freedom for us! And not only that, but he took advantage of that poor girl's kindness...and even killed her poor mother! ANY OBJECTIONS?!"
Soon, the townspeople began to scream.
"Hell no!"
"We've been waiting for this moment!"
"We won't take shit from her anymore!"
"What are we waiting for?! Let's go get them!"
Ares couldn't help but feel proud of these mortals. He came to compare them to the Spartans, because of his willingness to protect Nami. Although he knew that they had no chance, they would fight against Arlong and his men; they really were warriors, the God of War thought. Thought he shared with his daughter.
"No wait!"
They all turned to see Nami... who had a forced smile on her face.
"Please...it's okay!" she tried to assure them. "I can steal the money again, no matter how long it takes! Please just wait a little longer!"
The demigods couldn't help but feel that her hearts went out to her navigator... she seemed like a woman who had resigned herself to her fate... all because she didn't want to see the people she loved killed. . It was enough to break her hearts…his and the hearts of the villagers. Even Nojiko could see the pain on her sister's face. Hera just stood there looking at her, without her divine companions being able to understand what was happening to her.
"It'll be a little easier for me this time," Nami said. "You'll see! I have more experience, now! I'm really... fine... compared to then, I'm really fine! You don't have to worry about me-"
"Stop!" Genzo ordered, causing Nami to gasp silently…before going upstairs and hugging her tightly. "...That's enough, Nami...we get it. You've tried your best to fight as hard as you could, but it wasn't enough. You suffered for our sake...joining Arlong must have hurt more than cutting off your hand." ".
"...Old Gen...!" Nami whispered, her voice beginning to crack.
"Now," Genzo began, "get off this island."
"W-what?!" Nami questioned. "But... but Genzo!"
"Shut up Nami!" Nojiko ordered. "He's right...he go find that straw hat guy and get out!"
"Nope!" Nami argued with tears in her eyes. "I can't leave you guys!"
"It's alright, Nami," Nojiko assured. "You're a smart girl... and you have a big dream ahead of you. We're not going to let you waste it."
"TO SHUT UP!" Nami screamed as he stood in front of the crowd, pointing a knife at them with trembling hands. "I won't let you! I don't want anyone else to die for me... not like Bellemere did!" Then he sobbed as he tried to hold back his tears. "Please...don't do this! You will all be killed!"
A pause... before Genzo grabbed the knife by the blade, cutting his palm.
"...We know, Nami," he said with great resignation in his voice.
"Don't try to stop us," said the doctor. "We already decided this."
Nami's jaw dropped as tears fell from her eyes.
"OUT OF OUR WAY, NAMI!" Genzo yelled, causing her to stumble out of her way. "COME ON EVERYONE! EVEN IF WE DIE, LET'S BE SHOWING THOSE BASTARDS WHAT WE'RE MADE OF!"
"YES!" everyone cheered as they followed Genzo... leaving Nami behind, completely stunned. She soon fell to her knees and her knife fell from her hands. Tears cascaded down her cheeks…and she boiled furiously as she stared at her left shoulder, where Arlong's Jolly Roger tattoo was affixed. She grabbed at it, her nails digging into her skin, as if she wanted to rip it from her bone.
The Olympians began to hear a laugh.
"Shashasha!"
It didn't take a genius to figure out what that laugh was. That cruel and horrible laugh. For Poseidon, Amphetite, Percy, even Tyson, the rage was overwhelming. To see how a representative of the sea behaved in such a cruel way...
"Nami... ! What are you...?" asked the Goddess of Love, terrified.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGH!" she screamed as she grabbed the knife and began to stab her shoulder, over and over again. "ARLONG! URGH! URGH! ARLONG, ARLONG!"
As the demigods looked on in terror and yelled at Nami to stop stabbing herself... Temis and Hestia's eyes filled with tears. They sobbed as she watched Nami continually hurt herself. It was more than she could bear. Soon, Zeus grabbed the two and hugged them tightly, allowing the goddesses to sob on her shoulder.
At that moment… a hand reached out and grabbed Past Nami's wrist, just as she was about to stab herself again, causing her to look up and see that it was Luffy, who was looking at her with a blank expression.
"Luffy…" he whispered before withdrawing his hand. "What do you want? You don't know anything about this. You don't know what has been happening on this island for the last 8 years..."
"No, I don't," Luffy said bluntly.
"...This has nothing to do with you...!" Nami said, still trying to put on that cold front that she tried to put on earlier. "I told you to get out of this place...!"
"Yeah, sure you did," Luffy replied, again.
"THEN GO!" Nami screamed as she began blindly throwing sand at him…but the visitors knew she was just taking out her frustrations. "I TOLD YOU TO GO! GET OUT OF HERE! GET OUT OF HERE, NOW! GO! GO...go...go..."
But Luffy stayed…while Nami sobbed, like the broken child she was, in the background. She had lost everything... her mother, her treasure... and now she was going to lose her sister, her father figure and all of her beloved neighbors. She was truly someone who had run out of options.
Yet she suddenly felt snug and warm. The Olympians were greatly surprised by who she had been: Hera knelt beside the navigator and hugged her tenderly, still sobbing. Even the archer twins were shocked, knowing Hera's aversion to children who are not blood relatives.
"...Luffy, /Straw Hat...," both women whispered before looking back with teary eyes and a runny nose. "...Help me...!/...Help her, please...!"
At first, Luffy didn't do anything until he quietly took off his straw hat and put it on Nami's head. He then put a hand on the head of the Queen of the Gods. He turned around and walked a few steps away as she stared at him in confusion.
He suddenly stopped and took a deep breath, leaning in until she screamed at the top of her lungs, "OF COURSE I WILL!"
For the first time since they arrived here, they were able to smile, feeling relieved. Some of them even cheered loudly in delight.
Overtaken - One Piece OST
Soon, Luffy walked towards Zoro, Usopp and Sanji.
"Come on," he said, causing them to become fully attentive.
"Right!" they exclaimed before soon joining his side and all moving off, like four men on a war footing. No words had been spoken between the four of them... but none were needed. They knew his friend had suffered a great injustice…and now it was up to them to right it.
This was the real moment... the moment they really became the Straw Hat Pirates.
It was then that they all arrived at Arlong Park, where Genzo, Nojiko, and the angry crowd had gathered at the gate. For some reason, Johnny and Yosaku were there too, but they seemed to have been roughed up quite a bit. Obviously, Arlong and his crew had been taken, but they lost.
"Stand aside!" Luffy demanded, causing everyone to step aside and let him and the others through. Luffy then stretched his arm back before knocking down the doors of the gate, causing him to fall.
"Nice entrance, boy!" Ares shouted, excited.
"...Okay," Luffy said as he stood up. "Now... which one of you is Arlong?"
All the Fish-Men looked at the intruder... but then, someone spoke from his lawn chair, not even bothering to look at Luffy.
"It's okay?" he asked. "That happens to be my name!"
Arlong is a large, muscular, pale blue sawshark gyojin whose most distinctive feature is his saw-nose. He has long, black hair sprouting at the back of his neck, reaching down to his shoulders, below what appears to be a brown ushanka, which covers his head. It has a fin on its nape, surrounded by its hair, and gills are located on both sides of its neck. His Sun Pirate tattoo is on the left side of his chest, while his own Jolly Roger is on his left forearm.
Arlong's outfit consists of a sleeveless, unbuttoned yellow shirt decorated by many black patches, shorts, which are brown in the manga and green in the anime, a purple belt around his waist, and simple sandals. He also has a lot of jewelry: he has a gold chain bracelet around his left wrist and two gold bracelets around each ankle, with straw-like decorations hanging from them. On his hands he seems to have rings, decorated with colored gems. However, according to Oda in response to a fan of these rings, they are not rings at all, but rather piercings that go directly through Arlong's fingers, due to his hands being webbed and incapable of wearing rings.
"...So...HE IS Arlong, huh?" Apollo asked with his bow at the ready.
"...There's nothing good about him..." Artemis hissed with as much anger as her brother. "He would be a good hunting trophy!"
"Are you sure?" Hades asked, his voice icy. "He seems a little laid back to me."
"Trust me," Junior said. "Arlong is not someone to underestimate, he is very dangerous, at least for normal people."
"The name is Luffy," Luffy said as he walked towards the Sawtooth Shark Fishman.
"Luffy?" Arlong repeated. "And who are you?"
"A pirate," Luffy replied.
"Oh! It's him!" exclaimed a familiar eight-armed Octopus Fishman. "The guy who likes to go for walks!"
"...Oh, Hachi," Junior muttered casually.
"Who?" Clarisse asked.
"One of Arlong's men," Themis answered, "but honestly, he's the only one who treated Nami kindly. He's not a bad guy."
"Sorry to differ, but…" Demeter started, but Hestia's hand on her shoulder stopped her.
"You're right, I don't feel bad coming out of him."
"Hold it right there!" he called out to one of the fishmen as he and one of his friends tried to cut off Luffy. "That's enough, friend."
Luffy just glared at him before slamming their heads together and yelling "Get out of my way!"
Once they were knocked out, he continued walking towards Arlong.
"And what does a pirate want from me?" asked Arlong…but soon got the answer from him as Luffy staggered and then punched him in the jaw, sending him flying across the park and crashing into a wall, much to the surprise of the other fishmen.
Before long, Arlong managed to get out of the rubble before looking at Luffy.
"...Who the hell do you think you are?!" he questioned him, which made Luffy frown at him. The rubber pirate had a look that reminded many of the murderous look Percy had.
"That's for making my navigator and my friend cry!" he Scream.
To be continued...
